I have long wanted to see the drift ice with my own eyes. After exploring the Shiretoko Five Lakes last summer, I fell in love with Shiretoko. At the hotel (Kita Kobushi Shiretoko Resort & Hotel), I was told, "If you come around mid-February, you can see the drift ice," so I immediately made a reservation at the same hotel after returning home.

Due to the timing of my flight, I couldn't take the winter-only airport shuttle, so I arranged a sightseeing taxi through VELTRA. The driver was very kind and recommended that if I wanted to see the drift ice, he would take me to the boarding point for the Aurora boat and waited for me there. He even bought me freshly made Aurora baked goods, which was truly touching. Along the way, he stopped at photo spots and explained things, making it a healing journey filled with the beauty of nature and the warmth of the people of Hokkaido.

On the way back, unfortunately, the weather turned bad, and I had to return home a day earlier, but the hotel staff were very kind and accommodating, for which I am grateful.

Since many places in Hokkaido are not easily accessible without a car, I highly recommend the sightseeing taxi introduced by VELTRA. You can enjoy a luxurious solo trip with peace of mind.

かねてより、この目で流氷を見てみたいと思っていました。
昨年夏に知床五湖の散策をして、知床に惚れ込んでしまいました。そこのホテル(北こぶし知床リゾート&ホテル)で「２月の中旬頃なら、流氷が見られます。」と言われ、帰宅後すぐに同じホテルで予約しました。
飛行機の到着時間の都合で冬期限定のエアポートシャトルに乗れないため、VELTRAさんに観光タクシーを手配していただきました。
そのドライバーさんがとても良い方で、流氷を見るならお勧めですと、オーロラ号の乗り場まで連れていってくれて、待っていてくれました。焼きたてのオーロラ焼きまで買っていただいて、感動続きでした。道々、写真スポットでは車を止めて説明してくれて、自然の素晴らしさと、北海道人の温かさに癒される旅でした。
帰りは、生憎の荒天になり、１日前倒しで帰宅することになりましたが、ホテルの方も親切に対応してくれて、感謝しています。
北海道は車でないと回れないところが多いので、VELTRAさんの紹介してくれる観光タクシーがイチオシです。
安心して極上の一人旅ができます。

For lunch, I had pork bowl. After that, I bought dessert on the first floor and enjoyed it while soaking my feet. I was glad to see the red-crowned crane, but the travel time was long, and I wish I had a bit more time at Lake Akan. After experiencing the snowmobile for 7 kilometers, it was already time to depart. Lake Akan is really cold, so it's essential to take measures against the cold.

お昼ごはんは豚丼でした。食後にデザートを1階で買って食べて足湯に入りました。タンチョウヅルも見られて良かったですが、移動時間が長いのと、阿寒湖でもうちょっと時間があったらよかったです。スノーモービル7キロ体験したらすぐに出発時間でした。阿寒湖は本当に寒いので防寒対策必至です。

The drift ice and Abashiri Prison were impressive. The view from the Drift Ice Museum was also nice. However, the lunch portion was small. You can choose between a seafood bowl or a hokke set meal, but I chose the seafood bowl, which came with just the bowl, pickles, and miso soup. We were taken to the second floor of the dining area, and after the food was served, that was it. The staff did not come up to the second floor, and there was no warm tea after the meal, nor any way to call the staff. The rice portion was large, but the seafood was minimal. If lunch is simple, the satisfaction level might be low.

We disbanded at Abashiri Station at 16:00, but I immediately went into a hamburger restaurant nearby and had a salad buffet and a hamburger. It might be good for older people, but others might have felt hungry.

流氷と網走監獄は見ごたえがありました。流氷館からの展望景色も良かったです。ただお昼ごはんが少ない。。海鮮丼かホッケ定食が選べますが、海鮮丼を選んで、提供は丼とおしんこと味噌汁。食事どころの2階に通され、料理が出てきてそれっきり。店員さんは2階には上がってこず、食後に温かいお茶もなく、店員さんを呼ぶ手段もなく、、ご飯の量は多かったけど、海鮮の量が少なく。。お昼ご飯が質素だと満足度は低いかも。。

網走駅で16:00解散でしたが、駅近くにあるハンバーグレストランにすぐに入り、サラダビュッフェとハンバーグを食べました。年配の方は良いかもですが、それ以外の方はひもじかったのではないでしょうか。

I took the train from Kitahama Station, and I thought it was short. Abashiri Prison and lunch were also great! It was nice that Notoro Cape was sunny.

I didn't think I would walk that much, so I ended up feeling a bit tired, but the guide taught us a lot of interesting things, which made it enjoyable! The snowy scenery was very beautiful. It seems that seeing frost flowers is quite rare.

あまり沢山歩かないと思っていたので、思ったより歩く時間が多く少し疲れましたが、ガイドさんは色々なことを教えてくださったので楽しくてよかったです！

This course is recommended for beginners to visit the main tourist spots in Eastern Hokkaido! Summer might be nice too, but especially in winter, Lake Mashu has plenty of clear days, making it the best! The bus guide seemed quite concerned that the explanations during the trip might disturb customers' sleep, but personally, I think the guide is one of the enjoyable aspects, so those who want to sleep should just avoid joining a bus tour. However, as mentioned in the reviews, the one-hour stay at Lake Akan is too short. There are many highlights, so two hours are definitely needed. I would like to join a tour with my family through VELTRA again. The prices are reasonable, and it's a very trustworthy company, so I recommend it!

道東の主要観光地を回るコースとしては、初心者にはオススメです！！夏も良いかも知れませんが、特に冬の摩周湖は晴れ間も多いので最高です！バスガイドさんから、移動中の解説はお客様の睡眠を邪魔しているのでは？とかなり気にされてましたが、私的には、ガイドも楽しみのひとつなので、寝たい人はバスツアーに参加するのは避ければ良いと思います。ただ、口コミにあった通り、阿寒湖の滞在時間一時間は短過ぎます。見どころが多いので、やはり二時間は必要です。また家族を連れてVELTRAさんのツアーに参加したいと思います。値段も良心的でとても信用できる会社なのでオススメです！

I’m not used to winter in Hokkaido, so I was scared to rent a car, which is why I requested this tour. They picked me up at the airport, took me to several places I had mentioned in advance for sightseeing, and then dropped me off at my hotel. Since there were four of us, it felt very affordable when split among us.

冬の北海道は慣れてないので怖くレンタカーを借りてとはできないので、このツアーをお願いしました。空港に向かえにきてもらい、何箇所か事前に言ってた所に観光に連れて行ってもらいホテルに送ってもらいました。4人だったので割るとすごくお得に思いました。

I enjoyed the bus tour with the guide's fluent and calm explanations (laughs). The Asahiyama Zoo in winter was cold (^_^;). As the bus guide mentioned, it was difficult to see the animals from warmer climates, but I was able to see the penguins more slowly on the way back than on the way there (ヽ(•̀ω•́ )ゝ). In the end, I was so happy that they thoroughly checked the drop-off location that I almost cried ♡. I'm used to the snow, but I definitely want to visit Hokkaido in spring. I would be happy to make a reservation for the next time.

Only five of us participated, but the tour went ahead because the highways were not closed. It was my first time seeing a blizzard and whiteout conditions, with police cars leading the way and vehicles generally driving with their turn signals on. Sitting behind the driver, the experience of the tour bus navigating the icy roads was thrilling. I am very grateful to the guide and the driver for safely delivering us to our destination.

Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya were as beautiful as rumored. Lake Shikotsu was quite rough. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch. In the morning, the ropeway at Mount Usu had stopped, but it resumed operation, and we walked along the promenade in the snowstorm. I regretted it a little. (laughs)

Overall, it felt more like an experience of cold and snow, but living in a region with little snow, it was fresh and enjoyable. Thank you very much.

たった5名、雪で悪天候の中、しかし高速道路が通行止めになっていなかったため、催行して頂きました。猛吹雪＋ホワイトアウトで反対車線はパトカーが先導していたり、車が総じてウィンカーをたいて走る光景は初めてでした。運転手席後ろの席でしたので、凍結した道をゆく観光バスはスリル満点でした。安全に最後まで送り届けて頂き、ガイドさん、運転手さんには大変感謝です。

支笏湖、洞爺湖は噂通りの美しさ。支笏湖は大荒れでした。
お昼も美味しく頂きました。
有珠山も午前は止まってしまったロープウェイを再開していただけて、吹雪のなか遊歩道を歩いてみました。少し後悔しました。笑

とにかく寒さ体験というか、雪体験という感じではありましたが、雪の少ない地方在住のため、新鮮で楽しかったです。ありがとうございました。

I was very satisfied with the tour that allowed us to visit Lake Shikotsu, Lake Toya, and Mount Usu in one day, as it wouldn't have been possible without a bus tour. The hot pot lunch was also delicious. It was a tour that made me truly feel like I was in Hokkaido.

支笏湖、洞爺湖、有珠山を一日で巡るのは、バスツアーでないとできないので大満足です。鍋御膳の昼食も、美味しかったです。北海道に来たことを実感できるツアーでした。

Arranging transportation by yourself can be a hassle with transfers for both buses and trains, but this tour is very convenient as it takes you directly from the station to the zoo without any transfers. On the way back, you can rest if you're tired, and you can safely buy souvenirs at the service areas or the zoo along the way.

It's a small zoo, so even if you take your time to look around, have a meal, and buy souvenirs, 190 minutes can easily pass, leaving you wondering how to fill the time (laughs). There is a free indoor rest area, so I think it's better to bring your own lunch rather than buying it inside the park.

自分で手配するとバスも電車も乗り換えが面倒ですが、こちらのツアーは駅から動物園まで乗り換えなしでとても楽です。帰りは疲れたら寝ても大丈夫ですし、途中のSAや動物園で安心してお土産を買えますよ。

小さい動物園なのでゆっくり見て、食事してお土産買っても190分はたっぷり過ぎて時間つぶしに困ってしまいました（苦笑）
無料の屋内休憩所があるのでお昼は園内で買うより持参して行く方が良いと思います。

I had always wanted to visit Asahiyama Zoo, and the moment I decided to go to Sapporo, I promised myself that I would definitely go! However, since I usually live in an area without snow, I was a bit scared to rent a car and drive myself, so I joined this bus tour.

In the end, participating in this tour was definitely the right choice. The bus was clean and well-maintained, the driver's driving was careful, which made me feel safe, and the bus guide was very enjoyable, sharing fun and detailed stories about Hokkaido's history, making the travel time very meaningful.

During a restroom break at Sunagawa Highway Oasis, I was able to enjoy delicious cream puffs and soft serve ice cream from Kitakaro. At Asahiyama Zoo, I was truly happy to see the cute animals. I was looking forward to seeing the hippos swimming, as the guide mentioned how amazing they were, and they really were lively and adorable. The hippos' back legs were so clumsy and cute, it was very soothing to watch.

The penguin walk was an unexpectedly adorable traffic jam, and I could have watched them forever. I would love to come back during the warmer season next time. I would like to rely on this service again then.

Oh, unrelated to the bus, I had to wait in a long line to eat lunch, which unfortunately reduced my time to see the animals, and that was my mistake. I recommend buying something to eat in advance.

ずっと旭山動物園に行きたくて、今回札幌に行くことが決まった瞬間絶対に行くぞと誓いました！
でも、普段雪のない地域で生活しているため、レンタカーを借りて自分で運転するのは怖いなと思いこちらのバスツアーに参加しました。
結果、こちらに参加して大正解でした。
車内は綺麗で掃除も行き届いており、運転手さんの運転は丁寧で安心して乗っていられたし、バスガイドさんはとても楽しい方で、北海道の歴史など楽しく詳しくお話ししてくださり、大変有意義な移動時間を過ごせました。
途中でトイレ休憩に寄った砂川ハイウェイオアシスでは、北菓楼の美味しいシュークリームとソフトクリームも食べることが出来ました。
旭山動物園では、かわいい動物達を見られて、本当に幸せでした。
ガイドさんに水の中で泳ぐカバがすごいと教えていただいたので楽しみにしていましたが、本当に生き生きと泳いでいてとてもかわいかったです。カバの後ろ足がころんとしていてすごく可愛くて癒されました。
ペンギンのお散歩は想像以上の可愛さの大渋滞で、ずっーと見ていられました。
次は暖かい時期にもまた来たいです。
その時はまたこちらにお世話になりたいと思います。
あ、バスとは関係ないのですが、お昼ご飯を食べるのにすごく並ばないといけなくて、せっかくの動物を見る時間が減ってしまったのは私の失敗でした。
何か食べられるものを事前に買って行かれることをお勧めします。

I wanted to have a memorable experience in Hokkaido for the first time, so I participated in a tour. On the day of the tour, there was heavy snow, and the weather was such that we almost experienced whiteouts several times on the way to Lake Shikotsu. However, it was a completely private tour, and I was able to enjoy the unique winter scenery of Hokkaido, making it a wonderful experience. The guide was very kind and had an interesting way of speaking, and the Hokkaido gourmet food we were introduced to was all very delicious. Thank you for the wonderful time.

初めての北海道で思い出に残る体験をしたいと思いツアーに参加させて頂きました。
当日は大雪で支笏湖までの道中何度もホワイトアウトしそうな天気でしたが、完全プライベートツアーで真冬の北海道ならではの景色を堪能することができ、素晴らしい体験になりました。

It snowed today, but thanks to the bus, I was able to visit Lake Shikotsu, Lake Toya, and Mount Usu all in one day, and I am very satisfied. I had low expectations for lunch based on the reviews, but it was served warm, which was great. It was also nice to enjoy the view of Lake Toya while having lunch.

雪が降る日になりましたが、バスのお蔭で、支笏湖、洞爺湖、有珠山と一日で巡ることが出来て大満足です。口コミを見て期待していなかった昼食も、ちやんと温かい状態で出していただきました。昼食を食べながら洞爺湖の景色を楽しめるのも良かったです。

I went on a day trip bus tour to Asahiyama Zoo. I was worried about whether I could see everything in the three hours we had, but I was able to see most of the animals I wanted to. Asahiyama Zoo is designed using the slopes of the area, and bus groups enter through the East Gate at the top of the hill. I researched efficient ways to explore online beforehand, and it was recommended to go counterclockwise regardless of which gate you enter, so I followed that advice. However, I was disappointed that I couldn't see the penguin walk, which starts around late December. I think it's important to have sufficient winter clothing if you visit in winter.

旭山動物園日帰りバスツアーに行きました。滞在時間が３時間なので回れるのだろうか？と心配でしたが見たかった動物たちは大体見ることができました。また旭山動物園は坂を利用して作られた動物園で、バス団体客は坂の上の東門から入場することになります。事前にネットで効率の良い回り方調べ、どの門
から入場しても反時計回りが良いとのことでしたので、その通り回りました。ただ、ペンギンの散歩は12月下旬位からとのことで、今回は見ることができず残念でした。冬に行く場合は十分な防寒対策必要だと思います。

Due to the weather, we couldn't go out on the lake and ended up having a canoe experience at the river mouth. The staff were kind and friendly, but it was disappointing that the water was murky and we couldn't see any fish. I would like to participate again in the summer if there’s another opportunity.

Thank you for suddenly changing the course to avoid the areas with light rain. However, I was satisfied that I could ride the sightseeing boat at Onuma Park.

It was great to be able to efficiently tour around since it was a bus tour. Along the way, I was able to see red-crowned cranes, swans, and deer, which made me feel the essence of Hokkaido. However, personally, I felt that the stay at Lake Akan was a bit long. It would have been perfect if the return time was arranged to match the sunset in Kushiro.

バスツアーなので効率よくまわる事ができ、よかったです。
途中、丹頂や大白鳥や鹿も見る事ができ北海道を感じる事ができました。
ただ個人的には阿寒湖は滞在時間長かったような気がします。釧路の夕日の時間に合わせて帰りの時間が組んであれば最高でした。

Ten minutes ago, I was picked up at my hotel in a new Crown and taken to Mount Hakodate. The night view was truly wonderful, and on the way back, I was shown illuminated churches and tourist spots from inside the car. Instead of dropping me off at my hotel, I was taken to the restaurant I had reserved. The conversation was enjoyable, and I had a comfortable time. Thank you very much. It was actually a kayaking experience at the river mouth flowing into the lake. The guide was good, but I wanted to feel the clarity of the lake water once we got out onto the lake.

実際には湖に流れ込む川の河口でのカヤック体験でした。ガイドはよかったけれど、湖に出て湖水の透明度を実感したかったです。

I made a reservation to travel from Kushiro to Lake Akan, but I enjoyed visiting the sightseeing spots and the guide's stories were interesting. I would like to use this service again if I have the opportunity.

釧路から阿寒湖の移動目的で予約しましたが、観光スポットを巡りガイドさんの話も面白かったです。

I was welcomed at the airport and headed straight to the sightseeing spots. Although I had visited Hakodate several times, it was my first time seeing snow fleas dancing at the Trappistine Monastery! Mr. Terada, our private taxi driver, was very kind and accommodated my requests for places I wanted to visit, guiding us to various locations such as the World Heritage Site of the Ōfunato ruins and the geysers. They say that when snow fleas dance, it means snow will fall, and the next day, the mountains were covered in snow, and there was sleet in the city in the morning!

空港で迎えていただき、そのまま観光地へ向かいました。何度か訪れていた函館でしたが、トラピスチヌ修道院では初めて雪虫が舞うのを見ました！
個人タクシー寺田さんには親切にしていただき、また行きたい場所のリクエストにも応えてもらい、世界遺産登録大船遺跡、間欠温泉など色々な場所を案内していただきました。
雪虫が舞うと雪が降ると言われているそうですが、翌日、山は雪に街中も朝はみぞれが降りました！

Since I participated on a Saturday, I thought it might be crowded, but there were available seats, and it gave the impression that proper infection control measures were in place.

The guide provided explanations of the visible scenery and landmarks at just the right moments, and whenever we spotted animals, they would let us know, making for a constantly engaging bus journey.

At each stop, moving to the observation deck, using the restroom, and visiting souvenir shops took quite a bit of time, so it's better to plan accordingly.

We moved through various altitudes, from flatlands to mountains, allowing us to encounter a variety of colorful autumn leaves, and I thoroughly enjoyed points of interest beyond just the tourist spots.

While lakes tend to get the most attention, I personally found the sulfur mountain to be impressive and fun!

Since I participated on the last day of my trip, I was able to leave my large suitcase on the bus and get off at Kushiro Airport on the way back, which allowed me to use my time efficiently.

I also thought it would be nice to participate again in winter to see different scenery. I felt that the cost performance was quite good as well.

土曜の参加でしたので、混んでるかと思いましたが、空席はあり、感染症対策もしっかりされている印象です。

ガイドさんがいいタイミングで、見える景色や名所の説明をしてくれたり、動物を見つけたら教えてくれたり、常に飽きないバス旅でした。

それぞれストップするポイントでは、展望台への移動・トイレ・お土産屋さんと行くと結構時間はギリギリなので、計画的に動いた方がいいです。

平地から山の中など色々な高度に移動するので、さまざまな色の紅葉に出会うことができ、観光名所以外のポイントも大変楽しむことができました。

湖ばかりが注目されがちですが、個人的には硫黄山が迫力があって楽しかったです！

旅行の最終日に参加したので、大きなスーツケースはバスに預けて、帰りは釧路空港で下車できたので効率よく時間を使うことができたのも良かったです。

また冬に参加して、違う景色も見てみたいなと思いました。コスパもかなり良いと感じました。

The day before was rainy, but on the day itself, there wasn't a single cloud in the blue sky. Lake Mashu, Lake Akan, and Lake Kussharo were all wonderful. Due to a sudden drop in temperature, the autumn leaves were the best I've ever seen in my life. I was worried because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but I'm glad I participated. It became the best memory of my life.

前日は、雨でしたが、当日は、雲一つない、青空でした。摩周湖も、阿寒湖も、屈斜路湖も、全て素晴らしくて。
急に冷え込んだため、紅葉が、いままでの人生の中で最高でした。コロナ禍で心配していましたが、参加して良かったです。人生最高の想い出になりました。

The state of emergency has been lifted, and I was finally able to board the Pirika. The guide was still young and full of energy, but it was clear that they were doing their best. The measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus were standard (nowadays, it's expected). Passengers were also taking individual precautions, so I felt particularly at ease. I really understood the charm of Kushiro.

緊急事態宣言が解除され、ようやくピリカ号に乗る事が出来ました。
ガイドさんはまだ若く、若さ満載の案内でしたが、一生懸命なのは伝わってきました。
新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大対策は、普通（今や当たり前）でした。乗客も個人で対策しているので、特に不安はありません。
釧路の良さがよくわかりました。

I decided to join this tour because I thought it would be the most efficient way to visit the three major lakes, which I wouldn't be able to do on my own. As a result, I was able to successfully visit all three lakes, which was great. The guide also shared a lot of interesting information.

However, to see the natural marimo at Lake Akan, I realized that I would have to give up the return tour bus due to time constraints (I think if we had arrived about 15 minutes earlier, we could have made it). I also wanted to see the Ainu traditional dance, but the information on the website stated it was at 1:30 PM, and when we got there, it was only available after 3 PM. Consequently, I couldn't board the sightseeing boat (I could have taken a regular bus back, but I had plans in Kushiro after 5 PM, so that wasn't an option), and I missed the Ainu dance as well. At Lake Akan, I spent almost two hours just having lunch and looking at souvenirs (there was also a suggestion for a day-use hot spring, but I was staying at a hotel with hot springs), so I thought it would have been nice if there were more activities at Lake Akan introduced in the brochure.

That said, for those staying at Lake Akan Onsen, heading to the airport, or those who don't mind returning by regular bus after taking the sightseeing boat, the tour was flexible and I think it's a great option for them. I understand there are various circumstances, but I believe it would be enjoyable for those who have visited Kushiro multiple times if you could consider organizing afternoon and morning tours focusing on specific locations.

3大湖を回るということで、このツアーほど効率よく個人では回れないと思いましたので参加させていただきました。結果3大湖はきちんと制覇できました。
そこはとても良かったです。そしてガイドさんも丁寧に色々なお話もされていました。
ただ、阿寒湖は天然のまりもを見る観光船に乗るには時間的にやはり帰りのツアーバスを諦めるしかないのと（これは時間の都合だと思うのですが、後15分位早く到着すれば乗れるのでは？）、アイヌの伝統舞踊を見たかったのですが、HPの情報では1330と書かれていましたが、現地に行くと15時以降しかなくて、結果、観光船にも乗れず（普通のバスで帰ることはできるのですが、釧路で17時以降に予定があった為無理でした）、アイヌの踊りも見られなかったので、阿寒湖のアクテビティが2時間ほとんどお昼を食べて、お土産物を見るくらいしかなく（日帰り温泉の紹介もありましたが、温泉つきのホテルに泊まっていたので）、もう少し阿寒湖でできるアクティビティをパンフレットとかで紹介してくだされば、楽しめてよかったのかなと思いました。
それでも、阿寒湖温泉に宿泊される方、空港に向かわれる方、観光船に乗って普通のバスで帰って来られる事が時間的に構わない方が現地解散など、臨機応変でしたし、そういう方にはとてもいいツアーだと思います。
色々事情があるとは思いますが、場所を絞って午後ツアーとか、午前ツアーとか分けて開催とか検討していただければ、何度か釧路に行かれた方も楽しめるのではないでしょうか？

This was my second time using the service. Last time, the weather was terrible with a storm, but this time, we had amazing weather! I didn't realize Lake Mashu could be so beautiful since I couldn't see anything due to the storm and fog last time...

I also thoroughly enjoyed the early autumn scenery of Lake Akan on the course that included a stop at the hot springs.

Considering that this tour involves traveling by local bus, I think it's very cost-effective!

阿寒湖温泉下車のコースで初秋の阿寒湖も満喫させていただきました。

このツアー、路線バスで移動することを考えるとコスパはとても良いと思います！
