A day trip from Kanazawa that covers two tourist spots in a single day.
Departure from Exit 2 at Kanazawa Station's Wes... 続きを読むt Exit.
Seats were assigned upon check-in.
During the ride, the tour attendant distributed maps highlighting nearby spots, famous sights at our destinations, and souvenir shops, while providing explanations. This allowed us to learn about the area during the bus transfer.
About 70% of the passengers were foreigners.
The female tour attendant primarily used English but could handle several languages.
However, the in-bus announcements were only in Japanese.
A convenient service was available using the free WiFi on the bus: an English-language tour guide linked to GPS.
It took about an hour to reach the Gokayama Aikura Gassho-zukuri Village.
The view from the viewpoint was excellent.
There weren't many tourists, so we could enjoy it at a leisurely pace.
At the Shirakawa-go Hagi-machi Gassho-zukuri Village, you can enjoy 3 hours of free sightseeing.
It was nice that we could go eat whatever we wanted for lunch.
Hida beef, Hida pork, soba noodles, udon noodles, tofu.
Everything was delicious.
Since you arrive around noon, an early lunch is recommended.
If you're a bit late, the shops might be full.
The view from the observation deck was beautiful.
The shuttle bus is recommended for getting to the observation deck.
300 yen per person.
Payment is after the ride.
Please prepare three 100-yen coins in advance.
You cannot pay with coins smaller than 100 yen.
For the return trip, walking back along the observatory promenade is recommended.
The tour fee also includes admission to the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Folk Village.
It's right next to the bus stop, so you can take your time strolling around.
Seeing that thatched-roof house for the first time was truly moving.
The food was delicious too.
It was great to see the autumn leaves as well.
I'd love to join again if I get the chance.
