To ensure a safe and enjoyable tour experience, please carefully review the following information.
1. What to Bring on the Day
・Please make sure to bring the following items in case of sudden illness or injury:
・Health insurance card
・Regular medications (such as pain relievers)
・Prescription medications (such as emergency or as-needed medication prescribed by your doctor) - 2. Guests Required to Submit Health Information
If you have any of the following medical histories or symptoms, please be sure to complete the "Yakushima Additional Information Form" provided in the email you receive after booking. - Common Symptoms Requiring Disclosure:
・Respiratory / Cardiovascular: Asthma, COPD, heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure
・Allergies / Metabolic: Anaphylaxis, diabetes requiring insulin treatment
・Neurological / Mental Health: Epilepsy, walking or balance disorders, aphasia, dementia, uncontrolled mental illness

Please fill out the “Rental Request Form” linked in the confirmation email sent after your reservation is complete. - ◆ The deadline to submit the rental form is 23:59, four days before the tour.
Rental items not requested by the deadline or with incomplete information (e.g., missing size) cannot be prepared. Please arrange your own gear if necessary.
The deadline cannot be extended, even for last-minute bookings. If you apply for a tour within 3 days of your booking date, our rental gear will not be available. Please note this in advance. - ◆ For bookings within 3 days, Yamakara may call to confirm details. If unreachable or if payment and form submission are not confirmed by 15:00 the day before the tour, the reservation will be canceled.

Rental items will be delivered free of charge to your accommodation on Yakushima.
For tours taking place on or after Monday, January 6, 2025, rental gear will be delivered to your accommodation the day before the tour.
If you wish to change sizes after trying on the items, please call the emergency contact number listed in the final information email during office hours (10:00–18:00). - Please note that itineraries may be changed or shortened at the guide's discretion for safety reasons due to:
-Weather conditions (or sudden changes during the tour)
-Participants' physical condition
As we prioritize safety, no partial or full refunds will be issued for shortened itineraries once the tour (walking) has started. Please understand that this is an outdoor activity subject to nature before booking. - Please review the rules and etiquette of Yakushima National Park before your visit.

Participants will be taken to the trailhead on a chartered bus reserved exclusively for the tour.

Guests will be transported from the nearest designated meeting point (between Miyanoura and Onoaida) to the Arakawa Trailhead.
This is not the public Arakawa shuttle bus departing from the Nature Center.
Round-trip fare: ¥2,500 per person (pay on-site)
Age requirement: 10–69 years old
(Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. Those under 20 need parental consent.) - The tour will proceed rain or shine, except in severe weather conditions. Cancellation fees apply for cancellations or no-shows made for personal reasons.
・Tours may be canceled or altered due to weather or road conditions. Transportation costs to/from the site will not be reimbursed in case of cancellation.
・If canceled in advance, the tour operator will contact you by the day of the tour.
・Please note any medical conditions or concerns in the remarks section when booking. - As the tour starts early in the morning, you will need both breakfast and lunch bentos. Please ask your accommodation when checking in.
・You may not be able to catch a departing flight on the same day after the tour. Please arrange to leave the island the day after the tour. - How to return rental gear
Rental items must be returned at the Arakawa Trailhead after the hike.
You can leave your own shoes (to wear after returning the rental gear) and the black rental bag marked “YAHHO” on the shuttle bus during the hike, so be sure to bring them with you at the tour departure.
Your guide will assist with collection after the tour.

・Thick socks (please bring even when trying on rental boots)
・Gloves
・Hat
・Long-sleeve shirt
・Functional underwear
・Trekking pants (no jeans or cotton; sportswear is acceptable) - Foldable umbrella
・Plastic bags (e.g. ziplocks for waterproofing gear, or bags for trash)
※ Please prepare your bento in advance by asking your accommodation (pay on-site).
※ Clothing made of moisture-wicking, quick-drying materials (synthetic or lightweight merino wool) is recommended.
※ As Yakushima experiences frequent rain, proper rain protection is essential. Use plastic bags or similar methods to waterproof your belongings.
