I persuaded my daughter to participate. I wasn't confident in my physical strength, so I was considering retiring if necessary, but I still really wanted to see Jomon Sugi. The guide told us that once we reached the end of the trolley path and started climbing, if we couldn't go together, we should retire and head back. I was informed that there wouldn't be a bus after 5 PM. I couldn't keep up with everyone and dropped out at Wilson Stump, but my daughter suggested that since we were already there, we should go to Jomon Sugi together. We took photos at Jomon Sugi and then returned to the entrance of the trolley path where the guide was, and we walked back to the trailhead together, but it wasn't even 4:30 yet. I felt rushed and had a very unpleasant experience.

帰りのバスが、５時過ぎるとないとの事、
皆さんの足についていけずウィルソン株で外れましたが、娘が、せっかくだから縄文杉に行こうと二人であとから行き
縄文杉で写真を撮ってまたトロッコ道の入り口にガイドさんがいて一緒に登山口まで帰りましたが、まだ４時３０分にもなっていませんでした。
急かされて、大変不快な思いになりました。

I found a tour that goes to Shiratani Unsuikyo for just half a day, starting in the afternoon, since my flight arrived in Yakushima before noon! Most tours start early in the morning, but this one began at noon and the trekking itself took just a little over three hours. I was able to return in the evening. I had a Jomon Sugi tour scheduled for the next day, so it was a great way to warm up my legs.

昼前に屋久島に着く飛行機だったので、午後開始で半日だけで白谷雲水峡に行けるツアーを探していて見つけました！
朝早いツアーが多いですが、昼スタートでトレッキング自体は3時間ちょっと。夕方には帰ってこれました。
翌日に縄文杉ツアーを入れていたので、いい足慣らしができました。

It was a long 10-hour journey, and I had to be mindful of things like early morning starts and restroom breaks along the way. However, for those who regularly hike or trek, the path was mostly gentle with wooden planks laid out, and the pace of the trek itself was slow. As a result, there was almost no damage during or after the hike, making it an enjoyable trekking experience. Thank you very much.

10時間という長丁場で、早朝からの始動と道中のトイレなどは気をつかいますが、それ以外は日頃、登山やトレッキングをしている人であれば木を敷き詰めた優しい道中がほとんどであり、またトレッキング自体のペースもゆっくりなので、登山中や登山後もダメージがほぼない楽しいトレッキングでした。

Thanks to our guide's attentiveness, we were able to take a lot of photos and enjoy a pleasant climb. However, while the group members were nice, the age differences led to a rather leisurely pace, which was a bit disappointing. (Since I don't usually hike, this might be due to the pre-trip categorization.) There were fewer detours compared to other groups, and sometimes those with more stamina were placed at the back, making it hard to hear the explanations. I think it would have been better to be with others in their 20s. That said, it was definitely better than struggling and feeling rushed while climbing, and I believe we were able to conserve our energy for sightseeing.

ガイドさんが色々と気にかけてくださったおかげで、写真もたくさん撮れ、気持ちよく登ることができました。
ただ、グループのメンバーが人柄は良かったのですが、年齢層が異なりかなりゆったり目の登山となってしまったのが少し残念でした。
(普段登山をしないので、事前申告での振り分けかもしれません。)
他のグループよりも寄り道が少なかったり、体力がある人が後ろに回されるので解説が聞こえないこともあったため、同じ20代同士が良かったなと思いました。
辛い思いをして焦りながら登るよりはずっといいですし、観光に体力を回せたと考えます。

I received two confirmation calls beforehand, which made me feel at ease for the day of participation.

It rained a little, but it wasn't enough to put on rain gear, which made me realize how the weather is in Yakushima.

I took the shuttle bus near the airport around 4:30, stopped by a bento shop along the way, and arrived at the trailhead around 5:20.

After eating my breakfast bento, I started the hike at 5:50. The bento was prepared individually from the hotel, the bento shop, or the supermarket.

There were three groups participating, and we had a total of seven people, including the guide, for the trekking.

I have a fear of heights, and the bridge without handrails was a challenge, but I was able to cross it easily by holding onto the guide's backpack. I didn't have to retire, and I'm grateful to the guide.

The guide's explanations were easy to understand, and the conversation was enjoyable. We also got to take many wonderful photos.

When we reached Jomon Sugi, all my fatigue disappeared, and I was moved. Everyone had such wonderful smiles.

I highly recommend doing the Jomon Sugi trekking with a guide for first-timers. I think it will be many times more enjoyable and moving.

事前確認の電話が2回あり、安心して当日参加を迎えられました。

少し雨に振られましたが、レインウエアを着る程ではなく、これが屋久島の天気事情なんだなあと。

４時30位頃に空港近く送迎バスに乗り、途中お弁当屋さんに立ち寄り、5時20分頃に登山口に到着。

朝食のお弁当を食べて5時50分に登山開始。
お弁当は、ホテルのお弁当やお弁当屋さん、スーパー等て各自で準備。

3グルーブの参加で、ガイドさん含め７名でのトレッキング。

高所恐怖症で手すりなしの橋が難関でしたが、
ガイドさんのザックを掴ませてもらい、なんなく渡れました。リタイアにならず、ガイドさんには感謝です。

ガイドさんの説明もわかりやすく、お喋りも楽しく、素敵な写真も沢山撮影していただけました。

縄文杉に到達した時は、疲れも吹き飛び、感動しました。
みんなとても素敵な笑顔でした。

初縄文杉トレッキングは、ガイドさん付きがオススメです。何倍も楽しく感動できると思います。

It was more difficult than I expected. The ascent on the way there was particularly tough. I was saved by the guide's words about doing three sets of 15 minutes. I'm glad I was able to complete it somehow. Thank you very much.

This was my first time visiting Yakushima, and I heard that I couldn't miss Jomon Sugi, so I signed up for a trekking tour to see it. I have little mountain climbing experience and don't exercise much, so I was a bit anxious. On the day of the tour, the weather was good in the morning, but it started to rain in the afternoon, making the stones and wooden planks on the trail slippery. We took breaks at several points while climbing up and down. The guide took photos for us. The feeling of seeing the majestic Jomon Sugi at the summit is unforgettable.

I especially received a lot of energy from our guide, Mr. Nakaba. He walked lightly and sometimes sang songs, sharing stories about Yakushima as we walked. I wondered how he had so much energy. During lunch, he also made instant miso soup for us. Surrounded by the beautiful nature of the forest, with the sound of a stream nearby and gentle rain falling from the sky, it was an indescribably luxurious time.

Thank you, Mr. Nakaba. I hope to bring my son along for a Jomon Sugi trekking tour someday and introduce him to you! ^_^

屋久島は初めてで、行ったからには縄文杉は外せないと聞いたので、縄文杉のトレッキングツアーを申し込みました。登山経験は少なく、普段もあまり運動していないので、少々不安はありました。当日は午前、天候が良かったものの午後は雨が降ってきて、石とかトロコ道の木の板が滑りやすかったです。途中で何ヶ所休憩を取りながら登り降りしました。ガイドさんは写真も撮って頂きます。やっぱり山頂の縄文杉の神々しい姿を見た感動は忘れられません。
特にガイドさんの中馬さんにはすごく元気を頂きました、足取りが軽やかな上に時には歌を歌ったり、歩きながら屋久島に関するお話をしたり、なんであんなにパワーのある方だなと思いました。お弁当の時間に即席味噌汁も作って頂き、美しい大自然の森の中、そばに沢の水が流れていて、空からしとしと小雨が降り注いで、何とも言えない贅沢な時間でした。
中馬さんありがとうございました。いつか息子を連れて縄文杉トレッキングツアーに参加できたら会わせたいですね^_^

Since none of my friends, including myself, had much experience with trekking or climbing, we decided to book a tour. When we arrived at the site, we noticed many people without guides, but I’m glad we had one.

★ Highlights of the tour
- You can learn about the highlights without any prior preparation or being passive.
└ The well-maintained mountain paths made it easy to reach Jomon Sugi without getting lost. It was great to learn about the points of interest and trivia along the course besides just the goal of Jomon Sugi. We also received tips on how to take great photos. Since we were a relatively young group, we made some detours on the way back, but if you’re on your own, there wouldn’t be many options other than the designated route.
- The timing of breaks was well managed.
└ This was the biggest advantage for beginners like us. We could aim for Jomon Sugi with peace of mind.
- You can arrange for trekking shoes and backpacks as well.
└ There are several rental shops in Yakushima, but being able to arrange everything in advance is convenient and reassuring. I think many accommodations in Yakushima can provide lunch boxes, but it’s nice to have that as an option. (We ate the lunch boxes from our accommodation, so we didn’t choose that option.)

Our guide was friendly and great at chatting, which made the experience enjoyable. Although we didn’t opt for a private tour due to budget concerns, we created wonderful memories with the entire group we climbed with.

友人含めて全員運動習慣のあまりないトレッキング・登山未経験ということもあり、ツアーを予約しました。実際現地にいくとガイドさんをつけていない方もたくさんいらっしゃいましたが、つけて良かったと思っています。
★ツアーの良かったところ
・予習なし・受け身でも見どころなどを教えてもらえる
└基本的に整備された山道で迷わず縄文杉にたどり着けます。ただし、ゴールの縄文杉以外のコース上の見どころ・豆知識などを教えてもらえてよかったです。映える写真の取り方も教えてもらいました。比較的若者グループだったので帰りは寄り道もしましたが、個人だけだと決まったルートで帰る以外の選択肢はなかったです。
・休憩のタイミングなど見計らってもらえる
└素人にとってはこれが一番大きかったです。安心して縄文杉目指せました
・トレッキングシューズ、ザックなどもあわせて手配できる
└屋久島にはレンタルショップが複数ありますが、事前に合わせて手配できるのは楽だし安心感もあります。お弁当は屋久島の多くの宿で手配できると思いますが、オプションとして選べるのもいいですね。（私たちは宿のお弁当を食べたのでオプションではつけていません）

ガイドさんも気さくでおしゃべり上手で楽しかったです。お財布を気にして貸切ツアーにしませんでしたが、一緒に登ったグループ全体でいい思い出が作れました。

The trekking to Jomon Sugi is filled with many highlights along the way, such as Wilson's Stump, the Great Cedar, and the Couple Cedar. There are also points where you can touch Yakusugi, allowing you to experience the grandeur of nature through sight, smell, and touch. The guide's explanations are very clear, and with descriptions at each point, you can enjoy a fun trekking experience without missing anything. Since this area receives a lot of rain, rain gear is essential. It's best to prepare sturdy rain gear for hiking or rent hiking equipment. The hiking trails were steeper than I expected, so having trekking shoes and hiking socks that suit you can help reduce fatigue.

縄文杉を目的地としたトレッキングですが、ウィルソン株や大王杉、夫婦杉など道中の見所が多いです。
屋久杉に触れることができるポイントもあり、自然の雄大さを視覚、嗅覚、接触で感じることができました。
ガイドさんの解説がとてもわかりやすく、ポイントごとに説明があるので見落としなく楽しいトレッキングができます。
雨が多い地域なので雨具は必須です。登山用のしっかりとした雨具を用意するか登山用具をレンタルしましょう。
道中の登山道は思ったより険しかったので自分に合ったトレッキングシューズと登山用靴下があると疲れにくいかなと思いました。

I participated with my elementary school daughter. Since we are city kids and have never done any hiking, I was worried, but thanks to our guide, we were able to safely reach the moss-covered forest. I was really happy that we could take a lot of photos and create many memories with my daughter in the beautiful scenery of Yakushima.

There are many water spots and muddy areas, and since we walked for over three hours, our sneakers got quite wet. There are also many slippery places, so I think trekking shoes are essential for children. Although it is cool in the forest, you will sweat a lot in the summer, so I recommend bringing plenty of water.

小学生の娘と2人で参加しました。登山などしたことがない都会っ子なので心配でしたが、ガイドさんのおかげで、苔むす森まで無事に行ってくることができました。
写真をたくさん撮ってくださり、屋久島らしい風景の中、娘との思い出をいっぱい残せたのが嬉しかったです。
水場やぬかるんでいる場所が多く、3時間以上歩くので、スニーカーだとかなり濡れてしまいます。滑りやすい場所も多いので、お子さんにもトレッキングシューズが必須かと思います。また、森の中は涼しいとはいえ夏はびっしょり汗をかくので、水は多めに用意するのがおすすめです。

We were blessed with good weather and were able to meet the Jomon Sugi safely. With the guide's help, we managed to walk the way back and forth while learning various pieces of knowledge. They also pointed out many great photo spots. The miso soup they prepared for us during lunch was very delicious. Thanks to the guide's pacing and consideration, I was able to go trekking with my parents in their 60s, creating wonderful memories. I am very satisfied.

天候に恵まれ、無事縄文杉に会うことができました。
ガイドさんに色々な知識を教えていただきながら行き帰りの道を頑張って歩くことができました。
写真を撮るスポットもたくさん教えていただきました。お弁当を食べる時に準備してくださっていたお味噌汁がとてもおいしかったです。

It was tough because the rain was really heavy at times, but the moss changed from a deep green to a vibrant green, and it was very beautiful. I enjoyed hearing various stories.

I went on my first trip to Yakushima. The group members were around the same age, making it easy to talk even with people I had just met. The guide also taught us about pacing and tips for taking photos, which made for a friendly and enjoyable experience. It was a wonderful experience, and I want to go again.

初めて屋久島旅行へいきました。
グループメンバーも同年代くらいで振り分けられており、初対面の人同士でも話しやすく、またガイドさんもペース配分や写真撮影のコツ等も教えてくれ、和気あいあいと参加できました。素晴らしい経験ができました。また行きたいです。

During the trekking, I experienced all kinds of weather (including a thunderstorm!) and was able to meet Jomon Sugi safely. The size is overwhelming in a way that photos and videos can't convey! Although my body was exhausted, it was a day filled with an indescribable sense of fulfillment. I had a wonderful trekking experience, bonding with the guide and the other participants while supporting each other. The guide's explanations at key points added even more satisfaction to the trek. I was grateful for the shuttle service to the accommodation and the direct bus to the trailhead!

It was a bit tough, but it turned out to be a fun and good experience. The weather was nice, it didn't turn bad, and the moderate climate allowed me to keep my stamina until the end. I'm grateful for the guide's pacing.

We participated as a couple in our 50s. The tour had six people, and everyone was nice, so we never got bored along the way. By the end, our feet were sore, but we had a satisfying trekking experience. The guide was a woman with extensive knowledge, and we learned a lot. She also took many photos, which became precious memories for us.

Trekking to Jomon Sugi! My father wanted to go while he was still alive, so I signed up with some trepidation, but thanks to our guide, we were able to return safely! The guide provided detailed explanations along the way, and we enjoyed ourselves without getting bored. They also pointed out great photo spots and took many pictures for us. The 75-year-old guide was very enjoyable and gave us a lot of energy, allowing us to walk for 11 hours. We encouraged each other with our companions, and the guides worked together, helping each other through several troubles. It was moving when we were able to descend together.

I’m really glad I went on the tour! During the tour, I learned about the unknown Yakusugi trees, various gourmet foods and sightseeing spots on Yakushima, and the mountains. It was fun to interact with the tour guide and the other participants! The nature was truly pleasant, and it was a happy time. The bento was delicious and satisfying!

Team leader Mitsuhashi Confidante has professional skills to lead the team, is aware of the timing during the hike, and ensures that breaks are taken properly. The introductions along the way are also courteous. I don't understand Japanese, but since there was a companion who explained in English, I was able to enjoy a safe hiking trip.

Originally, I was supposed to participate in the Jomon Sugi hike on May 7, but the weather was bad that day! I changed to participate in this trip on July 7, and I would like to thank your company for sending breakfast and a bento on that day! After all, I had already enjoyed the breakfast and bento from May 7.

チームリーダーの三橋コンフィダンテさんは、チームを率いるプロフェッショナルな能力を持っています、途中の時間も把握しており、休憩もしっかり取っています、途中の紹介も丁寧です、日本語は分かりませんが、同行者もいて英語で説明してくれるので、安全なハイキング旅行を楽しめました。
なお、本来は5/7の縄文杉ハイキングに参加していたのですが、その日は天気が悪かった！ 今回の旅行に参加するために7/7に変更したのですが、当日の朝食とお弁当を送ってくださった御社に感謝いたします！ だって、5/7のその日の朝食とお弁当をすでに堪能してきましたから。

Despite concerns about rain, we were lucky to have clear weather, which made for a great tour. I was worried about participating alone, but the guide and the other participants were all wonderful people, so I was able to enjoy the trekking experience.

The stories were interesting, and I was very happy to hear unique tales from Yakushima. They took a lot of photos during the hike, which made for great memories ( ˆОˆ )/. Even someone like me, who has no stamina at all, was able to climb! The Yakusugi trees were, of course, amazing, but the other natural features were also very beautiful and mystical! I highly recommend this tour to many people!

The weather forecast predicted rain. When I arrived at the trailhead, there was a rainbow! The sun also peeked through. It rained for about two hours on the way back. I was anxious about participating alone, but everyone in the same group was also participating solo, which made it fun. As we walked, we learned various things from the guide about Yakushima and the Yakusugi trees, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Along the way, there were multiple water points, and the taste of the water was amazing! I encountered deer and monkeys!! I fully enjoyed the great outdoors. I want to go again. The sense of accomplishment after walking for 10 hours was even more enjoyable with friends!

天気は雨予報。登山口に到着すると虹が！晴れ間も出て。かえり2時間ほどの雨でした。一人参加で不安でしたが、同じグループ皆さん一人参加で、楽しかったです。ガイドさんから屋久島のこと、屋久杉のことなど…色々聞きながら歩くとより楽しめました。途中、何度も水飲みポイントがあり、水の美味しさ!感激しました。鹿、猿とも遭遇！！大自然を満喫しました。また行きたい、と思います。　10時間歩いた達成感、仲間と一緒はより楽しいと思います!

I participated without any training, but thanks to our guide Mr. Mitsuhashi's appropriate pacing and the enjoyable conversations with the other participants, I was able to see Jomon Sugi safely. It was a very fulfilling day.

何もトレーニングもせずに参加しましたが、ガイドの三橋さんの適切なペース配分、同じく参加した方々との楽しい会話のお蔭で無事に縄文杉を見ることができました。
とても充実した一日でした。

Waking up at 3 AM, the long trek on the cart path, the tough mountain climbing, and finally seeing the size of Jomon Sugi was truly moving. Even though it was beyond the fence, I was overwhelmed by its presence, having lived there since ancient times. All my fatigue disappeared, and I was just so glad to have come.

We were part of a group of about eight people, including a veteran guide full of love for Yakushima and a newcomer who had moved to Yakushima. At first, the walking pace felt a bit fast, but considering the long journey and the frequent breaks, the time management was excellent.

The guide's stories about Yakushima's nature and history were very interesting.

朝３時起き、長いトロッコ道、キツイ山登り、その先に会えた縄文杉の大きさに感動でした。柵の向こうだけど、太古の昔からそこに生き続けている存在感には圧倒されました。疲れも吹っ飛び、ただただ、来れて良かった。
屋久島愛に溢れたベテランガイドさんと屋久島に移住した新人ガイドさんと参加者の人達８人くらい？のグループでした。最初は歩くペースが早い気もしましたが道のり長いし、休憩もこまめに取るためで、時間配布としては申し分なかったです。
屋久島の自然や歴史等のガイドさんの話がとても面白かったです。

The weather was favorable, and I was able to complete the hike much more easily than I expected. I had been concerned about leeches, but there were no leeches or even mosquitoes, and I wasn't bitten by any bugs at all. There were cold and delicious spring waters available everywhere, making it easy to gather water, but I was worried about a lack of salt, so I brought salt tablets for heatstroke prevention.

There might be fewer toilets than expected for the length of the journey, with one at the trailhead and one along the trolley path. There are occasionally spaces for portable toilets, so those who are concerned might want to bring one. I have a sensitive stomach, so I felt a bit uneasy when my stomach got cold from sweating, and I thought I should have brought something. If you're using trekking poles, I found it easier to walk with one pole rather than two. I ordered lunch boxes for both breakfast and lunch, but the portions might be a bit too much for women. I felt it was just right to split one into breakfast and lunch. Depending on the situation, there might be things you can't do, but I really appreciated being able to stop by the river on the way back to cool my feet. After that, my steps felt much lighter. I was also grateful for the miso soup provided during lunch. Thank you very much.

天気に恵まれたこともあり、思ったよりもかなり楽に踏破できました。ヒル対策を考えていましたが、ヒルどころか蚊もおらず一切虫に刺されませんでした。至る所で冷たくておいしい湧水がくめるので水の調達は簡単ですが、塩分不足が心配なので、熱中症対策のために私は塩タブレットを持参しました。
トイレは登山口、トロッコ道の途中にひとつ、山に入る前にひとつと行程の長さのわりには少ないかもしれません。携帯トイレ用のスペースは時々あるので、心配な人は携帯トイレを持参した方が良いかもしれません。私はお腹が弱いので、汗でお腹が冷えてきて途中少し不安になり、持参すれば良かったと思いました。ストックを使う場合は2本より1本の方が歩きやすかったです。お弁当を朝昼両方注文しましたが、ちょっと女性には量が多いかもしれません。私はひとつを朝昼に分けて食べるくらいでちょうど良いと感じました。おそらく状況によってできないこともあると思いますが、帰路に川に立ち寄って足を冷やさせてもらえたのがすごく良かったです。その後とても足取りが軽くなりました。ランチの時にお味噌汁を配っていただけたのもありがたかったです。ありがとうございました。
