Half-Day Tokyo Tsukiji Fish Market Tour with Sushi Lunch (English Guided)

Tsukiji Fish Market FooDrink Tour

Reviewed by: Doug

Best ever food and drink tour! Our guide Kyoko was amazing and her English was excellent. The group size of six people was comfortably manageable. We were five friends and a solo rugby / football player. Kyoko was very knowledgeable of the history and ambience of the area and the Fish Market layout and variety making sure that we visited the very best shops. Kyoko was very keen to pick up on our interests throughout the tour and bought those items for us to enjoy at our lunch. Kyoko was expert at maneuvering us through the market in a timely fashion while still allowing us time to browse and buy what the market had to offer. As a side note, see something you like? Better buy it there because you won't find it elsewhere. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Kyoko.

Traditional Japanese Washoku Cooking Lesson with Seasonal Dishes near Ebisu

Fantastic cooking/learning/dining experience!

Reviewed by: Juliann

We had a wonderful time learning to make basic dashi, chirashi, and then using our dashi to make chikuzenni (simmered vegetables). Dishes made in this class may vary by season. The instructor was patient with excellent English and no experience or knowledge other than basic knife handling (vegetable chopping & peeling) is required. It was a great experience to be able to cook in an actual restaurant kitchen. After the food we made was ready, our dishes were supplemented with other items made by the restaurant staff and sake sampling flight. We finished by learning the proper etiquette for chopstick handling and opening and closing formal Kaiseki bento before eating the fruits (vegetables) of our labors.

100% would do this again, and even though we did have some experience with Japanese cooking we were able to improve our skills greatly. 10/10 all around!

Udon Making Lesson in a Local Home with Japanese Culture Classes in Tokyo

Amazing cultural experience!

Reviewed by: Malie808

Wakana-san was amazing!
Such an amazing cultural experience. I went with my family...2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 children (9yo, 11yo). We let the children do the "work" for udon making, and Wakana was so patient! She speaks English clearly, and easily understandable. The steps were easy to do for the children. While we were waiting for the udon, Wakana showed us how to make different origami. After, we got to enjoy the delicious udon! We are excited to make udon at home!

Glutenfree Japanese curry

Reviewed by: Liesbeth

We loved our first workshop with him so much last year, that we had to come back for a second time. This time we made a glutenfree Japanese curry. Sato-san adjusted the recipe for us and made a delicious curry that we could enjoy. We will definitely make this curry at home. Sato-san is a wonderful person which makes the workshop even more enjoyable. It was a real challenge for him to make a glutenfree curry for us. Luckily, he accepted the challenge and made a wonderful Japanese curry recipe. We would definitely recommend this cooking workshop to everyone that likes Japanese cuisine.

A delicious food tour with lots of samples

Reviewed by: Gerald Elder

The Tsujiki Market, at least the professional "inner" market will be moving in the fall of 2018, so now is the time to take this tour. Our group consisted of 6 people and one guide, and it appeared that they tried to keep the ratio around that as there were many groups forming up at our meeting place. This is an excellent practice, because the market is crowded and a larger group would have trouble staying together. We sampled oysters, sake, tamagoyaki (egg), crackers, beans, tea, and more. We saw the whole sellers cutting up tuna and chefs ordering fish for their restaurants. And then we settled into a nice little restaurant for a delicious sushi lunch.

Tsukiji Fish Market Tour and Sushi Making Lesson in Tokyo

Great sushi class plus market tour!

Reviewed by: Daphne

Our guide was very friendly and polite, explaining things to us thoroughly.
The market tour included 50 min of free time which I thought was not necessary cos you can always go back there afterwards. The cooking kitchen was an actual kitchen for training sushi chef. The instructor and assistant were helpful and knowledgeable. I am very happy to learn how to slice a fish for sushi. Portion was adequate.

Private Sushi and Tempura Cooking Lesson at Tokyo

fun making sushi

Reviewed by: howard

It was great fun making sushi! The instruction included a nice background of the history of sushi and. Making the rice was great fun as well as working with the fish. The tempura part of the class did not have as much instruction as i would have liked. You get to eat the food you made and they give you a little gift at the end. The instructors were very nice and helpful. Overall my family and I enjoyed this event. The location we were at was across the street from the One Piece Tokyo Tower so that was a nice bonus.

This wasn't my first trip to Japan or cooking class, but it was indeed the first time where I finally learned a ton of actually useful, tasty and healthy recipes that could be reproduced outside Japan! There are some things that you miss altogether if you're just a tourist, so I highly recommend the tour as well: we were also particularly lucky because there was the beautiful Kanda Matsuri festival and I had the chance to have Sato explaining everything to me plus I could enjoy the festive vibes and the music!

Japanese Wagashi Sweets Making with Matcha Green Tea in Tokyo

AMAZING EXPERIENCE

Reviewed by: Janice

I'm sure most of you would take a step back when you look at the cost, but honestly, how often do you travel to a new country and by-pass all the tourist-y spots to experience their culture in-depth?

This is the perfect opportunity to experience one of Japanese's most beautiful culture --- tea and wagashi. You will learn about the ingredient, techniques, and how they use simple colors or shapes to capture the essence of seasonal beauty. All ingredients were made from scratch by our lecturer.

The green wagashi with pink tip is the flower bulb of a pink peony, captured at the moment it is about to bloom. It's absolutely amazing to see how colors are created and the various tools you can use to create its shape.

I would go again if I can! It's so much fun and our translator is very professional and accommodating.

Better than a usual sushi lesson

Reviewed by: S Bazzaz

Sato is friendly, fun and a great teacher. I picked the kariage chicken lesson, we cooked soba noodles, the chicken, a salad and a fresh miso soup. This was all made in his shinjuku Appartment.

It was a great evening with a few beers experiencing local food with a local who wants to share his favourite foods.

Pass on the numerous generic sushi lessons and take one of these courses. I have repeated a couple of the dishes since being back in London - they are great reminders of Tokyo.

Thanks Sato!

This was an awesome way to start our Friday night in Shibuya. No problem checking in, although the bar is in a kinda apartment-like looking building, so make sure to bring the address with you.
So many different kids of sake to try, and they use a symbol system to let you know what each type is like, so you don't need to know Japanese. Lots of people of all ages, my friend and I felt like we blended in with the Tokyoites. The staff had good recommendations, and tried really hard to make sure we were happy (and tipsy!)
Good value for money, thanks!

Sake Heaven!

I visited this location with my friend visiting from America and my Japanese friend. In America, there are lots of wines and craft beers, but very little selection of sakes. This was an awesome experience to taste all sorts of sakes from all over Japan! My Japanese friend also made us some snacks to nibble on while we tasted a variety of sakes for almost 6 hours!
The staff there was super nice and recommended all sorts of sakes and did an hourly "toast with water" to keep us all standing on our feet the next day. haha They also handed out slippers for us to wear after standing on our feet for several hours. I got to also try a lot of unique prototype cold press fruit liquors that I'm in love with now. I really need to check out their sister shop, "Shugar" next time!

  • Tasty unique cold press fruit liquors

  • All sakes have labels stating the type of flavor too.
