I wasn't confident that my wife and my 9-year-old child would be able to complete it, so we requested a guide, and that turned out to be the right decision. 半日コースで短いかなと思っていましたが、大満足でいつもは体験出来ない自然にどっぷりひたる事が出来ました。カヌーからみる広い空とマングローブの林とたまに見る魚はとっても癒されました。トレッキングは思っていた以上に本格的で、滝に飛び込んだ水の冷たさが気持ち良かったです。ガイドのエリさんが周りの植物や昆虫の説明をしてくれて更に西表島に親しめました。ツアーも少人数で危険もなく自分たちのペースで行けて良かったです。今回の旅行5日間で一番楽しかった思い出になりました。又次回も西表島カヌーに行きたいと思ってます。ありがとうございました！

We went trekking as a three-generation family: my 75-year-old grandmother, my son and his wife, and my 9-year-old granddaughter. We ran out of time, and both the 75-year-old and the 9-year-old were at their limits, so we could only make it to the夫婦杉 (Couple Cedar), just before Jomon Sugi. However, we encountered breathtaking natural scenery, wildlife, and the ancient Yakusugi trees that we would have missed if we hadn't gone. It was a tough trek, but this experience and the emotions we felt became unforgettable memories. I'm grateful to the guide for teaching us so much. Looking back, it was truly the best experience. With six tour members and our guide, it was not just about explanations; they also helped us bond as a group. The sense of unity and everyone's smiles at the finish line are unforgettable! I was delighted to have warm miso soup during lunch.

Day 2: Shiratani Unsuikyo
With four tour members and our guide, we had to return early due to the typhoon, but they adapted the schedule flexibly, which was truly impressive! Our guide not only led us but also acted as a photographer, capturing many wonderful photos and videos, which made the four of us girls very happy! We were able to enjoy the tour many times more thanks to our hospitable guide.

I was able to fully enjoy the northern part of Okinawa.

There are two trekking courses, and I chose the shorter one just in case, but it ended quickly. If you're young, the longer course should be fine.

Even though it was a weekday, the restaurant at the roadside station during lunch break was extremely crowded. The food was delicious, but the staff seemed overwhelmed, and the seating arrangements and clean-up were a bit sloppy. If you want to eat leisurely or look at souvenirs, it might be better to bring a bento or grab something from a nearby convenience store.

We had plenty of time at the Churaumi Aquarium, and I felt a bit restless for about an hour, but I think those who love aquariums or have children will be able to enjoy it at a relaxed pace.

平日でしたが、ランチ休憩の道の駅のレストランは激混みでした。おいしかったけど店員さんがキツそうで、席への案内や片付けがずさんです。
ゆっくり食べたい、お土産も見たい方はお弁当持参か近くのコンビニで済ませても良いかもしれません。

美ら海水族館の時間がたっぷりとられていて、1時間くらい持て余しましたが、水族館が好きな方やお子様連れの方には余裕をもって楽しめると思います。

The guide made sure to take regular breaks, and their thoughtfulness and attention to detail were truly wonderful. It was a challenging journey, but we managed to get through it! We were able to reach Jomon Sugi with our family of three, including our 10-year-old child! Both my husband and I were not very confident in our physical strength, and with an elementary school student, we thought it would be enough to just make it to Wilson Stump. However, our guide took us at a comfortable, slow pace and made sure to take breaks frequently, successfully leading us all the way to Jomon Sugi! There’s no way we could have done it on our own. We are truly grateful. On the way back, my knees started to hurt, but it was very helpful that they lent me a support brace. The conversation was enjoyable, and I was able to keep walking without feeling exhausted until the end. Thank you very much!

In July, two mother-daughter pairs (high school students) participated. We were worried about the weather since it had been raining until the day before, but during our two-day, one-night camping tour, we were blessed with great weather and were able to fully enjoy Yakushima! We visited places like the moss-covered trees, Taiko Rock, Wilson's Stump, and Jomon Sugi, and everywhere we went was uncrowded with stunning views, allowing us to take plenty of photos.

This time, we had two guides who accompanied us, staying at the front and back of our group, which gave us a great sense of security. When my daughter's knee started to hurt, they quickly applied tape, and to keep us entertained along the way, they asked us quiz questions. They also provided easy-to-understand explanations about Yakushima's history, as well as the animals and plants that inhabit the area, which was very educational.

In the evening, we enjoyed delicious meals! We were surprised to find that they had prepared juice for the girls and alcohol for us. It was so tasty! I heard that the guides' luggage weighs about 30 kg. That's incredible.

While we enjoyed the alcohol, I learned that some people might not be comfortable with it. I thought it might be good to confirm preferences through a questionnaire in advance to lighten the guides' load.

前日まで雨が降っていて天気が心配でしたが1泊2日のキャンプツアー中は天気に恵まれて屋久島を思う存分楽しむ事が出来ました！苔むす、太鼓岩、ウィルソン株、縄文杉、何処へ行っても空いていて素晴らしい景色を満喫し写真もたくさん撮れました。
今回、2名のガイドさんが同行してくれて列の前後に付いてくれたのでとても安心感がありました。
娘の膝が痛み出した時はすぐにテーピングをしてくれたり道中飽きないようにクイズを出題してくれたり、屋久島の歴史から生息する動物、植物の説明も分かりやすく勉強になりました。
夜は美味しいご飯をいただきました！また娘たちにはジュースを私たちにもアルコールを用意していただいていてビックリしました。美味しかったぁ〜！
聞けばガイドさんの荷物は30kgだとか。凄すぎです。
今回、私たちはアルコールが好きでしたが中には苦手な方もいるとの事でした。ガイドさんの負担を軽くする為にも事前にアンケートで確認してもいいのかなと思いました。
翌朝、朝陽の当たる縄文杉を観ながら朝食。本当に贅沢な時間でした。この感動は一生忘れないです。

翌日は前日の荒天がウソのように晴れて、森の中は涼しく、雨上がりでキラキラしていて本当に美しかったです！ガイドさんが「今日の森は最高のコンディション」と仰っていましたが、その通りだと思いました。

ガイドさん除き5人のパーティで、比較的体力のあるメンバーでしたが、こまめに休憩を取っていただけて助かりました。お昼ご飯の時にはお味噌汁も振舞っていただき美味しかったです。

休憩中だけでなく歩きながら、ガイドさんが屋久島の歴史や森の動植物のことなど、色んなことをお話しして教えて下さったので、集中力を切らさず楽しくトレッキングできました！

またパーティが全員元気だったこともあり、サプライズで綺麗な川に連れていっていただけたのも、お心遣いが嬉しかったです。

トレッキング後はメンバーみんなでハイタッチして、爽やかにお別れしました！天気だけでなく、素敵なガイドさんとパーティに恵まれて、本当に素敵な経験になりました。ありがとうございました。

This tour was great! Although in Japanese, our guide (Mr. Umebayashi) was able to explain many of the things in English. During the active season for bear, you cannot see most of the lakes without going with a guide. The tour was at a nice, enjoyable pace and filled with much information that we would not have learned otherwise. On top of that, Mr. Umebayashi drove us back to our hotel at the conclusion of the hotel. 100% recommend!
