In the light rain, I, with no mountaineering experience, participated feeling full of doubts. My husband was very eager to go. We took a break halfway up. I was hesitating, thinking that if I turned back now, my husband would keep bringing it up, when the guide said, "If you're unsure, let's go!" and we set off?! In the end, we reached the summit of Taiko Rock! I'm so glad I didn't turn back halfway. I felt a great sense of achievement! Thank you, guide!

小雨の中、登山経験のない私。途中挫折満々で参加。夫は行く気満々。半分まできて休憩。これで帰ったら夫にずっと言われると迷っていたら、ガイドさんが迷っているなら行きましょうと出発？！で、結果、太鼓岩登頂！途中で帰らなくてよかった〜。目標達成感ありあり！

What I communicated as changes in advance was not reflected until the day of the event. Even on the day, when I sought assistance at the airport, my requests were not considered, and it felt like I had to accommodate the staff's convenience rather than receiving service myself. Specifically, there was a misunderstanding regarding the size of the rental items, and the taxi driver was not informed about the drop-off point for the return trip, which resulted in a detour. I was also instructed to return the rental items to the hotel front desk, but when I followed those instructions, I was told that they hadn't been informed about it. I felt that communication was not effective.

On the other hand, the guides for the activities and the taxi drivers were very considerate and provided excellent service.

事前に変更として伝えたことが、当日まで反映されておらず、当日、空港で対応時も、こちらの要望もきいてもらえず、何かと空港での対応スタッフの都合に合わせる形になり、どちらがサービスを受ける側なのか疑問に思った。具体的には、レンタルアイテムのサイズも行き違いあり、帰路の下車ポイントもタクシーの運転手さんに伝わっておらず遠回りになってしまい、レンタル品の返却も滞在ホテルのフロントへ持って行くように指示されたので言われたとおり持っていくと聞いてないといわれ、いろいろ伝達がうまく行っていないと感じた。
一方、アクテビティ本体のガイドさんやタクシーの運転手さんは、細かいところまで配慮のある方で、対応がとても気持ちよかったです。

It wasn't exactly easy, but it was better than I imagined. There was another group with participants in their 70s, and they reached Jomon Sugi around the same time as my group, which only had people in their 20s. They looked cheerful and were laughing on the bus ride back! For those who are going, I highly recommend wearing sturdy shoes and socks. I got blisters from my unfamiliar hiking boots, but the guide lent me long socks, which helped prevent severe pain.

別のグループでしたが70代の方も参加されており20代しかいなかった私のグループとほぼ同じタイミングで縄文杉まで辿り着いていし帰りのバスでも元気そうに笑っていました！
これから行く人はとにかく靴と靴下をしっかりした物にする事をオススメします。
私は慣れない登山靴で靴擦れしガイドさんが長い靴下を貸してくださりそれのおかげでひどい痛みにはならずに行けました。

On the way back, it rained, but the forest in the rain was magical, and it felt nice to walk through it. The moss looked even greener and more beautiful in the rain. There are days when you may not see deer or monkeys on the roads leading to Shiratani Unsuikyo or within the park, so it's great that you were able to see them.

I embarked on my first solo trip with some anxiety, but I was determined to tackle Jomon Sugi. Thanks to the guide's pacing, I was able to take my time at the photo spots and ended up enjoying the experience more than I expected. Our group was moving at a fast pace, so to adjust our timing, we took a detour to the river on the way back. We took off our shoes by the riverside, dipped our feet in the water to cool down, and relaxed for a bit. I thought reaching Jomon Sugi would be a tough challenge, but it turned out to be fun thanks to the guide and the other participants. I would love to join again.

I learned about and purchased a tankan, and I was surprised at how much sweeter it was than any other mandarin orange I've ever eaten! If I hadn't taken the Yakuzaru train, I would have returned home without knowing about it. I definitely want to recommend this to older people and those who may have difficulty walking. 😊

This was my first time participating in a trekking tour. I usually do yoga and train at the gym about twice a week, but I was worried about whether I could walk for 10 hours on mountain trails. However, from the moment I met the guide on the bus, who checked our belongings and chatted about our hometowns, I felt more at ease. The day before, I had been trekking to Jomon Sugi, so I thought I wouldn't be able to walk much that day... and I signed up for this tour. It takes you around Yakushima, visiting must-see spots at a good pace. In the World Heritage area, I was thrilled to encounter many Yakuzaru and Yakushika. Above all, the guide was really thorough and dedicated in their explanations, making it possible to become a Yakushima expert in just one day! Meals on these types of tours often don't meet expectations, but the flying fish for lunch on this tour was delicious.

This is a course where you can visit the two major attractions, Shiratani Unsuikyo and Jomon Sugi, in one day. The guide's personality and service were great, making for a very enjoyable trekking experience! I visited in March, and although there were some cold moments, we were warmed up with delicious hot pork soup during the trek, creating a lifelong memory!

This course seems to be quite challenging, to the point that the guides we passed would smile wryly, but with the help of our guide, all the girls were able to reach the top! However, the next day was a hell of muscle pain.

白谷雲水峡と縄文杉の二大名所を1日で回れるコースです。ガイドさんの人柄やサービスもよく、とても楽しいトレッキングでした！三月に伺い寒い時間もありましたがトレッキング中に暖かい豚汁をいただき、身も心も暖められ一生の思い出になりました！
このコースはすれ違うガイドさん達に苦笑いされるほど辛いコースのようですが、担当ガイドさんの助けもあり女子全員で登りきることができました！ただ、次の日は筋肉痛地獄です。

I participated in early March, and it was a bit chilly, but once we started trekking, my body warmed up, so those worried about the cold might not need to be too concerned. I used a rental, but it was a proper mont-bell one, so I felt reassured.

The plan to visit Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in one day is originally quite hard and carries weather risks, but I received careful follow-up communication before departure, and they even considered splitting it into two days based on the situation, which showed great consideration. In reality, we faced harsh conditions with hail and snow, but they adjusted according to our circumstances and kept our spirits up with quizzes and various conversations along the way, allowing us to successfully complete the 12-hour hike. They also took on the role of a wonderful photographer and director, sending us many great photos and videos that night.

It was truly the best day ever. I definitely want to ask Tsugimura-san again!

縄文杉から白谷雲水峡までを1日でまわるという、本来、天候リスクもあり、かなりハードなプランなのですが、出発前から丁寧なフォローの連絡を頂き状況に応じて二日間に分けてくださろうとしたり、とても配慮あるご対応でした。実際、霰や雪が降る厳しい状況でしたが、我々訪問者の状況に応じて進んでくださり、その道すがら心が折れないようクイズや色んな話で盛り上がりながら12時間の登山を無事終えることが出来ました。写真や動画も、素敵なカメラマン兼ディレクターの役割までしてくださって当日の夜に沢山いいものを送ってくださいました。

I was told that it was tough for beginners. I have some hiking experience, but this was my husband's third time hiking. The students we happened to go with were beginners, and their smiles disappeared around the mossy forest in the second half. We managed to walk through it with our physical and mental strength, but it was incredibly exhausting.

There were photo spots here and there, and the guide took great pictures for us. Considering our stay in Yakushima, it was wonderful to be able to visit Ariake in just one day. It became a great memory of the trip.

In the morning, it was drizzling, but by the time we reached Wilson's stump, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. When we got to Jomon Sugi, fog rolled in, creating a mystical landscape. At Taiko Rock, we were told that fog would cover the clouds, but luckily we could see the entire view and light shone through. Around the mossy forest, the fog returned, revealing the beautiful appearance of the forest.

The sense of accomplishment was incredible, but I truly believe that you need to have a strong mindset to tackle it.

初心者にはつらいと言われました。わたしは何度か登山経験があるのですが、夫は登山3回目で。たまたま一緒に行った学生の男の子たちは初心者で、後半の苔むす森あたりから笑顔が消えてました。体力と気力でなんとか歩き切ることができましたがものすごくしんどかったです。
所々写真スポットがあり、ガイドさんがしっかり写真を撮ってくれました。屋久島での滞在期間を考えると1日で有明所を行けるのはありがたかったです。旅のいい思い出になりました。
朝は小雨だったのですがウィルソン株までは日が差して青空でした。縄文杉に行くと霧がかかり幻想的な風景ができました。太鼓岩で霧で雲もかかると言われましたが運良く全貌が見渡せて光が差しました。苔むす森あたりはまた霧がかかりきれいな森の姿が見えました。
達成感はすごかったですが、強い気持ちを持たないと本当にきびしいと思います。

You can efficiently visit the sightseeing spots in Yakushima by bus. Although there were some distances between the spots, I was captivated by our guide Mr. Hidaka's talk and didn't feel any discomfort at all. It depends on the guide. At first, we just had a light greeting and then we walked along the trolley path with our group of six. It felt like it would never end, but finally, after about 2 hours and 30 minutes, we finished the trolley path. The climbing began! From here, the guide taught us in detail how to climb without getting tired and how to do it without putting too much strain on ourselves! Thanks to that, our tour reached Wilson's stump and Jomon Sugi early, allowing us to take our time to explore!! I honestly wondered how effective the no-fatigue climbing method would be, but when we arrived at Jomon Sugi, the other tour groups were panting, while none of our six were out of breath when we got there!! We walked back the same way, but we had the energy to chat!! The next day, I had a bit of muscle soreness, but I was still able to play a round of golf in Kagoshima!!! The guide had a unique personality, but the climbing techniques were very helpful! Next time I go, I will definitely request this guide again!
