My. Fuji tour with Lake Ashi Cruise

Reviewed by: Christine , 2019/06/28

The tour guide is great unfortunately, the tour itself is not exactly how it disclosed. The bus stop for 5 minutes for one spot to view Mt. Fuji but not the best view at all. As we drove by we saw there are few spots that we can see the Mt. Fuji very clear but the bus just driving by very fast. The ropeway was under construction so they skip that part. This tour claims that we’re supposed to go on a pirate ship to tour Ashi Lake instead we just went on a ferry. We were a little disappointed cause it was not how it disclosed.

OK tour

Reviewed by: Ali, 2019/06/19

The tour was ok. It was good to have a tour guide to help explain things. We were only on the mountain for 30 minutes which was no where near enough time. We needed at least an hour. The boat ride was nice too. The ropeway was closed due to wind so they took us to an aquarium close to the mountain. The aquarium was absolutely awful. There were dead turtles in a few of the tanks. I would have preferred to have headed back to Tokyo a little earlier and skip the aquarium. Most of the folks on our tour complained about the aquarium. Not having a reserved seat on the bullet train was also a disappointment. I would recommend a reserved seat on the bullet train to and from the mountain if you can do it.

Overall good, impolite travelers, lots of bus time.

Reviewed by: Jill, 2019/06/09

Overall, Caca did a good job. Her English was understandable. I am glad I took the trip as I would not have seen these sites otherwise. Now, negatives were the really impolite guests- obviously not the fault of the company. We waited on the bus at our first stop for 45 minutes, Caca looking for them, and we thankfully just left. The next stop we waited an additional 15 minutes for 2 more guests. The departure times were very clearly stated. There were 2 other guests continually having a loud conversation while Caca was talking-making it difficult to hear. I wish someone would have said something because they were obviously oblivious- but I guess I also could have stepped up. The only other thing was I felt we spent way too much time on the bus. I totally understand these tours need to cater to all, but I definitely like to be more active. Something to think about for an active traveler. The lunch was surprisingly very good and filling. I took the bullet train back and Caca was great about making sure we knew exactly what we needed to do.

Mt Fuji tour without Mt Fuji

Reviewed by: Dianne Balderama, 2019/03/03

Tour was on time and organized. But it was a big disappointment for all of us that we didnt get to see Mt Fuji when we get to the site. The beginning of the tour title says Mt Fuji tour, but instead we had to stop at two souvenir shops in the morning til we had to take our lunch at around noon. By the time we take the Hakone cruise and ropeway ride in the afternoon, it was all gloomy and there was no view of my Fuji at all because it was all covered with clouds. When i asked the tour guide if we will still get to see a view of Mt Fuji that afternoon, he just said that that was it when we saw it when we were on the bus that morning. And he knew that it is always clear in the morning, so i just didn’t understand why we didn't go that morning but instead we spent most of our time to two souvenir shops when in fact I believe that the main highlight of the tour is Mt Fuji right??

My family were sleeping when the bus pass through the view of mt Fuji. Apparently, we came back to Tokyo without seeing the view of the mountain or any pictures with it. Maybe, we booked the wrong tour but the itinerary should say the most of the morning will be spent shopping and there is a least chance of having a view of mt Fuji in the afternoon during the cruise. The tour also ended very early. We got in Tokyo at around 6pm when the tour says we will be back around 8pm. Im wondering if we are supposed go stay longer? Because right after our ropeway ride, the bus had to leave right away to take us to shinkansen station which we could have done the souvenir shopping by the end of that day.

Im sorry, but wouldn’t recommend this tour to people especially those who are looking forward to see the view if mt Fuji upclose.

Not great in summer

Reviewed by: Grace, 2018/06/12

The.tour may be better in other seasons, but in June, low chance of getting a glimpse of Fuji-san. The lake Ashi cruise only took like 10min, and the cable car ride was like a rush hour train ride in Tokyo, I mean jampacked and stressful. The view from the top is magnificent though.

The tour guide was funny and threw in a lot of jokes, but his diction was hard to follow.

The part I enjoyed most is the lunch which was traditional Japanese, at least guests could experience real Japanese style.

Transportation arranged

Reviewed by: Gergely, 2018/04/23

The trip was nice, the places what we visited are awesome however i would expect more from the tourist guide to be familiar with the history of the place.
In the trip we heard 150 times - Mount Fuji, beautiful but not too much about the history, about interesting facts or the spiritual side of the mountain or about Japanese culture.
The transportation was the value in this trip mainly.

The guide was very good, and the itinerary was very smooth, but we felt like we were rushed from location to location. did not get to enjoy the locations we visited.

Hiro-san was very entertaining and educational. he was also very helpful. Our bus driver gave us a very smooth ride. To no fault of their own, i felt that the trip was too rushed. we only got to spend 45mins on 5th station, 45mins for lunch, 10mins on the top of hakone cable car. I'd like it more if we left tokyo at 7am rather than 9am so that we can have more time to enjoy the sights.

Mount Fuji Tour and Hakone Sightseeing from Tokyo (Bullet Train or Bus Return) / Return by Shinkansen (With Lunch)

Reviewed by: richard, 2017/10/04

A full day, lots of travelling but thats what is required to see all these sites. Lunch is at a roller coaster park with some magnificent rides but the opportunity to go on these rides is not available. An option to pay for a FAST PASS to the huge roller coaster would be a plus

Mt Fuji was worth the trip!

Reviewed by: Anna, 2017/06/12

The tour ran late because we were met with traffic en route to the expressway (was asleep for most of that) and we arrived at 5th station past 1pm.

We were given 30mins to explore the area. Got a free bell, bought souvenirs and took lots of tourist-y photos! It was fortunately a very clear day (lucky us). Wish we could've spent more time here but we were already off the itinerary so we couldn't stay longer.

We then had lunch at a restaurant beside Lake Kawaguchi. I think we were supposed to go to Hakone for the boat ride, but we had it here instead. Since the lake was just at the foot of Mt Fuji, the boat ride gave us the perfect opportunity to capture more picturesque shots of the mountain. We had the cable car ride here too.

The bus still passed by Hakone but it was already nightfall and everything was closed so there wasn't much to see. We had to make our way back to Tokyo via shikansen (which I really enjoyed because it only took us a third of the time spent traveling by bus!)

I guess shared tours aren't really for me because I can't control the amount of time I get to spend in an area, but it was an overall good experience for a first time visitor to Mt Fuji.

  • Mt Fuji on a clear day (lucky me!) and a red bean pancake (yum).

A good long day!

Reviewed by: John Paul, 2017/05/23

One very long day for us! The travel time from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji is much longer on weekends due to the traffic (so I suggest going on weekdays?). But since it's our first time to see Mt. Fuji up close, we enjoyed it - I guess, 30 minutes seems a little too short for everything that you may want to do there. We haven't got the chance to do the activities in Hakone *No idea how it is there* but, the alternative activities in Lake Kawaguchi (cruise and ropeway) turned out just fine. The meal is not that good, maybe because we had it late and it was prepared long before we arrived - again, because of the traffic. It's very nice that the tour guide is so kind, she really tried to communicate and do favors for guests as much as she could. Overall it was good.

Mount Fuji Tour and Hakone Sightseeing- GOOD tour

Reviewed by: WendyWong, 2016/11/09

The tour is good. We have Aikko as our tour guide, and she was very pleasant and informative. The total experience was excellent. But the time to do things is limited. We had only 45 minutes to explore Mt. Fuji & less than an hour for lunch.
Overall the tour is good, the weather is good, the variety of traditional Japanese lunch is good. I will be going to Mount Fuji again in winter, hope we can spent more time there.

Mount Fuji tour without mount Fuji view

Reviewed by: Ronny, 2016/03/28

Not anybody fault, but Mount Fuji was 'hiding' when we had this tour, because its cloudy.
A couple of delay happened (the longest because a couple of participants opt to buy their own lunch and its took a long time for the rest to prepare). Perhaps there shd be any warning before for participants, so they are prepared (ie. Bring their own lunch).

Not able to go beyond the 1st station

Reviewed by: Choo Lee Lee, 2016/03/27

Unfortunately the weather was not great, hence we only made it to 1st station.

Managed to catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji from the tour bus when the clouds cleared a little in the afternoon.

Weather was also misty when we were on the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway - hence views were not promising and the cable car was jam packed.

But the tour guide was very good - spoke excellent English and was very helpful catering to > 40 paxes. Ichiban on his service

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so we did not see Mr. Fuji or much of Hakone as everything was covered in fog.
