It was a nice look around.

I've booked a DMZ and JSA tour but half a day before the tour should start, they cancelled the JSA part.
It was okay. We saw various things like the tunnel to the boarder to North Korea, an observation platform where we could see North Korea... but also a manufacturer for jewellery. I don't know why this should be a part of a tour concerning North Korea.

JSA and DMZ Canceled

Reviewed by: Lexus , 2019/11/28

After preparing fr months, making two expensive hotel bookings and stopping in Korea just for the tour then being canceled due to the African Swine Flu so very expensive and disappointing but not Veltra's fault. They handled alternative tour and refund difference perfectly and Han our guide was wonderful. But sad I did not see what I traveled 8 thousands of miles to see.

Tour is reasonably ok. Tour Guide's knowledge is good. However, he needs to improve his communication and relation skills.

Tour coverage is good with worthwhile locations. Disappointment is last minute cancellation of the JSA Tour.
The Tour Guide was not aware, of some incident over the North Korean border involving detainees which might be the cause of some hiccup in the area.
The Tour Guide historical knowledge is good. However, his communication and relation skills could be improved further when stressing requests of travelers' timing space.

Half day DMZ tour

Reviewed by: Katha, 2019/04/26

Hi!
First of all I would like to give you a big thank you for waiting, because we took the wrong subway and arrived 15 minutes late. We were really glad that we were able to still attend the tour. It was also really informative and it was great that we had the chance to ask questions.
We also liked to see the tunnel and the observation deck.
Besides that we wished for more time at the different stops to check out the museum on our own and read through the different informations. It was kind of a hustle. Also at the end we had to visit the amethyst shop. That was actually not a nice ending for the tour, because it was not informative at all and it was just an overpriced shop where nobody bought something. This stop gave the tour the taste of a shopping tour and we booked the tour because of the cultural significance of Korea and not because we wanted to shop jewelry.
More time for the cultural stops would be a great improvement to the tour.

Thanks again to the tour guide, the defector and the bus driver. They did a really good job.

Interest coverage of the DMZ

Reviewed by: Rakeem, 2018/10/05

The tour was meant to be a JSA/DMZ tour but was changed to DMZ tour only in the morning due to military reasons. Not the best of starts but I kept a positive attitude.
The theme park and observatory views were interesting points as you could view scenery off North Korea. The museum at the tunnel was very informative on the Korean wall and had many good displays. The tunnel was congested and a long wait.
The train station was also very interesting as they explained future plans with North Korea and the worlds train connections.

The JSA Full Day Tour was cancelled at last minute because of the umcoming summit. Since it was cancelled the tour operator offered me partial refund and proposed me the half day dmz tour.

To be honest it was nothing amazing to visit, maybe because i was disappointed of the jsa cancellation.

However the guide S.P. Hong was really nice, funny, punctual and knowledgable. He really provided us good explanation of the current policy.

DMZ Tour

Reviewed by: Tristan, 2017/07/28

My wife and I signed up for the DMZ, infiltration tunnel, Dorsan Station, observation station, and the Joint Security Area. We were disappointed that the JSA part of the tour was canceled due to UN operations, understandable given the recent activities of the North. On the way to the DMZ we made a pit stop to an area with a theme park. At this theme park there were some war memorials. Sadly the memorials were not part of the tour. There is quite a bit of history there that was not discussed. Our first stop that was part of the tour was the Infiltration tunnel. We watched a short video discussing the history of the tunnels. There were some displays as well, that depicted more of the history. However, the display area was quite small and could not comfortably fit all the different tour groups that were there. Because of that they had to rush all the groups through. You didn't get enough time to really soak in all the information. After getting the history of the tunnel we walked down the tunnel. That part was amazing. Not every comfortable if you're tall. You have to crouch through most of the tunnel. It takes about 20mins to walk the entire tunnel.
Observation Station was next. Again it's a bit of a small area crammed with large tour groups.
Our final stop was Dorsan Station. Of all the stops this was the one with lots of empty space to move around and read the displays. We also have enough time to read everything.
Over all the tour was enjoyable.
