My trip to Kyushu was for the purpose of meeting acquaintances in Fukuoka and Kagoshima, and my daughter said, "At your age, this might be your last chance, so let's go to Yakushima!" This made me feel anxious, especially since I only walk 3 to 4 times a week, but it marked the beginning of our travel plans, which included a one-day ambitious course tour to Jomon Sugi, Taiko Rock, and Kumoi Gorge.

Climbing the stairs without handrails before reaching Jomon Sugi, I experienced an overwhelming sense of anxiety and despair as my legs felt like they were turning to stone! I kept worrying about when I should declare my retirement to avoid inconveniencing the other members and ruining the fun of the tour. However, with everyone's encouragement, I finally reached Jomon Sugi, and when I saw the breathtaking view from Taiko Rock, I was so moved that tears flowed. I was also able to visit Kumoi Gorge.

Even with the delayed descent time for my sake, everyone was kind and accommodating, and we were blessed with wonderful weather. I was able to connect with nature and finish the Yakushima tour with the best memories. I want to thank the fun couple, the kind pair, and our guide, who worried about me throughout the trip. I truly apologize for any inconvenience I caused. Thanks to everyone's cooperation, I had the best trip with my daughter. I'm so glad I participated. Thank you very much.

福岡と鹿児島の知人に会う目的の為の九州旅行だった私に娘が「お母さんの年齢ならLastチャンスになるだろうから屋久島へも行こう！」という一言で、週3～4回のウォーキングだけの私にとって不安でいっぱいでしたが、縄文杉・太鼓岩・雲水峡の1日よくばりコースツアーも含めた旅行計画の始まりでした。

縄文杉手前の手すりのない登り階段で、足が棒の様にかたまって動けなくなるという、生まれて始めて味わった不安と絶望感！！
他のメンバーに迷惑になって楽しいツアーを台無しにしてはいけないと思い、いつ自分からリタイア宣言をするべきか？と悩み続けて歩く道のりでした。
皆の励ましに支えられながら縄文杉にたどり着き、太鼓岩で絶景を見た時は、涙が流れる程感動しました。雲水峡にも行く事が出来ました。

私の為に遅れた下山時間にも、皆さん心良く対応してくださり、不思議な程天候にも恵まれ、大自然にふれる事が出来、最高の思い出になる屋久島ツアーを終える事が出来ました。楽しい御夫婦、優しいカップル、ずっと心配させたガイドの局さん、迷惑かけて本当に申し訳ありませんでした。皆さんの協力のお陰で娘との最高の旅が出来た事、感謝しています。

I have been to Okinawa Island several times, but this tour allowed me to visit places I had never been to before, such as Daichi Forest and Cape Hedo. I also enjoyed a delicious buffet for lunch, and I was very satisfied.

沖縄本島には、何度か行きましたが、このツアーは今まで行ったことがなかった大石林山や辺戸岬に行くことができ、お昼はおいしいビュッフェを堪能することができ、大満足でした。

I gained energy from the power spot. The walking course at Oishi Mountain Forest is just the right distance and allows you to enjoy both the sea and the mountains. For lunch, I recommend a beautiful restaurant with a view of the beach where you can relax and eat. After enjoying a leisurely lunch, we headed to the aquarium and stayed for about two hours. I was very satisfied that we could take our time and play without rushing. I plan to go again.

パワースポットで元気をもらいました。大石山林で距離的にちょうどいい散歩コースは海も山も満喫できます。お昼はビーチの見える綺麗なレストランでゆっくり食べられてオススメです。ゆっくりお昼を食べてから水族館へ向かい、2時間ぐらい滞在しました。急がらなくてのんびり遊べるのは大変満足しました。また行こうと思います。

I visited many places for the first time and was satisfied. One disappointing aspect was that there were few participants (only 14), and I was the only Japanese person. I wonder why, considering so many people are flocking to the southern region. Both Cape Hedo and the Great Stone Forest were wonderful, and the meal at Nikko Okuma was amazing. The Churaumi Aquarium was about what I expected, but I found it strange that there weren't more Japanese visitors.

始めていったところが多く、満足した。残念だったことは参加者が少なかった（１４名）こともあるが、日本人が自分一人だったこと。南部にはたくさんの人が押し寄せているのになんでだろう。辺戸岬も大石林山も素晴らしかったし、ニッコーオオクマの食事もすごかった。美ら海水族館はあんなものだろうが、どうして日本人が来ないのか不思議だった。

I was able to see the Jomon Sugi, which has been my dream for many years. The guide was very kind and reliable. When I inquired in advance about the lunch and what to bring on the day, they kindly responded, so I was able to participate in the tour without any worries.

長年の夢である縄文杉を見ることが出来ました。
ガイドさんはとても親切で頼もしかったです。
当日のお弁当、持ち物なども、予め電話で問い合わせたところ、親切に対応していただきましたので、何の不安も無く始めてのツアーに参加できました。

The guide was amazing!
I was anxious about whether I could reach Jomon Sugi on my first trekking experience, but the guide was fantastic.
We participated as a pair, and the guide carefully observed each of us, managing the pace so we could challenge ourselves without overdoing it, and we successfully reached our destination.
Along the way, the guide shared various stories, and before we knew it, we had arrived! The conversations were interesting, and the guide's wealth of knowledge helped us understand the history and nature of Yakushima well.
I am truly grateful... thank you for the enjoyable time!

初めてのトレッキングで縄文杉…たどり着けるのか不安でしたがガイドさんが最高でした。
２人で参加しましたが、それぞれの様子をしっかりと把握され、ペース配分してくださり無理なくチャレンジし無事に到達する事が出来ました。
道中いろいろなお話をしてくださってあっと言う間に到着！といった具合にお話も面白く、また知識も豊富だったので屋久島の歴史や自然のこともよく分かりました。
ほんとうに感謝…楽しい時間をありがとう！

Thank you very much for your help the other day. I was worried about the heavy rain at the time of departure, but by the time we arrived at the trailhead, the rain had stopped, and we were able to start our hike.

The 8 km trolley path was not boring at all thanks to your extensive knowledge, and while I felt a bit nervous during the quizzes (laughs), I was able to reach Jomon Sugi without feeling too much strain on the challenging mountain path.

You are knowledgeable about everything from the plants and animals of Yakushima to the myths related to its geology, which was truly impressive and surprising. At Jomon Sugi, I was able to spend a leisurely time feeling its mystery and greatness, and your explanation about the significance of the World Heritage site resonated with me.

The return journey was indeed tiring, but thanks to your guidance, my family and I were able to descend safely and with peace of mind. Thank you very much. If there is another opportunity, I would like to request your guidance again. I look forward to it.

先日はたいへんお世話になりました。
出発時の大雨、どうなることかと思いましたが、登山口に着く頃には雨は止み、スタートできました。
8kmのトロッコ道も、ユッキーさんの豊富な知識によるお話で退屈せず、時々のクイズには少し緊張しましたが(笑)、その後の厳しい山道も辛さを余り感じずに縄文杉までたどり着けました。
ユッキーさんは、屋久島の植物や動物、地質から纏わる神話まで何でも御存知で、驚きと感心の連続でした。
縄文杉では神秘さと偉大さを感じながら、ゆっくりとした時間を過ごせましたし、世界遺産の意味合いのお話は心に響きました。
帰りの道のりは流石に疲れましたが、ユッキーさんのガイドにより、家族皆安心して無事に下りてこれました。
本当にありがとうございました。またの機会があればユッキーさんに再度ガイドをお願いしたいと思います。その時はどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

I will write down what I noticed.

Negative points...
1. I participated with a foreign friend. I was relieved because it was supposed to be multilingual support, but on the day of the event, the machine was broken and could not be used. I was quite disappointed about this.
2. There was a restroom break on the way to Oishi Forest Park, but we left without picking up one passenger. (The tour guide did not count the number of people.)
3. The explanations from the tour guide were not clear, which left the guests (mostly foreigners) quite confused.

Positive points...
1. The beach in front of JAL Private Resort Okuma, where we had lunch, was very beautiful. I recommend finishing lunch early and taking a stroll on the beach.
2. Overall, the itinerary was relaxed, so I didn't get too tired and was able to fully enjoy Okinawa.

気づいた事を書きます。

マイナス点・・・
１．外人の友達と一緒に参加しました。多言語対応ということだったので安心していたのですが、当日は機械が故障していて使えませんでした。この件に関してはかなり残念でした。
２．大石林山に行く途中にトイレ休憩がありましたが、そこで乗客を（一名）を乗せず出発してしまう。（添乗員が人数を数えない）
３．添乗員さんの説明が明瞭でないので客（ほぼ外人さん）はかなり困惑してました。

プラス点・・・
１．昼食会場のJALプライベートリゾートオクマ前のビーチがとても綺麗でした。早めに昼食を終えて、ビーチ散策をお勧めします。
２．全体的にゆったりとした行程なのであまり疲れず、沖縄を満喫できました。

As someone traveling alone without renting a car, it was a very fulfilling trip.

The bus was spacious, which was great.

It was disappointing that the buffet had a limited selection.

Personally, the time spent at the aquarium was just right, and I was able to see the dolphin show.

一人旅でレンタカーも借りない身としては、非常に充実した旅になりました。

バスも広々で、良かったです。

バイキングの品数が少なかったのは残念でした。

水族館の滞在時間も個人的にはちょうど良く、イルカショーも見れました。

Yakushima, which I had always wanted to visit someday, was finally realized this year, considering my age and work situation as the perfect opportunity. It was mid-November, but the weather was warm, and luckily, we hardly encountered any rain.

The tramway path was as long as I expected, but walking while enjoying the scenery made it manageable. The steep mountain trails were not as daunting as I had anticipated, so even someone like me, who doesn't exercise much, was able to walk. The guidance and explanations from our guide were excellent, encouraging us along the way.

A significant advantage of this tour is that we could take a dedicated bus directly to the trailhead. Since we stayed in Awa, which is close to the trailhead, we were able to get some sleep right up until the last minute. A light is essential during this season.

ずっといつかは行きたいと思っていた屋久島。年齢的にも仕事の状況も今年がチャンスと思い、
決行しました。11月中旬でしたが、暖かく、ラッキーにも雨にもほとんど合わなかったです。
トロッコ道は予想通り長かったですが、景色を見ながら歩くとそれほど苦にならず、急な山道も
覚悟していたほど登りばかりではなかったので、日ごろそれほど運動していない私でも歩けました。ガイドさんの誘導、説明もとても良くて、私たちの背中を押してくれました。
このツアーは直接登山口まで専用のバスで行けることが大きなメリットです。登山口に近い安房に宿泊したので、比較的ぎりぎりまで睡眠取れました。この季節、ライトは必需品です。

We headed to Yakushima for a trekking adventure to Jomon Sugi with four men! The benefits of going with a guide include walking at a pace that considers your ability, gaining a deeper understanding and interest in Yakushima through explanations about the blooming plants and the details of the course, and the peace of mind that comes from having someone who can respond quickly in case of trouble. The miso soup we had for lunch was also very delicious. After spending the day together, I found myself wanting to return to Yakushima and request the same guide again. It was a great trip.

初の屋久島で縄文杉トレッキングに男4人で向かいました！ガイドの方と行くメリットはペース配分を考慮して歩いてくれること、咲いている植物やコースに見える細かい一つ一つについて説明を聞けることで屋久島についての理解や関心が深まること、またトラブルがあった時に早期に対応していただける安心感かと思います。お昼にいただけるお味噌汁もとても美味しかったです。1日一緒に同行していただいて帰って来る頃にはまたぜひ屋久島に来たいし同じガイドの方にお願いしたいとも思うようになっていると思います。良い旅となりました。

I participated with two friends. Besides us, there was a family, making a total of 7 people plus the guide. The guide picked us up by car at Uehara Port to match the ferry's arrival time. First, we went to Iriomote Island Monsoon (a guesthouse about 3-4 minutes by car from Uehara Port), where we filled out necessary documents and took care of restroom needs to get ready. They lent us a waterproof bag for each person, so we could put our belongings inside it during the tour. Items we didn't carry during the tour could be left at Monsoon, but we were advised to manage our valuables ourselves, so it’s better not to bring unnecessary items. I only brought a hat, sunscreen, a drink, some cash for the day, a face towel, and my smartphone (in a Ziploc bag), which was sufficient. I wore a swimsuit with a rash guard and leggings. (I didn’t bring a change of clothes and boarded the return ferry in this outfit. I swam during the tour, but by the time we returned, I was dry. However, the air conditioning on the ferry can be strong, so if you tend to get cold, it might be good to have a change of clothes or something to cover up.)

Now, let’s get started! We began with kayaking. You can choose between a two-person or a one-person kayak. It was my first time kayaking, but since we wore life jackets and the guide kindly taught us how to paddle, we were able to paddle smoothly. (Even if you can’t move forward, the guide will tow you.) Surrounded by the sparkling water, the green mangroves, the blue sky, and the blue crabs I saw for the first time, the time spent paddling slowly in this magnificent nature, which you can’t experience in the city, was very pleasant and healing!

After paddling for about 30-40 minutes, we landed and started trekking towards the waterfall basin. There were a few kayaks already tied up at the dock, but during the peak season in August, there can be around 30 kayaks. (I thought it might be easier to paddle during the off-season.) The jungle had poor footing with rocks and protruding tree roots, so we climbed while using our hands. I saw a cute little frog in a puddle. At slippery points, the guide warned us and showed us where to place our right foot and where to hold on for stability! They also explained the plants, animals, and insects we encountered while walking.

After trekking for about 30 minutes, we finally arrived at the Pinai Waterfall basin! Those who wanted could swim in the basin. I dove into the basin! It was a bit cold, but I got used to it quickly. It was refreshing and invigorating! The view of the waterfall and the sky from the basin was indescribably wonderful, and I wanted to keep looking at it.

For lunch, we had handmade rice balls, fried chicken, boiled eggs, and pickled radish. I was full. Eating in the great outdoors was very delicious. After a short lunch break, we returned the way we came, trekking then kayaking. By the way, there are no restrooms during the tour (or rather, there aren’t any; in case of emergency, you can go in nature & bring back your own paper), so be careful not to drink too much.

As we neared the end of the kayaking, I felt a bit sad thinking, “Oh, it’s almost over…” I promised the blue sky that I would definitely come back! Among the family we were with, there was a grandmother (in her 60s?) and a third-grade child, but there were no injuries or dangerous incidents, and we all enjoyed the tour until the end. The guide took photos during the tour, and I was happy that they sent them to us via LINE right after the tour ended. We wrapped up around 1:30 PM. We arrived at Ishigaki Island before 4 PM, so we could do some sightseeing from there. (We went to see the sunset at Kabira Bay.)

The half-day course was a suitable amount of exercise for me, who usually lacks physical activity, and I was able to fully enjoy nature, so I highly recommend it! Thank you very much! I had a great time! I want to participate again!

友人と3人で参加しました。
私たちの他にはご家族がいらっしゃって、合計7名＋ガイドさんでした。
フェリーの到着時間に合わせてガイドさんが上原港まで車で迎えにきてくれています。
まずは西表島モンスーン（上原港から車で3、4分の民宿）まで行き、必要書類を記入後、トイレなどを済ませ身支度を整えます。
一人につき一つ防水バックを貸して下さるので、ツアー中持ち歩くものはその中に入れます。
ツアー中持ち歩かないものはモンスーンに置いておくことができますが、貴重品などは自己管理とのことでしたので、余計なものは持っていかない方がいいと思います。
私は、帽子、日焼け止め、飲み物、その日使う程度のお金、フェイスタオル、スマホ（ジップロックに入れて）だけしか持っていきませんでしたが、十分でした。
服装は水着の上にラッシュガード＋レギンスにしました。（着替えは持って行かず、この格好のまま帰りのフェリーに乗りました。ツアー中泳ぎましたが、帰る頃には乾きました。ただフェリーの冷房がきついので寒がりの方は着替えや羽織るものがあった方がいいかもしれません。）
前置きが長くなってしまいましたが、、、いざ出発です！！
まずはカヤックからスタート。2人乗り、1人乗りから選べます。
初めてのカヤックでしたが、ライフジャケットも着用しますし、ガイドさんが丁寧に漕ぎ方も教えてくれますので、順調に漕ぎ進めることができました。（前進できなくても、ガイドさんがけん引してくれます。）
水面のキラキラとした光や、マングローブの緑、青い空、初めて見る青い色のカニ、などなど、都会では味わうことのできない雄大な自然に囲まれて、ゆっくりと漕ぎ進める時間はとても気持ちよく、癒されました！
30.40分ほど漕いだ後、上陸し、滝壺を目指してトレッキングです。船着き場には先客のカヤックが数台繋いでありましたが、8月のピークシーズンには30台程度のこともあるそうです。（オフシーズンの方がゆっくり漕げるかも？と思いました。）
ジャングルの中は岩や張り出した木の根など、足場が悪いので手を使いながら登っていきます。水たまりにはとんとんみーがいて可愛かったです。
滑りやすいポイントではガイドさんが注意喚起して、右足はココに、手はココをつかむと安定します！と教えてくれます。歩きながら動植物や昆虫の説明などもしてくれます。
30分ほどトレッキングして、ついにピナイサーラの滝壺に到着！希望者は滝壺で泳げます。私も滝壺へダーイブ！
少し冷たかったですが、すぐに慣れました。頭がスッキリして爽快でした！！滝壺から見上げた滝と空が言葉では言い表せない素晴らしさで、ずーっと見ていたいと思う、そんな景色でした。
お昼ご飯は手作りのおにぎり、唐揚げ、ゆで卵、たくあん。お腹いっぱいになりました。大自然の中で食べるご飯はとても美味しかったです。
しばしのお昼休憩のあとはトレッキング→カヤックの順で来た道を戻ります。
ちなみに、ツアー中はトイレに行けませんので（というかありません、緊急の場合は自然の中&ペーパー持ち帰り）飲みすぎ注意です。
カヤックが終わりに近づくにつれ、あ～終わっちゃうのか～と切ない気持ちに…。絶対また来るぞー！！と青い空に誓うのでした！
ご一緒したご家族の中には、おばあちゃん（60代くらい？）と小学校3年生のお子さんがいらっしゃいましたが、ケガや危ないこともなく、最後までみんなで楽しくツアーを終えることができました。
ツアー中、ガイドさんが写真を撮って下さるのですが、ツアー解散後すぐにLINEで送ってくれて嬉しかったです。
その日は13時30分過ぎに解散でした。16時前には石垣島に着くので、そこから観光もできます。（私たちは川平湾の夕焼けを見に行きました。）
半日コースは日頃運動不足の私には適度な運動量で、自然も大満喫できるので、オススメです！！

I participated in the Jomon Sugi tour in late October. I was looking forward to it because I read online that it doesn't rain much in autumn, but unfortunately, it rained. I heard that there are only about 10 sunny days out of 365, so I came to terms with it (laughs).

Even though it was raining, the beauty unique to the rain made the trekking enjoyable, and I didn't feel any discomfort from the rain at all. The guide's talk was also very entertaining, and since there were few hikers, I was able to take a lot of photos, making it a very satisfying trekking experience.

Additionally, this tour doesn't require any bus transfers, which was very appreciated by my tired body, and I'm really glad I chose this tour.

10月下旬縄文杉ツアーに参加しました。秋はそこまで雨に降られないとネットで見たので、楽しみにしていましたが、あいにくの雨でした。365日中10日しか晴れてる日がないそうで、諦めがつきました(笑)
トレッキングは雨でも、雨ならではの美しさがあって、雨の不快感とか全く感じず楽しめました。ガイドさんのトークもとても楽しく、登山者も少なかったので写真も沢山取ってくれて、大大満足のトレッキングとなりました。
また、このツアーはバスの乗り換えもないので、疲れた身体にもとても有難く、このツアーにして本当に良かったなと思っています。

I was worried about muscle pain since I went to Jomon Sugi the day before, but I was fine. The moss was a beautiful, deep green, and I was truly moved by it. The scenery with light streaming in was wonderful and fantastical. This course ends after a short walk into the mossy forest in half a day, but if the itinerary allows, I would have liked to go further to enjoy even denser moss at a leisurely pace. Since my flight was in the afternoon, I felt that a full-day course would also be appealing for next time.

前日に縄文杉まで行ったので筋肉痛が心配でしたが大丈夫でした。緑色がとても濃い綺麗な苔で感動します。光が差し込んだ風景は素晴らしく幻想的です。このコースは半日で苔むす森に少し入ったところで終了ですが旅程が可能ならもっと先まで進んで更に濃い苔を眺めてゆっくりしたかったです。飛行機が午後だったため次回は１日コースも魅力的だなと感じました。

It was mostly trekking in the rain, but I was extremely satisfied! In mid-November, it was rainy, but the climate was warm. However, during breaks, it can get cold from the rain and sweat, and since the weather is unpredictable, I recommend being well-prepared! I think a folding umbrella, waterproof clothing, trekking shoes, gloves, and a light are essential. Since the distance is considerable, if you're feeling anxious, having a trekking pole can make it a bit easier.

Of course, Jomon Sugi was great, but I was surprised by Wilson Cedar! I think women will involuntarily exclaim!

The highlight was the guide! I was able to meet a wonderful guide and truly had a fun time! Thank you so much! I will definitely visit Yakushima again, so I hope to see you then! ✨

ほぼ雨の中でのトレッキングでしたが、大大大満足でした！
11月中旬で雨でしたが、気候は暖かかったです。ただ、休憩中は雨と汗で冷えるのと、天候がわからないので、装備はしっかり整えて行くことをおすすめします！折りたたみ傘、防水性の服、トレッキングシューズ、手袋、ライトは必用だと思います。距離があるので、不安な方は、ステッキがあると少しは楽だと思います。

縄文杉はもちろんよかったですが、ウィルソン杉は、びっくりしました！女性の方は思わず声をあげると思います！

一番はガイドさんです！とっても素敵なガイドさんにお逢いできて、本当に楽しい時間を過ごすことができました！おいちゃん、ありがとうございましたm(__)m
また是非屋久島へ遊びに行きますので、その時にはまたお願いします✨

I have completely fallen in love with the Yaeyama Islands, and this is my second time participating because I couldn't forget how much fun it was. This time, I joined two friends who were visiting Iriomote Island for the first time, and we were all very satisfied, just like last time. It was an extremely hot day, and my friends were cooling off by swimming in the waterfall basin. The half-day flow of canoeing, trekking, resting at the waterfall, trekking, and canoeing was just right, leaving a pleasant level of fatigue—it's truly a great tour. I want to participate as many times as possible. They also sent the photos right away, which made me very happy. I will definitely come again!

すっかり八重山諸島にはまってしまった私は2回目の参加ですが、この楽しさが忘れられず参加しました。今回は西表島初めての友人2人と3人で参加し、前回と同様に大満足でした。この日はすごく暑い日で、友達は滝壺で泳いで涼んでいました。カヌー、トレッキング、滝壺で休憩、トレッキング、カヌーという半日の流れがちょうどよく、ほどよい疲れが残る本当にいいツアーです。何度でも参加したいと思います。お写真もすぐに送ってくれて大満足でした。また絶対きますね！

Jomon Sugi is tough, and I was quite intimidated, but it's definitely a worthwhile experience, so if you're going to Yakushima, you should definitely go. The trolley path is indeed long, but the scenery is wonderful and breathtaking, and there is a lot of beautiful moss, so I personally didn't get bored. On the contrary, I was filled with negative ions and adrenaline, and it was fun. They say Yakushima has a lot of rain, but being blessed with good weather might have contributed to my enjoyment. I thought trekking in the rain might feel long. Also, being able to reach the trailhead without any transfers from the accommodation is a merit of this tour. There are some steep paths where you have to choose which rocks to step on, but the sense of achievement when you reach Jomon Sugi is quite significant! I think if you wear comfortable trekking shoes and get plenty of sleep, it will become a fun lifelong memory!

縄文杉は辛い、大変だとかなりびびってましたが絶対に価値のある体験なので屋久島に行くなら是非とも行くべきです。確かにﾄﾛｯｺ道は長いですが
景色が素晴らしく絶景ですし、綺麗な苔がたくさんあるので私は特に飽きませんでした。むしろ、ﾏｲﾅｽｲｵﾝとｱﾄﾞﾚﾅﾘﾝがでまくりで楽しかったです。屋久島は雨がとても多いといいますがお天気に恵まれてたのも楽しめた要因かもしれません。雨のなかのﾄﾚｯｷﾝｸﾞは長く感じてしまうかもと思いました。また宿から乗り換えなしで登山口まで行けるのもこのﾂｱｰのﾒﾘｯﾄです。途中、どの岩を選んですすめばいいのかみたいな険しい道もありますが縄文杉にたどり着いた達成感はかなりのものです！
はきなれたﾄﾚｯｷﾝｸﾞｼｭｰｽﾞとたっぷりの睡眠をとれば楽しい一生の思い出になると思います！

Since it was my first trekking experience, I had concerns about my equipment and experience, but the guide was very kind and considerate with pacing and advice, allowing me to enjoy the entire trek safely. It was cold, so I was also happy to receive the miso soup service. It was a truly valuable experience, and I would love to go again.

初めてのトレッキングということで、装備や経験に不安がありましたが、ガイドさんが優しい方で、ペース配分やアドバイス等を配慮してくださり、無事に最後まで楽しむことができました。寒かったのでお味噌汁のサービスも嬉しかったです。とても、貴重な体験となりました。また行きたいです。

I'm really glad I participated. It was a tough course that covered Jomon Sugi and Unsuikyo in one day, but I think anyone who regularly exercises or enjoys walking or running can join, regardless of age.

I was able to feel the grandeur of nature and that everything in the natural world supports each other in life.

I was truly fortunate with the weather, my tour companions, and our guide.

One thing to be prepared for is the weather. If it rains, this tough course could be really challenging.

However, the sense of achievement when you reach the bottom is incredible. There’s a feeling that only those who participate can truly understand.

本当に参加して良かったです。1日で縄文杉と雲水峡を周るハードなコースでしたが、日頃から少し体を動かしてる人や歩いたり走ったりする事が好きな人なら、特に年齢に関係なく参加できると思います。
大自然の雄大さや自然の中にある物全てが支え合って生きているんだと感じる事ができました。
天候にも恵まれ、ツアーの仲間にも恵まれ、ガイドさんにも恵まれた事も本当に良かったです。
一つだけ覚悟しないといけないのは、天候だと思います。もし雨だと、このハードなコースは本当にキツイかも知れませんね。
でも、下山した時の達成感は素晴らしいものがあります。本当に参加した人にしか分からない感動がありますよ。

I went with my close colleagues from work! I was a bit anxious about the day trip to Jomon Sugi, but the path was well-maintained, and those with hiking experience might find it easy to walk. Along the way, I was glad to have asked the guide to share the history of Yakushima and the types and characteristics of the trees. I was truly overwhelmed by the nature, feeling as if I had wandered into a Studio Ghibli world. You might even encounter a Kodama! Please make sure to see Jomon Sugi with your own eyes! You'll gain energy from nature!

日帰りの縄文杉は多少不安でしたが、道も綺麗に整備されていて山登り経験者は歩きやすいと感じるかもしれません。途中途中で、屋久島の歴史や、木の種類や特性を教えて頂いたり、ガイドさんにお願いして良かったです✳︎本当に、ジブリの世界に迷い込んだのかと思うくらいの自然に圧倒されました。もしかしたらコダマにも会えるかも⁇

I went to Jomon Sugi on my first trekking experience. Since Yakushima was a place I had always wanted to visit, I applied without much thought because I really wanted to see Jomon Sugi.

At 4:30 in the morning, I was picked up by the guide and transferred by car and bus to the trailhead, where we did some warm-up exercises before starting the hike.

The first part was on a flat trolley path, so I felt a bit relieved that it wasn't uphill! Once we reached the mountain path, it was all uphill from there. There were many wooden steps. As we went up and down repeatedly, by the time we reached the Wilson stump, I was at my physical limit... I couldn't even talk or take pictures, and I regretted joining this tour so easily.

However, as I got closer to Jomon Sugi, I was encouraged by greetings from those passing by and words like "You're almost there!" and somehow made it to the destination!! I experienced a sense of achievement like never before.

Personally, the return on the trolley path was really tough. Still, I was able to reach the goal without injury, thanks to our strict yet charming guide. When we reached the finish line, we even took a commemorative photo together!

初めてのトレッキング体験で、縄文杉に行きました。
ずっと行ってみたかった屋久島だったので、どうしても縄文杉を見てみたくてあまり考えずに申し込みました。

朝の４時半。
ガイドさんに迎えに来ていただいて登山口まで車とバスを乗り継ぎ、
準備体操していざ登山スタート。

まずは平坦なトロッコ道だったので、登りじゃないんだ！と少し安心しました。
山道にたどり着くとそこからはひたすら山道です。
木造の階段が多かったです。
アップダウンを繰り返しつつ、ウィルソン株に着いたときには、体力の限界を迎えてました…
会話も出来ず、写真も撮る余裕もなく、安易にこのツアーに参加したことを後悔していました。

ただ、縄文杉が近付くにつれて、すれ違う方との挨拶やもう少しですよ！の言葉に励まされて、なんとか到達！！
今までにない達成感を味わいました。

個人的には、帰りのトロッコ道が本当にきつかったです。
それでも怪我なくゴールできたのは、厳しくもチャーミングなガイドさんのおかげです。
ゴールしたときは一緒に記念撮影もしていただきました‼︎

While it's not impossible to reach Furepe Falls on our own, thanks to this tour, we learned so many things that we would never have noticed by ourselves. We were able to ask questions until we were satisfied about the ecology of the flora and fauna and the nature of Shiretoko, as there were no other participants, and time flew by. We also had the chance to see a majestic falcon spreading its wings against the backdrop of Furepe Falls, and after the tour, we were kindly taken to a spot where we could see wild bears catching salmon (we didn't see them that day, but when we tried again the next day, we were able to see them clearly—what an emotional experience!). It was worth much more than the price we paid. Thank you very much.

フレペの滝まで自分たちで行けないことはありませんが今回のツアーをお願いしたおかげで自分たちでは決して気がつくことはできないたくさんのことを教えていただけました。
動植物の生態や知床の自然のことなどほかの参加者はいないので納得いくまで質問もできあっという間に時間が過ぎました。
普段なかなか見られないというハヤブサがフレペの滝をバックに雄大に羽を広げる姿も見ることができ、また野生の熊が鮭をとっているところが見えるスポットにツアー後にご好意で連れて行ってくださったり（当日は見られませんでしたが翌日もう一度ｔｒｙしたらしっかりみれました、感動！）料金以上の価値がありました。ありがとうございました。

The 10-hour hike was truly a courageous endeavor, but I can wholeheartedly say it was worth it. It rained all day, and there was hardly any sunshine, but our guide explained various things about Yakushima and shared stories, which made the experience enjoyable until the end. The guide's brightness and gentle consideration, along with their enthusiasm, really helped us along the way. The nature of Yakushima is also wonderful, and the pleasant feeling of being surrounded by moss and water is something you can't experience anywhere else. I want to go again, and I would definitely like to request the same guide next time.

10時間はとっても勇気のいる登山でしたが、行ってよかったと心から思えます。
その日は一日中雨が降り、日差しもほとんどない中歩きましたが、ガイドさんが屋久島について色々なことを解説やお話ししてくださったので、最後まで楽しく過ごせました。
ガイドさんの明るさと優しい気遣い、そして勢いで引っ張っていただきました。屋久島の自然も素晴らしく、苔や水に囲まれる心地よい感覚は、他では味わえません。
また行きたいので、その時も是非お願いしたいです。

The weather was nice, and the view from Taiko Rock was beautiful, which was moving.
Along the way, the guide took a lot of photos, so we ended up with many wonderful pictures.
The guide also explained about the plants, like moss, so I was able to enjoy the hike.
I think it's possible to hike without a guide, but I'm glad I signed up for the tour.

天気が良く、太鼓岩からの景色が美しく、感動しました。
道中、ガイドさんがたくさん写真を撮ってくださったので
ステキな写真がいっぱいできました。
苔などの植物の説明もしてくださったので、楽しく登山できました。
ガイドなしでも登山可能かと思いますが、ツアーに申し込んで良かったです。

I decided to participate in this tour because I thought it was the only way to see Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in a 2-night, 3-day itinerary. The day before, due to a landslide, access to the Arakawa trailhead was blocked, and it was uncertain if we could cross the river at Shiratani Unsuikyo because of rising water levels. Despite this situation, I was picked up at my accommodation at 4 AM and we set off. In the end, it was definitely the right decision to participate. Although there was a light drizzle at the beginning, it cleared up beautifully in the second half, and I was able to fully enjoy Taiko Rock, Wilson's stump, and Jomon Sugi.

The guide was also incredibly professional and wonderful. However, due to the aforementioned landslide, we had to take a route from Shiratani Unsuikyo over Tsuji Pass and then along the tramway to Jomon Sugi, returning the same way, which meant we had to traverse over 20 km of mountain trails in nearly 13 hours. I think it would be tough for those without much stamina. Normally, the route that leads to the Arakawa trailhead would allow for an earlier return by about an hour, but even so, you would need the stamina to walk for nearly 12 hours continuously.

2泊3日の旅程で縄文杉と白谷雲水峡を見るにはこれしかないと思い参加しました. 前日土砂崩れで荒川登山口方面が通行止めになってしまい, 白谷雲水峡の方も増水で沢が渡れるか行って見ないと分からない、という状況のなか早朝4時に宿まで迎えに来て貰い出発. 結果としては参加して大正解で, 序盤こそ小雨がパラつきましたが後半は綺麗に晴れて、太鼓岩もウィルソン株も縄文杉も全て満喫できました. ガイドの方もプロフェッショナリズム溢れる方で非常に素晴らしかったです

ただ前述の土砂崩れのために白谷雲水峡から辻峠を越えてトロッコ道から縄文杉に向かい, 帰りはまた峠を越えて白谷雲水峡から帰ってくるというコースになってしまい, 13時間近くかけて20km強の山道を踏破する必要があったため, 体力が無い方は厳しいと思いました. 通常の荒川登山口に抜けるコースだと1時間は早く帰れるようですが, それでも12時間近く歩き続けられる体力が必要です.

I participated with four friends. Our guide was an American woman, and she also knew someone from a local mountain gear rental shop. She was accommodating to our requests, and because of that, we moved at a pace that was quite a bit faster than usual, but it was fun being with everyone! It rained continuously, which was pretty tough, but once we got onto the mountain trail, I started to sweat quite a bit, and I got used to the rain after a while. During lunchtime, she made us coffee and cocoa, which was a nice break. She was knowledgeable about plants and shared various interesting stories. The 22 km went by in no time!

仲間4人で参加しました。ガイドさんはアメリカ人の女性で、地元の登山用具レンタルショップの方も知っている方でした。
ちょっとワガママも聞いてもらえて、その為に標準よりかなり早いスペースで進みましたが、みんなと一緒だったので楽しかったです！
ずっと雨で結構キツかったですが、山道に入るとかなり汗ばんでくるし、慣れると雨も平気になってきます。
ランチタイムはコーヒーやココアを入れてくれて、ホッと一息つけました。
植物に詳しく、色々な話をしてくれて興味深かったです。
22kmもあっという間でした！

This is my second visit to Yakushima this year. I couldn't resist visiting Shiratani Unsuikyo and Taiko Rock again after just six months.

Hiking through the green forest with a refreshing breeze and dappled sunlight was wonderful. The view from Taiko Rock, with a rainbow arcing across the sky, was truly beautiful.

Once again, I had a reliable guide accompanying me, which allowed me to enjoy the hike with peace of mind. Thank you, guide Kyoku.

I can't help but wonder how beautiful the autumn foliage and winter snow scenery will be, and I already find myself longing for Yakushima.

I look forward to visiting again soon.

今年2度目の屋久島。白谷雲水峡、太鼓岩も半年もあけずに又訪れてしまいました。
緑の森の中を爽やかな風と、木漏れ日を浴びながらの登山。虹のかかる太鼓岩からの眺めはとても素敵なものでした。
今回も、頼りになるガイドさんが同行して下さり、安心して登山を楽しむことが出来ました。ガイドの局さん、ありがとうございました。
秋の紅葉や冬の雪景色は、どんなに素敵なんだろうと、早くも屋久島を恋しく思う日々です。

I arrived at Memanbetsu Airport the day before and left Abashiri City at 6 AM the next morning for the 8:10 lecture on the Shiretoko Five Lakes, where I learned about the habitat of the brown bear. With the guide, we toured the five lakes, enjoying various explanations and amusing anecdotes. The Shiretoko Peninsula is surrounded by the sea, and the mountains of the peninsula reveal different landscapes, sometimes hidden by clouds. Depending on the season, in winter, you can walk to the islands in the frozen lakes. The guide informed us about the Kamuiwakka Falls, which has hot springs that close at the end of October, and we enjoyed a day trip to a hot spring over the mountain pass. Afterward, we returned to Abashiri, where we saw Kunashir Island from Rausu and experienced many other things. Two nights and three days are not enough, and I especially want to come back during the drift ice season.

前日に女満別空港着、翌朝網走市内朝6時出立で8：10の知床五胡レクチャーでヒグマの生活圏にお邪魔するってことを教わり、ガイドさんと五胡巡り、色々と解説と小ネタに笑わせてもらいながら、知床半島は海に挟まれ、知床半島の山々が色んな景色 雲隠れしたり現れたりで、季節によっても変わる冬なら凍った五胡の中の島へ歩いていけるとか。ガイドさんに教えてもらって10月末には閉まる温泉が流れ出るカムイワッカの滝やら峠越えた温泉で日帰り湯を楽しみ後、半島の反対側の羅臼では国後島を見て、他色々で網走に戻りました。2泊3日では足りないし、季節によって、特に流氷時期もまた来てみたい。

To celebrate my 30th birthday, I decided to see Jomon Sugi and participated with my sister on the day of my birthday. I usually don’t hike, so I was worried about my physical stamina, but I was able to enjoy it! The tour had a group of seven women, which seemed to be a larger number. I was also concerned about the 4 AM meeting time, but it was great that we just had to wait in front of our accommodation to be picked up. Although the guide on the day was different, we had a brief meeting the day before.

We went around to pick up the members and switched to a large bus at the Yakusugi Nature Museum bus stop, due to car regulations. Here, we sat in a long line while waiting for breakfast. There were several times we had to sit on the ground during breaks, and each time, the guide lent us cushion seats. At the Arakawa Trailhead, we introduced ourselves lightly and started climbing right away. Since the guide warmed up the atmosphere, it was easier to talk to others afterward.

For a while after entering, we walked on an easy path, but since we were moving at a slow pace, the guide asked us early on about our preferences. Since time was limited, if we wanted to take our time for photos, we couldn’t take more time for explanations, and if we wanted to hear a lot of stories, we needed to pick up the pace. We expressed our desire to continue at this pace while taking photos, so the guide said, “I’ll answer any questions you have, so feel free to ask anytime.” In fact, the guide actively shared information about plant names and history that we were interested in, so we were very satisfied, as we could take photos without feeling rushed.

The guide also informed us in advance about the tough sections, not just to scare us but to keep us motivated, which I think contributed to our enjoyable hiking experience. Additionally, being able to learn new things, receiving explanations about dangerous areas and how to avoid them, and relying on the guide for timekeeping allowed us to fully enjoy the experience. After walking in the rain for a long time, I was truly grateful when they prepared warm miso soup for lunch.

Moreover, our guide let each of us take turns leading the way once we were on a good path on the way back. Until it was my turn, I thought of this plan as just “hmm,” but it was the best part! Since we were just descending, the feeling of the scenery rushing towards us was enjoyable, and the view was so beautiful that I still feel moved when I think back on it. Even after returning home, when I close my eyes, I can see the sparkling forest behind my eyelids.

I am grateful to Taiyo for this experience. It was the best birthday ever!!!

30歳になる記念に縄文杉を見たいと思い立ち、誕生日当日に姉と2人で参加しました。ふだん山に登ったりすることはなく体力面の心配をしていましたが楽しむことができました！ツアーは女子7人のグループで、人数として多めだったようです。朝4時の約束も心配でしたが、宿の前に出ておくだけでピックアップしてもらえるのでありがたかったです。当日のガイドさんとは違う方でしたが前日に軽く打ち合わせがありました。
　メンバーの宿を回って屋久杉自然館のバス停で、別のツアーの方々と大型バスに乗り換えました。マイカー規制のためだそうです。ここで長い列を座って待ちながら朝ごはん。この後も休憩で地べたに座ることが何回もあり、そのたびに、ガイドさんからクッションシートをかしてもらえました。荒川登山口で軽く自己紹介して、さっそく登り始めます。ここで空気を温めてくださっていたので、そのあとも他の人に声をかけやすかったです。入り口からしばらくは歩きやすい道を行くのですが、わたしたちがゆっくりペースだったので、早い段階でわたしたちに希望をきいてくださいました。時間は限られているから、ゆっくり 写真を撮りつつ行くなら説明でさらに時間をとることはできないし、話をいっぱい聞きたいなら撮影は控えて歩くペースを上げる必要があると。私たちは写真をとりながら、このペースで行きたいと望んだので、「質問があったら何でも答えるから、いつでも言って」と言ってくれました。実際、植物の名前や歴史など、わたしたちが興味をもったことは積極的に教えてくれたので、わたしたち自身は、写真は撮れるし無理なペースで歩かずに済むし、で大満足でした。
　しんどい箇所などは予め心づもりができるよう言ってくれました。脅かすだけじゃなくて常に、ちょっと希望がもてるようにひっぱってくれたのも楽しく登山できた理由だと思います。他にも、知らなかったことを知ることができること、あぶないところは理由や回避方法を教えてくれること、タイムキーパーの役割などガイドさんに頼れるので、思いっきり楽しめると思います。長く雨の中歩いていたので、お昼に暖かいお味噌汁を用意してくれたときは本当にありがたかったです。
　さらに、わたしたちを担当してくれたガイドさんは、帰り、いい道になってから、一人ずつ全員交代で先頭を歩かせてくれました。実際自分の番が来るまでは、この計画に対して「ふーん」くらいにしか思ってなかったのですが、これが最高でした！！下るだけなので、景色がグングンくる感じが楽しくて、目の前が美しすぎて、今思い出しても感動できます。帰って来てからも目を閉じると瞼の裏にキラキラした森が思い浮かびます。
この経験をくれたタイヨウさんに感謝です。
最高の誕生日になりました！！！

I thought this was the only tour that would allow me to visit Jomon Sugi, Shiratani Unsuikyo, and Taiko Rock all in a 2-night, 3-day itinerary, so I joined. As a result, I was extremely satisfied! Personally, I was most moved by the view from Taiko Rock.

Initially, I was considering a tour that included Jomon Sugi for one day and half a day at Shiratani Unsuikyo (without Taiko Rock), but it would have been a shame to miss Taiko Rock.

There were many challenging paths. Although there was a problem with the rental trekking shoes breaking early in the tour, thanks to the support of our guide, we were able to complete the tour on time.

It requires not only physical strength but also mental focus to avoid misstepping. I wouldn’t recommend this for those who want to spend a leisurely time. It’s perfect for those who have the stamina and energy and want to experience a condensed, fulfilling time in a short period.

Lastly, I want to thank our guide, Mr. Taniyama, for his detailed support for us, who were inexperienced in mountain climbing!

2泊3日の旅程の中で、縄文杉・白谷雲水峡・太鼓岩を全てまわるにはこのツアーしかない！と思い、参加しました。
結果、大満足でした！！個人的には太鼓岩からの景色が最も感動しました。
当初、縄文杉1日＋白谷雲水峡半日（太鼓岩無し）のツアーへの参加も検討していましたが、太鼓岩を逃すのは勿体ないです。

過酷な道も多々ありました。またツアー開始序盤でレンタルしたトレッキングシューズが壊れるというトラブルがありながらも、ガイドさんのサポートのおかげで、無事に時間通りにまわりきることができました。

体力もそうですが、足元踏み外さないように集中し続けるための気力がいります。のんびりワイワイと過ごしたいという方にはお勧めしません。体力・気力があって、短い時間の中で、ぎゅっと凝縮した時間をすごしたい方にはぴったりです。

最後になりましたが、ガイドの谷山さん、登山に不慣れな私たちをこまやかにサポートしてくださってありがとうございました！
