Jim-san & Masahiko-san gave my mom and a memorable smelt Fishing experience! They kindly fetched us at an agreed time, took great care of our wellbeing and safety throughout the day. Thought us with patience, helping us to set up the fishing line and guiding us with smelt fishing technique. They made sure my mom caught some smelt too to complete her experience. Jam-San & Masahiko-san are very caring guides. Jim-san & Masahiko-san are very well equipped!We were very surprise with the different tools used during our smelt Fishing tour!

I walked on snowshoes for the first time. It was a lot of fun exploring the forest while crunching through the snow, and I had encounters with my favorite birds. Although I didn't see the Eurasian Eagle-Owl or the Black Woodpecker, I was able to see the Japanese Green Woodpecker for the first time. I was comforted by warm chai in the cold snow, and I created wonderful memories, including attempting to make snow angels. I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

We were picked up at the hotel on time and departed by van. After picking up another group along the way, we arrived in about an hour from Sapporo! Inside the tent, there was a stove and it wasn't too cold since the wind couldn't get in. I had reserved rubber boots and warm clothing, but I was fine with what I wore and my snow boots (though the staff didn't offer any rentals…). Since the ice was thick, we couldn't experience drilling a hole. The staff took care of the bait and removing the caught fish. They changed the bait and helped us with various things, but we only caught one Ugui and one Wakasa. I heard that someone in the same tent caught a lot the day before! We caught four Wakasa among the three of us! The tempura was delicious too!! It was a very enjoyable first experience. I would like to go again!!

It was my first trip to Hokkaido!
Since we were fishing inside a tent, I was able to enjoy fishing in a warm and comfortable environment!
Three hours flew by, and while we didn't catch a huge amount of wakasagi, thanks to the staff's consideration, we had great conversations and took photos, making it a really fun memory!
I definitely want to go back to Hokkaido and try to catch a lot more next time!
Of course, the tempura at the end was the best!

The 3.6km walk was very refreshing in crispy clean air inside a forest park. Hiro San made it more enjoyable by providing interesting information and small exercises along the way. He took good care of us, especially we had little experience in cold weather and zero experience with snow shoes. It was a pity we didn’t see the owl this day, but this is wildlife and one cannot expect 100% outcome. The walk itself was well worth it.

Due to the bad weather leading up to the day, the fishing conditions were quite challenging. However, I was grateful to see that the staff were doing their best to help us catch fish. Although I only managed to catch five fish in a little over an hour, it was a great experience as I got to drill holes myself, bait the hooks, and even enjoy some tempura.

We were picked up at the hotel and enjoyed a comfortable drive to the Shinozutsu Lake, which is created by damming a tributary of the Ishikari River in the suburbs. The inside of the tent was warm and cozy. The weather was nice and pleasant, but unfortunately, I caught nothing, while my friend managed to catch just one. Another group seemed to have caught a few more, but it seems that good weather and bright conditions often make fishing difficult.

Our guide was very considerate, using bait and even the best cheese-fed maggots (laughs), making for a rare and enjoyable experience. In the end, we had expertly fried tempura of the wakasagi, which was exquisite. It seems that even among locals in Sapporo, there aren't many who have tried wakasagi fishing. I highly recommend giving it a try!

ホテルにお迎えに来てくださって快適ドライブで郊外の篠津（しのつ）の石狩川の支流をせき止めて湖にしている篠津湖の「ワカサギ釣り」スポットに行きます。
テント内は暖かく快適です。天気も良くて気持ちがいいのですが残念なことに私はゼロ、お友達が辛うじて一匹だけ釣れました。別のグループはもう少し釣れていたようですが天気が良くて明るいと釣れないことが多いようです。

He brought us on a scenic snowshoe walk around Nopporo Forest Park, where we spotted an Ezo owl and several animal tracks and a squirrel too. Keeping it fun with some stops for photos, and hot coffee on a table made of snow, we definitely had no regrets taking up this trip!

The fishing facility is a small vinyl house that can accommodate about 4 to 6 people. There is a small portable stove, but since you sit still while fishing, it can get quite cold. I recommend using foot warmers if you feel chilly. The fishing gear consists of a handmade rod and sabiki baited with worms. After about two hours of fishing, we caught 9 fish among four people. The wakasagi are about 6 centimeters long and look like larger medaka, which is quite cute. The guide mentioned that the fish weren't biting well today, and I was disappointed because we didn't catch many. However, the guide caught several, so there must be some tricks to it. The wakasagi we caught were made into tempura, and it was very delicious. It may be obvious, but you can only eat what you catch, so if you don't catch anything, it won't be fun at all. If I were the guide, I would want to catch some in advance and keep them alive so that those who don't catch any could still enjoy about five fish.

I received an email about a change in the pickup time a day before, but I didn't check my emails during the trip, so I only found out after returning and ended up making you wait for 10 minutes. I apologize for that.

釣りの施設は4～6人ほど入れる小さなビニールハウス。小さな簡易ストーブが１つありますがじっと釣りをするのでなかなか寒いです。冷える方は靴用のカイロをおすすめします。道具は手作り感満載の竿に餌に虫をつけたサビキです。釣果は約2時間釣りをして４人で9匹。ワカサギって６センチ位でメダカを大きくしたやつって感じでかわいい。ガイドさんが今日は食いつきが悪いとおっしゃってましたが釣れなさすぎてがっかりしました。でもガイドさんは何匹も釣っていたのでコツがあるんでしょうね。釣れたワカサギは天ぷらにしてくれてとてもおいしかったです。当たり前かもしれませんが釣った分しか食べられないので釣れなかったら何も面白くないです。私がガイドなら前もって釣って生かしておいて釣れない人にも５匹位は食べられるようにしてあげたいなと思いました。
１日前にピックアップ時間の変更のメールが届いていたのですが旅行中にメールのチェックをしていなかったので帰ってから知り10分お待たせしてしまい申し訳ありませんでした。

As residents of a warm region where snow doesn't accumulate, I wanted to show my 11-year-old son a snowy landscape and let him play in the snow, so I planned a trip to Hokkaido. After doing some research, I found North Snow Land in Chitose and decided to participate this time.

The three of us were truly moved by the vast snowy scenery, and although we were eager to experience the activities, we spent an hour enjoying ourselves by lying in the snow and having snowball fights in the free area. That alone was enough for us as residents of a warm climate, but of course, we had a blast afterward.

We were impressed by the thrill of snow rafting, and the mini snowmobiles were fun too; my son enjoyed them. We couldn't do the tube sliding due to the low snow accumulation (which was an incredible amount of snow for us), but instead, we got to try the snow zip line, which was also thrilling and enjoyable.

It was truly fun, and I would recommend it to anyone I know planning a trip to Hokkaido.

　温暖で雪は積もらない県の住民なので、11歳の息子に一度は雪景色を見せてあげたい、雪でおもいっきり遊ばせてあげたいとの思いから北海道旅行を計画し、いろいろ調べてノーススノーランドイン千歳さんを見つけて今回参加させて頂きました。
　家族三人、本当に一面の雪景色に感動し、早くアクティビティを体験したらよいのにもかかわらず、一時間長、フリーエリアで雪に寝転がったり雪の掛け合いをしたりして楽しみました。
それだけで南国の住人には十分でしたが、もちろんそのあと、遊び放題で楽しみました。
　スノーラフティングの迫力に感動、ミニスノーモービルも面白く、息子も楽しんでました。
チューブ滑りは、積雪量が少ない(南国住人にはあり得ないくらいの雪の量でしたが)とのことでできませんでしたが、代わりにスノージップラインをさせて頂き、これも迫力があり面白かったです。

　本当に楽しかったので、北海道旅行に行く知人がいれば勧めたいです。

Since it's close to Chitose Airport, I used the time before my flight to visit. There wasn't much snow on the day, so we couldn't do tubing. I think it's a good idea to check the snow depth before going. I participated with my 10-year-old and 4-year-old, but if you have children under 6, they can only join horseback riding and snow rafting, which might be a bit lacking for just kids under 6. However, toddlers are free, so it still feels like a good deal. Overall, I think it's a cost-effective and worthwhile experience.

We are so lucky to have Masa San as our half day tour leader. He is super friendly, helpful and speaks good English. Masa San came to our hotel to pick us and prepared warm clothing (we reserved in advance) boots for us. Its about 15-20 minutes drive from Susukino to the forest.

We suggest those who wanna join the tour to take as less as you can for the backpack. All you need is your camera and water cuz it’s easy to get thirsty during walking on the snow, it’s hard to get bored, you can play with snow and animals (small birds) around.

Masa is not only good in English but also professional in photographing. He helped us to take so many beautiful and gorgeous photos and he cared if we felt too tired during the tour.

It’s not that difficult for snow hiking but everyone should know how far he/she can get. If you feel tired during the tour, please do not hesitate to tell your leader, I think they will be very willing to assist and adjust.

This is my very first time to join a tour with Veltra, they are a awesome team! They replied my questions quickly and friendly. I feel grateful and lucky to join this tour. It’s definitely a highly recommended tour.

The rental wear was beautiful and reasonable. Both adults and children enjoyed snowmobiling and horseback riding in the snow. The shuttle bus driver to the station was kind and informed us of the nearest bus stop to the station, so we were able to catch the train. I would like to use this service again.

I participated in a 2-night, 3-day trip to Sapporo in late January 2017.

I couldn't make it to the Snowshoeing at Heidi Farm, so I switched to the Snowshoeing in the Forest of the Ezo Owl.

The location was a natural park called "Showa no Mori Noboribetsu Nature Reserve," which was about a one-hour drive from hotels in Sapporo.

It was my first time snowshoeing, but I got used to it quickly. Walking on the fluffy snow was a very enjoyable experience.

The outside temperature was around -10°C, but I didn't feel cold at all; in fact, I was quite comfortable and even a bit sweaty.

I couldn't find the Ezo Owl, but there were many cute little birds like woodpeckers and possibly a Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker.

We dug into the snow to make a table and chairs, and took a break with hot tea brewed by our guide. It was touching when a little bird came and perched on my hand while I was eating chocolate during the break.

The guide's stories were very interesting throughout the tour. Even in the car during the pick-up, I learned about local stories from Hokkaido and Sapporo, which made the rest of my trip in Sapporo much more enjoyable.

When I mentioned that I wanted to go to the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market instead of the hotel on the way back, they kindly took me there.

Also, I was happy to receive the photos taken by the guide via AirDrop on my iPhone right before we parted ways (of course, for free).

I'm glad I participated. If I have the chance to go to Sapporo again, I would like to join tours organized by this company, not just snowshoeing.

場所は、「昭和の森野幌自然休養林」と言う自然公園で、
札幌市内のホテルから車で1時間弱の所にありました。

はじめてのスノーシューでしたが、すぐに慣れました。
ふわっふわの雪の上を歩くのはとても楽しい体験でした。

外気温-10℃ほどでしたが、寒さは全く感じず、むしろ汗ばむくらいで快適でした。

エゾフクロウは見つけられませんでしたが、
キツツキやアカゲラ？など可愛い小鳥が沢山いました。

雪を掘ってテーブルとイスを自作し、ガイドさんの淹れてくれる熱い紅茶で休憩しました。
休憩中にチョコを食べていると小鳥がやってきて手に止まったのが感動的でした。

終始ガイドさんの話がとても面白かったです。
送迎の車内でも、北海道や札幌の地元話などを教えて頂き、
その後の札幌旅行がとても楽しくなりました。

帰りはホテルではなく札幌中央卸売場外市場に行きたいと伝えたところ、
快くそこまで送って頂きました。

また、別れ際にガイドさんが撮影した写真を
iPhoneのAirDropですぐに貰えたのも嬉しかったです（もちろん無料）。

参加して良かったです。
また札幌に行く機会があれば、スノーシューに限らず
この催行会社主催のツアーに参加したいと思いました。

Yes, I will want to come back for this trip some day if I visit Shiretoko again. Mr Ayano the guide speaks English well and showed detail of the forest well. He knows good spot to take photos. I enjoy the snow shoeing very much also when there is a steep way that we have to slide down. It is very fun. I enjoy the peaceful forest with only the sound of wood pecker bird and the smell of fresh trees. The panorama is magnificent. And we had a perfect weather when I join this tour March 27, 2017. I wish I had stayed there longer, sit back and relax to enjoy the view with the deers. Oh we saw more than 30 deers! And meet red fox relaxing on the snow. Once in a lifetime activity one must do.

I learned how to fish from the guide and caught a lot! It was amazing to enjoy the fried smelt on the ice. I was able to borrow cold-resistant pants, so I was able to withstand the cold. I definitely want to go again!

ガイドさんに釣り方を教えてもらって、たくさん釣れました^_^釣ったワカサギを天ぷらにして氷上で味わうのは最高でした〜。防寒ズボンが借りられたので、寒さもしのげました^_^

In the morning, we were picked up on time and drove to the forest park. On the way, we stopped by Seicomart. Our guide, full of local love, shared the wonders of Seicomart with us, and we got some delicious soft water and melon soft serve! The soft serve was really tasty.

This was my third snowshoe experience. In the serene forest, we could only hear the sound of our snowshoes. At various points, the guide shared interesting stories and information about the plants and animals living in the forest, including how to make snow angels. While sweating quietly, we reached a rest area where we enjoyed tea time at a snow table. After warming up with some tea, we set off to search for the Ezo owl. Just when I was feeling disappointed because it wasn't in its usual spot, I spotted it perched on a nearby pine tree! It was looking at us with its big, round eyes. We also saw a great spotted woodpecker, which showed off its beautiful orange-pink belly.

I was quite sweaty, and the alcohol I had the day before in Tanukikoji was completely gone, leaving me with a happy moment surrounded by beautiful scenery. Next time, we'll go cycling in the summer. Thank you, guide Ueda!

スノーシュー体験は3度目。凛とした森の中、スノーシューの足音だけ。ところどころでガイドさんが、色々面白いお話や、森に棲息する動植物の話をしてくれます。スノーエンジェルの作り方も。黙々と汗かきながら、辿り着いた休憩所では、雪のテーブルでティータイム。紅茶であったまった後、いざ、エゾフクロウ探しへ。いつもいる場所にはいなくて、がっかりしかけたところに、近くの松の木で佇む姿を発見！くりくりの目をしっかり開けて、こっち見てました。さらには、アカゲラも。綺麗なオレンジピンクのおなかを見せてくれました。
かなり汗だくになり、前日、狸小路で注入したお酒がすっかり抜け、美しい景色に心もあらわれた幸せな時間でした。今度は夏にサイクリングですね。ガイドの上田さん、ありがとうございました。
