My wife and I used the service together. It was pouring rain in the morning, but by the time of our reservation, the weather cleared up and it became a perfect day for a rickshaw ride. I was impressed by the knowledge of the young rickshaw puller.

I have visited Asakusa many times, but this time he took us to some distant places, allowing us to enjoy a side of Asakusa that we usually don't see. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. On the way back, we were also taken back to our hotel. Thank you very much.

They have a great selection of kimonos. The staff is super helpful and speak fluent English, so foreign travellers don't have to worry about communication problems. Great workout and good intro into the mechanics of sumo

I absolutely loved this lesson. I have trained in various other grappling arts and this lesson did a great job breaking down the basics, teaching you the ceremony/history, and giving you a hard workout.

I would recommend going with at least one of your friends or family members so you can face off against each other at the end. I was still able to get practice matches in against the instruction, but good friendly competition is always fun.

The hosts were so lovely and forgiving. I felt so bad because I got lost thus was late and just saw them sitting there waiting for me when I finally got there. They had a lot of options of gorgeous kimonos and I was indecisive. They were so nice and helped me picked a beautiful blue kimono and did a great job. Even though I forgot something inside twice they were so sweet and let me in. I was able to walk around comfortably and a lot of people loved my attire and hairdo. I was so happy on it. Best highlight of my trip! ❤ Thank you!

So much fun and totally worth it

We basically dropped in on a regular class and did more basic beats with our teacher Shima (sp?) while the other students did more advanced techniques. It was like a video game with us on Beginner level and them on Advanced. Shima was great at making us keep the beat but also teaching us proper form. He has an awesome sense of humour and is very encouraging! It was super fun, and everyone was really welcoming! Even the other students!

if you are considering it, do it!

you need to read the directions properly and follow them carefully, otherwise you will get lost. Once there, they were incredibly friendly, even without much English. We were split into groups with 4 of us travellers having their first go gathered together for our lesson with a dedicated instructor. He was really engaging. Not a tourist trap, most of the folk were Japanese mature women who obviously do this regularly as a social was of exercising. Ended a bit early, after ~ 90 minutes. Good fun and worth the effort of finding it.

I attended a performance for the first time in June. The pre-show explanation provided an overview of the flow and the comedic moments, making it easy to get into the experience. After the show, the actors added further explanations, which deepened my understanding. There was also a photo opportunity, and during the part where the story was expressed through a traditional play, when I requested a ghost, they creatively acted it out, making for a very enjoyable time. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't that time this time. I will invite different friends to go see it again. Ten people might be difficult, though! (*^.^*)

前説で 全体の流れ、笑いどこを教えて頂いたので、入りやすかったです。
舞台終了後 役者の方が更に説明を加えて下さり
理解を深める事が出来ました。また写真撮影タイムがあったり、物語を狂言で表現してくださるところでは ゴーストをお願いしたら 工夫しながらも 演じて下さりとても楽しい時間が過ごせました。今回 その時間がなく少し残念でした

Well worth the time and just north of Akihabara, this was an amazing Shodo class that taught my family more than just one character. She let us make the ink we would use later to write everything with the calligraphy brush. The instructor explained the different characters used in Japanese and how one was derived from another, showing and letting us write those too. Then we got to chose a word to practice writing for the final draft on heavy duty paper. This would also include our names in Japanese, which she translated and included on the example that we followed. After many practice papers, we did the final draft, which was signed with the instructor's red stamp.

This was something the girls (daughters & girlfriend) really wanted to do. I was not as enthusiastic about it.
When we arrived the staff was extremely friendly and immediately tended to all of our needs/requirements. We chose our Kimonos and they dressed us all up. They made up the females' hair really nice and beautiful and gave us more than enough time to walk around Asakusa after. There is a great temple about a block away to take super pictures at.
Additionally, one of the staff members makes origami earrings and they are for sale at a very great price. They also have fans, umbrellas and other accessories for rent/sale.
The overall experience was actually better than I thought it would be. We had such a great time. The downside to it was getting some dirty looks from some of the locals; however, for the most part, many enjoyed it and took pictures of/with us. There were more people who liked it than not. There was a family (Japanese) who was in there prior to us dressing up and walking around as well. We saw them later at the temple along with a few others from other kimono places all dressed up. So we did not feel out of place once we saw others.
I highly recommend this company if you want a great Kimono experience. They also have Samurai wear and other traditional dresses. Look them up (Sakura Photography in Asakusa).

This was a good experience. Quick and easy and the ladies were friendly. Just a short walk to the temple for photos. The shoes were quite hard to walk in so we couldn’t go far and it was hot! But all in all it’s good for the price.

The introduction by the members of the Enban Rider was very accessible, as they replaced the traditional elements of Kyogen with relatable topics before diving into the performance. After the show, the Kyogen performers provided explanations and shared behind-the-scenes stories, which was quite enlightening. This time, since there was extra time, we were treated to an improvised Kyogen based on a prompt, which allowed us to see a ghost—definitely a bonus!

円盤ライダーの方々の前説で狂言入門的な事や演目を身近なことに置き換えて、演じていただいた後に演目に入るので、とても分かりやすいです。

I had always wanted to try traditional Japanese games, so I participated alone. I was particularly looking forward to the game where you throw a fan at a target, and I was excited to learn that it was available. When I actually went, I was surprised to find that about 80% of the participants were Japanese; I had expected it to be mostly foreigners.

I was informed that there would be three types of traditional games to experience, but participation was limited to those who won a lottery! Fortunately, I happened to win the game I wanted to play, but I felt a bit dissatisfied thinking that I could have missed out on it due to the lottery. However, since it was a lottery, even as a solo participant, I was able to have a game partner assigned to me, and I enjoyed watching the other games as well. I think it would be fulfilling if you go with a clear idea of what you want to do!

ずっとお座敷遊びをやってみたいと思ってたので、1人で参加しました。
しかも、やりたい遊びが扇を的に当てるやつと決まっていて、それが出来るとの事で楽しみにしていきました。
実際行ってみると、意外と8割は日本人の参加者で、外国人だらけだと思ってたのでビックリしました。
今回、3種類のお座敷遊びを体験出来るとの事でしたが、参加出来るのはまさかの抽選で当たった人のみ！
たまたまお目当ての遊びに当たったので良かったものの、それをやる為に参加したのに抽選で外れてたかもと思うと少し不満が残りました。
でも抽選なので、1人で参加でも遊びの対戦相手を選んで貰えるし、他の遊びも見ることが出来て楽しかったです。
これがやりたい！と決めていかなければ、充実出来ると思います。

The kimonos we rented were beautiful. The price of the activity was very reasonable. We were given ample time to tour Asakusa in our kimonos. Everything was perfect EXCEPT for the extremely irritable lady, who dressed me up with the kimono. She was very grumpy and the way she spoke to me was not very nice. She must be having a bad day, and she was taking it out on me. I would have given this activity the highest review possible if it were not for this staff member, who was not living up to the Japanese reputation of giving customers excellent service. I was also unable to contact the phone number indicated on the voucher despite repeated attempts, which was quite frustrating.

The staff member at the reception area was very friendly and kind though. Despite the unpleasant experience with the lady who dressed me up, I'd still recommend this activity to everyone, who wants to have the a unique cultural experience in Japan.
