One very long day for us! The travel time from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji is much longer on weekends due to the traffic (so I suggest going on weekdays?). But since it's our first time to see Mt. Fuji up close, we enjoyed it - I guess, 30 minutes seems a little too short for everything that you may want to do there. We haven't got the chance to do the activities in Hakone *No idea how it is there* but, the alternative activities in Lake Kawaguchi (cruise and ropeway) turned out just fine. The meal is not that good, maybe because we had it late and it was prepared long before we arrived - again, because of the traffic. It's very nice that the tour guide is so kind, she really tried to communicate and do favors for guests as much as she could. Overall it was good.
The tour provider didn't foresee the traffic (we were on the road for almost 4 hours) which caused a domino-effect. We arrived in Mt. Fuji 5th Station at around 13:00. The view of Mt. Fuji made up for the long trip, but another cause of delay was some tourists who didn't return to the bus on time. We had late lunch at around 15:00, so that was not cool. It also resulted to change of schedule -- we weren't able to cruise at Lake Ashi and go on a cable car ride at Mt. Komagatake Ropeway. Instead, went on a cruise and ropeway at Kawaguchiko. After that, we went to Hakone-en Park but it was already dark, so we just had a quick stop (restroom break) then proceeded to the shinkansen station. I was disappointed, but at least we had a very nice tour guide who tried her best to appease us with her jokes and trivia. Shinkansen ride back to Tokyo was a fitting way to end a tiring day.
It was great one-day tour. Highly recommended.
Hope to spend more time in Hakone.
The tour was fun but was a little disappointed with the lunch. On our previous tour with you last year, it was a buffet lunch.
We were accommodated even if reservation was only one day before the activity. We were fetched on time and arrived to our destination as expected. Lunch was good. It was very organized. The tour guide spoke English well and explained everything very well. No time was wasted. Yes, we enjoyed the one day trip and will probably recommend it to friends.
I have always wanted to see Mt. Fuji and this day tour did not disappoint on the visit. I enjoyed seeing the countryside and also the very impressive Bullet Train on the ride back to Tokyo.
I would skip at all costs the included lunch. It had been sitting out all prepared for some time when we arrived at the restaurant. The fried food was cold and the other parts of the meal were tasteless. It was not worth the money. My advice is pack a sack lunch and eat it outside where the view is pretty. Also, the cruise on Lake Ashi was fair. There were too many people crowding the railing of the boat and it was difficult to see the scenery if you are under 5 foot 5 inches! There were no available seats. This was a very long day trip and it would not be suitable for young children as they would be tired and bored. I am glad i saw Mt. Fuji and experienced the Bullet Train. I could have passed on the lunch and the cruise. My two companions were of the same opinion. One last comment, I felt rushed on this trip as we just made the last cable car ride and there was also a good deal of commotion getting everyone settled at the station where we caught the Bullet Train.
An excellent tour, interesting and highly recommended!
The tour was very well organized and structured. The guide was very engaging and kept us entertained throughout the entire excursion. To get a lunch, a cruise, and a cable car ride for this price is a great deal.
Everything is excellent. We are very well taken care of! Totally recommend this tour
Great tour, lunch was good. Shinkansen was the highlight. Our tour guide was very entertaining.
As previews experience in countries I had visited, tour guides always tell us to come back on time or else you will be left behind. Time is so short, 20 minutes, that after visiting the toilet, half of it is gone thus enjoying the view is improbable.
The good part was professionalism of our guide, able to impart the basic aspect about the culture and history. The bus driver was good as well, he keep us safe.
We were very lucky because we actually got to see the mountain. Best viewing is in the winter because there is no fog. We had a stroke of luck (in April) and got to see the mountain from the bus. By lunch time the entire mountain was obscured by fog. This is normal, be prepared not to see it. We got to the 4th station (5th was closed due to dangerous weather). The only opportunity to see it is from the bus. The lunch was lovely and tasty and a good sized portion. If people on your tour are late you might miss out on some things because everything is timed to the minute. Be on time. Lake Ashi was pretty. The cable car ride was neat too. You're supposed to have a great view at the peak but as I said the fog obscured everything. It was still cool to go up, there's shrine at the peak and the view if nearby nature and the lake is great. You couldn't see Fuji. Our guide was incredible and offered a lot of information about the Japanese culture, the people and customs. It was a nice tour. We would have had a hard time seeing what we did in our own. It's not very accessible without a rental car.
Highly recommended
The tour was as described - simple pickup process, English speaking guide, we were lucky enough to get a good clear view of Mt Fuji - plenty of time at each location (some more than adequate) - would recommend
We had a fantastic day. Our travel guide was very knowledgeable & informative. I was a long & very fun day & I thought it was very good value. The highlight for me was the Shinkansen!
It is better than Ad described. The lunch is very good at an advanced hotel. Prices of Skyline Gondola and Pirate Boat Cruise are included in the package, which were unexpected. It is worth trying.
Well organised tour but it really depends on your luck when visiting!
Best tour
Our guide shin was wonderful. The driver was great.
It was a great experience. Just disappointed with price of stuff.
our tour guide (eriko) is very informational and entertaining. good job!
The tour was on a tight schedule so it felt a bit rushed. But, it was a good tour nonetheless. Keiko, our tour guide was accommodating and did her best. The Shinkansen was a blast!!!
Hiro did a great job!
Absolutely loved the tour to Mount Fuji and Hokone sightseeing. It was very well organised and managed. Tour included going up to Mount Fuji's 4th viewing station (5th closed due to snow), cruise on Lake Ashi followed by spectacular views atop Mount Komagatake. Its a great way to meet fellow travelers as well as get out of Tokyo for a day. Would like to thank the organisers, coach driver and especially our guide Hiro, who was very helpful, insightful and who spoke excellent English. Highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide reiko was very entertaining and we enjoyed the whole trip.
Due to the heavy snow, we were only able to reach station 1. And due to strong winds, our trip to Hakone was cancelled. But our guide, Noriko, made our tour enjoyable. We were taken to a cruise of an alternate lake and took a cable ride to a viewing area of Mt Fuji. I've been on tours around the world and I can honestly say that Noriko is one of the best tour guides out there. She keep us engaged throughout the tour giving us lessons in Japanese history and culture. We even learned how to make an origami of Mt Fuji!
