変わりやすい天候に注意

友達と参加しました。全て英語による説明だったのですが、ガイドのPaulさんのしゃべりがラジオのDJを思わせるかようなうまさ。車を走らせながら、その土地の説明をしながら、関連する曲の説明、そして、音楽を流してくれます。音楽を終えるとタイミングよく、音を下げてまたしゃべりだすという。スコットランド訛りで聞き取りづらいかと思いましたが、はっきりと話してくれるのでわかりやすかった。ウイスキーが好きな友人がいたので、ウィスキーの蒸留所によってもらえないか？と聞いたところ、快く、他の乗客の許可をとり、みんなでGo.かゆいところにも手が届く案内でした。天候は残念ながら、いつも晴れというわけではなく、まさにスコットランドの変わりやすい天気を体感できたツアーでした。晴れたらもっと綺麗だったんだろうな。。。B&Bも非常に快適で動きやすいいい場所で良かったです。景色申し分なく素晴らしい。次の日の最後のスターリン城はチラ見程度。暗かったのもありますし、ちょっと残念だったかな。最終日ちゃんと見れた城はインバネスの城、ネス湖のほとりの城かな。それでもとても満足したので、チップを渡したかったのですが、彼は受け取らず、またぜひ参加してくれといってくれました。

大自然が素晴らしい！

ロンドンからエディンバラ行きのフライトが遅れた為、参加出来ないと思いましたが、スタッフさん方の親切な対応で日付を変更して頂き無事に参加する事が出来ました。
バス運転手兼ガイドのグレイムさんの対応もとても素晴らしかったです。
スコットランド訛りの英語って程ではありませんでしたが、自分がもっと英語が理解できたら良かったな～といった感じです。　常に楽しいガイドをしてくれるし、何より車窓からの絶景に退屈する事はありません！！
スコットランドの大自然や、天気の移り変わりは日本では絶対体験出来ないので参加する価値大だと思います。
そしてホテル目の前まで向かえに来てくれるので至れり尽くせりです。
帰りのバスは本当に寂しかったです。　またスコットランドに行きたいと思ったし、他のツアーにも参加したいと思います。

※ちらっとハイランド・キャトルも車窓から見れました。観光客にとっては楽しいですが、地元の方はやっぱりそんなに興味はないのかな…

The tour was really good organized by Grey Line Scotland. The guide did his best to show us the most of Scotland. We could even reach Inverness in daylight despite being one of the darkest peroid of the year. I can recommend it.

イギリスの田舎を感じるにはよかったですね。ボート観光はみんな必ずするので最初からセットになっていたほうが良かったと思います。お城は良かったですが、エジンバラ城ほどではなかったです。

ネス湖＆ハイランド日帰り観光ツアー

観光ツアー自体は期待通りだが、ホームページの表記の仕方に問題がある。

スターリングで「ウィリアム･ウォリス･モニュメント」を見ることができる、というような記載があるが、それは虚偽記載である。本ツアーでは「ウィリアム･ウォリス･モニュメント」を見ることはできない。スターリングではコーヒーブレイクがあるだけで(その際ヘミッシュとの遭遇はできた)、「ウィリアム･ウォリス･モニュメント」への訪問など実施しないため。

他の箇所に誤りはないが、「ウィリアム･ウォリス･モニュメント」の表記は削除すべき。

以下、詳細なバス停車スケジュール
･スターリングでコーヒーブレイク(30分)
･グレンコーで写真撮影(5分)
･フォート･ウィリアムで昼食(50分)
･フォート･オーガスタス(ネス湖)で自由時間(90分)
･アーカート城で写真撮影(10分)
･コーヒーブレイク(30分)

上記の通り、12時間の内3時間35分がバス外で、8時間強がバス内での移動時間となっている。ネス湖はエディンバラから非常に遠く、それを1日でこなすのだから上記のようなスケジュールになるのだろう。

ネス湖やハイランドの景色は非常に美しいので、スケジュールに納得できる人にはお薦めできる。☆1つだが、これはホームページに虚偽記載がされているためで、ツアー自体にそこまで不満があるわけではない。

ちなみに、2013年10月現在、ネス湖クルーズの値段は12ポンドとなっている。

We were only visiting Scotland for 4 days so wanted a tour of the Highlands and Loch Ness. We were so glad to book with City discovery the driver was our guide and he was amazing, he hardly stopped talking the whole way! There was nothing more he could have told us. The whole day ran on time and was very enjoyable.

充実した内容でした

ゴルフ好きの父を連れての参加でしたが、セント・アンドリュース以外にも要所要所のスポットで停車・観光の時間があったため、丸一日盛り沢山の内容で満足でした。公共交通手段だけでは効率よく回れないようなエリアもガイド付きのバスで連れて行っていただけるので、エジンバラを拠点にしてスコットランドをより広く見て回りたい場合には最適だと思います。セント・アンドリュースでは長めに時間をとっていただけたので、ゴルフ場の見学や、博物館も十分に見ることが出来て、父も満足してくれました。

出発にけっこう手間取り、一旦乗車してからバス二つにそれぞれ分乗させられたので、一時はどうなることかと思いましたが、運転手さんは運転しながら全体を把握しつつ丁寧なガイドぶりで好感が持てました。スターリング城は一見の価値あり。お城のガイドさんも昔のコスチュームで丁寧に説明してくれます。ただしスコットランド訛りが聞きとれなくて苦労することだけは覚悟。
集合場所などについては事前に確認のメールを送っていただき、とても安心できました。

スカイ島ツアー Rubbies

15人が参加したバスツアーに参加しました。ドライバー兼ガイドの人たちが素晴らしく、飽きることなく三日間過ごせました。見どころをしっかり押さえつつ、天気や状況で判断して見応えのある景色を見せてもらえました。一人参加の人もわりといて、過ごしやすかったです。天気が良くありませんでしたが、むしろスコットランドらしい雰囲気を味わえました。また数年後に参加したいです。個人的には北欧のフィヨルドよりも感動度は高かったです。

セント・アンドリュースでは2時間半たっぷりのんびり過ごすことができました

St AndrewsもDunfermlineも小さいけど美しい町でした。
Anstruther Fish Barのfish＆chipsも、からっと揚がっていて美味しかったです。
Fish＆Chips以外のメニューもありますし、価格帯もエディンバラと比べるといくらか安価な印象です。

ツアーの運転手(ガイド)さんは(たぶん)スコティッシュなので、たまに英語が聞きとりにくいことがありました。
停車の度に、バスの出発時間や乗り場を口頭で案内するので、
不安な方は理解するまで何度も聞き直したほうが良いと思います。
同じ日に参加されていた日本人の方は、ゆっくり話していただけるようにガイドさんにお願いしていました。

We were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather on the day we went on this tour. This is probably what mainly contributed to it being good. However, our tour guide cum driver Graham, was also very knowledgeable and friendly and told us interesting stories from Scottish history. We got beautiful views of the countryside and mountains on this trip too. A longer stop at Glen Coe would have been nice though. The cruise on Loch Ness was enjoyable and the boat captain had us absorbed in his stories. The stop at Pitlochry was also interesting, but by the time we got there, most shops were closed and our time there was short. This is a great tour for those wishing to see the highlands and Inverness in 1 day.

It is convenient that you are picked up from your hostel, and Graham, our tour guide, did his best to drop us off as near to our hotel as possible on return. There was only a drive through Glasgow, so most of the sights passed us by in a second. Cruise on Loch Lomond was interesting. We had to rush through Stirling Castle a little but we did the castle tour which was good. The Trossachs were scenic. Lunch was also a little rushed as we wanted to watch the border collie training session at the venue. No stops at Bannock Burn, Wallace Monument or Linlithgow Palace, so some people did not even get to see them as we drove by. A quick stop at one or two of these locations would have been good. However, an enjoyable trip overall.

田舎の自然を楽しみたい方に

スコットランドの田舎の自然を楽しみたい方や、ローモンド湖やスターリング城に行きたいという方、エジンバラで時間潰しをしたい方にはいいかと思いますが、そうでなければ特におすすめしません。全体的に移動が長いのでバスに乗っている時間のほうが長いですが、ツアーガイドがスコットランドの歴史や地域にまつわる話をしてくれるので、面白いです。
ツアーの説明には宿泊場所に迎えに来てくれると書きつつ、後で別途集合場所を指定されたので紛らわしかったですが、基本的に宿泊場所かその近くの指定場所に迎えにきてくれます。

Tour felt rushed at end by driver who decided on hois own that we shoujld return 30 minutes early and cut our last break short. As the tour was quite long at 12 hours, we were simujltaneolusly getting tired and ready to return but also getting hungry and needing a break from the bus. Therefore, a discussion with bus of preferences would have been appropriate.

Also did not appreciate the driver's lecture at the end about the tipping industry in Scotland and how it is now a service industry that expects tips. This begging for more money gave the tour an amateuriosh feel and it was difficult to determine how much was appropriate for the length of the tour. Please state on tour brochures and registration process whether gratuity is expected and not included. The tour was not cheap for the simple bus ride that it entailed, and the bus was not elaborate or highly comfortable at continaing no toilet and seat beverage holders, etc. We had to pay separately for the one diversion to the lake boat ride, a cost that also should have been noted at the registration.

Bus driver did attempt to provide much historical and geographical naarative which was appreciated. His frequent reprimands to unruly passengers, however, may have put-off certain customers, however.

ネス湖クルーズのためのバス旅行

　往復約550km、12時間。（途中のトイレ・昼食休憩　3回、クルーズ45分含む）
写真ストップでスリーシスターズという岩の前と（チップ目当てのキルトをしっかり着たバグパイパーがいました）、アーカート城（の見える場所）で止まってくれ、最初のトイレ休憩所にハイランドキャトルもいるのでスコットランドらしい写真は撮れます。
ですが本当にネス湖クルーズのためだけに1日使うので、もったいない気がします。特に滞在日数の短い方は・・
私はエジンバラに正味5日滞在し、違う日にはローモンド湖・スターリング城・ウイスキー醸造所のバスツアーにも参加しました。後者の参加は私含め７名。ネス湖は44名でしたが、中身の興味深さでは、後者のツアーの方が上です。（時間は約８時間）
参加者も多く、人数不足で催行されないということはないですが、（私はロスリン教会とアニック城・メルローズアビーのツアーが人数不足で催行されず、ツアーを乗り換えました。）他のツアーのほうがより楽しめるのではないかと思います。

エディンバラから参加しましたが、時間道理にホテルへ迎えに来てもらいました。ただ途中から乗ってきた人たちでバスは満席になり、少々窮屈な感じがしました。ネス湖に向け、素晴らしい景色の中をひたすら走ります。トイレ休憩1回としゃしん撮影で下車しただけで、あとはひたすらネス湖までバスの中です。ガイド兼ドライバーの方は、熱心に説明してくださるのですが、正直ガイドブックに書いてあるようなことを話すだけで、冗談を交えた会話などではなかったので、退屈で大半の方は寝ていました・・・。あとこのツアーの案内に書かれていたアソール公マレー家の居城であったブレア城の見学なんてまったくありませんでした・・・
アーカート城も駐車場から見るだけです。柵が邪魔して写真もうまく取れません・・・。ネス湖で昼食とってボートに乗って帰ってくるだけのツアーの感が否めませんが、沿道の景気が素晴らしかったです。走っているバスのガラス越しでの写真撮影は難しいので、目に焼き付けておかれることをお勧めします。
長時間のツアーの割には、なんとなく今一つ満足できない感じもしました。

Too much sitting in the bus. Only one real stop in Loch Ness (for cruise, extra fee), 3 short photo opportunies, two cofee breaks and one lunch break, all in big hurry. It would have been nice to see Wallace Monument or even one of the castles better, not just couple of seconds in the horizon.

Still, driver/guide was OK and scenery wonderful.

This was a long day, we were delayed at one point with construction & had to make up the time that we lost, so we only had 1/2 hour break on the way back from Loch Ness.

I was not impressed with the cruise on Loch Ness, but the weather was bad so that was part of it.

the coach picked us up right outside our hotel which was the best part! the tour guide was entertaining and informative throughout the journey!
the trip is definitely worth it, best way to the scenic beauty!

It was nice and enjoyable. However we expected that we would drop by the castles which we have hardly seen from distance during the journey. It would be nice to stop a few minutes to take some pictures of these nice buildings although it would cause some time lose.

The tour itself was very good, enough time was alloted for each site. The scenery was breathtaking and the driver was full of information.
I was very impressed by the drivers knowledge of history, his surrounding area, and entertained by all his folk stories.
My only negative to this trip was the fact that we were originally picked up at 8:30 by one very nice driver, hauled all over Edinburgh picking up other passengers that were going on a Distillery trip and others that were going on our Loch Lomond trip, we drove around with him for at least an hour, then we get thrown on another bus ( our intended Loch Lomond bus) and by this time, the only seats available were all the way in the back seat. Well not only is it very uncomfortable, you don't get much of a view, the engine noise was so bad, the driver was barely audible. We thought well we can always try to change seats at the next stop. We attempted to do this when we were reprimanded by the very nice, full of information driver that we were not allowed to change seats that we had to keep our original seats throughout the whole trip as if we were back in school. Needless to say I was a bit upset. Here my friend and I had been the first ones on the Distillery Tour bus, and because of poor planning on someones part we ended up sitting in the worse seats, it put a real damper on the trip. So I suggest you redesign that part of the pick up, or you might even have people meet at the point of departure of the bus. Just a thought.
