10年くらい前にカイアウ島へ行ったことがあり、カララウ展望台からの景色を見たときから、ナ・パリ・コーストをいつか船上から是非見てみたいと思っていました。今回、思い切ってハワイ島、カウアイ島へ行くことにし、日本でこのツアーに参加申し込みをしていました。
実際に行って、大変良かったと思います。ナ・パリ・コーストの美しさを実際に自分の目で見れたことは何にも代えがたいです。できれば、コーストのもう少し先まで見てみたいと思いました。また、ナ・パリ・コーストへ行くまでのバーキングサンズビーチ、ポリハレ州立公園のきれいな長いビーチも良かったと思います。前日にバーキングサンズビーチの少し先あたりの舗装されていないところまで車で行きましたが、ポリハレまで行くのは容易でないと思っていました。
シュノーケリングは不得手で、ニイハウ島沖でのシュノーケリングはしませんでしたが、フィンをつけて少し泳ぐだけでもすればよかったと思っています。当日は33名の参加で、日本人は私だけでした。他の人は皆、シュノーケリングをしていました。ニイハウ島の景色も印象に残りました。
キャプテンもよく説明されていました。英語での説明はほとんどわかりませんでしたが。
ナ・パリ・コーストのスケールの大きさ、自然の偉大さを実感したツアーでした。とても印象に残ります。
行く前は現地での車の運転等、気にしていましたが、無事、行くことができて有難く思っています。事前の計画、準備をしっかりしておくことが大事だとあらためて思いました。キャプテン、2人のクルーに感謝します。

The "entertainment" on the way up the river was great. The fern grotto is absolutely beautiful; although a little disappointing that you can't go inside the cave these days, its still a worthwhile trip. Commentary on the way back was very informative and gave everyone some insight into Hawaiian culture.
Acoustics could have been better as it was hard to hear some of what was being said.

The weather was beautiful and our guide on the.boat was fun. The ladies who sang and did the hula were a nice touch. I learned things about the hula that I did not know. They made the excursion memorable. The fern grotto was pretty it it looks like it needs to recover a lot of its growth. Glad we went, though. An interesting adventure.

I've been fortunate to attend somewhere between 10 and 12 different Lu'aus, mostly in O'ahu, Kaua'i, Maui, and Hawai'i. Our experience at Smith's was superior for the following reasons:
1. Atmosphere and ambience: the Garden is absolutely beautiful, and few lu'aus have an ambience like this. Another good one for this to be fair is the Polynesian Cultural Center Lu'au.
2. Authenticity: the Polynesian & Fire Show, and other traditions (like pulling the pig from the earth) encompassed in the lu'au, were top-notch and very well-executed.
3. The Food & Drinks: a greater variety, quantity, and quality of food & drinks were offered here versus any other lu'au I've attended. There were two times as many food choices, and thanks to the buffet style, you can feast on them all.
4. The Staff: the staff here is so genuinely kind. My fiancee and I biked a few miles over to this lu'au and we had to bike back in the dark. Our hostess ran to her car and gave us some headlamps! It was so kind of her. We're really grateful for the Smith Family team.

This luau is informing and very exciting! They talk a lot about the past of Kauai and ancestral history. Price point at only $25 (without dinner) is absolutely great, especially for families with little ones. Handicap seating is available. Main seating area is at a slant so if you want to sit towards the bottom (closer) come early. My 1 year old even loved it and was clapping. Attire is Hawaiian style and it’s wonderful to see all the cool outfits. Bathrooms are close by and water is provided. I felt it ran a bit short this time compared to last year but it was still super amazing and would 100% go again.

We booked the Tubing Tour as a part of our honeymoon, and had an amazing time. I probably experienced this excursion in the one of the worst ways possible: it was overcast and rainy, it had torrential downpoured right when we arrived at the canal, I was just wearing a one-piece bathing suit (no shorts or sleeves), I'm a freeze baby, the tour guide wasn't too friendly (probably because he was called into work last minute), but despite all those things, I TRULY LOVE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ACTIVITY! I was really nervous I would be cold, but I was comfortable the whole time. Just my butt touched the water unless my husband splashed me lol. The downpour didn't last long either and the majority of the ride was under tunnels. The ride was so much fun. Our tubes sort of acted like bumper cars as the water pushed us this a way and that a way. Not only was it a fun ride, the number 1 reason why I love this activity is because it isn't just a lazy river or crazy river manmade for the purpose of tourism. The canal and tunnels were made in the late 1800s for the sugar cane plantations (now defunct). (Tunnels are checked every year ensuring safe operation!) I think it is a great way to optimize a resource that no longer has its original purpose. Of the paid excursions I did in Kauai (boat tour, helicopter tour, hula show, spiderman/superman ziplining), this mountain tubing excursion is in my TOP 2 MUST DOs.

自然と一体になれると思っていましたが、たくさんの人がいました。美しい道を少し歩きましたが、立ち止まって楽しんだり写真を撮ったりする時間はありませんでした。そして、グロットに着くと、とても混雑していて、写真には他の人が映り込んでいます。実際にはシダのグロットに入ることはなく、少し離れたところから見るだけです。下りの道で写真を撮れると言われましたが、道は狭く、後ろには大きな列があるので立ち止まることができません。川のクルーズは良かったですが、エンターテイメントが乗船の静けさを奪ってしまいました。
I was expecting to "be at one with nature" but there were so many people. We took a short walk up the path, which was beautiful but no time to stop & appreciate it or take photos. Then, when reaching to grotto, it was so crowded, there are other people in all the photos. You don't actually go into the fern grotto, you see it from a short distance. We were told we could take photos on the way down, but the path is narrow and there's the huge line of people behind you so you can't stop. The river ride was nice, but the entertainment took away from the peacefulness of the ride.

Beautiful river excursion; would have loved more time and not so rushed at the Grotto. One song seemed lame. Wanted time to take pictures of foliage on way down. Definitely would not recommend for wheelchair guests. It was steep and pavement unfriendly to wheelchair wheels and very steep and slippery incline uphill.
Entertainment on way back was very fun and good.
