Tulum Ruins
Explore the Tulum Ruins, the site of a former Mayan port city. Once walled in from three sides and facing the sea, Tulum is one of the best preserved coastal archaeological sites from the Mayan Empire. Climb up the Castillo, built on the edge of a limestone cliff, and catch a glimpse of the Caribbean’s turquoise waters. See sections of well preserved murals depicting Mayan beliefs at the Temple of Frescoes. Spend some time at the sandy beach bordering the ruins and go swimming or snorkeling.
