I was able to feel a mystical world in the Gangala Valley.

The guide provided kind explanations and lent us cold Sanpin tea in a water bottle and insect repellent spray before we set off. During this season, it gets quite humid, so bringing a towel and staying hydrated is essential. I was sweating even while listening to the explanations. You can't buy drinks or anything during the tour. Also, it was a shame that we didn't have time to stop by the café at the entrance since we were exploring until just before the meeting time.

I found a half-day tour departing from Naha Airport at 2 PM and booked it immediately. At Sefa Utaki, the guide provided explanations before our arrival, which was helpful when we actually explored the site. Gangala Valley offers a variety of plants and rare insects, and you can enjoy an adventurous experience by wandering through the caves with a lantern and taking in the views from the tree terrace. I wanted to go to Yakushima, so I joined with three friends. Due to heavy rain, there was a possibility of cancellation on the day of the trip. Since we were leaving the next day, I consulted with the guide about climbing until we could make it to the airport in time for our flight, and I received a good response. On top of that, after preparing to leave, they said they would take us to Taiko Rock and then directly to the airport. It felt like a dream come true!

Since the date for returning the rental clothes, shoes, and backpack changed due to the hike being postponed, they kindly extended the return date by one day without changing the fee. Everyone was so nice! On the day of the hike, it was cloudy with occasional sunshine as we set off. The mountains after the rain sparkled and were truly beautiful.

I arrived in Naha at 11 AM and had lunch, which was just the right time for our meeting. I wanted to eat at the public market, so I left the airport, but I think it would have been better to take the airport shuttle to have more time. At Masahiro Distillery, I was able to taste aged awamori and moromi vinegar, and surprisingly, they were quite easy to drink and delicious. At the Kariyushi Aquarium, I enjoyed a different concept from Churaumi. I was able to feed the sea turtles and experience fish therapy (fish that eat dead skin). On the last day of my trip to Okinawa, I booked a half-day tour (to Sefa Utaki and the Gangala Valley).

It was a great way to learn about Okinawa's history (especially ancient history) and feel the sacred atmosphere, making it a perfect conclusion to my journey.

We put our luggage on the bus, and they dropped us off directly at the airport on the way back, which was very convenient.

As mentioned in other comments, there is quite a bit of walking involved, and some areas have gravel, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
