We were blessed with clear skies from the morning of the day. Since it had rained the day before, our guide started by saying that today’s theme was "moss," and we began by admiring the moss sparkling with morning dew.

There were some unexpectedly tricky spots along the trail, but the guide carefully explained the characteristics of various trees in the forest, the types of moss, and the footprints left by deer, as well as photo spots, making the trekking experience exciting from start to finish.

Although it was a tour that didn’t go all the way to Taiko Rock, I think it was just right for a beginner like me. I was very satisfied with the guide, who was genuinely kind and fun to talk to, and who even worried about various things after the tour ended.

今回は石垣島からの日帰り半日、午後ツアー参加でしたが、目的地である上原港便が欠航でした。最終的な移動方法は、石垣島→大原港到着後、バスにて上原港へ移動、その後ツアー参加。と言った流れでしたが、事前の連絡で事細かに説明いただき、実は不安がありましたが、すんなり移動完了！
その辺りの説明も頂けて安心して参加することができました。
本題のツアーなのですが、家族4人でのカヌーツアー。4歳と6歳とで実は不安もありましたが、全く問題なく楽しむ事が出来ました。子供達も初めての経験に大興奮！笑顔とはしゃぐ声が絶えませんでした。マングローブの神秘的な世界と、そこに住む生き物達。大自然と触れ合った大人も子供も癒された時間でした。ガイドの佐藤潤さんもいつも優しく声を掛けてくれて、安心して楽しむ事が出来ました。
ツアー終了後はシャワーも浴びて、さっぱり。集合場所まで送迎して頂き終了。
最後はバスが出るまで手を振ってのお見送りまでしてもらえて大満足の半日でした。
子供もまた行きたいと大はしゃぎで帰路に着く事が出来ました。

Day 1
Since our accommodation was far away, we drove to the pickup point. The parking was free, which was great. It was my first time trekking. The guide was quite tough, but we made it to Jomon Sugi, and during our descent, we enjoyed some miso soup for lunch, which really lifted our spirits. I was worried about whether I could keep up until the end, but somehow we managed to descend, and since our group was quick, we were able to take a break by the river, which was nice. The weather was clear, and the views were amazing.

On Day 2, we went to Shiratani Unsuikyo. Unlike yesterday, the guide explained various things about Yakushima and the moss. If I go again, I would like to take my time and enjoy the moss.

駐車場は無料だったので良かったです。
初めてのトレッキング。
なかなかハードなガイドさんでしたが縄文過ぎまで辿り着き下山途中でのお昼にはお味噌汁をいただき疲れも吹っ飛びました。
最後までついて行けるのか不安でしたが何とか下山出来て私達のグループは早かったので川で一休みも出来て良かったです。
お天気も快晴で眺めも最高でした。

昨日と違ってガイドさんに屋久島の事、苔むすの事などいろいろと説明をしていただきまた。
次、行く事があれば苔を眺めながらゆっくり行ってみたいです。

At Shiraito Falls, we were the first to arrive right when it opened, allowing us to take videos and photos without any people around. Unlike tours in Japan, this one had a smaller group, making it easy to chat with our guide, Lee, and receive little tips, such as how to choose a good Hakata ramen restaurant. The tour ended around 4 to 5 PM, so I participated on the day I was heading back by Shinkansen. I had enough time to return to the hotel to pick up my luggage, eat some mizutaki in the station, and catch the Shinkansen.

ツアーの解散時間が16時～17時くらいと早いので、新幹線で帰路に着く日に参加しました。
ホテルに荷物を取りに戻り、駅中で水炊きも食べて新幹線に乗れるくらい時間に余裕ありました。
