I stayed in Miyanoura, and thanks to the direct bus service, I was able to relax! With the guide's thoughtful assistance, I was able to see Jomon Sugi safely. Thank you very much. The miso soup I had for lunch warmed both my body and heart. I really appreciate all your help!

This time, I participated with my parents. I was worried whether my elderly parents and I, who had joined the Jomon Sugi tour the day before, would be able to make it to the end, but thanks to our guide, we were able to reach the moss-covered forest safely. The stories along the way were enjoyable, and I feel like I’ve become a bit of a Yakushima expert. However, due to my oversight, I had requested to rent trekking poles when I signed up for the tour, but the reservation didn’t go through properly. On the day of the tour, I borrowed one from the guide, which worked out fine. The guide was really helpful. Thank you!

今回、両親と参加させていただきました。
高齢者の両親と、前日縄文杉ツアーに参加した私たちが最後まで行けるか不安でしたが、ガイドさんの案内で無事に苔むす森まで行くことが出来ました。
また途中でのお話など楽しく、屋久島通に少しはなれたかな？と思います。
ただ、こちらの確認不足ですが、ストックのレンタル依頼をツアーの申込みの時にしたのですが、申込みがうまく出来ていませんでした。
当日、ガイドさんに1本お借りしてなんとかなりました。
ガイドさんには本当に良くしていただきました。

I was torn between the Jomon Sugi course and the Shiratani Unsuikyo, but I made the right choice by opting for Shiratani Unsuikyo since I wasn't confident in my leg strength! The shades of green were incredibly beautiful, and I felt like I wanted to come back just to experience this scenery again. The tour guide was also a great person, and since they explained the highlights along the way, I was able to walk leisurely and have a fun time. I was also happy that it turned into a private tour, perhaps because it was the off-season (^ ^).

縄文杉コースと悩みましたが、脚力に自信がなかったので白谷雲水峡をチョイスして正解でした！緑の色合いも最高に美しく、この景色を味わうためにもう一度来たいと思いました。
ツアーのガイドさんも良い方で、見どころを解説しながらなので、のんびり歩け、楽しく時間が過ぎていきました。シーズンオフだからか、プライベートツアーになったのも嬉しかったです(^ ^)

The guide was very enjoyable, the pace was just right, and the advice was spot on, allowing us to proceed smoothly. I participated alone, but the guide was considerate, and the people I was with were nice, making for a very pleasant experience. It would have been even better if we had time for introductions at the beginning since I hardly knew anyone's name despite walking together.

ガイドさんがとても楽しい方で、ペースもちょうど良く、アドバイスも的確で、順調に行ってくることが出来ました。
一人で参加しましたが、ガイドさんがお気遣いくださったり、一緒になった人たちも良い人たちで、楽しく過ごせてとても良かったです。
せっかくご一緒したのにほとんどお名前も知らないまま共に歩いたので、最初の方で皆さんとの自己紹介の時間がいただけたらなお良かったです。

The Jomon Sugi was certainly the highlight, but thanks to our guide's explanations, I learned about the rare vegetation and thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors! The round trip of 22 km and 10 hours of hiking left my legs sore the next day, making it hard to walk, but it's a healing place that makes me want to go back again.

縄文杉はもちろん目玉でしたが、ガイドさんの説明のおかげでめずらしい植生を知り、大自然を満喫できました！
往復22km、10時間の歩き登山はさすがに翌日は足がバキバキで歩くのもやっとでしたが、また行きたいと思える癒しの場所です。

I am a student at a technical college. We had a somewhat unusual school trip where we disbanded in Kumamoto and took four days to return to our hometown, Fukui. There are many places I want to visit along the way, like Universal Studios Japan, Beppu Onsen, and Hiroshima. However, I thought we should go to places we might never visit again in our lives. That's when I started researching and came across the idea of Yakushima. So, four of us students applied for this tour.

We started in the dark with flashlights in hand. It rained on and off along the way. I thought it was supposed to be cloudy according to the weather forecast, but I realized the terrifying nature of Yakushima's climate change. During the tour, we were able to see the sunrise. Since it was the off-season, we could take a lot of photos. During the busy season, other tour groups create lines, making it difficult to take pictures.

I won't describe my impressions of the Yakusugi trees because that would take away from the experience. It's something that can't be conveyed in words; you have to experience it to understand.

As students, we wanted to keep travel costs low. However, I thought this wasn't the place to be stingy, so after arriving in Yakushima, I rented a raincoat and hiking boots from a rental shop. This was a fantastic decision. It would have been a mistake to wear my own sneakers, as they would have gotten wet instantly. Even if it was sunny, there were still puddles left (and some deep ones too).

Another piece of advice... portable toilets? I didn't use them, but it's definitely better to have them available. I brought two bottles each of tea and sports drinks. We also drank spring water along the way. Additionally, a sports towel is necessary since you'll sweat a lot.

The guesthouses we stayed at before and after the tour were different, but it was reassuring that we could store our large luggage on the tour bus. On the day of the tour, I participated with just one backpack.

We ordered our lunch during the tour meeting when we landed in Yakushima and paid for it, so we didn't have to prepare breakfast before the hike or lunch along the way.

Well, that's about it. Although we were students with zero hiking experience, we were able to create unforgettable memories. Thank you very much. For those who will be applying for the tour, I hope you enjoy it. It will undoubtedly become a lifelong memory.

高専の学生です。熊本で解散をして、地元、福井に4日間かけて帰ってこい。という、ちょっと不思議な修学旅行。熊本から福井まで、USJとか別府温泉とか広島とか、いろいろ行きたいと思う場所はある。けど、人生でもう来れないかもしれないという所に行こう。そう言って調べ始めてたどり着いたのが屋久島という案だった。そしてこのツアーに学生4人で応募。
朝真っ暗な状況で懐中電灯片手にスタート。途中で雨が降ったり止んだり。天気予報では曇りだったのになぁ…と思いながらも、屋久島の気候変動の恐ろしさを実感しました。ツアー途中では日の出も見れました。閑散期だけあって、たくさん写真撮影も出来ました。繁忙期は他のツアーの人達が列を作るのでなかなか写真撮影が出来ない。とのこと。

屋久杉を見た感想を述べてしまうと面白みがなくなってしまうので省略します。これは言葉では伝えれません。体験しないと分からないものだと感じました。

さて、学生という訳でなるべく旅費を安く済ませたいもの。しかし、ここはケチるところじゃないやろ、って思って屋久島入ってからレンタルショップで借りたのがレインコートと登山靴。これは素晴らしかったです。大正解でした。自前の運動靴だと一瞬で濡れてしまいます。晴れていたとしても水たまりは残ります。(深い水たまりも沢山ありました)

他にもアドバイス…。。簡易トイレでしょうか。使いませんでしたが必ずあった方がいいですね。
お茶とスポーツドリンクは2本づつ持っていきました。途中で湧き水も飲みました。
あとはスポーツタオル、汗かくので要りますね。

ツアー前と後で泊まる民宿が違ったのですが、大きな荷物はツアーのバスの中で保管しておいて貰えるので安心でした。当日はリュック一つで参加しました。

お弁当は屋久島に上陸した時のツアーミーティングで注文をしてお金を払ったので、当日、登山前の朝ごはんと途中のお昼ご飯は、特別僕らが用意する必要ありませんでした。

ま、そんなもんでしょうか。
登山経歴0の学生達でしたが、一生の思い出を作ることができました。

これからツアー申し込まれる方、どうぞ楽しんできてください。一生の思い出になること、間違いないと思います。

The day after visiting Jomon Sugi, I had to return on the evening flight, so I signed up for an early morning departure to reach Taiko Rock. Since there were only two participants, including myself, they arranged for a 6 AM departure instead of the scheduled 5 AM, allowing us to start just as it was getting light without needing headlamps. There were few people, making it easy to walk.

Although there were many clouds, the sun was shining, and it was a pleasant trek. There is a famous spot called "Mossy Forest," but the entire Shiratani area was a magnificent moss world, not just that particular place. Taiko Rock had a fantastic view, and I felt it was worth coming all the way here. It would be a real shame to turn back at the Mossy Forest, so I highly recommend going all the way to Taiko Rock.

縄文杉の翌日でしたが、夕方便で帰らなければならず、太鼓岩まで行きたかったので早朝出発で申し込みました。
参加者が私ともう一人しかいなかったためか、一応5時出発の予定と書いてありますが、6時出発にアレンジしていただき、ヘッドランプを使わずちょうど明るくなってきたころの出発で、人も少なくて歩きやすかったです。
雲は多かったですが日差しもあり、気持ちの良いトレッキングでした。
「苔むす森」という有名な場所がありますが、特にそこに限らず白谷全体が見事な苔ワールドでした。
太鼓岩はとても見晴らしが良くて、ここまで来てよかったと思える場所でした。
苔むす森で引き返すのは本当にもったいないので、ぜひ太鼓岩まで行ってほしいです。

My first visit to Yakushima was for the Jomon Sugi trekking, which I had been wanting to do for a long time. Since I don’t exercise at all, I was quite nervous about the 22 km round trip and 10-hour trek, but it turned out that 16 km of it was on a flat trolley road with minimal elevation change, and the actual mountain trail was only about 6 km, so it wasn't as tough as I had imagined.

On the middle day of the three-day weekend in November, the weather was perfect—cloudy with occasional sunshine after the rain, neither too hot nor too cold. I believe the guide's pacing was also perfect. There were seven participants, all women including myself, and the guide provided warnings about slippery areas and steep inclines in advance, so we were able to complete the trek without any injuries.

The only disappointment was that the fog was so thick at the top that my photos of Jomon Sugi turned out completely white. Some of the guides mentioned that they actually prefer the majestic feel of Jomon Sugi in the fog, but since it was my first time, I would have liked to see it clearly. However, it didn’t rain, and all the other cedars aside from Jomon Sugi looked beautiful in photos, and I could see Jomon Sugi clearly with my own eyes, so wanting more might be a bit greedy.

By the way, most of the guides in Yakushima work freelance, and only a handful are affiliated with any particular company. It seems they are dispatched from Company A one time and Company B another time, so choosing based on the reputation of a specific company's guides might not be very meaningful. However, the guide for the tour I participated in was excellent, and the other guides I passed along the way seemed to be enjoying themselves, so there’s probably not much to worry about in that regard.

初めての屋久島、絶対行きたいと思っていた縄文杉トレッキングでした。
普段全く運動をしないので、往復22㎞、10時間のトレッキングにびびりまくってましたが、うち16㎞はトロッコ道であまり高低差がなく、実際の山道は6㎞程度だったため、思ったほどではありませんでした。
11月の3連休の中日、雨上がりで曇り時々晴れ、暑くもなく寒くもなくという好条件で、ガイドの方のペース配分がまた完璧だったおかげと思います。
参加者は私を含めて女性ばかり7人でしたが、滑りやすいところや傾斜の急なところは事前に注意喚起して下さり、一人のけが人を出すこともなく全員完歩することができました。ポイントポイントで丁寧に説明もして頂けました。
ひとつだけ残念だったのは、上の方の霧がすごくて、縄文杉の写真が真っ白になっちゃったことくらいでしょうか。
ガイドさんたちの中には、霧の中の縄文杉の方が厳かな感じで好きだという方もいらっしゃるようですが、初めてだとやはりくっきりはっきりした姿が見たかったかも。
でも、雨も降らなかったし、縄文杉以外の杉は全てきれいに写真に納まったし、縄文杉も肉眼ではきれいに見えたしで、これ以上望むのは贅沢かもしれません。
ちなみに、屋久島のガイドさんたちは、ほとんどがフリーで働いてて、どこかの会社に所属している方はほんの一握りなのだそうです。ある時はＡ社から、ある時はＢ社から派遣されて、みたいな感じのようなので、「この会社のガイドさんの評判が良い」とか「悪い」とかで選ぶのはあまり意味がないみたいです。
ただ、私が参加したツアーのガイドさんもとても良かったですし、道すがらすれ違う他のガイドさんたちもみなさん楽しそうな感じでしたので、そこはあまり心配ないのかも。

I recently participated in a tour and went trekking to Jomon Sugi. Thanks to the guide's attentive care and thorough, interesting explanations at key points, I was able to enjoy the approximately 10-hour journey! The guide was relaxed and friendly, which made it easy to talk and enjoy the experience without feeling nervous from the start. Yakushima's great nature is truly amazing. I definitely want to visit Yakushima again soon.

つい先日ツアーに参加し、縄文杉トレッキングをしてきました。
ガイドの方の細やかな気配りと要所での丁寧かつ興味深い解説のおかげで、約１０時間に及ぶ行程を楽しく乗り切ることができました！
ガイドさんはゆったりとしていて親しみやすい方で、始めから緊張せずリラックスしてお話ができて楽しかったです。
屋久島の大自然は本当に最高です。近いうちに是非また屋久島を訪れたいと思います。

I participated in the morning of my last day of stay. I was very satisfied to be able to see points that I couldn't visit on my own, slowly and carefully. The service provided by the driver and guide was wonderful. They shared a wealth of knowledge and experiences about the mountains, plants, and the island's history, and took many photos at each stop. As someone traveling alone, this was especially appreciated. It was clear that they had studied a lot, as growing up on the island doesn't mean knowing everything. It was a great way to wrap up my trip. I highly recommend this tour!

滞在最終日の午前中に参加しました。自力では回れなかったポイントを、ゆっくり丁寧に見ることができて大満足です。
運転とガイドを担当くださった方のサービスが素晴らしかったです。山のこと、植物のこと、島の歴史等、島育ちのさまざまな知識やご経験を余すところなくお話くださって、立ち寄る先々で写真もたくさん撮ってくださいました。ひとり旅だった私には、特にありがたいことでした。
島で育ったから何でも知っているわけではなく、とても勉強されているのも伝わりました。
旅のよい締めくくりになりました。このツアーは、本当にオススメです！

I arrived at Yakushima Airport around noon and participated in the afternoon tour. The itinerary mentioned a 50-minute walk through the Jomon Sugi and Yakusugi Land. So, I assumed that the Yakusugi Land tour would be the 50-minute course up to the Buddha Sugi. However, during the ride, the driver mentioned, "We will have about a 40-minute walk at Yakusugi Land," which gave me a bit of a bad feeling... Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be accurate, as we only had a 30-minute walking course, and it ended in no time.

Looking at reviews, it seems that it can depend on the driver (and guide) for the day. That day, there were already four people who had been on a full-day tour since the morning, and three additional people, including myself, boarded from the airport, so the driver might have been tired. Well, it was inexpensive, and I was able to make decent use of my arrival day, but it was quite disappointing.

お昼に屋久島空港に着いて、午後から参加しました。
紀元杉と、ヤスクギランド50分程度の散策、という能書きでした。
なので、ヤクスギランドは仏陀杉までの50分コースなのだろうと思っていました。
が、車内で「ヤクスギランドでは40分程度散策します。」と運転手さんが仰るのでちょっと嫌な予感が・・・
その予感は的中し、なんと、30分コースの散策のみであっという間に終了してしまいました。
口コミを見ると、その日の担当ドライバー（兼ガイド）さんにもよるみたいですね。
その日は朝から1日コースに参加されてる方が既に4人いて、空港から私を含め3人追加で乗り込んだ感じで、お疲れだったのかもしれません。
まあ安いし、到着日をまあまあ有効に使えましたが、かなり残念でした。

I participated with two female friends. We had very little experience with hiking and trekking, so we had a lot of anxiety, but it was helpful that they called us the day before, allowing us to ask questions. On the day of the hike, we were in a group of seven, and since the path was narrow, we had to walk in a line. It was a bit difficult to hear the guide's voice when we were at the back, but they adjusted the walking pace and break timings for us, so it was manageable. The round trip took 11 hours on the mountain trail, and by the end, my legs felt like stiff sticks, but the sight of the moss-covered rocks, fallen trees, and the presence of a 2000-year-old cedar that appeared when the fog cleared was very impressive. I didn't know how to get on the hiking bus or how to manage the time, so I'm really glad I requested a guided tour. If I have the opportunity to visit again someday, I plan to use their services once more.

友人と女子2人で参加しました。
登山やトレッキングの経験がほとんどなく、たくさん不安がありましたが、前日にお電話を下さり、質問が出来たので助かりました。当日は7人グループで、道が狭く一列に並んで歩く為、どうしても後ろだとガイドさんの声が聞こえず、少し苦労しましたが、歩くペースや休憩のタイミングなどは合わせて下さったので、大丈夫でした。往復11時間の山道、最後は足がカチカチの棒でしたが、苔茂る岩や倒木の光景、霧が晴れた所に現れた樹齢2000年を超える杉の存在感はとても印象的でした。登山バスの乗り方や、時間配分の取り方も分からなかったので、ガイドツアーをお願いして本当に良かったです。いつかまた訪問する機会があれば、その時も利用させて頂こうと思います。

We participated as a family of three, including my 12-year-old daughter and my husband. I was worried about whether we could walk until the end, but the guide shared various stories and provided us with warm miso soup and coffee, which gave us energy!

Thanks to the guide's fun explanations and kind advice, we were able to see Jomon Sugi! ✨ I'm really grateful! ✨ The miso soup served for lunch was also very delicious! 全く運動をしておらず、前日に太鼓岩に自分達で訪れた後で、疲労困憊、ありえないほどの筋肉痛で臨んだ縄文杉トレッキングでした。　ガイドさんの楽しい説明や親切な助言で何とか縄文杉を見ることができました✨

I was worried because the reviews about the quality of the guides were mixed. However, the guide who assisted us that day, Mr. Yokota, was very enthusiastic in his explanations and managed the pace perfectly while also handling our two noisy children. We were blessed with good weather and were able to create wonderful memories. I am grateful for that.

Webでガイドさんの質が玉石混淆のような評判だったので、心配していました。
当日相手をして下さったガイドさん（横田さん）は熱心に説明して下さり、やかましい二人の子供を相手しつつペース配分も抜群でした。
天候にも恵まれ、大変良い思い出を作ることが出来ました、感謝しています。

The day before, I walked around a lot and ended up more tired than I expected... I didn't think much about it when I signed up, but the bus after walking around is highly recommended. (laughs)

This trip had a short duration, but I was able to visit many places, so I’m very satisfied!! I also encountered the monkeys and deer of Yakushima, and I was able to soak in the negative ions from the waterfalls, making it a truly refreshing trip.

前日は色々歩き回ったのですが、思った以上に疲れてしまい、、、申し込んだ時はそんなに考えてなかったのですが、歩き回った後のバスは凄くおすすめです。笑

今回の旅は滞在期間が短かったのですが、まとめて巡れたので大満足！！屋久島の猿や鹿達にも出会え、滝のマイナスイオンも浴びて、ほんとリフレッシュできた旅になりました。

Please avoid tours from this company. Even if they are a bit more expensive, choose tours from other companies. I had a sad and painful experience due to the poor guide. The guide walked so fast that they left all eight participants behind. The explanations were only at the level found in a guidebook (and the voice was so quiet that more than half of the people couldn't hear), and the responses to our questions were inadequate. Without any explanation about additional fees, they lent us equipment and later asked for payment. The difference compared to other guides around us (who were engaging and provided plenty of explanations) was so stark that I became sad halfway through.

When I later communicated this to the roadside station tourism company, they said it was my fault, and there was no proper apology or even a refund for the equipment rental fees. Now I understand why they are cheaper than others. This company's tours should be avoided. I never expected that a once-in-a-lifetime experience would turn out like this.

この会社のツアーは避けてください。少し高くても、他の会社さんのツアーにしてください。とにかく、ガイドさんが悪くて悲しいつらい思いをしました。ツアー参加者8人全員を置いていくほど速く歩く。ガイドブックに載っている程度の説明しかぜず（しかも声が小さく、半分以上の人が聞こえない）、こちらの質問には適当な返事。料金がかかる等の説明なく、道具を貸して後で金払えと言ってくる。とにかく、周りの別のガイドさん（声掛けも説明もたくさんされている方々ばかりでした）との差がひどくて、途中から悲しくなってきました。
道の駅観光さんに後日上記のことを伝えると、私側が悪いそうで、適切な謝罪もなく、道具貸出の料金返金すらありませんでした。他より安い理由がわかりました。この会社のツアーは避けるべきです。一生に一度の経験が、こんな経験になるとは予想していませんでした。

It was unfortunately rainy, but I finally got to go after wanting to for four years! It would have been even better if it had been sunny, but I still felt the great nature and got to see the scenery that inspired "Princess Mononoke." It was an amazing time! The greatness of Yakushima can only be understood by seeing it in person!

あいにくの雨でしたが、四年間行きたくてようやく行けました！
晴れだともっと最高でしたが、それでも大自然を感じられ、もののけ姫の舞台となった景色も見れて、最高の時間でした！

This is my third time at Shiratani Unsuikyo, but it was my first time trekking in the early morning! Trekking while feeling the fresh greenery of the morning was amazing! The guide was also great, and I thoroughly enjoyed Taiko Rock.

今回白谷雲水峡自体は三回目ですが
早朝トレッキングは初めてでした!
朝の新緑を感じながらのトレッキングは最高でした!
ガイドさんも良い方で
太鼓岩を十分満喫させて頂きました。

I usually don't exercise much, so I was worried about the 22-kilometer distance, but thanks to the guide's precise pacing, I was able to complete it successfully. The explanations along the way were clear, and at various points, we were able to take photos, making for a wonderful guide. Seeing Jomon Sugi was a great memory, but even more than that, being able to walk the full 22 kilometers became a cherished memory.

普段はあまり運動もしてなく、２２キロという距離が不安でしたがガイドさんの的確なペース配分のお陰で無事に完歩できました。
もちろん途中の説明も分かりやすく、ポイントでは写真も撮っていただき、素晴らしいガイドさんでした。
縄文杉を見られたこともいい思い出ですが、それ以上に２２キロ完歩できたことがいい思い出になりました。

Walking in the rain was challenging for temperature regulation, but the raindrops sparkling in the forest were beautiful.

From October 7 to 8, we entered Shiratani Unsuikyo and stayed overnight at Takatsuka Lodge before descending to the Arakawa Trailhead. It was a trekking course with three of us who don't usually exercise and our guide, Yukki. We started the hike on a day that wasn't cold, and I was fine in just a short-sleeved T-shirt. Although we began with Yukki's guidance, I was filled with anxiety about whether I could make it to the top due to my lack of fitness. However, Yukki encouraged us, and we were able to reach the summit. If it had been a day hike, I might not have been able to keep up. Fortunately, although there were times when it was foggy, both days were sunny, which was great. It was quite crowded due to the holiday, but we felt like we had the place mostly to ourselves, allowing us to enjoy the scenery and listen to our guide's stories without missing anything. There was no waiting for the restroom either. I think it was a great decision to hire a private guide. I thought it might be a bit expensive, but it was definitely worth it. We were able to take as many photos as we wanted at the Wilson stump since we had the place to ourselves, and we encountered various things along the way, like Yakushima monkeys, Japanese rat snakes, frogs, insects like spiders, and different mushrooms. Yukki caught each one and explained them to us. The dinner pot Yukki made, the hotcakes for breakfast, and the ramen for lunch were all delicious. It was also very interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories from our guide. When I visit Yakushima again, I hope to have Yukki as my guide once more.

10/7～10/8に白谷雲水峡から入り高塚小屋で１泊荒川登山口へ降りるトレッキングコースでした。普段から運動していない３人とガイドの藤山さん（ゆっきー）とでこぼこ登山開始。その日は寒くなく私は半そでＴシャツで十分でした。ゆっきーの案内で開始しましたが普段の運動不足がたたり登りきれるのかなと不安がいっぱいでした。ゆっきーが声を掛けて頂き登りきることが出来ました。日帰りトレッキングだったらついて行けなかったかもしれません。ラッキーなことに霧がかかる時はありましたが2日間とも晴れでとても良かったです。連休ということもありとても混んでいたそうですがほとんど貸切状態でゆったり見れてまたガイドさんの話も聞き逃すことなく聞ける。トイレも待つこともなかったです。貸切ガイドさんを頼んでとても良かったと思います。少し高いかなと思いつつ頼んだのですがそれだけの価値は十分あったと思います。ウィルソン株での写真も貸切状態なのでこころゆくまで取ることが出来ましたし、途中で屋久サル・シマヘビ・カエル・クモのような虫・いろんなきのこなどなどいろんなものに遭遇。一つ一つして捕まえて説明して頂きました。ゆっきーが作ってくれたディナーの鍋や朝食のホットケーキ、ランチのラーメンも美味しかった。ガイドさんの裏話も聞けてとても面白かったです。今度屋久島へ伺う時もゆっきーよろしくお願いします。

It was my first trekking experience in Yakushima. I wasn't very confident in my physical strength, so I requested a private guide. We were blessed with good weather and were able to see the Jomon Sugi glowing orange. The Jomon Sugi bathed in the morning sun is divine. The Shiratani Unsuikyo is also mystical. And above all, the best part is the meals prepared by the guide. Everything was delicious and I was amazed!

屋久島初トレッキングでした。体力的に自信もなかったので、プライベートガイドをお願いしました。お天気にも恵まれ、オレンジ色に光る縄文杉を見ることができました。朝日を浴びた縄文杉は神々しいです。
白谷雲水峡も神秘的です。
そして何と言っても1番はガイドさんが作ってくれる食事です。どれも美味しくてビックリしますよ！

I was a bit anxious because I was the only one in my 50s on a tour of seven people, with everyone else being quite young. However, the guide was very polite and kind, providing various explanations and taking breaks along the way. This made it easy to spend the whole day walking long distances in the rain without it feeling burdensome. Thank you very much. I believe it's best to go on a tour to see Jomon Sugi unless you're very experienced.

7人のツアーで50代の私以外は若い方ばかりで不安でしたが、ガイドの方はとても丁寧で優しく、色々説明して下さりながら、所々で休憩もしながらのペースで進むので雨の中、長い距離も苦にならずに1日過ごす事が出来ました。ありがとうございました。縄文杉はよほど慣れた方でなければ、やはりツアーで行くのがいいと思います。

On the first day of my three-night trip, I took the afternoon half-day course, and on the last day, I took the morning half-day course. I was able to almost circle Yakushima and met Yakushima deer and Yakushima macaques. The guide took photos for me, and I made great memories. Thank you!

3泊旅行の初日に午後半日コース、最終日午前半日のコースを利用させて頂きました。屋久島をほぼ一周し、ヤクシカ、ヤクザルにも会えました。ガイドの方に写真を撮って頂いたり、いい思い出ができました、ありがとうございます。

It rained continuously from departure to arrival. Initially, I planned to hike from Shiratani Unsuikyo to Jomon Sugi and then to the Arakawa Trailhead, but the trolley path was too monotonous, so I decided to do a round trip in Shiratani Unsuikyo. On the way back, the river was swollen, making for a thrilling crossing. The guide was a bit older, but a veteran, so I felt safe leaving it to him. I was very grateful for his thoughtful care during lunch and breaks!

The next day, I was scheduled to hike Mount Miyanoura, but the guide advised, "It's better to skip it because the rain continues and it's dangerous," so we canceled this time. I would like to request the same guide when I go again next time.

出発～到着までずっと雨。当初白谷雲水峡～縄文杉～荒川登山口の予定でしたが、トロッコ道があまりに単調なので白谷雲水峡にピストン。帰りは川も増水していてスリリングな渡渉になりました。ガイドは少々年配ですが、ベテランガイドさんで、安心しておまかせしていました。昼食時や休憩時もさりげない心遣いに感謝感激！
翌日、宮之浦岳登山の予定でしたが、ガイドさんが『雨が続いて危険だからやめた方がいいよ』と言われたので、今回は中止しました。次回行ったらまたガイドをお願いしたいです。

It was a tougher 10 hours than I expected, but the sense of achievement when I reached the top was incredible! The tour provided clothes and shoes, so I was able to go with minimal luggage, which was really helpful.

思った以上に辛い10時間でしたが、登りきったときの達成感が最高でした！
ツアーで服やシューズも用意してもらったので、荷物は最小限で行くことができ助かりました。
