This was actually my second guided tour to Jomon Sugi. When I brought my parents here before, due to their age, we only made it partway along the trolley path and had to turn back, which left me with a sense of regret. So this time, I brought a senior colleague along for a revenge tour.

Since I had only experienced up to the trolley path, the trail beyond was unknown to me, and it was quite a steep mountain path (I'm a beginner at climbing). If I had slipped, it wouldn't have just been a serious injury; it felt like I could have ended up in the afterlife. Finally meeting the long-desired Jomon Sugi was an overwhelming moment.

However, as the saying goes, "Going is easy, coming back is scary." The descent was tough on my knees and thighs, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to hold my ground at times. Despite all that, I was relieved when the other members of our group returned safely without any major injuries. We were also fortunate with the weather.

One thing I definitely realized is that beginners should absolutely go with a guide. I thought the walking pace on the trolley path was quite fast, and we ended up returning around 4:30 PM. Without a guide, I think it would be hard to manage the pacing. They also teach you tips for walking on mountain paths, which is reassuring.

Since we had to pay attention to our footing, I couldn't really take in the surroundings while trekking, but at key points, the guide provided explanations and took photos. It was amusing how, by the end, our unknown group felt like a school field trip. Thank you, Watanabe-san, for guiding us! It became the best memory!

トロッコ道までしか経験ないのでその先が未知でしたが、もうすごい山道でした笑(登山未経験者)
普通に足踏み外したら大怪我どころか、あの世行ってもおかしくない道をひたすら登って何とか念願の縄文杉と対面できた時は感無量でした。
でもよく言う、行きはよいよい帰りはこわいって言いますが、帰りの下りの山道が膝と前ももに着実にダメージ蓄積するので、途中踏ん張りが効かなそうで怖かったです。
そんなこんなで、同じグループになったメンバーも、大きな怪我なく無事に帰れた時はほっとしました。天候にも恵まれたのも良かったです。

行ってみて確実に思ったのは、初心者は絶対ガイドと一緒に行った方がいいです。
トロッコ道の歩くペース結構早いと思いましたが、それでも帰りが16時半くらいにはなったので、ガイドなしだとペース配分が分からないと思います。山道を歩くコツとかも教えてくれますし、何より心強いです😁
足元を注意しながらの移動なので、あまり周りをじっくり見ながらトレッキングとはいきませんでしたが、要所要所で説明や、写真撮影も挟んでくれて、何より見ず知らずのグループが最終的に学校の遠足みたいな雰囲気になってたのが面白かったです。
ガイドしてくれた渡邉さん、引率してくれてありがとうございました！最高の思い出になりました🥰

The snorkeling and mangrove SAP tour on Balas Island was unexpectedly changed to canyoning and a mangrove canoe tour due to bad weather. The day before, I had visited the Luffy statue and Chopper statue in the city, as well as the Jinbe statue a bit further away by bus, so we focused on the remaining seven statues. I went to Sapporo for a Mrs. concert. Since my flight was in the evening the next day, I searched online to pass the time and found this tour, which I booked. The autumn leaves at Okurayama were very beautiful, and the view from the observation deck of the ski jump was fantastic. I wanted to visit the Dinosaur Museum in Fukui, so I made a reservation! It takes quite a bit of time to get there by train from Fukui Station, and since it's a popular spot with a long line even before opening, I was grateful to be taken there by bus.

I'm not particularly a huge dinosaur fan, so a one-and-a-half-hour stay was just right. The guide also introduced some recommended souvenirs exclusive to the museum, which was helpful for choosing.

The other place, Hiraizumi Hakusen Shrine, wasn't somewhere I particularly wanted to go, but since it's difficult to visit multiple places by train in Fukui, it was nice to see it as a bonus.

The Mangrove Kayak Tour was a fun and enjoyable activity, set in a beautiful mangrove environment. The duration was just right—not too long or tiring. Unfortunately, the Blue Cave part was changed to a beach snorkeling spot due to weather conditions, but that area turned out to have a rich marine ecosystem. We were lucky to see two sea turtles and beautiful fish —it was an amazing experience overall. Our tour guide, sorry I forgot her name. is incredibly warm, friendly, attentive, and full of energy.

Phanton Island really lives up to its name — it’s so unreal in its beauty. Snorkeling was fun, though the area we went to that day was just okay — we mainly saw corals, with not many fish or sea turtles around. Still, it was a wonderful and unforgettable experience overall.
