The rain didn’t dampen our fun.
Reviewed by: Maria, 2024/03/06We had a lovely rainy day on a warm and dry bus. Nice spots to give a good view of Tokyo with a nice lunch. Comfy yellow bus with big windows.
The Shinjuku station pickup spot could be noted a little more clearly. Directions take you to the Hato bus office so we went very early and caught someone. It wasn’t clear that they would be there the whole time or locked up so just know there is a 1 and 2 bus stop just for Hato on the street directly across from the Starbucks that is outside from the office (not across the street, but just a straight walk out towards the street). The pole sign will call out their different packages and they will be there to ensure you’re on the right bus.

Mt. Fuji Classic Route Day Tour from Ueno & Shinjuku
Average for travel spots but good at customer handling

the gathering idea is not good

Pace of the tour was too fast.

We no longer had enough time to see the shops at Gotemba Outlet Store. Perhaps the tour duration should be extended to at least 10 hours. The bus should depart from Tokyo earlier so the group could have a better chance to see Mount Fuji earlier in the morning.
Tina, our accommodating tour guide spoke English clearly and audibly. The bus was fairly new and very tidy.

greatest day ever

Disappointing scheduling
Reviewed by: LW90, 2020/03/28This tour is hugely dependent on the weather. On the day, it was rainy and foggy. That in itself was uncontrollable by those running the tour but what was disappointing was leaving the Gotemba Outlet at 15:30 to arrive back at Shinjuku at 17:00. The schedule stated two hours at the outlet and leaving there at 16:00. If the entire tour group didn't spend all that much time outdoors because of the weather wouldn't it make sense to spend the extra time at the outlet rather than arriving back in Shinjuku an hour early?! We were told there may be traffic on the way back but that hardly justifies getting back an hour early.

Amazing Mt. Fuji Trip!
Reviewed by: Charm, 2020/03/06I was very lucky that we had a clear day during our Mt. Fuji trip so the group I was with was able to do and visit all the attractions as stated on the description except that we were only able to visit 1st station since 4th and 5th station were closed due to heavy snow. It's not a big deal though as there are still lots of chances to see the magnificent Mt. Fuji on the way. If you're planning to visit Mt Fuji during winter, make sure to layer well since its colder there compared to the city. Expect as well a long travel time from Tokyo to Mt Fuji as it's roughly 139 km away. And lastly, I highly suggest to take the option with Bullet train as it will only take you 40 mins back to Tokyo compared to 2-3 hours travel back by bus.
FYI, the bus first row (left and right) are reserved for the guide and driver#2!

Wonderful Day Trip!

It’s very budget friendly for a tour, and had us stopping at some really great spots, so we definitely felt like we were getting more than what we paid for (awesome photo ops!)
We were accommodated last minute and received confirmation immediately. Pick up/meet up location was easy to get to, and felt very safe during the drive.
Our guide was very helpful, and made us feel very welcomed. Overall wonderful experience! Highly recommend it!

Great day tour a lot to see!

Only drawback is the guide announced 1 1/2 hour at gotemba that i have to show her that veltra is offering 2 hours in the outlet which the guide respectfully followed after we showed her the veltra site. Overall we were happy because it was a beautiful sunny day and we saw mt Fuji 100% clear.

Tokyo to Kyoto 1-Day Tour by Shinkansen with Afternoon Leisure Time
Excellent Kyoto day tour
Reviewed by: Avid Traveler, 2020/01/21I was a bit apprehensive after reading the other reviews, but I had no problem at all during the trip. The tickets were at my hotel by the time I checked in. The tour starting point in Kyoto was pretty easy to find if you know how to read a map and follow the signs in Kyoto station.
The tour itself was amazing. We were taken inside Nijo Castle and saw the intricate paintings in the rooms. Then there was the beautiful Kinkakuji temple with it's amazing gold leaf covered lake side pavilion. The only part that was a bit underwhelming was the imperial palace (as you can't go inside any buildings).
For the free time, I bought the afternoon tour by the same company (Sunrise Tours) that did the morning tour. That covered the other must see temples of Kyoto. In fact Veltra should package that in as well. It only costs an additional $60.
The downside of the long day was that it was quite tiring at the end. I mostly slept during the train journey back.

Impressive and beautiful views of Mt Fuji!
Reviewed by: Craig Ishimaru, 2020/01/19The tour took us to great and memorable views of Fuji, but felt rushed and didn’t allow enough time to enjoy each attraction, and the 1-1/2 hour visit to the outlets is barely enough time to walk from the bus to the far end of the mall and back without even being able to stop at stores to shop. The itinerary said there would be 2-1/2 hours at the outlets. Also, the souvenir store at the beginning of the tour at Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park is by far the best, so buy your souvenirs there in addition to getting some good pictures.

Very fun and easy tour

Eric give brief information that really useful, informative and not too much. He also know very much all places that good for photo taking, since we'd love to take good pictures from all tourism object.
I like all site, the lake, the shrine and the village and also the shopping mall that we visited. this tour is very colourful tour. The bus driver also drive very smooth and good and drive safely.

If you have JR pass then you can take the shinkansen back to Tokyo else it is good idea to boom the tour with bullet train package. Food served during the tour was average. Overall a goos experience.

Very enjoyable Mt Fuji tour.

We were blessed with good weather allowing us to visit the 5th station and see Mt Fuji up close, and clear, although it is pretty cold up there (with the wind chill). Tour guide Yoshi is very professional, courteous, helpful all the way. He provided some good Japanese cultural and historical information which helped us to enjoy the tour even more. The Hakone ropeway ride and the Ashi cruise were also very enjoyable. The lunch was enjoyable. Everything in the trip was great. The drivers were safe & courteous. I couldn't ask for any more. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Fall Foliage Tour from Tokyo to Watarase Gorge & Ashikaga Flower Park Light-up
Below average trip.

Kasuki dam trip had nothing.
Only thing that was worth were Ashikaga flower park illumination.
Shimmeigu shrine was okay. Mizunuma onsen has very very little foliage.
