I was quite anxious about my first trekking experience, but I was able to see Jomon Sugi while taking breaks along the way! The guide provided explanations at various points, and I had a fulfilling time. It was really fun! I would love to participate again if I have the opportunity!

The half-day course allowed me to make effective use of my time, and I was able to leave the island that same day.

In the moss-covered space I expected, I was energized by the various trees, including Yakusugi, which grow tall and firmly root themselves even in limited soil. I observed the coexistence of second and third-generation cedars, along with many other species intricately overlapping. The vitality that connects even natural disasters to the forest's survival was truly inspiring. The guide provided timely and appropriate explanations, making the walk enjoyable.
期待通りの苔むした空間に、少ない土でも広くしっかり根をはり高く伸びる屋久杉をはじめ様々な木々、二代・3代杉や着生して何種類もの木が複雑に重なり合いながら共存する様、自然災害をも森の存続につなげる生命力にエネルギーを十分もらいました。

I visited Iriomote Island for the first time. I was able to explore efficiently in a short amount of time. The mangroves were high due to the tide, so I couldn't see much of them. The weather was cloudy, so it was disappointing not to see the beautiful sea of Iriomote Island.
The water buffalo cart was fun, different from Taketomi Island. The sanshin and singing were quite lovely as well. Lunch was just normally delicious. Yubu Island was more enjoyable than I had imagined.
Since there was no staff accompanying the tour, I had to wander around each time to find out which boat to transfer to after getting off the ship, which bus to take, and where to line up for the water buffalo ride, constantly asking anyone who looked like a staff member.
Since there were other tours as well, I was guided to different dining locations, which I understand, but I did feel a bit of inefficiency. Overall, I was satisfied.
初めて西表島を訪問しました。短い時間で効率良く回る事が出来ました。
マングローブは満潮で水位が高くあまり見れませんでした。お天気も曇りだったので、せっかくの西表島のキレイな海が見れず残念。
水牛車は竹富島とまた違って楽しかったです。三線と歌もなかなか素敵でした。
お昼ご飯も普通に美味しかったです。由布島は想像以上に楽しかったです。
ツアーに同行する係員がいないので、船を降りてからどのボートに乗り換えるのか、バスはどれに乗るのか、水牛に乗るにはどこに並ぶのか、毎回ウロウロして係員らしき人を見つけては聞きまくりました。
他のツアーも一緒なので、食事場所も別の所に案内されたり、仕方ないとは思いますが、ちょっと効率の悪さを感じました。
全体的には満足です。

I joined to see the coconut crab. I thought it would depend on luck, but I was able to see four of them. How lucky! The excitement of walking through the jungle at night, combined with the guide's excellent guidance and the starry sky, made for an amazing experience. On the bus to and from the location, the guide shared recommendations for shops, so we were fortunate to participate on the first day. This time, I attended with my wife, but I also want to take our children next time.

運次第かな？と思っていましたが、ヤシガニを4匹も見ることが出来ました。なんてラッキー。夜のジャングルを歩くワクワク感、ガイドさんの絶妙な案内に加え満天の星空も観ることができ最高の体験でした。
行き帰りのバスでガイドさんからオススメのお店など教えてもらったので、初日に参加した私達はツイてました。
今回は妻と二人の参加でしたが、子供達も連れて行ってあげたいと思いました。

Shirakawa-go had more snow than usual this year. Due to an avalanche, we could only reach the observation deck by shuttle bus, but we gave up because of the long line waiting for the bus. It was nice to see the filming location of "Saiai" as well.

I found a tour that included Asahiyama Zoo, Blue Pond, and Shirahige Falls, and I participated in it. The zoo is compact, but the exhibits were creatively arranged and enjoyable. The Blue Pond was bluer than I expected. Shirahige Falls was beautiful, even though we viewed it from a bridge a bit away. The Yubari melon was very sweet and delicious, and I ended up eating a lot. It was a pity that the flowers in Biei were finished and the weather wasn't perfectly clear, but it was a trip that satisfied both my eyes and my stomach.
旭山動物園・青い池に白ひげの滝がついていたツアーを見つけ参加しました。
動物園はコンパクトですが、展示が工夫されていて楽しかったです。
青い池は思っていたよりも青かったです。白ひげの滝は少し離れた橋の上からでしたが
とても綺麗でした。

The guide was an excellent person who was fluent in English, Chinese, and Korean. They distributed maps and provided detailed explanations to each individual, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. The other guests were quiet and punctual, and although there was a bit of a traffic jam waiting for parking at the entrance to Shirakawa-go, we were able to get through quickly, which was good.
However, it was disappointing that while the two-hour exploration of Takayama was nice, two hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough, and I couldn't make it to the observation deck. The shuttle bus had a long line, and I tried to walk but ended up taking the wrong path. If the tour can't be extended due to the driver's working hours, I think it would be better to have an hour and a half in Takayama and two and a half hours in Shirakawa-go.
The foreign students I brought along (from Vietnam) were very moved and said they created lifelong memories, so it was worth taking them. Thank you very much.

Almost everyone was trying stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and snorkeling for the first time! The instructors were very thorough, so I was able to enjoy it to the fullest without any worries, even as a beginner! Thanks to the many wonderful photos taken with the GoPro, I'm reminiscing while looking back at the pictures 😊 It was such a fun experience!!!
At the end, they also recommended a lot of great restaurants for our last bus ride, so I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of my trip in Ishigaki! ✈️

The guide took many breaks to accommodate us and was very knowledgeable, teaching us a lot of things we didn't know, which made the experience really enjoyable up to a certain point. However, at one point, they brought up something we didn't want to discuss, and it seemed like they thought it was a joke, as they continued to mention it on the way back. When we showed signs of being upset, they said, "Oh, you're sulking," and continued the conversation with malicious questions and reactions. It was very uncomfortable, and from that moment on, I just wanted to go home quickly and couldn't enjoy the beautiful scenery. My family had a good time, so I want to express my gratitude, but I personally do not want to request this again. I think it's best not to have an attitude that belittles customers.

I participated because I wanted to see various creatures and also observe the starry sky on Ishigaki Island for the first time. The starry sky was incredibly beautiful, and lying on the sandy beach to watch it was the best! The main focus was searching for coconut crabs, and I encountered four of them, including a rare baby coconut crab! The kids also had a great time, so it was wonderful. The tour guide provided very little information throughout the tour and did not fulfill the role of a guide. She was a Chinese woman, and while her attitude was not bad, it was quite disappointing. Regarding the destinations, she only mentioned the meeting times, and that was it.
When another guest tried to engage in conversation by asking questions, the responses were completely off-target, leading to awkward laughter among everyone.
I don't intend to make comments based on nationality, but foreigners likely can't distinguish between Japanese and Chinese people, so as a Japanese person, it felt uncomfortable. For a tour in Japan, I would prefer a guide who is either Japanese or has knowledge at a similar level. Even just sharing small anecdotes that a Japanese person would naturally know (like about the Fuji Five Lakes or the differences between the Shizuoka and Yamanashi sides, or about the Aokigahara Forest) would have made a significant difference in the overall impression.

Unfortunately, the weather was uncertain, and we didn't know if we would be able to land until we set sail. However, while on the ship, watching videos and listening to the incredible stories from the guide who actually lived on Ikeshima, I found myself thinking that it would be okay if we couldn't land at all.
We were able to land safely, and although we faced some tough moments with rain and wind, it allowed me to feel just a tiny bit of the hardships experienced by those who lived there, which was quite moving.
The Gunkanjima Museum before our departure was also great. I was able to learn more about the history of Gunkanjima. I would like to visit again on a sunny day next time.

On the morning of the day, we discussed the course with the driver and added Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine instead of Shirakawa Suigen, allowing us to visit all the places we wanted to see, making for a very fulfilling day. I had a great time exploring Ishigaki Island and Taketomi Island. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so the sea wasn't the beautiful blue you see in photos, but I was still moved by the light blue waters of Kabira Bay. For lunch, I enjoyed a set meal with a variety of Okinawan dishes, including some I had never tried before.
Speaking of Taketomi Island, it's famous for its water buffalo. It was a dream of mine to ride one someday, and I was so happy to finally experience it! Orion, the water buffalo, was a relaxed and adorable creature.
After the water buffalo experience, I wasn't quite sure where to go next or what the recommended spots were, so I ended up just wandering around. I would have appreciated a pamphlet with recommended spots or courses for Taketomi Island in advance.
That said, I had a fantastic day overall and was very satisfied.

When I arrived at the meeting place, most of the participants were foreign tourists, so I thought I might have mistakenly signed up for a tour for foreigners. However, the guide was very experienced and provided explanations in Japanese, English, and Chinese, which made the sightseeing smooth.
From Sapporo, we had to travel a bit to reach Noboribetsu Onsen and Lake Toya, but we were able to move efficiently by bus and see everything, which was very satisfying. The guide also helped by taking photos at the photo points, which was a great help.
集合場所に着いた時は参加者のほとんどが外国人観光客でしたので、外国人用ツアーに間違えて申し込んだのかと思いましたが、ガイドの方も手慣れたもので日本語の他に英語、中国語でも説明されていてスムーズに観光できました。
札幌からは少し足を伸ばさなければならない登別温泉や洞爺湖とバスに乗って移動でき効率よく見て回れたのは大満足です。

I'm glad I could participate in this tour that I gave up on last year. Since I can't drive and I'm traveling alone, I think it's a great opportunity for people like me to join. The Oishi Seirinsan course was easy to walk. I managed to walk two courses (it was great). I also thought it was nice that I could listen to the audio guide on the bus. The seafood lunch was really delicious. The tour guide was cheerful... We were blessed with good weather, and I was able to achieve the main purpose of this trip, making it a satisfying experience.
昨年はあきらめたこのツアーに参加できてよかった。
一人旅で車の運転ができないので、私のような人はぜひ参加してよいと思います。

Thanks to our guide, Mr. Yamamoto, we had a wonderful time. There were many international visitors, and we were the only Japanese, but after the overall English-guided tour, we received individual guidance in Japanese, which doubled our enjoyment. We had no time to search for transfers or dining options, and we were able to leisurely visit four popular spots, which was fantastic. It felt like being in an overseas version of Kyoto, which was also enjoyable. Additionally, Mr. Yamamoto pointed out places that I had overlooked during my last visit, which was very nice.
