This boat ride was amazing. The entertainment was very good with Hawaiian hula dancing and singing. When we got to the grotto it was a short easy walk and once again we were entertained at the grotto where Elvis sang in the movie Blue Hawaii. On the trip back down river one of our guides gave us lots of history of the area including places where movies had been filmed.
It was a very pleasant morning and would recommend Smith’s Fern Grotto tours to everyone.

My family and I visited in October 2022 and rented paddle boards. We had an amazing paddle up the river which followed a beautiful hike up to the Falls It started raining on our way back but it was still an amazing experience. It was super easy yo rent the boards and they instructed us well on how to position them for travel. Definitely recommend and will hopefully return again.

This cruise was so much fun. It started off with the tour guide walking us through so interesting facts. The staff was really funny. They made you feel comfortable. The hula dancer was really good. When the boat landed at the trail, it was really easy. It’s a good tour for elderly or those that are physically challenged. I say this because the hike is more like a short walk on a maintained path. It was great and very inexpensive.

Very relaxing cruise up the river. Beautiful scenery. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also enjoyed the witty sense of humor on the commentaries. The trail is not the best for the elderly and spots on the trail were difficult to maneuver a walker so highly suggest a wheelchair instead, but the scenery was well-worth the trip.

The large deck for viewing was definitely a plus from when I was there back in 2007. Just a little disappointing that the frems were so few. I guess that hurricane did more damage to the environment then I thought.

8月18日、15時30分のツアーに参加しました。日本人は我々3名だけでしたが、70人くらいは乗船しベンチは8割方埋まっていました。流れをほとんど感じない川を30分弱上ると小さな船着場に到着、そこから5分ほど歩くと洞窟前に到着します。10数年前に崩落事故があり以後内部は立ち入り禁止です。採掘場の跡のような感じで、シダの茂り方も思ったより貧相な感じでした。洞窟前や帰りの船上でスタッフが歌やフラを披露してくれます。簡単な実技のレクチャーもあり、英語の解説ですがそれは楽しめました。

リラックスできるアクティビティで、小さなお子さんには最適でしたが、私たちが最後のツアーを受けたため、スタッフの疲れを感じました。早めに行くのがベストです。また、シダの洞窟へのジャングルウォークでは虫除けスプレーを持参することをお勧めします！シダの洞窟は美しかったですが、子供たちの喧嘩の声で説明が聞き取りにくかったです。ハハ。シダの洞窟にスピーカーやメガホンがあれば、もっと聞きやすいかもしれませんね。
It was a relaxing activity and great for littles, but I could sense the tiredness in the crew because we took the last tour of the day. Best to go earlier in the day. Also, be warned to bring bug spray with you on the jungle walk to the fern grotto! Fern grotto was beautiful, but hard to hear explanations over arguing children. Haha. Maybe it would be easier if thye had a loud speaker or megaphone at the fern grotto?

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience renting SUP from us at Kayak Kaua'i. Many way to paddle falls and SUP is a bit more work but fun enough. Our boards are looking a little shabby and we will soon be replacing them with new and fleeter SUP's.
Until our wake cross....stay active and searching for water falls.
