The ride on the river was only about 15 minutes, and I think it would have been better if it had been closer to 30 minutes. I also think there should be course options like a downstream ride on the Sumida River.

The sea breeze, splashes of waves, fascinating stories, the view of the factory complex directly from the ship, the pipes of the plant emerging from the darkness, and the lighting illuminating concrete and glass—from the red lights of the Showa era to the bluish-white glow of LEDs—I was able to see various types of tankers and ships.

I enjoyed using my senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. It was a moment of both tension and bliss.

We were starting our holidays off with a special treat, so we indulged ourselves with a combination of a scenic little cruise and an utterly amazing lunch. Veltra's instructions and directions are all really clear, we had no problem getting there and checking in.
In a word the lunch service was incredible. Every dish fantastic, service impeccable, and the atmosphere refined yet casual. We had a table directly next to a huge ceiling to floor window, giving us nothing but a shining and open view of Tokyo Bay, the airport, and Odaiba.
Between planes lifting off and touching down seemingly close enough to touch and the neverending gentle waves, we were in heaven on the open deck, after our meal. The breeze was gentle, so it wasn't cold, and we could see a whole new side of Tokyo.
While I probably can't do this every month, I certainly wouldn't mind, and I'm planning to take my wife back for her birthday, this time with a cake.

Our wedding anniversary was coming up, so we decided to take part on this cruise with our children (ages 3 and 7 months). My eldest son was very excited to be able to go on a big boat, but when he saw the real ship, it was bigger than he imagined and got even more excited. I took my younger son on a stroller, but we were able to board without any problems and went straight to the restaurant. We added a children’s meal for our older son, but the portion for him was perfect. The portion for the adult seemed to be a little less, but it was a nice amount to enjoy while leisurely watching the view. After our meal, we went out to enjoy the evening scenery. Many of the attendees appeared to be couples, but the restaurant was full of people (there was even a live pianist) and I felt like even families with children can fully enjoy. We went under the Rainbow Bridge, saw the Tokyo Tower, the Ferris wheel, and even planes going in and out of Haneda Airport. There were plenty of things to keep our three year old son occupied and interested during the two and a half hour ride!

Finally, I was able to take part of this Vingt et Un cruise.
At the Takeshiba terminal, there was a counter for the Vingt et Un cruises where you can check in. Inside of the ship had many restaurants and we were guided to the Pier 21 restaurant.

Seems like there was a wedding the same day and we saw the very pretty bride.

There were also fireworks going off on Saturdays of December and we were lucky enough to catch the fireworks!

The navy blue interior of the restaurant was calming and the service was superb. The ship barely shook and I believe it’s comfortable even for people who easily get sea sick.
We had the Vingt et Un course that day. The course of the Christmas menu began with a glass of champagne, salmon hors d’oeuvre, mushroom soup, red snapper in tomato sauce for the fish dish, roast chicken for the meat dish, and dessert was a mini buche de noel with vanilla ice cream. For people who can’t drink alcohol, you can always replace it with a non-alcoholic drink too. They had a nice selection of non-alcoholic cocktails too.

The cruise itself was 2 hours long and after a cup of coffee, we finished paying for our drinks, peeked around the souvenir shop, and spent the remaining time on the deck.
If you would like to spend a memorable and romantic time with a person you love, this is a perfect cruise to go on.

From start to finish, the evening was lovely. The ship is quite big, and prettily lit up. We were seated right by the window, so got to watch the bridges, smaller boats and Tokyo Tower go by over the water. We ordered a bottle of champagne (like most cruises, drinks were extra), and never had to pour it because the waitress was so attentive.

What was particularly nice is that this cruise can accommodate vegetarians (and apparently halal menus too), so I could eat everything in the tasting course! Very yummy.

We booked the cruise as a special wedding celebration, and so ordered a cake, which was truly delicious (and they even were kind enough to get a chocolate one, when we asked if it was possible when booking)

As a factory enthusiast, I wanted to participate in the "Factory Night View Cruise" at least once, so I invited my husband to join me. We boarded the ship at the Oosanbashi Pier. At this time, I sat on the left side facing forward, but since the spots are visible on the right side, I recommend sitting on the right if you can.

While listening to the captain's relaxed talk, we first passed directly under the Rainbow Bridge. Seeing the bridge up close was incredibly impressive. After that, we approached a group of crane-like structures lined up along the coast. Experiencing the loading and unloading of huge containers from a large tanker was a rare and moving experience. Then, we finally arrived at the main oil refinery area. The beauty of the flames and the illuminated factories was so captivating that I could have stared at them forever.

The boat itself had both "normal cruising" and "wild cruising" options, and I enjoyed the pleasant speed. It started to drizzle a little along the way, but it wasn't bothersome.

If I had to wish for something, I would have liked to get a bit closer to the factories, but I heard that getting too close can lead to trouble, so I think they were entertaining us just at the edge of that limit. Next time, I would like to participate in the Keihin Canal course!

船長さんのユルイ感じのトークを聞きながら、まず通過したのがレインボーブリッジの真下。間近に見る橋は大迫力でした。その後、沿岸沿いに並んで立つキリンのようなクレーン群に接近。大型タンカーから巨大コンテナを積み下ろしする所を見るという経験は貴重で感動しきり。そして、いよいよメインの石油工場地帯へ。燃え上がる炎とライトアップされた工場の美しさは、いつまでも眺めていられるほど魅力的でした。
ボート自体も「通常走行」と「ワイルド走行」というのがあり、ほど良くスピードが感じられて気持ちよかったです。途中から小雨が降ってきましたが、気にならない程度でした。
欲を言えば、もっと工場に近寄って欲しいところでしたが、あまり近づくと怒られるそうなので、そのギリギリのところで私たち参加者を楽しませてくださっていたのだと思います。
次回は京浜運河コースに参加してみたいです♪

The only down side to this and other tours in Tokyo,is that you can be picked up at your chosen Hotel, but at the end of the trip you are dropped of at Tokyo Station and you have to find your own way back to your Hotel.

I participated at the hottest time, 2 PM. I regretted getting on the duck without any air conditioning in the scorching heat, but I managed to cope with the breeze while running through the city. The explanations were enjoyable, and while blowing the quacking whistle we received from the duck, the hour and a half flew by in no time.

Just hearing the words Lunch Cruise made me excited, and the ship and service did not disappoint my expectations.
As for both the meal and the cruise, it became a wonderfully delicious and pleasant two hours.
When I passed under the bottom of the Rainbow Bridge in particular, I was overwhelmed with the size. I could also see the airplanes of Haneda in the distance,and think it's great for airplane enthusiasts!

I enjoy a relaxing lunch occasionally, but this was my first lunch cruise.
I had the Vantean plan.
Because we ordered both the sauteed fish and the chicken entrees, we could eat meat and fish. Both were good!
The timing when the dishes came out was perfect and the staff were very kind, and left a good impression.

I saw a photo collection of factory night views and decided to join with my family. It was quite magical, and I felt like I was in a sci-fi movie or a Studio Ghibli world. It was more impressive than seeing it in the photo collection, and I was very satisfied with both the course content and the captain's talk. There was little rocking, so I didn't get seasick. I would like to participate in the Honmoku and Negishi course as well!

There were large international cruise ships, and I think people coming from abroad must be amazed by Japan. Among the international ports I've seen recently, this one stands out as exceptionally modern and grand in scale. I'm once again surprised by how incredible Japan is. Even if it's not a sunny day, I don't think this cruise is significantly affected when it comes to enjoying the night views. I had a great time. The captain of the Santa Barbara was also a really nice person, full of service spirit, explaining things while quickly taking us to the front and getting us close to the highlights, providing great service and making it a lot of fun. I would love to go again if I have the chance.

Oh, taking photos of the night view is difficult, and it's hard to get good shots with a compact camera or a phone. But I recommend it.

あ、夜景の写真って難しくて、ちゃんとした写真はコンデジや携帯のなんちゃって写真ではなかなかびしっといきません。でもお薦め。
