I made a reservation for a mangrove canoe experience on a day trip to Iriomote Island. It turned out to be very good. Komasan was in charge, and she was wonderful; the canoe time was very enjoyable. The kids seemed to have fun too! Thank you very much! ⭐︎ Since the tour also included a visit to Yubu Island, we took a water buffalo cart and spent a leisurely time. We had a full day of fun!

We participated as a family of three, including my wife, our 11-year-old daughter, and myself. We were extremely satisfied with the plan that allowed us to fully enjoy the natural beauty of Iriomote Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in just one day! The guide was thorough and ensured our safety, helping us create wonderful memories. We also had many photos taken, and the underwater pictures are especially beautiful; I've looked at them many times since returning home.

The quality of the guides varies greatly. Having participated in another tour in the past and being part of multiple groups this time, I could clearly see the differences in the explanations and handling by other guides. Unfortunately, our female guide's knowledge and explanation skills were not at a level suitable for the job. While it's natural that we might not see stars or creatures, the guide's explanations should meet a certain standard. It felt like we were just walking through the bushes with a student, merely expressing reactions like "This is amazing!" or "That's gross!"
Additionally, regarding logistics, we received no communication about the pickup location until late the night before, and the amount of information required for the consent form was excessive. It would have been better if this had been sent in advance. Since I had to input the information for each family member on my smartphone, it took over 10 minutes just for four people, which is no joke.
There are other similar tours available, so it might be better to consider those.

またロジですが、前日深夜になるまでピックアップ場所の連絡もなく、記載必要な合意書も異常な量の必要回答量で、これなら事前に送っておいてもらえればな、と思います。家族人数分をスマホで入力しないといけないので、4人だと冗談じゃなくこれだけで10分以上とられます。
他に似たツアーもあるので、そちらのご利用がいいかもしれません。

We had a canoe experience as a family of three. The guide, Mr. Seki, provided clear explanations and communicated with all participants, which made us feel at ease throughout the experience. We learned a lot about Iriomote Island and the ecology of the mangroves.
They provided both a small paddle for our 8-year-old daughter and an adult-sized paddle, but she persevered and paddled with the adult paddle until the end. It was also very enjoyable to get out of the canoe to see the mangroves up close and touch the creatures living there.
Although it was our first canoe experience, it became a precious opportunity to feel the nature of Iriomote Island, and we created wonderful memories.

Although there were slippery slopes and dirty areas along the way, it was a fantastic tour that my first-grade daughter enjoyed without fear, finding glowing scorpions and recognizing constellations! The guide was very knowledgeable about Iriomote Island and various creatures, making sure all participants had a great time. I had a great time with the sightseeing at Yubu Island and beach snorkeling. On the bus heading to Yubu Island, the guide shared many interesting stories about Iriomote Island and the creatures that live there.
Although we only had 50 minutes on Yubu Island, we were able to see water buffalo and many colorful flowers, and we enjoyed a delicious gelato while strolling around. Riding the water buffalo cart while listening to the sound of the sanshin was very pleasant.
In the afternoon, my 6-year-old daughter was a bit scared since it was her first snorkeling experience in a year, but the guides, Abe-chan and Yumi-chan, were very kind and gently encouraged her, saying, "You can hold onto the float—let's have fun!" This helped the whole family relax and enjoy the experience. My daughter even whispered, "That was so much fun..." as she reflected on the day.

The guide provided thorough explanations, which made me feel comfortable participating. I think I’ve learned enough about mangroves to explain a little to others. Even though the rain forecast was 90%, it only rained for a few minutes and quickly cleared up, so it wasn’t hot even in the summer. I realized that weather forecasts aren’t very reliable.
The trekking was a good workout for both someone in their 40s who is out of shape and a fifth grader, and we had no troubles at all. The senior couple with us were also fit, and we were able to enjoy the experience together.
The lunch we had at Pinai Sara was delicious! The waterfall was magnificent, and the water level was as expected from the rain forecast the day before. After returning from the monsoon, we were relaxed by the horses and the owner. Even a half-day was enough to thoroughly enjoy the experience!

Despite the strong winds caused by the typhoon, my experience was amazing from start to finish thanks to our guide, Abe-chan! Since it was high tide, we were also guided to the hard course, allowing us to have a unique experience that can only be done here. On the way back, Abe-chan spotted a "crowned eagle" and created an opportunity for the tour participants to observe it, making it an incredible experience all around! Next time I visit Iriomote Island, I want to challenge myself with a SUP tour here.

We participated as a family of four, with two daughters (one in 4th grade and the other in 2nd grade). From the departure point, we went through the turnaround point to the goal, and it was a solid distance. We enjoyed the experience together, feeling excited and returning to our childhood! Personally, the sunlight filtering through the mangrove forest was incredibly beautiful and became an unforgettable experience. My 2nd-grade daughter was able to paddle with an adult paddle all the way to the end, so I think elementary school students have no problem physically. The experience of maneuvering the canoe together while struggling was very rewarding. The guide provided slow and careful support, and shared stories about the nature and lifestyle of Iriomote Island at various points, making it a very enjoyable and educational time.

We were blessed with great weather and a stunning 360-degree starry sky. It was the first time I could see the Milky Way so clearly with my own eyes. The explanation of the constellations using a laser pointer was very easy to understand. The scenic spot of Iriomote Island, the Pinai Falls. Since it's such a famous site, I decided to go with a highly-rated service and chose Iriomote Nature School.
At first, I was a bit worried because the pickup car didn't have good air conditioning, but once we arrived at the location, the detailed explanations and the guidance through the scenery were very pleasant.
They took photos at key points with my digital camera, making sure to capture good angles, which created wonderful memories. The photography at the basin of the Pinai Falls was well thought out and absolutely fantastic!
I plan to request this tour again when I go back. Thank you very much!

せっかくの名勝なので口コミ評判の良いところにお願いしようと思い、西表自然学校にしてみました。
お迎えの車はクーラーも効かず、ちょっと大丈夫かな〜との不安はよぎりましたが、現地に着いてからは丁寧な説明、その都度の景色をガイドいただきとても良い感じでした。
特にデジカメで写真を要所要所撮ってくれるし、良いアングルでの撮影を心がけてくれて、良い思い出もバッチリでした。

I hadn't made any plans before arriving at Iriomote Island, but I was interested in canyoning and was looking for a place that allowed same-day reservations. For now, I signed up for a half-day canyoning session, and since it was my first time, I had a great time. Everyone else was from overseas, but the guide explained everything in both English and Japanese, and all the participants got really into it, making it a lot of fun. As the typhoon approached, I signed up at the last minute, but due to strong winds, we switched to canyoning. Following the reliable Captain Macchan, we made our way through the forest, descending to the river to jump off rocks and slide down like on a slide. It was a fun activity with a sense of unity as we cheered each other on with other groups! We also took lots of photos and videos, creating wonderful memories of Iriomote Island!
In the afternoon, we had a course set for Yufu Island, but unfortunately, it was temporarily closed due to the typhoon.
