The day before, I received notice that due to weather conditions, the SUP at Kawahira Bay would be changed to mangrove SUP at Miyara River. We took a boat, and by that time, the sun started to peek through, making the sea look beautiful. Upon arriving at Phantom Island, we explored the island for a while. The sea was blue, and the island had beautiful white coral sand, which was wonderful.
After that, we moved to a different spot for snorkeling, putting on life jackets and wetsuits before entering the water. Wearing the wetsuit made the water feel not too cold. Following the guide, we swam in the coral sea. The water was incredibly clear, and I could see colorful fish swimming beneath the surface. It was an experience that is hard to come by, and I’m glad I participated.
If I have the chance to come back to Ishigaki Island, I would like to try the SUP at Kawahira Bay that I missed this time. It was a fantastic tour. Thank you very much!

当日はやや曇天でしたが、2月下旬でも暖かい日でした。
宮良川に向かうバスの中ではガイドさんから石垣島についての楽しい話をしていただきました。
宮良川に到着しSUPやカヌーについての説明を聞き、川に乗り出しました。
SUPを漕いでマングローブの川を進むのは景色もよく気持ちよかったです。
初めてのSUPで私は何度か落ちてしまいましたが、ほかの方達は落ちることなく上手に乗っていました。
水に落ちてもそんなに寒くなくてよかったです。2月なのにさすが石垣島です。
SUPの後は、離島ターミナルで一度解散して昼食をとり、幻の島へ向かいました。
船で向かいましたが、その頃から晴れ間も見えて海がきれいでした。
幻の島に到着し、しばらく島を散策しました。
海は青く、きれいな白いサンゴ砂の島で素晴らしかったです。
その後シュノーケリングのために場所を移動して、ライフジャケット＋ウェットスーツで海に入りました。
ウェットスーツを着ると、水の中もそこまで寒くなかったです。
ガイドさんに付いてサンゴの海を泳ぎました。海はとても綺麗で、海中には綺麗な色の魚が泳いでいるのが見えました。
なかなかできない体験でした。参加してよかったです。
また石垣島に来ることがあれば、今回できなかった川平湾のSUPもしてみたいです。

The distance for kayaking round trip was just long enough, allowing us to get accustomed to the paddling while enjoying the scenery and listening to our guide's stories at a leisurely pace. The hiking time was just right, and we could really feel a sense of accomplishment when we reached the waterfall! The rice balls at the base of the waterfall were the best (the way they were shaped and the saltiness were perfect!).

During our first snorkeling experience, both my wife and I were very anxious, but the staff, Roy and Mayu, were incredibly kind and taught us a lot. This was my first trip to Okinawa, and it was also my first experience with sea activities, so my wife and I were really looking forward to it. 最後に、3月ということもあり、シュノーケル、カヤック共にやや寒かったです。
3月、4月に行かれる際は、替えの服やバスタオルは必須かと思われます。一応、運営側から温水を頂けましたが、暖かいのは一瞬ですぐに風による寒さが体を蝕みます。一刻も早い保温と着替えをオススメします笑

ガイドさんがたくさん撮影してくださるので携帯は無くてもいいです。

In the morning, I participated in a mangrove kayaking activity, and in the afternoon, I went snorkeling in the Blue Cave.
