While on this trip, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. We took the Wilua river cruise to the Fern Grotto 40 years ago on our honeymoon, and I'm happy to say that the best parts of this experience have not changed.
We were happy with the new decking in the Grotto, I only wish that they had wheel chairs available at the Grotto. My wife was unable to make it all the way to the main platform, so she missed out on the best part. Our main goal was four our three daughters and our grandson to see it, and they did!

Great trip for any one that has problems walking or doing large hikes. Nice boat ride as you see nature along with kayakers . My family went on this excursion to the Grotto because it looked so good in the brochures. The boat ride up and back was the best part in my opinion. The workers on the boat were very entertaining and told the history of the river and the Grotto.

My family had an awesome time on this tour with our guides Ryan and Cousin Giggles! They made sure all drivers felt comfortable behind the wheel of their ATV and made safety a priority. The trails were fun with a great waterfall stop at the end. Only a few people actually got in the water. My husband did and said the rocks were very slick and water very cold but he would jump in again. It rained that morning but the trails were still very dusty in places and there were also large mud puddles. Take clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting bright red dirt on. My teens stated this was one of their favorite activities.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms! Our 2 guides were amazing, fun and very knowledgeable. Nice boat ride to the Fern Grotto. Driver & dancers were awesome. The singers were exceptional. They sang the Hawaiian wedding song just like they did for us 50yrs ago on our honeymoon. We weren’t able to go inside as before. But it was still magical all the same. Thank you. Carl & Terri OBrien

The grotto was beautiful, the dancing and singing was great. The overhead boat speakers were really hard to hear- we couldn't make out the stories they were telling well. If you get stuck in the middle, you can't see anything. Overall, it's not something I'd do more than once.
