Good, but not the best
投稿者: Andy, 2018/09/05The food was very good, and the show was good as well. My only real complaint is the time gap between events happening. We arrived and were treated to a tram tour of the botanical gardens, which is fabulous. After that we had approximately 40 minutes before the Imu ceremony where they pull the pig out of the oven. Although we further explored the gardens, there's only so many times you can admire a flower or tree. My wife and I decided to find seats (open seating for parties less than 5), and we choose poorly. The bar doesn't open until after the Imu ceremony, so we weren't able to enjoy a drink (other than water) while we waited. After the Imu ceremony, the band started playing music and the bar opened. Once the buffet started, we realized our poor choice of seats, as we were among the last tables to be signaled for the buffet. At least we had drinks by that time, but the waiting wears on you. The food was good, but once we were finished, there was only the music to listen to. Normally this is an opportunity to talk to the other guests, but the seating arrangement isn't conducive to starting a conversation with strangers.
After another 30 minutes or dead time or so, we moved from the dining area to the theater. The show was entertaining, with traditional dances and music, but it just didn't flow as a story for me. I felt like it was more of a documentary of Hawaiian dance. My wife and I were ready to go when it was over (even before).

Nice surprise
投稿者: Mikaela, 2018/08/29My idea about a Luau was...some food and a little bit of Tahitian dancing on a hotel property...This is what we saw year after year walking on Kaanapali beach - Maui .
Smith Family Garden Luau IT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT- worth attending. They are very well organized and offer you a unique experience!
1. You get greeted by a local girl and boy who are offering a lei and at this point you get a group picture taken- nice touch- no pressure to buy it,
2.They offer you a tour of the garden and after that you have time to wander by yourself- 50 min- until they do the pork ceremony.
3. You are invited to your table- parties 6 or more have assigned seats- very thoughtful. They have a neat system to invite you to get the food without overcrowding the area. BTW- plenty of good food and drinks.
4. During the meal they entertain you : a little bit of dancing and singing and they invite people from the crowd to teach them how to dance. It was really neat !!
4. After the meal you are invited to an outdoor theater for an 1 hour show. It was A REAL show...lights, music...put together very professional! Enough seats for everyone, you can seethe scene from every seat . At the entrance you can pick up your photos.
I think it is the only Luau worth attending :)

もう一回行きたい！
投稿者: えれママ, 2018/08/29あいにくの雨模様でしたが、貸してもらったカッパを着て決行。小さい子連れにはほぼマンツーマンでアシストしてくださって安心でした。子供も帰ってから、もう一回行きたい！と言うので、滞在中にもう一度予約できるかな、と思いましたが夏休み期間中だったからか予約は一杯。今度訪れるときには最初から複数回予約しておきたいと思います。

Our entire family from 11 yrs old to adults really enjoyed this trip. The pilot was knowledgeable and shared lots of history and fun facts about the island. It was defiantly a trip we were all happy we took.

Highlight of the whole vacation!

Nice trip to take to see the coast
投稿者: capgard, 2018/07/01No complaints about the boat, captain and crew. It was all professional and attentive. Food was great, beer selection included local and usual brands. As advertised, they don't overcrowd the boat, so there's plenty of room for the passengers. I do recommend a light jacket and hat. Unless you stay in the cabin, you will get wet. How much will depend on where you sit/stand. Amazing views to be seen and we were lucky enough to see a school of porpoises jumping around the ship. Sunset off the aft (back) of the ship was worth it.

投稿者: ユウヤケパットマン, 2018/06/10テレビで見聞きしていましたが、この素晴らしい景観をこの目で見ることができて感動の時間を過ごせました。Pilot（Mr.ダレン）さんの英語と軽妙な日本語での説明で、飛行前の不安を忘れ、リラックスでき、あっという間の時間でした。このツアーに参加するにあたって経験したことを少し、記載しますので参考にしてください。
１. リフエ空港からBlue Hawaiiann事務所まで徒歩で約10分（1㎞）くらい。
（ホテルからカウアイバスを利用したので参考まで）
２．入口ドアを開けると、正面に受付。受付カウンターで名前を告げます。次に、当日の体重を測ることになるのですが、ちょうど自分が立っている足マットの下が、体重計になっています。（何やら説明されていたようですが、よく聞き取れませんでした。）
3. ツアーについての説明開始時間を教えてくれます。
4. ツアーについての説明（安全）は、プロジェクターで行われますが、外国人向けに字幕を付けてくれます。最初のオリエンテーションの最後に必要な人は、と問われるので、”Japanese”。（私は、聞き逃しました。）
5.プロジェクターでの説明後に、自分の乗るヘリコプターの座席位置が知らされます。
6.ツアー終了後、受付カウンターで当日のフライト画像（音声付き）のUSBメモリーを購入できます。40でした。

An authentic Polynesian evening in Kauai
投稿者: Darcy, 2018/06/06On our last night on the island, my friend and I went to the Smith's Luau, and it was one of our most memorable times on Kauai. It was not only informative, but entertaining as well. You can tell that this family owned and operative business is run with love and a true appreciation for Hawaiian culture.
The tram ride took us along the huge gardens, and was a great way to get a quick view of the area. I loved that they have a herd of goats! The babies were just so cute! It was also close to where they were doing the imu or underground oven ceremony. Picture time!
The food was plentiful and really tasty. I loved that they had entertainment (music and dancing) while we ate, and the only thing is that I would personally skip the fruit punch. It was just too sweet! But the food, man! I had two full plates and would have had more, but would have ended up rolling out of there.
Our night concluded with some fantastic performances, and although they weren't the most polished, they were filled with sincerity and a love of hula that can't be matched. You can tell that they truly enjoy being on that stage and it is just so moving. Really happy we went :)

It’s a great way to see the island from up top including the crater, Napali coast, the valleys, mountains, and waterfalls. We even saw where the Rock is filming. I would certainly recommend!

Ok, but could have been better
投稿者: Cindy, 2018/05/26This was our second helicopter experience and a bit disappointing because our view from the back seat was limited and it was difficult to take pictures without obstructions in the way. Also, although the pilot was knowledgeable, he seemed to be terribly lacking in enthusiasm, making the presentation somewhat boring. To be fair, our first experience was in a “no doors” helicopter so we were able to enjoy a much better view. In addition, the pilot on our first trip took more time to show the attractions from both sides of the helicopter to ensure that everyone on the helicopter had the opportunity to get a good view of the main attractions. This was not the case with the 2nd trip (taken last week).

乗り物酔いには注意
投稿者: @@@, 2018/05/25カウアイ島は基本的に日本語が通用しません。こちらのツアーも同じで、ほとんど全てが英語で進みます。ただ、中学英語レベルができればある程度の説明はわかるし、単語もなんとなくわかるキーワードを拾って楽しむことができます。
送迎なしで自力で朝1番のフライトに行きましたが、遅れないように早めに着いたら営業自体が始まっていないから待てとちょっと怒られてしまいました。その後はどのスタッフもとても気さくで、日本人とわかるとゆっくり会話してくれました。
初めてのヘリコプター搭乗でしたが、離着陸はカウアイ島へ渡るハワイアン航空の方が揺れます（笑）。ただ、山肌沿いを進むためか上下する事もあって、乗り物酔いする人はあっという間にノックアウトです。酔い止めは必須です。
島をほとんど1周してくれて、普段見る事のできない景色を堪能できてとても有意義な1時間を過ごせました。

We were lucky enough to catch a break in the weather and see some sights which had no been accessible for 48hrs. I felt so lucky! A great flight is always subject to the weather. Worth every penny!
投稿者: Mike and Melinda, 2018/04/07The entire experience was awesome. Nice building at the helipad with merchandise and restrooms if you need them. The pre-flight instructions and guidance upon loading/unloading was great with a photo op post-flight in front of the helicopter. The pilot made us feel safe the entire time. I get motion sickness on boats and was a little worried but no issues at all (I took a ginger pill but not sure it was needed as it felt very steady). Take photos/videos on the ride but be sure to just appreciate it with your own eyes too because it’s really amazing! Don’t hesitate to go, it’s worth the extra money vs. other excursions. FYI - this was a review from a rainy/cloudy day...I can’t imagine what it must look like with a nice sunny/clear sky!
