In the morning, I participated in a canoeing and trekking tour, and in the afternoon, I joined a snorkeling tour. The Pinai Sara Falls had a lot of water at that time, making it very impressive. I was thrilled to encounter a sea turtle during snorkeling, which was a long-held dream of mine. You can swim alongside beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish! Just before the end of the rainy season, the weather was clear. It was hot and humid, which was a bit tough, but I had a very enjoyable day. I participated in a day trip from Ishigaki Island. I was picked up at the port and taken to a nearby shop to prepare for the kayaking tour. As a beginner in kayaking, I received thorough instructions and was able to enjoy the experience.
We paddled along a majestic river, taking breaks along the way to hear about the mangroves, which left me impressed by the strength and beauty of nature. We kayaked to the trekking point, and from there, we walked towards the Pinaisara Falls. Climbing and navigating rocky areas was a bit challenging for us, as we are not very active, but it was a lot of fun as we took photos at beautiful spots.
Our guide, Mr. Iwamoto, was very knowledgeable about the mountains and shared stories about various creatures and plants. When we arrived at Pinaisara Falls after walking the mountain path, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. The falls, with plenty of water from the previous day's rain, were truly magnificent, and I enjoyed the great outdoors while cooling off in the waterfall pool.
We returned the way we came, floating down the mangrove river, which showed a different face than on the way in, and went back to the shop to enjoy handmade Yaeyama soba. The gentle broth was soothing to our tired bodies. There is also a supermarket nearby where you can buy snacks and souvenirs. The pineapple ice cream on a stick that I bought here was very delicious.
After lunch, we headed to Barasu Island, where we picked up coral and took commemorative photos before heading to a nearby snorkeling spot. I was very moved to see beautiful coral reefs, colorful fish, and, if lucky, even a sea turtle. We were guided to spots with anemones where Nemo lives, large table corals, and beautiful coral areas, and time flew by. We also had underwater photos taken, creating wonderful memories of snorkeling.
It was a packed tour, so we didn't have much time to take photos ourselves, but Mr. Iwamoto used a 360-degree camera, a regular camera, and an underwater camera to take many pictures, allowing us to reminisce as we looked back at them.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience. I hope to participate again while my parents are still healthy.
石垣島から日帰りで参加しました。
港までお迎えに来ていただいて近くのお店へ、準備をしてさっそくカヤックツアーの開始です。
カヤック初心者でしたが、しっかりレクチャーをうけ楽しんで進むことが出来ました。
雄大な川を進み途中休憩をはさみながら、マングローブのお話を聞いて、自然の強さ素晴らしさに感銘を受けました。
カヤックでトレッキングのポイントまで進み、そこからは歩いてピナイサーラの滝を目指します。
途中手をついて登ったり、岩場をアップダウンしながら進むので普段運動不足の私たちにはちょっぴりハードでしたが、素敵なポイントで写真を撮ってくれるのでとっても楽しかったです。
ガイドの岩本さんはさすがに山を熟知しておられ、いろんな生き物や植物のお話を聞かせてくださりました。
山道を歩いてピナイサーラの滝に到着した時にはすごく達成感がありました。
前日の雨で水量たっぷりのピナイサーラの滝は本当に素晴らしく、滝つぼで体をクールダウンさせながら大自然を満喫しました。
来た道を戻り、行きとは違った表情を見せるマングローブの川を下ってお店に戻って、手作りの八重山そばをいただきました。
疲れた体に優しいおだしが染み入ります。。。
近くにスーパーもあるのでスナックやお土産も購入できます。
こちらで購入したパイナップルを串に刺したアイスがとってもおいしかったです。
昼食後はバラス島へ、こちらでは珊瑚を拾ったり記念撮影をし、近くのシュノーケリングスポットへ向かいます。
美しいサンゴ畑や色とりどりの魚、運よくウミガメにも会うことができてとても感動しました。
ニモの住むイソギンチャクや、大きなテーブル珊瑚、きれいな珊瑚のスポットにも案内していただいて、あっという間に時間が過ぎました。
水中カメラでも撮影をしてくださったので、楽しいシュノーケリングの思い出が出来ました。
盛りだくさんのツアーなので、自分たちではなかなか写真を撮る余裕もないのですが、あちらこちらで360度カメラや普通のカメラ、水中カメラを駆使して岩本さんがたくさん写真を撮ってくださったので、見返しては思い出に浸っています。
本当に素敵な体験をさせていただきありがとうございました。
また両親が元気なうちに一緒に参加できたらと思います。

Initially, I was scheduled to go to Balas Island, but due to weather conditions, it was changed to caving and canyoning. The mangroves were breathtaking. I was truly moved. Canyoning was a bit scary, but I was able to fully enjoy the great outdoors, something I don't experience in my daily life. The guide was fun and interesting, and the photos they took were all wonderful.
However, due to the state of emergency, most of the recommended shops were closed during the day, which was disappointing. I think it would be very helpful if you could do some research in advance.
当初バラス島に行く予定でしたが、天候の影響によりケービングとキャニオニングに変更になりました。マングローブは圧巻でした。感動しました。キャニオニングは少し怖かったですが、日常で味わうことのない大自然を満喫できました。ガイドの方が楽しく面白く説明してくださり、撮ってくださった写真も素晴らしいものばかりでした。
ただ、緊急事態宣言下ということもあり、昼にお勧めして頂いたお店がほとんど閉まっており、残念でした。事前に調査して頂けるととても助かると思います。

I participated in a day trip from Ishigaki Island. The waves were calm, and the boat ride was hardly shaky, which heightened my expectations for snorkeling at Barasu Island. Upon arriving at the Uehara Port on Iriomote Island, I quickly met up with the tour guide. Due to the tides, we were scheduled to visit Barasu Island in the morning and go mangrove canoeing in the afternoon. I borrowed the necessary equipment and boarded the boat. Onboard, the guide carefully explained how to use the equipment, making it easy for beginners to understand. After about ten minutes, we arrived at Barasu Island. Unfortunately, the island was not visible above the water that day, but the shallow waters reached up to my knees, and I could really feel that this was Barasu Island. We then began snorkeling. The water was very clear, and I was able to see colorful fish gathered around the coral reefs. Additionally, I was lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle while it was feeding. After finishing snorkeling, we returned to Uehara Port for lunch. We ate at a diner near the port and prepared for the canoe tour. After a short drive, the canoe tour began. Guided by our guide's thorough explanations, we paddled up the Kura River. The guide provided insights about the flora and fauna along the way, which was very educational. I was able to experience the unique mangrove forests of Iriomote Island through kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, as well as trekking to appreciate the abundant nature of the island. If I had gone to Iriomote Island on my own without participating in such a tour, I wouldn't have felt that connection to nature. I was also thrilled to go snorkeling at Barasu Island, which I had longed to visit. This is definitely a place you can't easily reach on your own. The tour fees were quite high, but it was worth it. If I could wish for more, I would have liked to try free diving at Barasu (laughs).
西表島ならではのマングローブ林カヤックやSUP,、トレッキングで西表島の溢れる自然を確認できました。このようなツアーに参加せず個人で西表島に行ってもそんな自然は感じられなかったでしょう。 そしてバラス島に憧れていたのでシュノーケリングできて嬉しかったです。 これも個人ではまず行けないところです。 ツアー代金はけっこうかかりますがその価値はありました。 欲を言えばバラスで素潜りしたかった(笑)

I participated in a plan that included a limestone cave, SUP, and canyoning. Initially, the plan was to land on Barasu Island, but due to weather conditions, it was changed to canyoning.
I was a bit anxious since I had never done SUP before, but I was able to paddle happily without falling, even as a beginner! The guide taught us various things about the unique nature of Iriomote Island, including insects, lizards, flowers, and trees, which was very meaningful.
Canyoning involved diving into waterfalls, swimming, and sliding down, which was scary but felt amazing! You will basically get wet! I recommend using a waterproof camera. However, the guide took plenty of photos and sent the data on the same day, so it was all good.
鍾乳洞&SUP&キャニオニングのプランに参加しました。当初、バラス島上陸のプランでしたが、天候の都合によりキャニオニングに変更になりました。

I participated with two friends as a final memory of my 50s. It was my first experience with stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and I was able to stand up and paddle through a river lined with mangroves. Along the way, we went trekking and explored the jungle while wading up to our waists! I also saw the "sagaribana," which can only be seen once a year, for the first time. At the Kuura Falls, I was able to recharge my energy. Our guide was kind and interacted with us, who were moving at a slower pace, with a smile while explaining various things as we progressed.
Snorkeling at Balas Island was also wonderful; we enjoyed the beautiful sea with coral and tropical fish, and we even encountered a turtle. It was definitely an experience worth having at least once in a lifetime.

初めてのSUP体験でしたが立つこともできマングローブの生い茂る川を進み、途中トレッキングで腰まで浸かりながらジャングル探検！年に一度しか見れない「サガリバナ」も初めて見ました。クーラ滝ではいっぱいパワーチャージできました。ガイドさんも親切でペースの遅い私たちにも笑顔で接し色々説明しながら進んでくれました。

I participated because I was interested in the canoe experience and Pinai Sara Falls. Once I got used to it, the scenery was beautiful with mangrove forests lining both sides of the river. The view from the top of the falls was great, and jumping into the plunge pool felt refreshing, helping to relieve the fatigue from trekking.

Due to poor sea conditions on the day, we were unable to go to Barasu Island, so we received a refund of 3,000 yen and instead participated in the SUP and cave tour. The SUP was difficult to balance on, and I capsized several times, but once I got used to it, I was able to paddle and enjoyed it. The cave exploration introduced on Itte Q had some formations that showed how stalactites are formed, which was great. On the way to the cave, there was a tunnel where the Iriomote cat passes through.

During my second visit to Ishigaki Island, I participated in a tour to enjoy mangrove exploration with SUP on Iriomote Island. It was my first time on a SUP, but I felt reassured as I received proper instructions. I managed to maintain my balance quite well, allowing me to stand, sit, and even lie down, which let me appreciate the mangroves from various angles. I didn't fall in (not me, haha)!
The limestone cave, which I thought would be just a bonus, turned out to be so interesting that it could have been the main attraction. There were no handrails, it was narrow and dark, and we passed through three caves. By the end, we really had to crawl out, making it a thrilling exploration. It was the perfect way to enjoy the nature of Iriomote Island.
Our guide provided fascinating explanations about various plants and animals, and he was attentive to everyone. Since it was a small group, it made for a fun and lively tour. The guide took over 100 photos, capturing many great shots that became wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

2度目の石垣島訪問で今回は西表島でSUPでマングローブ巡りを満喫したくてツアーに参加しました。
SUPは初めてだったけれど、きちんと教えてもらえたので安心だったし、結構バランスは取れて、たったり座ったり寝転んだりできるので、いろんな角度でマングローブが楽しめました。落ちなかったし(私はww)！
そしておまけのつもりの鍾乳洞が、実はメインにしてもいいくらい面白かった。手すりなんてないし狭いし暗いし、三箇所の鍾乳洞を通ったけれど最後はほんとに這いつくばって出るしかなくて、探検隊満喫しました。西表島の自然を楽しむには最高です。
ガイドさんは色々な植物とか動物を説明してくれて面白かったし、皆んなに気を配ってくれて、少人数ということもあってわいわいとした楽しいツアーでした。
100枚以上の写真を撮ってくれたガイドさん、ベストショットが沢山あって良い思い出になりました。ありがとうございました。
コメントしてないバラス島上陸はまあ、、でもボートが楽しかったし海はきれいだったので、次回シュノーケリングを楽しみにとっておきます。

They quickly accommodated my last-minute reservation the day before. During the first half of the snorkeling, I was able to swim with the blue corals and many fish swimming around them. In the second half, we progressed through the jungle on a stand-up paddleboard and then trekked to a waterfall. The weather was great, and it was the best experience. This was my third time on Iriomote Island, and I finally got to visit Barasu Island. Depending on the weather, it can be inaccessible, but this time I was able to go! It was about a 10-minute ride from the port on a cruiser. I got to sit at the very front, which made me feel like a dolphin, and that was fun!
Barasu Island is formed from coral, and part of it was submerged due to high sea levels, but the surrounding water was clear and beautiful. I was happy to participate as planned despite the heavy rain the day before, which made it uncertain if we could go to Barasu Island. The main purpose of this trip was Barasu Island, but since we went around high tide, it felt more like standing on an island that was sinking into the sea! The water was beautiful, and the snorkeling was done at a pace that checked in with the participants, which made me feel at ease. It was a pity that I couldn't see any turtles, but I want to try again!
The canoeing in the mangroves was more fun than I imagined, with plants and insects I had never seen before. Paddleboarding while watching the mangroves along the Kura River was exciting and fun. They also lent us shoes, so we could take a light trek to Kura Falls. Additionally, our guide (Mu-san) was a funny guy who kept the atmosphere lively, which was great.
The weather was nice, so we really enjoyed snorkeling at Balas Island. Although we didn't see any sea turtles, we were able to see plenty of coral and beautiful fish.
I thought the photo service was really nice. They took not only commemorative photos but also candid shots, making it a memorable experience.

On the day of the tour, we were blessed with good weather and were able to see the enchanting mangrove forest and beautiful, colorful corals. Additionally, the staff's friendliness and thoughtfulness were wonderful, and I had a great time throughout the experience.

On the day of the trip, there were some waves, and we stayed at Barasu Island for just a few minutes. It might be difficult for those who are not good at swimming to enjoy snorkeling.
We boarded the boat around 9:30 and quickly visited two points in the morning. We arrived at the small Hatoma Island around 11:30, ate rice balls, and then went for a walk on the island. We departed for the last point at 1:30 PM. There were waves, and the seawater was somewhat murky, so the visibility wasn't very good, which was a bit disappointing. However, we were able to see some fish, including sea snakes, so that was nice.
The driver also acted as a guide, but there was no explanation about the points, so it felt like we were snorkeling on our own. Since it was a full-day tour, it would have been better to have a proper guide.

The tour company picked us up at the hotel. We chose the SPU option, so after a brief lecture, we set off right away. 午後は由布島の水牛車コースへ変更しました。水牛車に乗りながら、三味線を聞きました。島自体は植物園のようで、良い写真がたくさん取れて、よかったです。

It was a luxurious tour where I could experience mangrove SUP, hiking, and snorkeling all in one day! The SUP was easy to do even for beginners, thanks to the guide's explanations. During the hike to the waterfall, the guide provided clear explanations about the plants, which was very helpful. In snorkeling, I felt safe and enjoyed it because the guide was swimming nearby. I was also happy to receive many photos after the tour. I would love to participate again when I visit Iriomote Island.
マングローブSUPと散策、シュノーケリングが1日で体験できる贅沢なツアーでした！
SUPはガイドさんの説明があるので初心者でも簡単にできました。滝までの散策では、ガイドさんが植物の説明をしてくださり、とても分かりやすかったです。
シュノーケリングではガイドさんが近くで泳いでいるので安心して楽しめました。
ツアー終了後には写真を沢山送っていただき嬉しかったです。

This is a wonderful tour that allows you to fully enjoy the great outdoors for an entire day! Since we were going to Iriomote Island, we wanted to enjoy both the sea and the mountains, so we signed up for the tour as a couple.
In the morning, we did mangrove SUP. Although I was a beginner, the difficulty wasn't too high, and we were able to see a beautiful waterfall as we paddled down the river.
In the afternoon, we went snorkeling near Barasu Island. Our guide took us to a spot where we could enjoy the fish and beautiful coral, and I was amazed by the clear sea. Throughout the day, our guide took many photos for us and sent them after the tour, and they were all fantastic! The location and angles were perfect, and we got photos that we couldn't have taken ourselves, so we were very satisfied!
The café where we had lunch had a great atmosphere and was very delicious. They also communicated well about what to bring and the meeting place in advance, so we were well prepared.
If I have the opportunity to travel to Iriomote Island again, I would definitely like to use the same PiPi tour company. Thank you!

せっかく西表島へ行くなら海も山も両方楽しみたいと思い、カップルでツアーを申し込みました。
午前中はマングローブＳＵＰで、初心者でしたが難易度はそこまで高くなく、川を進んだ先には美しい滝を見ることができました。
午後はバラス島付近でのシュノーケルをしました。魚や美しいサンゴが楽しめるポイントまでガイドさんが連れて行ってくださり、きれいな海に感動しました。
1日を通してガイドさんが写真をたくさん撮ってくださり、ツアー後に送ってくださったのですが、最高にいい写真ばかりでした！抜群のロケーションとナイスアングルで、自分たちでは撮れないような写真ばかりで、大満足です！
ランチで連れて行って頂いたカフェも雰囲気がよく、大変美味しかったです。
事前に持ち物や集合場所についてきちんとご連絡いただき、しっかり準備もできました。
西表島へまた旅行する機会があれば、同じＰｉＰｉさんをぜひ利用したいと思います。ありがとうございました！
