Excellent way to get to know the most relevant attractions of Madrid. Many of them are places you just want to see, so just riding in the bus is fine. And others you get down and dedicate the time.
Couple of watch-outs:
- Not always easy to find the bus stops, particularly in those places where you can transfer between the 2 routes. It took us a while to realize they were indicated in the regular bus stops.
- Not very clear about the timings for the extended routes. If you have the opportunity, make sure to ask to the bus personnel early on so you can plan in advance.

We used the metro to travel from our Hotel at Alcobendas to the Bernabeau where we had a tour of the stadium. Afterwards we picked up the bus for a tour of the city, hopping on and off as we pleased. We had a 2 day ticket and it was a truly wonderful experience.

Some of the outlets for the audio were so static so maybe they should be checked
We usually ride the first round then on the second time around we get off to the places we wanted to check out.

A great way to have a quick and interesting overview of the beautiful city of Madrid! Very pleasant for our group (7 families) and also good for our participant in a rolling chair.

This is the best way to tour the city, hands down. We loved the hop on/off option.

The HOp On- Hop Off Tours are always a great orientation to the city. I love the flexibility you have to get off and then later get back on another bus.

We enjoyed both routes as they were quite different. The contrast between the medieval town centre in Route 1 and the business/residential/university districts in Route 2 were great. Very convenient for us to hop on in Grand Via and covered all the sites we wanted to see. Nice and cool in the shade on the top deck.

The tour covers Madrid's most important areas. It is easy to change buses to cover both types of tours.

It would be better to explain the extended tours ahead of time. So that people know the difference.

The perfect way to start your Spain and/or Madrid trip...gives you a great overview of what you're gonna see in the coming hours/days....we did a complete circular route (Red Route) to gain points of reference and then got on and got off all day long. Second day was to return to various places we wanted to see more of. Stops are at all the most relevant places, and the bus attendants (and drivers) were very helpful. Thanks, Bob & Wendy T

We walk a lot and as the group was big and the guide not have microphone, no all listen well to the guide.

Was not clear about what really include the tour, and on the first place the group was not happy, but on the 3st place when we can sit and expend time talking and knowing the tradition, we felt better.

The guide did everything for rescue the group at the end, we will end happy. The food and the 2 last place was very nice.

We meet a wonderful people and that was a very special plus.

Regard the price, I think you need do some enhacement and that will be great tour.

it a quick way to see the city. the only thing is that the email stated that we take the email to the travel agency and they will give us the tickets for the bus.. but then the travel agency said no just to go to the bus.. at the bus they told us to go to the travel agency.. after two phone calls they let us just stay at the bus.. they really need to clarify with each other what where to get the tickets so that the guest is not running from one place to another...

The old Madrid route was excellent. The new Madrid, apart from the stadium, was boring.. wouldnt recommend it. I suggest the hop on hop off does a tour of palace, cathedral, and staduim and drop the new Madrid tour, and just have one big tour. The bus outside was cold! Heaters would be fantastic. Service was excellent. Staff very courteous and we could get our tickets straight away on the bus. Concierges at hotels should promote the hop on hop off. A hop on hop off walking tour through the little streets the bus cant drive through would be excellent.

The hop on/hop off tour bus is a great way to orientate oneself with the city.
There are two routes and you can alternate between them.  There are plenty of them
and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes to catch one.
Cost is Euro 17.00 for two days but you can get it slightly cheaper if you book online at
http://www.city-discovery.com/madrid/tour.php?id=4800.
Please note : entry to Real Palace is free to EU citizens on
Wednesdays so don't forget to take some ID along with you.
The Teleferico is a must and costs approx Euro 5.00 per person
(see http://www.teleferico.com).
Overall a good experience.
