On the way to Tsuboya Yachimun Street, I stopped by and made a reservation. I was looking forward to sightseeing, but since I have participated in craft events before, this bingata experience was perfect for my elementary school child! I think it will be a wonderful memory since we can keep the coaster after returning home. Thank you for kindly and patiently teaching us despite the sudden reservation.

壺屋やちむん通りに行く途中、ふと立ち寄って予約させていただきました。
観光も楽しみでしたが、クラフトのイベントなどに以前から参加しているため今回のびんがた体験は小学生の子供にぴったりでした！帰宅後もコースターが残せるので大変良い思い出になると思います。急な予約にも関わらず優しく丁寧に教えてくださってありがとうございました。

We challenged ourselves as a family. Once we chose our favorite weft yarn, they taught us carefully in a one-on-one setting. It's enjoyable for everyone, from adults to elementary school students. While I was impressed by the loom system, it was a one-hour session that required mental effort, as it's easy to make mistakes if you let your guard down.

親子でチャレンジしました。好きな横糸を選んだら丁寧にマンツーマンで教えてくれます。大人から小学生まで、誰でも楽しめます。機織り機のシステム？に感動しつつ、油断すると間違えてしまうため頭脳を使う1時間でした。

A little tricky to find the shop initially. Instructor was efficient & very patient with everyone. Lots of time to practice before you do your own glass which was great. Very enjoyable experience! ❤️

We were concerned about doing this….as it is described as “glass etching”. Something we have not done ever in our life, but we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised at the process. The instructor took us step by step to explain the technique of glass etching and he was to patient and calm during the whole process. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends and family. It was just steps outside of the Asakusa train Station….so convenient.

I was very happy to be able to create a Shisa as a keepsake! Since I could decide on the balance and size of the beard based on my own ideas, I feel like I was able to make an original piece that reflected my personality, rather than ending up with the exact same Shisa as my friend who went with me. Also, chatting with the person who taught us how to make the Shisa was really enjoyable; before I knew it, three hours had passed! I'm really looking forward to it arriving at my home in 2-3 months! 🌺☀️

シーサーという形に残るものを思い出として作ることができたのがとても嬉しかったです！
ヒゲのバランスや大きさを自分の考えでつけることができるため、一緒に行った友達と全く同じシーサーにはならず、個性の出たオリジナルのものが作れたなと感じています。
また、シーサーの作り方を教えてくださった方とのお喋りもとても楽しく、気づけば3時間経っているほどでした💦

We participated as an elderly couple. At first, it was difficult to gauge the strength needed, and I felt a bit nervous, but there was a woman who stayed with us to guide us through each step, so I didn't have to worry about any uncertainties. She was kind and gentle, making the experience very enjoyable. I want to cherish the finished piece.

初老夫婦で参加しました。最初は力加減が難しく、ちょっと緊張しましたが、それぞれにご指導くださる女性がつきっきりでいてくださいましたので、手順などの不安は気にしなくていいと思います。親切で優しいので、大変楽しめます。出来上がった作品は、大切に使いたいと思います。

We reserved a Ryukyu lacquerware experience course for two and went together.
It started at 1:30 PM and took about an hour to complete.
We looked at the examples and created our pieces freely.
Mr. Yoshio Tomoma, a traditional craftsman, kindly taught us the tips for cutting and pasting, which was very helpful.
I got so focused on the work that time flew by.
Above all, it was incredibly fun!
It turned out to be a wonderful and enjoyable memory.

お手本を見て、思いつくままに作成しました
伝統工芸士の後間義雄さんが型抜きと貼付けのコツを丁寧に教えてくれるので助かりました
作業に集中してしまい、時間があっという間に経っていました
何よりめっちゃ楽しかったです
大変、楽しいよい思い出作りになりました

I had been curious about it for a while, so I invited my son to join. They prepared the materials for us, provided samples, and taught us how to use the tools and the characteristics of the materials very carefully, making it enjoyable. Time flew by quickly.

以前から気になっていたので、息子を誘って参加。材料も準備してくださっているし、見本もあり、道具の使い方や材料の特性もとても丁寧に教えてくださいますので、楽しく、あっという間に時間が過ぎてしまいました。

Last time, I made a male shisa, and this time I came to make a shisa with its mouth closed. With the teacher's advice along the way, I was able to create a genuine shisa with my own hands! Also, this time I made it with my family, who are not very good at crafts, but it seemed like they had a lot of fun and made some cool shisa! The staff at the office and the shisa-making teacher were all very kind! If you ever visit Okinawa, be sure to stop by!

前回はオスのシーサーを作らせてもらい、今回は口を閉じたシーサーを作りに来ました。先生アドバイスを随時からながら自分の手で一つの本格的なシーサーを作ることができました！また、今回は工作が苦手な家族と一緒に作ったのですが、楽しくできたようで、カッコいいシーサーを作っていました！役所の方もシーサー作りの先生の方も皆とても親切でした！ぜひ沖縄に来た際には訪れてみてください！

When I first heard the explanation, I was worried about whether I could remember everything, but the instructions were given very kindly and thoroughly, making it easier than I expected, and I had a lot of fun! My elementary school daughter was also taught gently and carefully while making her own piece next to me, which allowed me to focus on my own weaving. She was very happy to choose her favorite colors and see the piece she made. At first, she said she didn't want to make anything big, but by the time we were leaving, she expressed a desire to try making something a bit larger next time.

最初説明を聞いた時は、覚えれるかなと心配になったのですが、とても丁寧に説明していただきながら進めていくので、思ったよりも簡単で、すごく楽しかったです！小学生の娘にも優しく丁寧に教えていただきながら隣で作っていたので、私も自分の織物作りに集中することができました。自分で好きな色を選んで、自分で作った織物を見て、とても喜んでいました。最初は、大きいのは作りたくないと言っていた娘ですが、帰る時には、今度はもう少し大きいものも挑戦してみたいと言っていました。

I experienced this with my elementary school daughter, and she really enjoyed it since she loves coloring. At first, I was worried about whether we could do it as beautifully as the sample, but they carefully taught us the order of coloring, and it turned out to be easier than I expected. They explained the entire process of making Bingata in detail, and it was very educational, as it was different from what I had anticipated. A few days later, we will remove the glue and see the finished product, and I'm really looking forward to it!

小学生の娘と体験させていただいたのですが、色を塗ることが好きな娘は、とても楽しんでいました。最初は、見本のように綺麗にできるか心配だったのですが、塗る順序を丁寧に教えていただき、思ったより簡単に色塗りをすることができました。紅型作りの最初から最後までの工程も詳しく教えていただき、予想していた作り方とは違い、とても勉強になりました。数日後にノリをとって完成ということで、仕上がりを見るのがとても楽しみです！

Such as traditional experience with lovely hosts. Really enjoyed the process and can away with such a great gist and memory.

I chose this to use up my expiring points, but after experiencing it, I was really glad I made that choice because it was so much fun. They taught me very carefully and also gave me tips and advice.

使用期限の切れるポイント消化のため選んだのですが体験してみるとすごく楽しくて選んで良かったなぁと思いました。
とても丁寧に教えてくださるし、コツなどもアドバイスしてくださりました。

I participated in something like this for the first time!
Since it's not affected by the weather, even though it was a rainy day, I had a lot of fun!
There is a parking lot underground, so it was great not to get wet!
Also, there is an instructor, so even if you can't do it well, they will help you, which is reassuring!
Those who are skilled won't be corrected.
Additionally, since the nails get sticky, I recommend trimming them short if possible, but I managed even with long gel nails!

天候に左右されないので、
天気が悪い日でしたが、とても楽しく参加できました！
地下に駐車場があるので、濡れずに済んだのもとても良かったです！
また、インストラクター？の方がいらっしゃるので、うまくできなくても、
直してくれるから安心です！
お上手な方は直されないです。
それから爪に粘度が入るので、可能なら短く切り揃える事をオススメしますが、
ジェルネイルをしていて、長くてもなんとかなりました！

You can choose from six different shapes of glasses, ranging from small sake cups to rock glasses, and you can also opt for colored glasses for an additional fee. There were so many pattern samples that it was hard to decide. First, I practiced with a practice glass to get accustomed to the machine and learn how to carve, and then it was time for the real thing. I was so nervous! I was so focused that time flew by, and at the end, I could take a commemorative photo holding the finished glass. The experience alone was enjoyable, but this time I opted for a plan that included a 30-minute lecture beforehand, where I learned about the history of glasswork and what Edo Kiriko is. Having gained some knowledge before creating, I felt more invested in the process. Both the lecture and the experience were taught very thoroughly, and I was extremely satisfied!

模様を入れるグラスは、おちょこからロックグラスまで６種類の形から選ぶことができて、追加代金で色付きのグラスにすることもできます。模様のサンプルもたくさんあり、迷ってしまうぼどでした。まずは練習のグラスで機械に慣れて削り方を学んでから、いざ本番。緊張しましたー！集中していたので時間もあっという間、最後は出来上がったグラスを持って記念撮影できます。体験だけでも十分楽しめますが、今回は体験前に30分の講座付きのプランにして、ガラス細工の歴史や江戸切子とは？を説明してもらいました。多少なりとも知識をつけてから製作したので、気持ちが入りました。講座も体験もとても丁寧に教えてくれ、大満足です！

It was raining on the day of arrival, so I quickly participated with my son! We had a lot of fun, and time flew by! This facility offers various experiences, so it might be a good idea to stagger your visits and try multiple activities at once. Also, since it's located on Kokusai Street, I personally think it would be great for dads and kids to experience it while moms are shopping! I definitely plan to use it again when I visit Okinawa. There's also a parking lot underground, making it convenient for getting around with a rental car.

到着日雨だったので、急遽息子と参加しました！
とても楽しくあっという間に時間が過ぎました！
この施設は他にも色々な体験ができるので、
時間をずらして、
一度に複数の体験をするのも良いかも知れません。
また、国際通りにあるので、
お母さんの買い物待ちに、
お父さんとお子さんで体験するのも個人的には良いかと思いました！
是非また、沖縄に行った際には利用しようと思います。
地下に駐車場もあるので、
レンタカーなどで移動の際にも便利です。

The instructions were explained thoroughly, so I was able to participate enjoyably. It didn't go exactly as I had hoped, but I came to appreciate the beauty of Edo Kiriko even more.

We really enjoyed the hands-on experience of creating a little plaque/coaster. It wasn't quite what I thought 'lacqer-ware' is supposed to be though, as I assumed we'd be painting more than cutting wax figures out. But it was fun nonetheless. The sensei was very helpful and has a sweet character.

Once I picked up a few tips, it became enjoyable and I got really into it. There were couples and families around. I was alone, but I had a great time without any particular concerns.

少しコツを覚えたら楽しくなってきて、熱中できた。カップルのかたや親子がいた。私は1人だったけどとくに気になることもなく楽しかった。

This was a highlight of our time in Tokyo. It was a wonderful experience and way to make a unique souvenir. The teen ages boys loved it. Our teacher and as wonderful and gave us lots of help with practicing before we started our final project.

I participated with my daughter. Before the actual production began, we were able to practice, and the time spent creating flew by; it was both focused and enjoyable. The instructor's explanations were clear, and their positive mindset made for a fun experience. If given the chance, I would love to do it again.

本番削りに入る前に練習もさせていただき、あっと言う間の作製時間は、集中できて、かつ楽しかったです。
講師の方の説明もわかりやすく、ポジティブ思考の方で楽しい時間を過ごせました。
機会がありましたら、もう一度やりたいです。

This was such an awesome experience. I learned so much and would take this again! The instructor spoke English and Japanese, was friendly, patient, and kind. I was able to choose a clear glass (I wanted a pink one but was told I could only choose clear sadly) and they had many additional options for an extra charge (also clear). They have stencils, or you are able to draw free hand on your glass. You are provided a piece of glass to practice on before you attempt your design. The setting was intimate with only 4 cutting machines (there were other studios that were larger on other floors) which I liked because it felt more personal. I didn't need glasses or an apron like I thought I might. You can take photos of your glass when you finish in a lit photo box which makes your pictures look amazing. The room was a little warm for me, but I brought a tiny hand fan with a stand and it was perfect. We were asked to remove our shoes and wear public slippers, so I recommend wearing socks.

It was my first experience with Edo Kiriko, and I was able to finish my piece thanks to the careful guidance I received. I got so focused on the work that time flew by. Although I couldn't make it as beautifully as the examples, I think it turned out to be a piece with character. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

I participated alone. I was nervous when putting the pattern into the glass, but I was kindly and carefully taught, and I was able to create it enjoyably. I had a really fun time.

1人での参加でした。模様をグラスに入れるときは、ドキドキでしたが親切丁寧に教えていただき楽しく作成する事ができ、とても楽しい時間を過ごす事ができました。

The instructor was guiding six people at once, so there was inevitably some waiting time, but the explanations were incredibly thorough and easy to understand, allowing even someone as clumsy as me to create something that looked good!

When it comes to grinding glass, it's natural to be cautious and worry about breaking it, but it seems that applying a bit more pressure actually helps achieve deeper cuts. Once you grasp the technique, you can cut to a certain extent as you wish, but be careful not to overdo it, as it can be difficult to fix mistakes if you get carried away.

I had already decided on the design I wanted to create from the beginning, so I didn't take many risks, but among the participants, there were those who thought, "Since I came all this way, I want to make something I really want to!" and challenged themselves with more complex designs (samples were provided).

In the end, we polished our finished pieces beautifully and took photos while lighting them. They sparkled and looked so beautiful; I was very satisfied.

お兄さん1人で6人いっぺんに指導するのでどうしても待ちが発生しますが、説明は凄く丁寧で分かりやすく、不器用な自分でもそれっぽく作ることができました！
ガラスを削るとなると、どうしても割れないようにと怖々削りがちになりますが、思い切って力を入れた方が深く削れて良かったみたいです。コツが掴めればある程度思ったように削れたりもしますが、調子に乗って長く削りすぎると修正がきかないのでそこだけはご注意を。。。
自分は作りたいデザインを始めから決めてたのであまりチャレンジはしなかったですが、参加者の中には「せっかく来たのだから出来そうなものより作りたいものを！」と複雑なデザインにチャレンジする方も（サンプルは用意してあります）。
最後は出来上がった作品をキレイに磨いてもらって、ライティングしながらの写真撮影。キラキラしてとてもキレイで大満足でした。

I participated with a friend.

The angles of the knife and whetstone, the angle of the knife, how to sharpen the other side, how to check for burrs, explanations of the whetstone and finishing stone, how to finish, and so on.
Hmm... it's deep! And fun.

In "The Great Passage," Aoi Miyazaki plays a chef, and there's a cool scene where she sharpens a knife at night, which inspired me to join. My friend said, "You know, there was an old tale about a kind old woman who made a noise at night while sharpening her knife, and when a traveler peeked in, she turned into a mountain witch..." (-_-;) I thought, "I'm not a mountain witch; I'm Aoi Miyazaki!" while sharpening! (laughs)

The atmosphere of the shop feels very much like a craftsman! It's cool.
I also want a knife. They provide thorough explanations, so it's educational.

I've come to realize how important tools are at this age. I wish I had experienced more of these things when I was younger. It's not too late, though!!

When I got home, I sharpened my own kitchen knife as well. I made a huge pile of carrot salad!! The edges are sharp, and the quality has improved.

I found the knife I want, so I need to work part-time and save up. The almost-retired woman is working hard! (⁎^ᴗ^⁎)

友人と一緒に参加。

包丁と研ぎ石の角度、包丁の角度、反対側の研ぎ方、バリの確認方法、
研ぎ石の説明、整え石の説明、整え方などなど。
う～～ん。深い！そして楽しい。

「舟を編む」で宮崎あおいちゃんが、板前さんの役をやっていて、
夜、包丁を研ぐシーンがかっこよくて、憧れて参加しました。
友人は「なんかさ、『旅人に優しくした老婆が夜中にシャーシャーって音を立ててるのを旅人がのぞいたら、老婆が山姥になっていて・・・・』なんて昔話あったよね~~」って。。。(-_-;)
私は山姥じゃなく、宮崎あおいちゃんなのだ！！って思って研いでおりましたよ！(笑)

お店の雰囲気はザ・職人！っていう感じ。かっこよいです。
包丁も欲しくなります。丁寧に説明もしてもらえるので、勉強になります。

道具って本当に大切とこの年頃になって実感。
若いころに、こういう体験いっぱいしておきたかったなぁと思ってます。
今からでも遅くないけれど！！

家に帰って自宅の包丁も研ぎ研ぎ。
ニンジンの千切りサラダを山盛り作りました！！
角が立っていて、グレードが一つ上がります。

欲しい包丁が見つかったので、バイトして貯めなきゃ。

I often go to Asakusa, but I didn't know I could have such a wonderful experience! I definitely want both domestic and international visitors to try it!

I was moved by the process of selecting the glass, choosing the design, and creating the final piece. Additionally, I was even more impressed that we could take photos of the glass.
I wasn't confident in the processing, but they explained everything carefully and allowed us to practice, so I was able to create something.
Thank you for this valuable experience.
I will enjoy delicious drinks from the glass we designed ourselves.

グラスを選んで、デザイン選んで、自分で加工して、と一連の流れを経て、作品が出来上がることに感動。かつ、グラスの写真撮影もできて、さらに感動。
加工は自信なかったが、丁寧に説明してくれて、練習もさせて頂いて何とか形になりました。

I participated in the rain brought by the wandering typhoon. I struggled with choosing a design due to the complexity of the many sample cuts and the difference in my own skills after practicing. I was nervous that if I carved too deeply, I might create holes. With the teacher's advice, I was able to complete it somehow. Next time, I want to challenge myself with a more complex design! (I had fun participating even on my own!)

迷走台風のもたらす雨の中参加しました。
たくさんある見本のカットの複雑さと
練習してみての自分の力量との差をどうしようかと図案選びに悩みました。
深く彫ると穴が空きそうでおっかなびっくり。
先生のアドバイスもありなんとか完成出来ました。
次回はもっと複雑な図案に挑戦してみたいです！
