The weather was cloudy again, but the waves were higher than on the way there, and for about 30 minutes to an hour after departure, the boat rocked quite a bit. The vertical and horizontal swaying alternated, which made me feel a little nauseous. The locals even said, “It’s less rocky than usual today,” and after getting used to the wind, I was able to read normally. It was a day with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees in Nagasaki, but I didn’t feel the heat while being in the breeze, which was pleasant. The three-hour boat trip turned out to be a refreshing time. I had given up on the internet, so I ended up sleeping soundly after a while. Ferries take time, but if you can secure space during busy times while traveling alone, it’s incredibly comfortable.
