Great tour with friendly guides
Reviewed by: Selena, 2019/10/24I went on the tour with my sister two days after the October typhoon. Due to a landslide caused by the typhoon, we had to take a detour, which resulted in additional travel time. Unfortunately, we were not able to travel up to the 5th station due to the change in schedule/timing. We were also not able to see Fuji-san due to the cloudy weather. But we understand that this is beyond the tour company's control. On the flip side, the tour guides were extremely friendly and tried to make up for cancelling the 5th station trip by providing some snacks, which were quite thoughtful. Overall, I like how the tour guides were organized and upfront about the change in schedule. They also incorporated some humour when interacting with us, which made us feel welcomed. The ice cream at the end of the tour was a nice touch to complete the experience (we recommend having the peach flavour!). I can imagine that the itinerary would be perfect if the weather was accommodating. We will definitely come back again, perhaps during spring time when Mt. Fuji is more visible.

Mount Fuji day trip

Fantastic experience, although we only had a brief view of Fuji San (you can't control the weather!!).
Lovely light lunch at a "French Themed" restaurant in the theme park at the base of Fuji.
20 minute lake cruise and a cable car ride, with cracking views of Mount Fuji (if weather plays ball!!), expertly guided by Hiro!!
Thoroughly recommend this trip.

Well organised day trip to Mt.Fuji

We're a couple and liked the most about the mountain and scenery nearby. However, it depends on the weather as well. We're a bit unfortunate because we could not see the top of the mountain as it was cloudy (indeed, we could not predict the weather accurately, because we booked earlier based on forecast and it supposed to be sunny). But, we had enough time to walk and explore at the 5th station. The staffs were all great and friendly: from the lady who welcomed us, the guide who speaks both japanese and english, and of course the driver. We expected to have a light lunch provided, but the trip included a proper course lunch which was great and delicious. Also, they have options for special dietry and you must make sure to let them know. We can advice future participants to book in advanced as the tour can easily get fully book, please state clearly if you have any special dietry for lunch, and enjoy your trips! Overall, it's highly recommended especially for those travelling with kids, couple, and old people. All the seighseeing, lunch, cruise, cable car, and return transport are included.

Experience Mount Fuji from different points of views!

It's 100% recommended to do this tour if you want to experience Mount Fuji from different points of views. It might get cold out there, so we recommend you bring a sweater. The tour leader was a sweetheart and the Veltra team did a great job organising every part of the trip. We highly recommend this tour.

Outstanding 1-day Mt. Fuji trip for foreigners
Reviewed by: Tuan, 2019/10/03The overall experience was outstanding. Both the tour leader and bus driver were very friendly and offer assistant in any way they can. At every stop the tour leader explained very carefully what to do and when we need to get back to the bus. The 5th Station was cloudy and we did not get the chance to see Mt. Fuji. Same for Lake Kawaguchi. However after riding the ropeway to the top of the mountain and wait for a while, we could finally see the peak of Mt. Fuji. Such an amazing experience. The best part of the tour is the western-style lunch at a very cozy restaurant, and the $3 coupon. We did not use the coupon to buy ice cream but to buy souvenir because there are many selections.

Awesome Full Day Experience!

Great time

Wonderful Experience!!!!!!!!!!
Reviewed by: Sarath, 2019/09/29The best option for foreigners to visit Mt. Fuji as a one day trip. The trip was very well planned and organized. Our tour coordinator was very pleasant and friendly. She was very informative about the various attractions on the way as well as the planned spots. Our first destination was fifth station of Mt. Fuji. Even though clouds covered Mt. Fuji most of the time, we were able to have a pretty good look at the highest peak of Japan, thanks to our generous driver who stopped at a point( when the clouds moved away for a few moments) just below the fifth station on our way back. The next destination was lake kawaguchi where we experienced lake cruise and rope way ride. The lake is surrounded by green landscape. This will be a perfect option for any group like family, friends, couples etc.

Incredible day exploring Mount Fuji and lake kawaguchi!

Our tour leader was extremely informative, happy and spoke great English. The 5th station was cloudy but it was a lovely area to walk around and the views were still incredible. The boat journey on Lake kawaguchi was stunning and peaceful. What made the whole trip was when we went up the ropeway the cloudy had moved and we could see Mount Fuji clearly. A lovely touch at the end was a voucher for ice cream. I would recommend this trip to everyone who want to see Mount Fuji or just wants a trip outside busy Tokyo.

Great experience

The highlight of our trip!
Reviewed by: Crystal Robens, 2019/06/19The guided tour picks up at Ikebukuro or Shinjuku station. Our tour guide was Nobu and he was quite wonderful! The bus ran right on time. It wasn't full for the day we chose because it was an overcast day. Mount Fuji peeked out of the clouds for just a moment while we were at the top so we got to see it!! It was awesome!! The tour hits up the Mt Fuji 5th station shop, includes a lunch at a French restaurant (with special accomodations for the vegetarian in our group). You get a $3 souvenir or ice cream voucher too. The cruise on the lake was the best part! If I was making a suggestion, the top of Mt Fuji and the amusement park could be 15 minutes longer and the lake area could be 30 minutes less in exchange. Other than that it was the absolute best and I would recommend to anyone!

Mt. Fuji Fifth Station – It was cold with heavy rain in the trip to Mount Fuji. The tour guide was nice and caring. She was a Japanese with good spoken in English.
Lunch at Fuji-Q Highland was very great and the food was delicious. The environment in the restaurant in Fuji-Q Highland was nice and grand.
Cruise on Lake Kawaguchi & Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
- We spent enough time in a boat at Lake Kawaguchi and Fuji Panoramic Ropeway. I enjoyed the trip and eating delicious soft serve ice cream.
Again, it was a Great tour! it was very convenient.

Wonderful Trip

Lunch at Fuji Q highland park was delicious and served very well. Although it was raining all day during the trip but we can enjoy it. We have enough time for cursing at Kawaguchiko lake and enjoy fantastic view during the ropeways. My children loves the free ice cream voucher.
I gave 5 stars for veltra and thank you for given us a memorable and wonderful journey in Mount Fuji.

An amazing full day trip for the family!
Reviewed by: Francis Castillo, 2019/06/14Even though it was hard to find the meeting place since it was underground, we were pleased to know that the rest of the group were only boarding the bus. We were lucky that we were able to see the mountain since we were told that it was raining up until the day before our tour. The lunch was good and substantial, and kind of fancy because of the ambiance. The cruise was incredible since we got to see the entire mountain from the lake as well as the view from the top of the cable car ride. This was such a great experience even our parents were impressed! I definitely recommend this tour!

Great deal for a great full day tour!
Reviewed by: Frances Ann Castillo, 2019/06/14At first, we were hesitant to book this tour because the price was too good to be true, but we took a chance and wanted to experience it ourselves. We had a difficult time finding the meeting place and was late for a couple of minutes, but Ms. Terry, our guide, waited for us. The bus ride took 2 hours from Shinjuku to the Mt. Fuji 5th station. We were greeted with a picturesque view of the mountain as well as a lovely 40 minute tour with a pleasantly cold weather. Don't forget to try the mountain-shaped melon bread there! We had a good three course lunch at the Fuji Q Highland restaurant. It's also a great photo spot where you could see more of the mountain. We then headed to the Lake Kawaguchi boat cruise where you could have a closer look at the mountain as well as a cable car ride at Hakone rope way. As you exchange the ticket for the cable car, you also get a free pen as a souvenir. The tanuki dango with soy and matcha drink there is really good. There was also a good ice cream shop where you could choose from four flavors; peach, vanilla, lavender and grape. All in all, with the tour, food and the bus ride going back to the meeting point, the price for this full day tour is such a steal. I highly recommend this tour for those of you who want to maximize their budget. The guide was really good at explaining and was very accomodating!

Perfect day trip from Tokyo

Great day out to see Mt Fuji
Reviewed by: Shu Min, 2019/06/01A well-organised tour which was also good value for money. We were on board a very clean tour bus and had an excellent guide called Nao. He communicated very well in English and Japanese and his enthusiasm definitely added to our positive experience. We were very lucky to have perfect weather to see Mt Fuji - time at the 5th station was limited to 30 minutes, but there was more that adequate time for the lunch stop and then more time was spent at Lake Kawaguchi for the boat cruise and panoramic ropeway (which also included time for ice cream and souvenir shopping). We also found no issues with bringing our children along (5yr11mo and 28mo boys). The only negative part of the day was that we did have some difficulty finding the exact meeting point for the bus - signs pointing the way from the main street would have helped us a lot!
I would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends!

What an amazing Day!
Reviewed by: Jensen, 2019/06/01This was a well organised tour with appropriate time spent at each venue. The various photograph points on the road, at the lunch restaurant and from the lake provide a variety of different angles and scenery around Mt Fuji.
A lot of time is spent on the bus but this is unavoidable due to the distance. Thankfully there are rest stops on the way there and back so the maximum bus time is approximately 1 hour between stops.
Our tour guide Nao was funny and very knowledgeable about the mountain and the various locations we visited.

wonderful Mt Fuji with a great guide!

Our Tour guide Nao was so funny and informative as well as informative. We had a packed day full of activities but it definitely didn't feel rushed or that we didn't have enough time at each activities. The lunch was at a fancy place tasting very delicious, and The lake cruise and ropeways were refreshing providing the best unobscured view of My Fuji The activities were very very good and I would 100% recommend this tour!

Amazing and well-planned tour!

The finer details:
First (and most important): Mount Fuji
- During a clear day, you have many opportunities to see it.
- 5th Station, the Lake Kawaguchi cruise and ropeway all have fantastic views.
- You can buy souvenirs at each stop!
Food
- Lunch was at an amazing restaurant in Fuji-Q Highland. An appetizer, entree, dessert, and coffee/tea are all included.
- You can also explore the surrounding area if you finish eating early!
- You get to have soft serve ice cream at the end of the tour with your pick of interesting flavors.
Efficiency and Comfort
- The bus was very comfortable and there are bathroom breaks during the ride.
- The tour guides (shoutout to Nao-san and David!) were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were fluent in both English and Japanese.
- Despite some traffic, we were pretty much on time for every stop and got back to Shinjuku before 7pm.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Mount Fuji from different viewpoints and have some great food and fun along the way.

Mt Fuji day trip

The guide was very good and she had a good sense of humour. During the trip up she gave explanations about different sites we were passing. During the ride back she entertained us by showing us how to make an origami. The bus was nice and clean. The lunch was a pleasant surprise stop at a French style restaurant on the way. We had lunch with spectacular view of Mt Fuji. We were not rushed and had time to enjoy each stop and take photos.
Highly recommend, it was very relaxed and enjoyable not to be missed.

Fanta Faboulous day with VELTRA
Reviewed by: Varsha D Wadhwa , 2019/04/23We assembled at the pick up point which was very centrally located ( directions were well given)and were well greeted by the English speaking Staff. Enroute we were informed that the tour to the 5 th Station of Mt. Fuji cannot be done as the road was icy due to the snow the day before. Alternatively we were taken to a different location “ Oshino Hakkai” with 8 different sacred pools all originating from Mt. Fujiyama. We instantly fell in love with this small Quaint Village.
We were taken for lunch to a European Style Restaurant which was overlooking the Fuji Q Highland . The lunch was a real treat, delicious and sumptuous. We were served Soup, Chicken, Salad, bread, desert and finally coffee/ tea. The ambience of the Restaurant was very very Royale. VELTRA was very kind in providing a vegetarian lunch for my wife.
We were then taken to the Mt Fuji Museum where we were shown a Fantastic Introductory film.
Later we drove to the Scenic Lake Kawaguchico for a Cruise. We had an ice cream treat from the souvenirs shop compliments VELTRA!!!.
We then took the rope way up the mountain to have a spectacular view of the Lake and the surroundings of the Base of Mt Fuji.
We would highly recommend this tour with VELTRA AS IT WAS VERY COST EFFECTIVE CONSIDERING THE COST OF TRANSPORTATION THE SIGHTSEEING, LUNCH, CRUISE RIDE, THE ROPEWAY AND NOT THE FORGET THE ICE CREAM.

My time in Mt.Fuji~ ^^

Great value and amazing experience!
Reviewed by: Joseph, 2019/04/03This was the first time I took my parents on a bus tour and they were pleasantly surprised. The parking lot of the Metropolitan Government Building was a little confusing to find at first so make sure to get there early. Since the 5th station was closed due to the weather, we went to the 4th station instead but still had beautiful views from the top. The lunch at Fuji Q Highland was actually very tasty (chicken cacciatore, salad, bread, coffee/tea, dessert) in a beautiful little restaurant and an amazing view of the Mount Fuji from the tables. We had just enough time to do the sightseeing cruise, ropeway, and grab a little ice cream treat from the souvenir shop which must be a nice touch during the summer. We really loved the cruise and the view from the top of the cable car was spectacular for photos. Even if you were to add the cost of the bus, activities, food, and time to research I think it would cost more than than the tour itself. I would highly recommend this day trip to casual travelers that want a small taste of Japan's tallest and most majestic mountain.
