This was my first trekking experience in life, and I usually don't exercise much. It was a challenging journey with heavy rain due to an approaching typhoon, but thanks to the guide's instructions on adjusting our clothing and teaching us how to walk without straining our legs and back, we were able to reach the goal safely!

When I saw the Jomon cedar at the summit, I was so moved that I almost cried! There were many highlights besides the named Jomon cedar and the couple's cedar, and I was glad to receive detailed explanations.

It turned out that there were only the two of us in the tour group, and with only about 50 climbers that day, it was great that there was no crowd, allowing us to take plenty of photos!

Since the weather can change quickly, I recommend preparing waterproof gear and shoes. It was reassuring that masks were required in the shuttle bus and that social distancing was maintained.

Our guide, Mr. Shinmura, was very knowledgeable and answered our questions thoroughly. He also provided recommendations for shops in Yakushima, which was very helpful! Thank you so much for your support.

普段あまり運動をしていない中の人生初トレッキングでした。
台風接近中で途中激しい雨に遭い険しい道のりでしたが、ガイドさんの指示で服装を調節したり、足腰を痛めない歩き方を教えていただいたおかげで無事ゴールできました！
頂上で縄文杉を見たときは感動して涙が出そうになりました・・！名前がついている縄文杉や夫婦杉以外にも見どころがたくさんあり、詳しく説明していただけてよかったです。
ツアー参加者はたまたま私たち夫婦2名のみで、その日全体の登山者が50人程度ということもあり、混雑がなく写真をたくさん撮れたことも良かったです！
天候が変わりやすいので雨具や靴は防水性が高いものを用意することをお勧めいたします。
送迎の車やシャトルバス内ではマスク必須でソーシャルディスタンスが保たれており、安心でした。
ご担当いただいたガイドの新村さんは知識豊富でこちらの質問にも丁寧に答えていただきました。屋久島のお勧めのお店等も教えていただき、とても助かりました！お世話になり本当にありがとうございました。

Due to the impact of COVID-19, there were fewer tourists than usual, so the walking paths were less crowded, allowing me to fully enjoy the forest bathing. The guide shared various interesting facts about the animals and plants of Shiretoko, as well as information about the lakes and weather, making even the ordinary paths enjoyable to walk. This time it was summer, but I would love to visit again in another season!

コロナの影響もあり、例年より観光客が少ないとのこと、散策道は人が少なめで存分に森林浴を楽しめました。
ガイドさんは知床の動物や植物、湖やお天気のことなど、様々な豆知識を話ししてくださるので、普通の歩道も楽しく歩けました。
今回は夏でしたが、別の季節ももう一度訪問したいです！

The Jomon Sugi tour that I had always wanted to go on! I was worried about the weather, my stamina, and the temperature, but it was so much fun and I could really feel nature all around me. Above all, the sense of accomplishment was incredible (laughs). Our guide, Mr. Yabuta, was adorable (*´꒳`*). It was easy to understand and enjoyable as we walked while he explained about the flowers, moss, leaves, the different types of cedar trees, the mountains, and the history! The spring water was cold and delicious. There were some mishaps along the way, like my shoes breaking and dropping my drink, but I was grateful for how quickly they handled everything! The information beyond just the Jomon Sugi tour was also very helpful. Thank you very much. It became a wonderful memory!

いつか行きたいと思ってた縄文杉ツアー！天気も心配、体力も心配、気温も心配と心配だらけでしたが凄く楽しかったし自然を全身で感じれました。なにより達成感が半端ない（笑）ガイドの藪田さんが可愛いかった(*´꒳`*)花や苔や葉の説明や杉の木にも色々な種類がある事や、山や歴史の話などお話ししながら歩けたんでわかりやすかったし楽しめました！！湧水冷たくて美味しかったー。道中、靴が壊れたり飲み物を落としたりとハプニングがありましたが素早く対処してくれてありがたかったです！縄文杉ツアー以外の情報もとても助かりました。ありがとうございました。とても良い思い出になりました！！

We participated as a couple. Although we were both beginners in mountain climbing, thanks to our guide, we were able to spend two enjoyable days with peace of mind.

First, after arriving in Yakushima, we received a call from the tour company the day before, and that evening, our guide called us with details about the pickup time, which made us feel at ease for the morning of the tour. On the first day, we had an early departure and walked for a long time, but fortunately, the weather was great, and we were able to see the magnificent Jomon Sugi, which left us very satisfied! We walked for about 10 hours round trip, but our guide was very kind and adjusted the pace to accommodate those who needed it, so if anyone feels anxious, I believe the guide will adjust the pace if you communicate that. I think it would be good to convey that in advance.

It was said to be a small group tour, but there were three other participants besides us, so on the first day, we walked with five people plus the guide.

On the second day, we chose the Shiratani Unsuikyo early morning course. We opted for the early morning course because we wanted to take it easy in the afternoon, and since we departed early, there were fewer climbers, allowing us to enjoy a private experience at the summit, Taiko Rock, where we could take photos at our leisure, making it the right choice to go early. We had lunch after returning to our accommodation, and in the afternoon, we had a leisurely sightseeing time, so I recommend the early morning course. On this day, there were four other participants, making a total of six people plus the guide.

Perhaps due to the impact of COVID-19, there were fewer tourists and climbers, allowing us to take our time at popular photo spots, which was really nice! As a COVID-19 precaution, our guide took photos of us with their smartphone, which we received after the tour, ensuring proper measures were in place. Additionally, masks were required in the shuttle vehicle and on the bus.

I found this experience very helpful when considering the tour, and I hope it can be of some reference to those who participate next. It was the best tour to fully enjoy the charm of Yakushima, including Jomon Sugi, the moss-covered forest, and Taiko Rock!

夫婦で参加しました。登山初心者の2人でしたが、ガイドさんのおかげで安心して楽しい2日間を過ごすことができました。

まず、屋久島に到着してから(前日に)観光会社から電話があり、その日の夜には担当ガイドさんから詳細の迎え時間の電話があり、安心して当日朝を迎えました。
1日目は朝とても早い出発で長い時間歩きましたが、幸いお天気にも恵まれて素晴らしい縄文杉を見ることができ大満足でした！
往復約10時間と長い時間と距離を歩きましたが、ゆっくりのペースの方に合わせてくださるとても優しいガイドさんだったので、不安な方もガイドさんに伝えたらペースを合わせてくれると思います。その点は、事前に伝えることができればいいなと思いました。
少人数ツアーとのことでしたが、私たち以外に3名参加だったので1日目は5名＋ガイドさんで歩きました。

2日目は白谷雲水峡早朝コースを選びました。午後ゆっくりしたいと思い早朝コースにしましたが、朝早く出発するので登山者も少なく、頂上の太鼓岩に着いたときも貸し切り状態でゆっくり写真を撮れたので、早い時間にして正解でした。
お昼は宿に戻ってきてから摂れ、午後はゆっくり観光の時間にできたので早朝コースをオススメします。
この日は私たち以外に4名参加で計6名＋ガイドさんでした。

コロナも影響してか、観光客、登山している人も少なく、人気の写真スポットでもゆっくり写真を撮ることができ、すごく良かったです！
コロナ対策ということで、自分たちが写る写真はガイドさんのスマホで撮っていただき、ツアー後にいただくという形で、しっかり対策をとっていました。また、送迎の車、バス内ではマスク着用でした。

ツアーを検討する際に、こちらの体験談がとても参考になったので、次に参加される方の参考に少しでもなれば嬉しいです。
縄文杉、苔むす森、太鼓岩…魅力いっぱいの屋久島を満喫できる最高のツアーでした！

It was the only day I could visit Jomon Sugi during the four-day holiday. Due to the impact of COVID-19, there were fewer international visitors, allowing me to fully enjoy Japan (the only language spoken around me was Japanese).

Thanks to my application last November, I had the best trekking experience with a friendly, beautiful, and attentive young female guide. I was often greeted by the other guides, who were older men and brothers. During lunchtime, I was served miso soup, and when we took shelter from the rain, I was offered coffee, which warmed me up and boosted my energy.

Since it was a private guide, I could walk at my own pace without worry, which I believe was the key to reaching Jomon Sugi. Good shoes are essential!!

4連休で唯一縄文杉に会いに行けた日でした。
新型コロナの影響もあり、海外の方が少ないので日本を満喫できました。（周囲の言語が日本語だけです。）
昨年の11月に申し込んだおかげか、話しやすく綺麗で気の利く若い女性のガイドさんで最高のトレッキングでした。他のガイド仲間のおじさんお兄さん達からもよく声を掛けられてました。お弁当の時にはみそ汁や、雨宿りの時にはコーヒーも入れて頂き体が温まり元気になれました。
プライベートガイドさんなので、安心して自分のペースで歩けたのが、縄文杉まで行けた秘訣だと思います。靴は、大事!!

It was a tour in the rain, but it wasn't too hot, and since it was raining, there were also fewer bugs, which was nice. The tour guide shared fun stories about bears, deer, and plants, and kept everyone entertained with quizzes throughout the tour. In the second half of the Shiretoko Five Lakes tour, the rain stopped, and the mountains reflected beautifully in the second lake, which was wonderful. In the afternoon tour, I was also able to see a mother deer and her fawn up close, which was moving. I definitely want to participate again next time.

雨の中のツアーでしたが、暑すぎず、また雨なのでか虫も少なく良かったです。ツアーガイドの方が熊や鹿、植物につい楽しい話をしていただいたのはもちろん、参加者みんなにクイズをしていただくなど、終始楽しませてきただけました。知床五湖ツアーの後半では雨も止み、二湖にキレイに山が映ってとても良かったです。また午後のツアーでは間近で野生の鹿の親子をみることもでき、感動しました。次回も是非参加したいです。

This time, I participated with my 60-year-old father. He usually doesn't exercise at all, but thanks to the walking speed and frequent breaks, we were able to reach Taiko Rock safely! The explanations about the trees along the way were easy to understand, and I'm glad we chose this tour. Next time, I want to bring my sister who couldn't come this time. Thank you very much!

今回、60歳の父と2人で参加させていただきました。普段全く運動しない父でしたが、歩くスピードやこまめな休憩を入れてくださったので無事に太鼓岩まで登り切ることができました！道中の木花の説明もわかりやすく、こちらでツアーをお願いしてよかったです。次は今回来れなかった妹も連れてきたいと思います。ありがとうございました！

If it's your first time, I think you would get lost without a tour guide. I participated in the tour and was able to safely reach Jomon Sugi. During the trekking, we shared laughs, which made it enjoyable even when I was physically exhausted and found the return journey tough. The guide was very attentive, teaching us how to take photos and showing us great photo spots.

Fortunately, we were blessed with good weather and didn't have any rain, so we didn't need to use rain gear. Bringing two 500 ml water bottles is sufficient, as you can drink cold water from streams at several points along the way. If you're lucky, you might even see deer!

The hike was challenging, but it became a memorable experience of a lifetime.

初めてならツアーガイドさんがいなければ迷うと思います。ツアーに参加し、安全に縄文杉まで到着することができました。トレッキング中笑いを交えながらだったので、体力が辛くなったとき、復路が辛かった時にも楽しみながら歩くことができました。写真の撮り方やフォトスポットまで教えて下さりとても細部まで丁寧にご対応して頂きました。
幸い天候に恵まれ雨もなく、雨具を使うことはありませんでした。水分は500 mlのペットボトルを2本持っていけば途中で沢の水が何箇所かで冷たい水を飲む事ができます。ダイビングが合えば鹿に会えます！
登山は大変でしたが、一生に残る思い出となりました。

The private Yakushima guided tour was great. They took a lot of photos and provided various explanations, making it the best memory.

貸し切りの屋久島ガイドツアーで良かった。写真をたくさん撮ってくれたり、いろいろな説明してもらえて、最高の思い出になりました。

I always wanted to go, but I was worried about my physical stamina... As time passed and my physical abilities declined, I decided to participate. It became the best memory of this summer.

This tour is all-inclusive.

When renting trekking gear, there is a fitting for shoes upon arrival at the airport. The rental shop provides advice. As a result, I returned without any blisters.

A major feature of the tour is the dedicated shuttle service to the trailhead. Using a regular bus has a set schedule, which means you have to stick to that for departures and arrivals at the trailhead. However, we arrived early before other tours, enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, and started at our own pace without being rushed by the bus departure on the way back.

We were fortunate with the weather and our guide. While the rain-soaked cedar forests of Yakushima are said to be mystical, as a beginner, I hoped it wouldn't rain... and my wish was granted with clear skies all day. Our guide, Ryo Takahashi from the Yakushima Guide Association, provided detailed explanations of key locations and kept us engaged with information about Yakushima and personal stories. Thanks to Takahashi's engaging talk, our walking pace increased, allowing us extra time to stop by a special place on the way back.

Meeting the Jomon Cedar was an emotional experience, and I felt it was worth coming. This tour taught me that travel is not just about going to see a specific destination and returning.

一度は行ってみたいけど、体力的に心配…
と思っていて年月が経って、ますます運動機能が低下していたので、思いきって参加してみました。
今夏の最高の想い出になりました。

このツアーは至れり尽くせりです。

トレッキング用具のレンタルでは、空港に着いた時にシューズの試着があります。
レンタル用具屋さんがアドバイスしてくれます。
結果、全く靴ずれせず帰ってこれました。

登山口までツアー専用送迎も大きな特徴です。
定期バス利用ではスケジュールが決まっているので、それに合わせて登山口発着になりますが、
他のツアーが来る前に早く着いて、ゆっくり朝ご飯食べてスタートして、帰りもバスの出発に追われる事なく参加者のペースで歩けます。

今回恵まれたのはお天気とガイドさん。
雨の屋久杉の森も幻想的だそうですが、初心者としては降ってほしくない…その願いが届いて、終日晴天でした。
ガイドは、屋久島ガイド協会から高橋亮さんにご担当いただきました。
ポイントとなる場所の詳しい解説はもちろん、屋久島の情報からプライベートのお話まで、参加者を飽きさせません。
高橋さんのトークライブに私達の歩行ペースも上がったのか、時間に余裕ができて、帰りに特別な場所に寄り道してくださいました。

縄文杉との対面は感動的で、来て良かったと感じた時間でした。
ただそれ以外にも、
目的のものを見に行って帰ってくるだけが旅ではないことを教えてくれたツアーでした。

I had different guides for Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo! I wonder if they are from different companies? However, it seemed like all the guides knew each other, and even though I was participating alone, other guides came over to chat with me, so I didn't feel lonely at all!

【Jomon Sugi】
- Even though the pace of the other participants was slow, the guide adjusted to match the slowest person's pace without rushing anyone. I think even those who might be anxious about keeping up with the group can participate. However, those who are lagging behind might feel pressured, so it would be nice if they could ask about preferred pace during the application process and organize groups in advance! It might have just been coincidence, but since I was with another solo participant at Shiratani Unsuikyo, we were able to chat a lot, which was really enjoyable.

- I participated in August during the peak summer heat, so I was worried about heatstroke, but the guide took regular breaks, allowing us to hydrate and replenish electrolytes effectively! However, elderly participants or those with concerns about stamina should avoid Jomon Sugi in the summer. Although the temperature drops somewhat at higher altitudes, it is still hot in summer. I think choosing the right season is important.

The perk of participating in the summer was that we could play in the river for about 15 minutes on the way back. It felt so refreshing on my tired body! However, considering the bus schedule on the way back, I can't guarantee that this will always be possible, so please take this as a reference.

[Shiratani Unsuikyo]
Since I had the Jomon Sugi trekking the day before, I actually hoped to start around 8 or 9 AM. However, I was informed that only early morning departures were available on my desired date, so I changed to a 5 AM departure, and it was definitely better to go early! The mystical scenery that can only be seen in the early morning is breathtaking, and with fewer people around, we could take our time. We were back around noon, which allowed us to use the afternoon meaningfully. Even though it was trekking early in the morning for consecutive days, I was glad to get an early start.

I was able to trek while listening to the guide's stories, and I really fell in love with Yakushima. I already miss Yakushima! Haha. Next time, I want to challenge myself to Mount Miyanoura! I also took a lot of photos, which became wonderful memories! Thank you very much!

縄文杉と白谷雲水峡では別々のガイドさんでした！会社は違うのかな？でもガイドさん同士はみんなお知り合いのようで、1人参加でしたが、他のガイドさんも話掛けてきてくれたりして寂しい思いなく過ごせました！


【縄文杉】
・他の参加者の方のペースが遅くても、急かすことなく1番遅い方にペースを合わせて下さってました。周りのペースに合わせられるかな？って不安な方でも参加できると思いますただ、遅れてしまっている方は焦ると思うので、できれば申し込み時に希望のペースを聞いて事前にグループ分けをしてもらえるといいなと思いました！
たまたまかもしれないですが、白谷雲水峡では同じ1人参加の方と2人だったので、色々お話ができてとても楽しかったです。

・8月の真夏に参加したので熱中症が心配されてましたが、細かく休憩を取ってくださったので、水分・塩分補給を細かく摂取することができました！でも高齢の方、体力に不安のある方は真夏の縄文杉は避けたほうがいいです。山の上なので多少気温は下がりますが、やはり夏なので暑いです。季節の選択も重要だなと思いました。

真夏に参加する特権は、帰りに沢で川遊びを15分くらいできたことです疲れた身体に冷たくてとても気持ちよかったですよ真夏でも、帰りのバスの時間の兼ね合いとかもあると思うので、必ず寄れるかはわかりませんので参考程度にお願いします。


[白谷雲水峡]
前日に縄文杉トレッキングがあったので、本当は8時、9時頃の出発希望でした。
希望日に早朝出発しか催行しないとのことで、朝5時出発に変更しましたが、早朝出発のほうが絶対いいです！早朝だからこその神秘的な風景が見られるし、人が少ないのでゆっくり進むことができます。12時頃には帰って来れるので、午後を有意義に使えるのが魅力です連日早朝からのトレッキングでしたが、早くから動いてよかったです


ガイドさんのお話を聞きながらトレッキングすることができて、屋久島がすごい好きになりましたすでに屋久島が恋しいです！笑
今度は宮之浦岳も挑戦してみたいな～！

The one-way trek takes about 2 hours along a cart path, followed by a 3-hour climb up the mountain. It significantly tests your physical strength and endurance, but the sense of achievement upon completing the entire journey is exceptional. However, after descending that day, I was too exhausted to do anything.

During the trek, I experienced some trouble with my toenails, but soaking my feet in a stream helped cool them down and they recovered quite a bit. Considering the pace management, explanations at various points along the way, and the response to issues that arose (in another party, the guide carried the bags due to a foot injury), I believe the guide was truly commendable.

片道がトロッコ道の徒歩で2時間、そこから山を3時間程度上るもの。体力筋力を著しく使ってつらいけれど、全行程クリアした際の達成感は格別。なおその日は下山後は疲労で何もできず。
また行程中で足の爪にトラブル発生したところ、沢に足を入れて冷やして大分回復した。
ペース配分や途中での各所解説、トラブル発生時の対応(他のパーティーでは足の負傷により荷物をガイドさんが代わりに運んでいた)などを鑑みれば、ガイドさんはあらまほしきものと思う。

I felt that there was a difference in how the guide interacted with participants. Additionally, during the long-distance trekking tour, there were instances of the participants being subjected to aggressive questioning about Yakushima, and when they didn't know the answers, they were often dismissed with a snort, which was quite unpleasant. It was disappointing to be part of a tour where, despite the physical challenges, I couldn't answer the questions and was unable to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace.

コースの参加者によってガイドの応対に差があると感じました。
また長距離トレッキングツアー中の参加者へ屋久島に関する知識の高圧的な質問責めがあり、分からないと鼻であしらわれることも多々あり、いい気はしませんでした。体力的に厳しい中での質問では答えられず、景色をゆっくり眺められない状態になり、お客として参加したのに残念なツアーになってしまいました。

The tour from Naha to the northern part of Okinawa Island was the only one available, and I wanted to know what the northern part was like, so I signed up. It turned out to be a great decision to participate; places like Cape Hedo and the Okinawa Grand Canyon were very interesting, and I thought I would like to come back again. Additionally, it was nice to be able to take my time at the not-so-crowded Churaumi Aquarium.

On another note, as many people have mentioned, it was disappointing that the time spent in the northern area was short. This was due to the initial time allocation as well as the fact that our guide was someone who enforced group behavior, which made the free time in the north very limited.

Overall, I was very glad to have the experience of going from Naha to the northern part of the island. I think you can see a different side of Okinawa, so I recommend it.

　那覇から沖縄本島北部へと行くツアーはこのツアーしかなく、本島北部はどんな感じかを知りたくて、申し込みました。結果は参加して大正解で、辺戸岬や大石林山など、非常に面白かったですし、また来たいとも思いました。加えて、あまり混雑していない美ら海水族館もゆっくり見れて良かったです。
　その他、思ったこととして、多くの人が書いているように、北部の滞在時間が短かかったことは残念でした。当初の時間配分もそうですし、今回のガイドさんが団体行動を強いる人だったため、北部での滞在時間（自由行動）が短かったのが非常に残念でした。
　ともかくも、那覇から本島北部に行くという体験できて、非常に良かったです。沖縄の違った一面が見れると思いますので、オススメします。

Due to the weather, the schedule and itinerary were changed, but they kindly consulted with me, and I was able to participate for half a day. The guide's stories were enjoyable and filled with love for Shiretoko. Please take me to different seasons and the places I couldn't visit this time.

天候により日程＆行程が変更となったが親身に相談にのってくれて半日だけ参加出来ました。ガイドさんのお話は知床愛溢れる楽しいものでした。別の季節そして今回行けなかった場所へまたご案内下さいネ。

The guide provided detailed explanations from start to finish, which was great! Even when everyone started to get tired in the second half, the guide was considerate and revisited the points explained earlier. I think having a guide during the tracking was a good decision.

後半も参加した皆さんが疲れてきて際も、気配りして、行きで説明して頂いた箇所も、再度触れて、説明頂きました。　ガイドさん付きのトラッキングでよかったと思います

Due to heavy rain and rising water levels, the tour was modified to go as far as possible. We turned back after crossing the Satsuki Suspension Bridge from the Yayoi Cedar Course. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Mononoke Forest, but I was disappointed that we couldn't reach the mossy forest. I'm glad the tour wasn't canceled and that we were able to experience even a little of the Shiratani Unsuikyo. Since we had some extra time, we were taken to Yakujin Shrine. We were then dropped off at Awa Port and took the afternoon high-speed boat back.

豪雨で増水のため、コースを変更して行けるところまでというツアーとなりました。
弥生杉コースからさつき吊橋を渡ったところまでで折り返し帰る事となりました。
もののけの森の雰囲気を味わいましたが、苔むす森まで行ければと残念でした。
ツアーが中止にならず少しでも白谷雲水峡にはいれただけでもよかったです。
時間も少し余ったので、もう一カ所案内できるとの事で、益救（やく）神社に連れて行ってもらいました。
安房港まで送ってもらい、昼便の高速船に乗り帰りました。

The trekking course at Oishi Forest Mountain was not too hard, allowing us to enjoy the feeling of being in nature as we walked. The weather was great, and listening to our guide's thorough explanations made for a perfect day.

During our lunch break, we visited "Yuiyui Kunigami," which had many local products on display, and the soba was delicious.

The Churaumi Aquarium had some areas closed due to the season, but since it was my first visit, I still enjoyed it.

This time, there were only a few participants, so our guide was able to flexibly adjust the schedule, for which I am truly grateful. Thank you for a wonderful day.

大石林山のトレッキングコースはハード過ぎず、自然の中にいる感覚を味わいながら歩くことができました。
天気も良く、ガイドさんの丁寧なご説明を聞きながら最高の1日でした。

昼休憩で訪れた「ゆいゆい国頭」は土地ならではの商品が沢山並んでいて、ソバも美味しかったです。

美ら海水族館は、時期的に閉館になっている所もありましたが、初めて訪れたので楽しめました。

今回は参加者が少人数だったため、ガイドさんが臨機応変にタイムスケジュールを変更して下さったりと、本当に感謝です。
素敵な一日を有難うございました。

Only Yakushima Tour Operations can take you to the trailhead without using a bus, and it was great not having to wait for a bus on the way back.

Kayaking is a fun activity for families.
Trekking involves rocky areas, so a physical fitness level equivalent to at least a fourth grader is necessary to climb independently. If below that level, assistance from parents will be needed.
Since you'll be swimming in the waterfall pool, please participate in swimwear.

トレッキングは岩場が有り、自力で登るのに小学４年生程度以上の体力が必要でしょう。それ以下の場合は親の助けが必要です。
滝つぼで泳ぎますので、水泳の衣服で参加してください。

Everyone was a bit anxious since it was our first trekking experience, but our guide, Tsugimura, shared fun stories and took wonderful photos, allowing us to enjoy a fantastic day with great weather! It was tough, but I’m glad I took on the challenge. We maintained distance for infection control and wore earphone microphones, which made it easy to hear the guide's voice and have quiet conversations with my friends, so it was very convenient!

全員が初トレッキングで不安もありましたが、ガイドの津曲さんが楽しいお話をしてくださったり素敵な写真を撮ってくださったりで、天気にも恵まれ最高の1日を過ごすことができました！
しんどかったですが挑戦してよかったです。
感染症対策で距離を取り、イヤホンマイクを装着したのですがガイドさんの声が聞き取りやすく参加した友人との会話も小さい声でできたのでとても便利でした！

We participated in a half-day easy sightseeing tour with our family of four. There was one other person joining us, making a total of five participants. We parked the car about five minutes from the monsoon and started trekking, followed by enjoying the mangroves by canoe.

The trek to the waterfall included some challenging paths, but it was enjoyable for everyone, including the kids. We loved the homemade lunch prepared by our guide at the waterfall, as well as cooling off in the pool and jumping in.

On the way back, we enjoyed different scenery, and even though it was just half a day, we fully enjoyed Iriomote Island. Our guide, Eri, shared many interesting stories, and it seemed like our second grader had a great time as well. Thank you very much!

半日のお手軽観光のツアーに家族4人で参加。
私達家族以外にはもう1名の方が一緒に参加し、合計5名で出発。
モンスーンから5分程度の場所にクルマを停め、トレッキング開始し、その後カヌーでマングローブを満喫。
カヌーを途中で止めて滝を目指したトレッキングは途中ハードな道のりもありましたが、それも子供達も含めて楽しめました。
滝でのガイドさんお手製ランチ、滝壺でのクーリング、飛び込み全て楽しめました。
帰路も行きとは違った景色を楽しめ、半日でしたが西表島を満喫出来ました。
ガイドさんのエリさんの話も大変楽しく小2の次男もすごく楽しかったみたいです。

I participated with a friend in their 20s. We added a rental option, which we could pick up the day before the Jomon Sugi tour. We took the bus at 4 AM and started walking around 5 AM. There were six of us in the group, including the guide, and it seemed like most of us could walk well. The guide adjusted the pace according to our condition, taking breaks as needed, and the walking pace was just right. We were fortunate with the weather and arrived at Jomon Sugi just after 11 AM. After reaching Jomon Sugi, we turned back and had lunch along the way, returning to the trailhead by 4 PM. We arrived at our accommodation by bus just after 5 PM. After walking for 11 hours, I was grateful for the bus transfer. I slept really well that night.

About a week before our hike, we checked the weather forecast and decided on the date for climbing Jomon Sugi. Fortunately, the weather was good and walking was easy, but it could be tough in heavy rain. Since we could rent equipment the day before, we used it to hike Shiratani Unsuikyo without a guide the day before. For those who are not confident in their physical strength, it’s advisable to consider whether to hike Shiratani the day after climbing Jomon Sugi, depending on how fatigued you feel. I felt that the trail to Jomon Sugi was better maintained and easier to walk, but it was longer in distance. The round trip to Taiko Rock in Shiratani Unsuikyo is estimated to take about four hours. Taiko Rock offers a stunning view on clear days, so I recommend it. Since we hiked for several consecutive days, my legs were quite tired towards the end of the Jomon Sugi hike...

I had heard that even beginners could go to Jomon Sugi without a tour, but there are spots that you might miss if you don’t know about them. I felt it was a good decision to join a tour that provided various explanations. The staff at the local accommodation mentioned that the Jomon Sugi tour is popular, so it was great that we could make a good reservation. The guide was very attentive and friendly, and I enjoyed hearing many stories that could only be shared by local people from Yakushima along the way. Also, since the walking time is long, I think it’s important to research and prepare your gear in advance.

However, I will deduct one star because when I inquired by phone beforehand, I was told they would call me back, but I never received a call. I was also told they would contact me about my reservation three days prior, but I didn’t hear from them, so I had to call them instead.

I think it would be a waste not to see Jomon Sugi when visiting Yakushima. It was challenging, but it truly became a great experience. Thank you!

20代の友人と参加しました。オプションでレンタルを付けましたが、縄文杉ツアーの前日に受け取れます。朝4時にバスに乗り、歩き始めたのは5時頃でした。ガイドさん含め6人グループでしたがちゃんと歩ける人が多かったようで、ガイドさんは私たちの様子を見ながら適宜休憩を取りつつ進んでくださり、歩くペースはちょうど良く、天候にも恵まれ、11時過ぎには縄文杉に着きました。縄文杉までたどり着いたら引き返して途中で昼食を食べ、登山口まで戻ってきたのは16時でした。バスで宿についたのは17時過ぎです。11時間歩いて疲れていたためバスでの送迎付きはありがたかったです。その日は本当に良く寝れました。
私たちは登る一週間ほど前に天気予報を見て縄文杉に登る日程を決め、結局天候も良く歩き易かったのですが、ひどい雨だと辛いかもしれません。前日からレンタル品を借りれるため、私たちはそれを使い前日に白谷雲水峡にガイドなしで登りましたが、体力に自信のない方は縄文杉に登った次の日に、疲労の程度で白谷に登るか登らないか考えるのが良いそうです。白谷よりも縄文杉の方が道が整備されていて歩きやすいが距離が長いという印象を受けました。白谷雲水峡は太鼓岩まで往復4時間が目安だそうです。太鼓岩も天気がいい日は絶景なのでおすすめです。連日歩いたため縄文杉の最後の方は足が辛かったですが…
縄文杉は初心者でもツアー無しでいけると聞いていたのですが、知らないと素通りしてしまうスポットもあり、様々な解説を付けてくれるツアーを付けて良かったと感じました。現地の宿の方もここの縄文杉ツアーは人気だからいいとこで予約できて良かったねと言われましたし、ガイドさんも面倒見が良く気さくで、道中で屋久島の現地の人からしか聞けない話がたくさん聞けて楽しかったです。あとは、とにかく歩く時間が長いため装備は事前に調べてちゃんと準備していった方がいいと思います。
ただ、事前に電話で問い合わせたときに折り返し電話しますと言われましたが電話が来なかったこと、3日前に予約について一度連絡しますと言われましたが来なかったためこちらから電話をしたという点については☆-１をしておきます。
屋久島に訪れたら縄文杉を見ないともったいないと思います。大変でしたが本当にいい経験になりました、ありがとうございました。

On the day of the visit, we were blessed with good weather, and the Shiretoko mountain range was clearly visible up to the peaks reflected in the Shiretoko Five Lakes. It was quiet except for the occasional chirping of birds, and we enjoyed a leisurely stroll. Mr. Umebayashi's explanations were easy to understand, and although it was a relaxed three-hour course, it was fulfilling enough that I wanted to explore more thoroughly. On the way back, we were also able to see the sunset at Cape Puyuni, which left me very satisfied. Thank you very much.

当日はお天気に恵まれて、知床五湖に映る知床連山も山頂までくっきりとしていました。たまに聞こえる鳥の囀りの他は静かで、ゆっくりと散策を楽しみました。梅林さんの解説がわかりやすく、ゆったりと3時間のコースでしたが、もっとじっくり周りたいと思える充実した内容でした。帰りにはプユニ岬の夕陽も見れて、大満足でした。ありがとうございました。

The tour guide was very friendly. It was an enjoyable trekking experience with detailed stories about the Yakusugi. They even took us to various photo spots and helped us take pictures, making the climb really fun. Thank you!

I was deeply moved by the beauty of nature after being cooped up at home for so long during the self-restraint period. The guide's detailed explanations about the plants and animals enhanced my experience even more.

ずっと自粛生活で家に籠っていたので、自然の美しさに感動しました。ガイドさんが決め細やかに植物、動物について解説してくれたため、感動が倍増しました。

The weather wasn't great, and we ended up exploring in heavy rain for part of the trip. The visibility was poor, and we couldn't see the mountains behind the lake at all. However, the guide's stories were all fascinating and helped lift my spirits. The explanations about the birds we occasionally heard and the animals that we would have missed if we were walking on our own were also very good. I would like to join this tour again someday, hopefully on a sunny day.

お天気が良くなくて、途中まで大粒の雨の中の散策となりました。景色も見通し悪く、湖の後ろにある山は全く見えず。でも、ガイドさんのお話はどれも興味深く残念な気持ちを吹き飛ばしてくれました。ときおり聞こえる鳥の声の説明や、自分達だけで歩いていたら見過ごしていただろう動物たちがここで生きている証の説明もとても良かったです。またいつか今度は晴れた日にこのツアーに参加したいと思います。

I chose this tour because I wasn't confident in my physical strength. It rained quite a bit, but the guide provided excellent support with pacing and climbing techniques when I got tired, which was really great. I enjoyed learning not only about the Yakusugi but also about the moss and the guides' stories.

The miso soup for lunch was delicious. The next day, I planned to visit Shiratani Unsuikyo on my own, and I received various helpful tips in advance regarding that as well.

I had always wanted to visit Jomon Sugi at least once in my lifetime, and I was truly moved to finally be able to go! I also want to travel to other places in Yakushima.

体力に自信がなかったので、こちらのツアーを選びました。雨もそれなりに降ってしまいましたが、ペース配分や疲れた時の登り方をガイドさんがしっかりサポートして下さり、本当に良かったです。また屋久杉のことは勿論、苔のお話やガイドさん達のエピソードなども楽しかったです。
お昼のお味噌汁も美味しくいただきました。翌日、白谷雲水峡は個人で行く予定だったのですが、そちらに関しても事前に色々アドバイス頂けました。
縄文杉は一生に一回は絶対に行きたいと思っていましたが、本当に行けて感動しました！また屋久島の他の場所も旅行したいと思いました。

We participated in a two-day trekking tour as a couple aged 68 and 64.

On the first day, we took the Jomon Sugi course. We were overwhelmed by the nature of Yakushima, and with the appropriate advice from our guide, we completed the course without experiencing any muscle pain. I commend myself for deciding to join this trek! Although we exercise every weekend, we realized that a 10-hour trek was a bit too much for us as beginners at our age.

On the second day, we did the Shirakawa Unsuikyo + Taiko Rock full-day course. There was also a half-day course for Shirakawa Unsuikyo, but we made the right choice by selecting this course! We were amazed by Taiko Rock, and while listening to our guide's passionate explanations about nature, we could truly feel the strength of Yakushima's water and plants with our eyes and minds.

I sincerely feel that participating in this tour was a great decision. As a resident of Shinjuku, Tokyo, I joined during the COVID-19 situation! I was conscious of keeping my distance, so it was unfortunate that I couldn't converse much with the guide and the two nice young men.

I hope that once the COVID-19 situation is over, many people with a love for nature will visit Yakushima and experience the greatness of the island and its guides.

トレッキング初回の68歳と64歳の夫婦で、二日間のトレッキングに参加。
初日は縄文杉コース。屋久島の自然に圧倒されての高揚心とガイドさんの適切なアドバイスを受けて、無事に筋肉痛も生じることなくコース終了。今回の参加決心を自画自賛！夫婦ともに毎週末に運動してはいますが、初心者には10時間トレッキングは年齢的に限界だったと実感。
2日目は白水雲水峡＋太鼓岩一日コース。白水雲水峡半日コースも有りましたが、このコースを選んで正解!太鼓岩に圧倒されたし、ガイドさんの自然への愛着を込めた説明を聞きながら、屋久島の水と植物の力強さを、目と頭で感じ取れました。
心からツアー参加して良かったと思います。コロナ騒動の最中に東京新宿区在住者としての参加！出来るだけ一歩離れる事を意識していたので、ガイドさんや二人の好青年と充分に会話できなかったことが残念でした！
コロナ感染が無くなり、屋久島とガイドさんの素晴らしさを知るために、自然への愛着を持った多くの人が訪れることを望みます。

It's difficult to get around without a car. I participated with the aim of visiting Cape Hedo and Daichi Shurin. Both places have stunning views, but it's a shame that the time spent there was short. On the way back, if you get caught in traffic, it can take quite a while to return to Naha. If you participate on your last day in Okinawa, you might miss your flight.

車が無いと行き辛い、辺戸岬、大石林山を目当てに参加しました。
両方とも景色が素晴らしいのに、所要時間が短いのが残念でした。
帰りは渋滞にはまると、那覇への帰りが相当遅くなることもあるみたいです。
沖縄最終日に参加する場合は、飛行機に間に合わなくなってしまうかも？
