The walk to the destination was very slow, but the return was quick. I thought, "Guide, could we have a little more break, please?" However, I was impressed that no one fell behind and we all made it back to the bus on time. Since the walk there was slow, by the time we arrived, other groups had already started descending, which was nice because it was less crowded.

I encountered deer and monkeys among the six species originally on the island. On the way back, it rained quite a bit, but the misty Jomon Sugi was very mystical and majestic.

行きがとってもゆっくり歩いてくださって、でも帰りが早くて
（ガイドさん、きゅ休憩、休憩をもう少しください～！）と思いましたが
誰一人脱落することなくバスに間に合ったのでさすがだなぁと思いました。
行きがゆっくりだったのでたどり着く頃には他のグループは下山し始めていて空いているのも良かったです。

島にもともといる６種類のうち鹿と猿に出会えました。
帰りは結構降られましたが、煙ぶる縄文杉はとても神秘的で荘厳でした。

I participated in the half-day course at Yakusugi Land in the afternoon. Since it was possible to join as a solo traveler, I attended alone this time. By late August, it seemed that the summer vacation peak had passed, so instead of a bus, we took a taxi. The driver shared a lot of detailed information about Yakushima. We visited Yakusugi Land and the Jomon Sugi, and along the way, he also pointed out some delicious spots for water. On the way back, he kindly stopped at various places to explain things, which made for wonderful memories. He even took me to a shop I wanted to visit on the way back. It was very kind of him. I would like to use this service again.

ヤクスギランドと紀元杉に行きましたが、
途中の美味しい脇水の場所とかも教えてもらったり、帰りみちは所々で下車して丁寧に説明して下さったのでとても思い出になりました。
帰りは寄りたいお店まで送っていただきました。
とても親切でした。
また利用したいです。

Thanks to our guide's humorous stories and encouragement, we were able to complete the 11-hour tour safely. Of course, I was tired, but the sense of achievement is something you can only understand by taking on the challenge. It became an unforgettable memory. We were blessed with good weather, and it was great that all team members returned safely, but I did think that having eight people in the team was a bit much. I felt the charm of Yakushima and became interested in other tours and activities, so I returned hoping to visit Yakushima again. The direct bus was very convenient, especially on the way back. Thank you!

The transportation to the accommodation is included, making it easy to get around. We were picked up at 4 o'clock, and I was able to sleep for about an hour until we arrived at the trailhead. The veteran guide managed our pace and time effectively.

After all, it's a round trip of about 10 hours, approximately 40,000 steps, with an elevation difference of 680 meters, in mid-August, so we need to be cautious of heatstroke, especially since we are beginners. The guide took many photos at various points, explained the history and flora and fauna of Yakushima, and kept our spirits up with plenty of humor.

We were also able to listen to the launch sound of Michibiki 3. The miso soup for lunch was delicious. Additionally, it wasn't just fun; the guide shared profound thoughts like, "Please face Jomon Sugi properly and feel and think about it," and "Being efficient doesn't mean cutting corners."

On the way back, we had a private bus, so I could sleep on the way home. The guide taught us how to care for our tired feet, and I was able to recover from muscle soreness in just two days. I'm grateful.

Due to time constraints, I only participated in the morning course. We visited places like Ohkawa Falls, Gajumaru, the Western Forest Road, and Inakahama. The guide was very skilled at sharing stories and taught me a lot about Yakushima that I wouldn't have known on my own.

First of all, I think it would be great to take this tour to get an overview of Yakushima and then explore your favorite spots individually! I recommend it for those who have limited travel schedules or for families with small children.

My first mountain climbing experience. I was anxious since I was traveling alone as a woman, but the guide helped by pacing us slowly. Additionally, I was able to climb lightly by leaving my luggage along the way, which helped conserve my energy. When I actually went, I found that I really loved the mountains in Shiratani Unsuikyo more than Jomon Sugi, so it was a great decision to be greedy. If you only go to Jomon Sugi, you'll just see a long trolley path and a lot of cedar trees. It's a long course, but there are tourist spots along the way, so it doesn't get boring. If you walk slowly and without rushing, you can conserve your stamina. The Shiratani Unsuikyo to Jomon Sugi course avoids the crowds of climbers on the Jomon Sugi-only course. This way, you can climb at your own pace, and there was hardly any waiting for photos or restrooms. I definitely recommend beginners to go with a guide. They teach you about Yakushima's history and more, which is educational, and you really get to appreciate the beauty of Yakushima's nature, which is moving. I can't stay long, but...

I chose this tour because it includes a private shuttle bus and rental services. I participated with my daughter. Since I was the oldest at 50 years old among the other two girls and five guides, I worked hard not to be a burden to everyone (laughs). The trek from Shiratani to Jomon Sugi and back was quite tough, but thanks to the guide saving the detour to Taiko Rock for the end, I was able to finish on a high note. My knees were at their limit, and I barely made it to the goal. Mentally, I felt I could still go on, but my body was at its limit; my daughter felt physically fine but was mentally exhausted (laughs). I would have retired if it had rained even a little. The pleasant breeze was on my side, and I felt like I was called by Jomon Sugi (laughs).

For over 12 hours, the guide kept talking, which made the walk enjoyable and kept us from getting bored. Thank you for the fun stories. Thanks to the various quizzes about Princess Mononoke, even though I’ve never seen it, I’m looking forward to renting the DVD and watching it while recalling the guide's stories.

Due to time constraints, we chose a tour that covered Jomon Sugi and Shiratani in one day, but for the second time, I might do them separately (laughs). Or perhaps in at Arakawa and out at Shiratani (laughs) since I want to save Taiko Rock for last.

I think this tour course is definitely one that those with confidence in their physical strength should join. The in-and-out of Shiratani will create wonderful memories, but be prepared (laughs) before participating. 娘と二人で参加させてもらいました。他の二人の女の子、ガイドさん5人の中で最年長50才の自分だったので皆さんに迷惑がかからないように頑張りました(笑)白谷in→縄文杉→白谷outはかなりキツかったのですが、往路にあえて外した太鼓岩を最後に残しておいて下さったおかげで、最高な気分で終えることができました。ひざが限界で本当にギリギリのゴールでした。自分は精神的にはまだまだいけたのですが体が限界、娘は体はまだまだいけるが精神的に限界(笑)自分は、ちょっとでも雨が降ったらリタイヤでしたね。気持ちの良い風も味方してくれたりして、自分は縄文杉に呼ばれたんだなと実感しています(笑)
12時間以上の長い間、ガイドさんが終始お話してくれて、飽きることなく歩き続けられました。楽しいお話ありがとうございました。もののけ姫のいろいろなクイズのおかげで、もののけ姫をみたことがない自分ですがDVDをレンタルしてガイドさんのお話を思い出しながら観るのが楽しみです。
今回は滞在時間の関係で縄文杉と白谷雲水峡を１日でというツアーを選択しましが2回目は別々かな(笑)または荒川口in→縄文杉→白谷outとか(笑)太鼓岩は最後にとっておきたいので。
体力に自信のある方には是非、参加してほしいツアーコースだと思います。in&out白谷は最高の思い出になりますが覚悟して(笑)参加して下さいね。ただ、ガイドさんが参加者の状況でoutを荒川口にするか白谷にするか決めてくださいます。相談してみて下さいね。
また絶対行きたいと思います。

This was my first experience with trekking, and the guide adjusted the pace to match ours, allowing us to enjoy it without any strain. When I first booked this tour, I thought the price was a bit high, but now that it's over, I actually think it was quite affordable. It was that satisfying of a tour.

Since we stayed overnight, we were able to enjoy the highlights without overlapping with the day-trippers, and we got to see the Jomon Sugi at sunrise, which is something you can only experience by staying overnight. The starry sky, the Milky Way, and shooting stars in the mountains were breathtaking!

I didn't expect much from the meals since we were in the mountains, but the quality was surprisingly high, with warm and delicious curry made from spices, and they even prepared drinks for us despite the weight. It felt like the guide's bag was a fourth-dimensional pocket, as he pulled out everything we needed. (laughs)

Additionally, the guide listened to our requests for photos with the Kodama from "Princess Mononoke" and Ashitaka, and took many beautiful pictures for us! I often use optional tours when I travel, but the staff usually tries to sell the photos for a considerable amount at the end of the tour. However, the guide provided over a hundred photos and sent them to us for free via AirDrop at the end. Thank you so much!!!

I definitely want to book this tour again the next time I visit Yakushima! Thank you for the wonderful memories!!

　トレッキング初体験での参加となりましたが、ガイドさんがペースに合わせて下さり無理なく楽しく終えることができました。
　今回のツアーで最初予約するとき、少し値段が高いかな？と思ってしまいましたが、ツアーを終えた今、むしろ安かったと思っています。それくらい大満足のツアーでした。
　泊りで行く分、日帰り組の人達と被らずに見どころを独り占めかのように見れましたし、中でも朝焼けの縄文杉を見れたりと、泊りでしか経験できない山の姿を見ることができました。
　山の中で見る星空、天の川、流れ星。。感動しました！
　食事も山の中だからと期待していなかったのですが、山の中とは思えないほどのクオリティで温かくておいしいスパイスから作ったカレーなど頂くことができ、重たいのにお酒までご準備してくれていました。四次元ポケットじゃないかと思うくらいガイドさんの鞄からは何でも出てきます。笑
　その他にも私達が家から持参したもののけ姫のこだまや、アシタカと写真が撮りたいと言うリクエストも聞いて下さり綺麗な写真を沢山撮ってくださいました！私は旅行時こういったオプションツアーはよく利用していますが、いつもスタッフさんが撮ってくれる写真はツアー終了時に結構な金額で売りつけてきます。しかしこれは今回お世話になったガイドさんのサービスだと思いますが、百枚を超える数の写真を終了時AirDropで無料で送って来てくれました。本当にありがとうございます！！！
　次回も絶対屋久島へ行くときはこのツアーを申し込みさせていただきたいです！

First trekking experience. 初めてのトレッキング

I was picked up at the inn at 4:30 AM and took a private bus to the Arakawa trailhead. Since there was no need to transfer to a shuttle bus, I was able to take a nap. We had breakfast at the trailhead, did some stretching, and then started our hike. I was really anxious about my first trekking experience at Jomon Sugi, but the guide helped with pacing and timing, and taught us stretching methods, so I just had to do my best to keep up, and I was able to reach Jomon Sugi safely. The miso soup we had for lunch was very delicious.

Taking a break by dipping my feet in the river on the way back was truly refreshing and felt great. My legs were sore for a few days, but I got to see Jomon Sugi, Yakushima monkeys, and Yakushima deer, making it a wonderful memory for my summer vacation. Thank you, guide Ide!

朝四時半に宿に迎えに来ていただいて専用バスで荒川登山口へ。シャトルバスに乗り換える必要がないので仮眠できました。登山口で朝食をとり、ストレッチをして登山開始です。人生初のトレッキングが縄文杉で本当に行ってこれるのか不安でしたが、ガイドさんがペース配分、時間配分してくれるし、ストレッチの方法なども教えて下さるので頑張ってついていくだけで、無事縄文杉にたどりつけました。昼食に出していただいたお味噌汁はとってもおいしかったです。
帰り道での川に足をつけての休憩はホントにリフレッシュでき、気持ちよかったです。
足は筋肉痛になって数日大変でしたが、縄文杉や屋久猿、屋久鹿もみれたし、夏休みのいい思い出になりました。ガイドの井手さんありがとうございました！

We were able to enjoy a pleasant walk until the very end in the best weather. Our guide, Mr. Iwakawa, shared so many stories that we didn't feel tired during the long journey, and since it was difficult for the two of us to take photos during the trip, we were really happy to have so many pictures taken! He also paid attention to our walking pace, allowing us to go back and forth without any trouble. With transportation included to our accommodation, it was an easy move. Our humble guide took many photos at various points and adjusted the pace and timing to match our stamina. Additionally, the kind guide treated us to jelly, miso soup for lunch, tankan pound cake, and tea. Even though it was mid-August, we were able to make a round trip to Taiko Rock without suffering from heatstroke or giving up. The explanations about the climate, plant life, and geological layers were enjoyable. When I mentioned that I would participate in the Jomon Sugi tour the next day, the guide provided precise advice about the equipment. I'm grateful to the guide. I wonder if the songs playing in the car were the guide's own performances? Just a thought.

素朴なガイドさんがポイントポイントで写真をたくさん撮ってくれ、私達の体力に合わせたペースと時間の配分をしてくれました。
さらに、親切なガイドさんで、ゼリー、お昼のお味噌汁、たんかんパウンドケーキと紅茶をふるまってくれ、8月中旬でしたが、熱中症にならずに、くじけずに太鼓岩まで往復できました。
気候、植物の植生、地層なども解説してくれて、楽しかったです。
また、翌日縄文杉ツアーに参加すると話したら、装備品について的確なアドバイスをしてくれました。ガイドさんに感謝です。

I participated despite feeling unwell, but the guide was so interesting that everyone was sore from trekking to Jomon Sugi, yet we forgot our fatigue and had a great time. The guide even showed us how to take photos and provided items, making it a fun tour for the ladies! You definitely should go to Taiko Rock in the morning! The guide, Tsumagari, was really great!

体調不良での参加でしたが、ガイドさんがおもしろくて、みんな縄文杉の筋肉痛でしんどかったけど、疲れを忘れとても楽しいトレッキングでした。写真の撮り方とか、アイテムまで出してくれて、女子には嬉しい楽しいツアーでした！太鼓岩は絶対朝から行くべきです！！ガイドのつまがりさんめっちゃ良かったです！！

I thought it might be impossible, but I'm glad I was able to go without any issues. At first, I thought there might be too few breaks, but later I realized it was good to go at the pace set by the guide. This tour is highly recommended as it uses a chartered bus without needing to transfer at the Nature Museum. Our guide, Mr. Oki, was excellent. I would like to request him again if I come back to Yakushima.

I visited with a friend on August 13, 2017. Despite it being the Obon holiday, we appreciated the consideration to avoid the crowds, allowing us to take our time and enjoy the experience! The talks about the history of the forests in Yakushima were great, and we were able to go at our own pace, relaxing by the river and enjoying services we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. It seems that the only course that covers Shiratani Unsuikyo, Taiko Rock, Wilson Stump, and Jomon Sugi in one day is this one from Veltra. The meeting time is at 4:30 AM, and we disband around 5 PM to 6 PM. Whether you choose just the Shiratani Unsuikyo course or just the Jomon Sugi course, you will still experience muscle soreness the next day. In that case, it might be better to do it all at once (laughs).

However, this course is for those who are physically fit and confident in their stamina, as it is designed for the chosen ones. I, who honestly underestimated it and don’t usually exercise much, ended up waiting at Wilson Stump while the other members went on to Jomon Sugi. I was satisfied that I was able to reach Taiko Rock (which was incredibly beautiful on that clear day) – it felt like a miracle.

Also, I felt it was great to have a guide because they not only know the paths well but also consider the pace. Before the tougher climbs like Taiko Rock and Jomon Sugi, they suggested leaving our backpacks behind (which is something beginners might not think of). Thank you, Mr. Shimozono. I look forward to your help again next time! ^^*

1日で白谷雲水峡～太鼓岩～ウィルソン株～縄文杉を巡るのは、ベルトラのこちらのコースだけのようです。
朝4時半集合で、解散は17時～18時くらい。
白谷雲水峡だけのコースでも、縄文杉だけのコースでも、翌日筋肉痛になるのは変わりません。でしたら、1回で済ませた方がよろしいかと(笑)
ただし、日頃から運動していたりして、体力に自信のある、選ばれし者たちのコースでもあります。
日頃大した運動もせず、正直舐めてた私は、ウィルソン株手前で他のメンバーが縄文杉まで行ってくるのを待つことに。太鼓岩(晴れ渡ってめちゃくちゃ綺麗だった)まで行けたのも奇跡だったので満足しています。
また、ガイドを頼んでよかったなぁと感じるのは、道に詳しいのはもちろんのこと、ペース配分を考えてくれることです。太鼓岩や縄文杉など厳しめの登りの前には、ザックなどの荷物を置いていくようにしてくれたり(意外と素人は考えつきません)。

On my first trip to Yakushima, I finally went trekking to Jomon Sugi, which I had been longing to do. I thought it was early when I had a 4:10 AM pickup, but I was so happy to be going to Jomon Sugi that I managed to wake up early.

Before departure, I had a breakfast bento and did some stretching! Walking along the tramway while watching the sunrise and surrounded by beautiful green nature, I enjoyed delicious spring water along the way. After about five and a half hours, I finally reached the long-awaited Jomon Sugi!

Trekking surrounded by many Yakusugi trees was filled with emotions that I can't fully express here. The power of Jomon Sugi is incredible! Thank you to the guide from the Yakushima Guide Association.

初めての屋久島で、念願の縄文杉トレッキングに行きました。朝、4:10のピックアップで、早い〜って思ってましたが、縄文杉に行けることが嬉しく、頑張って早起きしました。
出発前に朝のお弁当を食べ、ストレッチをして出発！
トロッコ道を歩きながら朝日を見て、キレイな緑の自然の中を歩き、途中で美味しい湧き水を飲みながら、約5時間半かけて、やっと念願の縄文杉に辿り着きました！
