First, receive a detailed explanation about the harvesting process from the knowledgeable staff at Gakiya Farm, one of the leading sugarcane farms in Nago City. Learn about the use of tools and methods for harvesting.
First, watch a demonstration by a local farmer. Then, try your hand at harvesting sugarcane yourself! There are plenty of unique experiences, such as removing leaves and branches from the sugarcane, and uprooting it vigorously from the base.
After neatly removing the leaves from the harvested sugarcane, peel off a bit of the skin and take a bite! Sweet sugarcane juice will come out.
Witness the process of turning harvested sugarcane into fresh juice using a squeezing machine. Enjoy a tasting of the freshly made sugarcane juice.
Learn about the powerful harvester machine and, if interested, take a ride to experience the harvesting process firsthand.

If time permits, visit the farm animals including goats, cattle, chickens, and even wild boars. Enjoy the opportunity to feed the goats and observe the farm animals.

Restrictions
- Children of elementary school age and younger will experience traditional games in the sugarcane fields.
- Children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian.
- This tour is conducted in Japanese only; however, for non-Japanese speakers, staff will assist using translation devices. Additionally, arrangements for Chinese or English-speaking guides can be made upon request. Please select this option if desired.
