Our family of four had the opportunity to experience making pure silver spoons. It was a lot of fun to create our original spoons using traditional tools and techniques in the craftsman's workshop. It was an experience that made me truly appreciate the beauty of "authentic" craftsmanship. We received very careful guidance and gained a lot of knowledge about the properties of silver and Japanese traditions. I was also impressed by how easily the spoon glided into the really hard ice cream. We are already using the spoons as a family. Thank you for a wonderful time!

家族４人で、純銀スプーンづくりの体験をさせていただきました。職人さんの工房で、伝統の道具と技術でオリジナルのスプーンを作ることができ、とても楽しかったです。「本物」は素晴らしいな、と実感する体験でした。とても丁寧にご指導いただき、銀の特性や日本の伝統についても、たくさんの知識を得ることができました。また、本当にカチカチのアイスクリームにスプーンがスッと入っていくのも感動でした。早速、家族で愛用させて頂いています。楽しいひとときをありがとうございました❗

The craftsman I met was very kind and cheerful from the first impression, which made me feel at ease during the experience. While looking at the works, I was able to hear about the history of silver and the profession. The task involved using a hammer to tap the handle onto a pure silver spoon. When I was stamping the letters, there were times when the points were misaligned, causing the letters to blur, making it a task that required quite a bit of skill. However, it was basically just a matter of tapping. I was surprised by the experience of inserting the spoon into ice to learn about silver's thermal conductivity. It was my first time touching pure silver, and I am still happy to have it now. I had a very valuable and enjoyable experience. I also heard various interesting stories. Thank you very much.

第一印象からとても優しく明るい
感じの良い方で安心をして
体験が出来ました。
作品を見させて頂きながら
銀についてや職についての歴史を
聞かせて頂けました。
作業は金槌を使って
純銀スプーンに柄を
トントンと打ち込む事をしました。
文字を打ち込む際、
打ち込む点がずれてしまい
文字がぶれてしまったりして
なかなかコツの要る作業でもありましたが
基本的にはトントンと打つ作業のみでした。
銀の熱伝導について知るために
氷にスプーンを刺す体験は驚きました。
純銀を触るのは初めての事で
今も純銀を持っている事に
嬉しく思います。
とても貴重な楽しい体験ができました。
いろいろなお話も聞かせて頂き
面白かったです。

While the time spent in the workshop may seem long yet short, I sincerely appreciate your interest in creating a pure silver ice spoon through our 300-year-old Edo traditional techniques, learning about the history of silver, the profession of "ginshi" (silver artisans), and conducting experiments to understand the thermal conductivity of silver by inserting the spoon into ice.
