Tokyo
Nikko is a charming little city that would be fun to explore. We enjoyed the shrine complex very much! The lunch was delicious and gave us a taste of traditional cuisine and service style. Driving through the countryside was a nice break from the hustle of the city. The waterfall and lake area were beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to both share information and answer questions- also shared humorous anecdotal side notes. My only suggestion is to do the lake first and then the shrine after lunch to avoid the crowds.
Very good tour guide. beautifull tour. Nikko is very intersting place to visit
We had a Awesome day spent at Edo Wonderland! It was my first time in Japan and was definitely worth the visit! I highly recommend this place if you have time to stop by!
Gorgeous tour... everything about this tour was nice.. our favorite tour. the temples were impressive.
Both Nikko and Lake Chuzenji were quite stunning! Unfortunately, Kegon Falls was not visible due to the mist that day. Good food and a well informed guide made the total experience very worth it.
Everything went according to play, the exchange worked out.
It’s a long drive just to see one shrine. The whole experience was dimmed by the lack of a good guide. Not informative at all. Repeating the same thing. was not courteous to some of the other passengers who were a bit slow. The tour was all about making up the time, get off the bus, view the place and quickly get back on the road. The guide would not even wait for everyone to get off the bus. Many co travelers were disappointed. We have taken many day tours around the world, this was easily the worst experience.
The road leading up to Nikko is quite famous and the journey is beautiful! While the Shrine is also very beautiful esp the woods at the back, make sure not to accidentally join the students' tour. We joined our guide as well but we realized that it would have been a better experience for us if we took everything in by ourselves only as that would have given us a semblance of peace. Some might enjoy going with the group though. To each her own! Also, we missed the falls! Yup, we did. We didn't understand our guide. We thought we were merely going to a parking lot.
I have to say that this tour has the best lunch!!! I'd love to have that set again!
We didn’t know that there was a pick up at keio Plaza, too bad we spent time walking and for the taxi, but everything was good tho :)
Enjoyed the trip tremendously!
Our tour guide, Ms Anne, was very experienced and informative about Nikko, its history etc. She also gave a "mini city guide" along the way to our destination.
She was also a cheerful lady and was very accommodating to our requests.
Felt safe and comfortable throughout the trip.
I thought everything about the trip was great! The tour guide was fantastic and very attentive and knowledgeable. The only criticism I have is that there was more travelling than sightseeing. I understand that Nikko is quite far from Tokyo but would rather have had a bit longer in the 3 locations and less travel if it meant staying overnight even. Otherwise a worthwhile trip!
Good tour, too bad we couldn’t see the lake or waterfall due to thick fog.
A wonderful day in Nikko. Our guide was great very knowledgeable. Loved our traditional Japanese lunch. Plenty of time to explore on our own. Highly recommend this tour. Autumn leaves were out, amazing scenery. Guide made sure everyone knew how to get back to their hotels after tour ended.
Our tour is rated as good because many aspects of the tour were impacted by the bad weather. It was difficult to enjoy the tour to its fullest. The lunch was definitely awful, I have been to Japan approximately 15 times before and for the 1st time I was unable to determine what I was eating except for an obvious piece of fish. We took 3 yours while in Japan thi time and all of them had pick up service to the hotel as well as drop off, this should have been included with this tour. Many of the attendees to this tour were having some difficulties with getting back to their original destination. This is particularly important when you visit a foreign country and travelers should be catered accordingly.
Our guide was a nice lady with many insights.
Logistics was good and comfortable. We had a great time!
The level of service was high and informative. She gave us instructions on how to return to the hotel.
Also, the restaurant we stopped for lunch was really good.
We had a great time and we are happy to recommend it.
Nothing represents Japan better than Shinto shrines and breath-taking sceneries and that is exactly what Nikko has to offer !
The place is classified as a world heritage centre for a reason ! The carvings and paintings are marvellous , i very much enjoyed the optional 207 step hike to the tomb of tokugawa ieyasu !
Our traditional Japanese feast was very popular & filling , and kegon falls offered the perfect combination between Japanese sweets , water sound & magical visuals ..
Highly recommended
The shrine was extremely crowded as one would expect visiting such places in Japan. However, it was very loud. I had been to Meji Shrine, Enoshima Island Shrine and despite the crowds there, it was relatively peaceful and quiet. Not so in the shrine in Nikko.
The waterfall was nice as so was the lake.
The drive out of the waterfall almost made me loose my lunch.
The lunch option was wonderful so I recommend that.
Lovely day, pleasant drive, Kumiko was a wonderful guide, the history was fascinating.
Los templos son magníficos. Lastima que por la niebla no pudimos ver ni el lago ni la cascada. La guía fue amable y profesional, la comida sabrosa y el conductor lo hizo estupendamente en esas reviradas carreteras.
It was raining the whole day. Because of the whether we couldn‘t See the sea and we couldn‘t See the Kegon Falls. Lunch was good.
Even seeing the world Heritage wasn‘t fun, but better than looking After the Kegon Falls. It would be better to change the schedule due to rain.
The Tour was AMAZING, especially NIKKO.
Lunch was very Pleasant and drive to and from the lake and falls was exciting.
All in all, a Terrific tour.
Toshogu Shrine was very good. The falls were a bit of a disappointment because the sun was behind them. The lunch was OK. I recommend this tour.
Our tour guide was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humour. Everything was very organized and the bus trip was very comfortable.
Nikko and Kegon falls was just beautiful even in the cold. I would definitely do this tour again at a different time of year as i imagine it to be stunning and lush in Spring, Summer and Autumn. It was a day well spent.
Being a solo traveller it's great to be able to participate in tours like this awesome day tour to Nikko from Tokyo.. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.
It was really good time to learn about Japan’s ancient life & culture.
The temple in Nikko is such beautiful and the Edo Village has all kinds of life in the ancient
Japan. The guide was very kind & courtesy. However, there were too many peoples in the temple, so moving slow & time was really limited.
Excellently organised tour.. very good tour guide... enjoyed every bit of the tour... unfortunately due to heavy rains and mist could not see Kegan Falls...
Very nice guide, excellent tour.
Our guide Take San made the trip very enjoyable and informative. The shrine was spectacular.also the lunch was superbe. A great trip overall.
Our host (Dice) was a fastastic and pleasant person. Took great care to connect even before check in until we checked out. I stayed with my family (parents and children) and they loved it.
It was like a home. Well maintained.
Very convenient location to catch a train or taxi or bus. Most importantly located very close to many tourist attractions as well. Saves time!!
This was a great tour. The guide was humorous and the spots were well chosen. The only downside was that I wish there was more time, because it felt like we were racing to get through as many spots as possible. If I were to visit Nikko or another "outside of Tokyo" site again, I'd probably plan to stay overnight because there is just too much to see in a single day.
