I have always wanted to visit Shirakawa-go while living in Kanagawa Prefecture. By chance, I had the opportunity to stay in Kanazawa for one night, so I decided to do some sightseeing in Kanazawa on the first day. I learned that there was a day trip tour to Shirakawa-go from Kanazawa Station, and I decided to join it on the second day. Thanks to the veteran tour guide's explanations and information, I was able to hit all the key points while still enjoying my free time. The duration of the stay was just right. I hadn't thought of a round trip from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go, but it was a great decision.

神奈川県在住でいつか白川郷に行ってみたいと思っていました。たまたま金沢に1泊する機会ができたので、１日目は金沢観光し、金沢駅から白川郷日帰りツアーがあると知り、２日にこちらに参加することに決めました。ベテラン添乗員さんの説明や情報のおかげでポイントを押さえてなおかつ自由に過ごせました。ちょうどよい滞在時間でした。
金沢発着で白川郷というのはあまり思いつきませんでしたが大正解でした。

I was looking for tourist spots in Nagoya that I could visit before the night bus departure, and the timing and price were just right, so I decided to join as a solo participant. As the reviews mentioned, it was mostly a tour for international travelers, with about 40 people, and only three of us were Japanese.

In the morning, I felt a bit anxious, but everyone was very well-mannered, acted on time, and the bus was completely quiet and comfortable. The tour guide was also very polite, explaining the pamphlets one by one at each seat, which made it easy to understand.

The bus driver was a woman, and she drove safely, allowing me to spend the day with peace of mind. I'm glad I participated. I definitely want to visit Shirakawa-go in winter, so I think I'll join again.

名古屋で夜バスの時間までで行ける観光地を探してて、時間、料金と丁度良いので1人で参加してみました。口コミの通り、ほぼ海外の方達のツアーで40人程の中、日本人は3人でした
朝はちょっと不安になりましたが、皆さん本当にマナーがよく時間通り行動してバスの車内でも全然静かで快適でした
添乗員さんも、大変丁寧な対応でパンフレットを1組ずつ座席を回って説明してくれて分かりやすかったです。
バスの運転手さんも女性の方でしたが、安全運転で安心して1日が過ごせました
参加して良かったです。冬の白川郷にも是非行ってみたいので又参加してみようと思います

As the reviews mentioned, there were only foreigners and we were the only Japanese. Everyone was punctual and very well-mannered, making for a comfortable bus tour. The tour guide spoke multiple languages and came to our seats to explain the pamphlet in each language. They were very kind. In Takayama, we ran out of time since it was lunchtime.

口コミの通り、外国籍の方ばかりで日本人は私たちだけでした。みなさん、時間も守りマナーもとてもよく快適なバスツアーでした。添乗員さんは多国語を話し、パンフの説明もそれぞれの言葉で席まで来て説明してくれます。とても親切ですよ。高山は、お昼時なので時間が足らなくなりました。

I was interested, but I hesitated because I thought it would be difficult to go alone. However, I decided to sign up for the bus tour. The guide's explanations were very good. Next time, I would like to sign up for the winter Shirakawa-go tour.

I visited the illuminated Shirakawa-go. The snowy landscape was very magical and wonderful. I would like to visit in the summer next time.

It was wonderful with a charming atmosphere. The view from the observation deck was breathtaking, as if time had stopped. The food was also delicious.

風情があって最高でした。
特に展望台から見た景色は、時が止まったようで感動しました。
食事も美味しかったです。

I participated during the three-day weekend in January. Although it was the middle of winter, we were fortunate with the weather on the day, and I was very satisfied to see the beautiful scenery of Shirakawa-go covered in heavy snow. I would like to see the summer scenery next time.

1月の3連休の時期に参加しました。
冬真っ只中ですが当日は天気に恵まれ、豪雪に覆われた白川郷の景色を綺麗に見ることが出来て大変満足でした。次は夏の景色も見てみたいです。

The guide, interpreter, and driver were all nice people who provided explanations and recommendations, making for a comfortable experience. Most of the participants were inbound travelers, but everyone had good manners, and we were able to enjoy a fun day. Next time, I would like to take the same tour to Shirakawa-go in winter.

The lunch included at the cafeteria left us with a somewhat constrained schedule. During Golden Week, Shirakawa-go's facilities were extremely crowded. Given that we could only stay for just over three hours, I would have preferred free time. This way, everyone could spend their time more flexibly according to their own purposes and schedules.

Regarding meals, there are many delicious and diverse food options available throughout Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, so it would be best to allow individuals to enjoy their own food experiences. Especially for tours with many foreigners, preferences vary by cultural background, and there are also religious restrictions (for example, Indians cannot eat beef, and Muslims have halal requirements), so it's better to avoid a standardized meal.

The lack of charging ports for mobile devices on the bus was a critical issue. In today's long sightseeing bus tours, charging facilities are a must.

食堂での昼食が付いていたので中途半端に時間が拘束された。
ＧＷ最中で白川郷各施設は大混雑。その中でグロス３時間強しか滞在できないので、フリータイムにしてほしかった。その方が、各人の目的と都合に合わせて機動的に時間を過ごせる。
食事に関しては、白川郷と五箇山の随所においしそうで多様な飲食物が販売されており、各自好みの食べ歩きに任せてよいだろう。
特に外国人が多いツァーの場合は、出身国の文化ごとに食事の好みが異なる上、宗教上の制約もある（インド人は牛肉ダメ、イスラム系はハラルの制限）ので、画一的な定食はやめた方がよい。

バス内部に携帯充電用の電源がなかったのは致命的。いまどきの長時間の観光バスツァーでは、充電設備はマストである

As of April 29, 2025, I visited the newly opened café "Kachōfūgetsu." It was enjoyable to hear about the local information along the way from Kanazawa.

2025年4月29日時点で今年開店したばかりの喫茶店「花鳥風月」があり早速行きました。
金沢からの道中で道すがらの土地情報を聞けて楽しかった

This was my first time visiting Takayama and Shirakawa-go. It was a one-day course departing from and returning to Nagoya. The tour guide and the bus driver were wonderful, making the journey comfortable both ways. Just before arrival, the tour guide wrote notes on a map and explained it to each group. The driver was always smiling and had a great vibe.

As for the sightseeing spots, I can say they are "a must-visit at least once in your life." Especially in Shirakawa-go, I recommend the "interior tours" at several houses. I visited Meizenji, and it was incredibly fascinating to see the depth of history and culture!

初『高山・白川郷』でした。名古屋発着の１日コース。
添乗員さん＋バスの運転手さんがすばらしくて、行き帰りの行程も快適でした。
到着直前に、添乗員さんが地図に手書きの書き込みをつけて、一組ずつ説明して渡してくれます。運転手さんもいつも笑顔でいい感じの方。
観光地については、『人生で一度は訪れるべき』っていう感想です。特に白川郷では、数軒ある『内部見学』がオススメです。私は『明善寺』でしたが、奥深さがいろいろと見えてめちゃくちゃ興味深かったです❗️

Shirakawa-go is definitely worth a visit. While exploring the town is nice, be sure to go up to the observation deck as well. It's a shame that I only had time to buy souvenirs in Takayama.

It was a tour from Kanazawa Station to Shirakawa-go, and the tour guide was wonderful! There were more than half foreign visitors, and they guided us in both Japanese and English in a fun way.

The beautiful gassho-zukuri scenery of Shirakawa-go was truly amazing. I want to visit Shirakawa-go in winter as well!

We had a lot of free time to spend in the villages. The guide and driver were both very experienced and well organized.

We loved the lunch in an traditional restaurant in a very small village. ( Only 9 houses).

We can highly recommend this trip!

Both the bus driver and the guide were very kind and accommodating. There were just under 40 tour participants, and our family of four was the only Japanese group. Some reviews mentioned that those who might have reservations about joining a tour with foreigners (from Korea and Taiwan) should consider it carefully, but we had no such concerns at all. The passengers were well-mannered, and everyone adhered to the meeting times. The driver was very considerate towards my elderly wife, who has limited mobility, and we are very grateful for that. Thank you very much.

バスの運転手さんもガイドさんからも親切な応対をしていただきました。40名弱のツアー客で日本人は私たち家族4名でした。外国の方（韓国、台湾）との一緒のツアーに抵抗がある人は考えたほうが良いとの感想が書かれていたが全くその心配はありませんでした。
乗客のマナーもよく集合時間も全員守っていました。
足が不自由な老妻に運転手さんからは色々心遣いを戴き感謝いたしております。

As soon as we arrived, we walked to the observation deck and had a panoramic view of the town. The entire town looks like a miniature garden, just like in the pictures. Time flows slowly here. The guide was also kind, and we had a great time with some jokes mixed in. We created a wonderful memory to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.

着いてすぐに展望台まで歩き、町を一望。画像でよく見る町全体が箱庭のようです。
時間がゆっくり流れます。
ガイドさんも親切で、ジョークを交えながら楽しく過ごすことができました。
結婚40年の記念にいい思い出が一つ増えました。

I participated alone, but in Shirakawa-go, I had plenty of free time to climb the observation deck and enjoy food walking. The Hida beef steak I had for lunch was delicious. In Takayama, there were various shops, and it was very enjoyable, but I didn't have time to relax in any café.

ひとりで参加しましたが、白川郷では、展望台に登ったり、食べ歩きをしたり、十分な自由時間でした。
お昼に食べた飛騨牛ステーキが美味しかったです。
飛騨高山では、色んなお店がありとても楽しかったですが、どこかのカフェに入ってゆっくりするような時間はなかったです。

There were many foreign participants.
I was able to enjoy sightseeing in both Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, and there was plenty of time for sightseeing at both places. The food was also delicious.
I was quite worried about getting car sick, but the road we took in winter (the one that is not White Road) was not winding, so I didn't get sick.

外国人参加者の方が多かったです。
白川郷も五箇山も観光でき、どちらも観光時間がたっぷりあったので満喫できました。ご飯もおいしかったです。
かなり車酔いがひどいので心配でしたが、冬に通る道（ホワイトロードではない方）はクネクネしていなかったので酔いませんでした。

I was moved by the attentive service, including support for people with disabilities. I am grateful for how flexibly you responded to my sudden requests. The conversations during the journey are also a wonderful memory of the trip. The Gassho-zukuri in Gokayama was even better than I expected.

障害者の対応も含めて丁寧な対応で感動しました。こちらの急なリクエストにも臨機応変に対応していただき感謝申し上げます。道中のお話も旅のいい思い出です　五箇山の合掌造りも予想以上に良かったです。

I felt the charm of Japan's good old hometown. I participated in the tour in March, but I think the scenery in autumn and winter will be different and enjoyable, making it a place that should be visited at least once in a lifetime.

日本の古き良きふるさとを感じました。ツァーに参加したのは3月でしたが、秋や冬はまた違った景色が楽しめそうで、生涯一度は訪問すべき場所だと思います。

I was able to leisurely explore Shirakawa-go and Takayama. I received recommendations for places to visit, and since I wanted to avoid crowds, I went to those locations. It was such a luxurious experience; I almost had the places to myself and could take my time to enjoy them. Thank you! ♪

The bus runs through the amazing snow towards Shirakawa-go. I had a slight anxiety in my heart about whether we could return.

However, thanks to the wonderful driver's skills and the enjoyable guide's commentary, I was able to fully appreciate the snowy Shirakawa-go and the streets of Takayama.

I think of the efforts of those who are dedicated to preserving Shirakawa-go.

I felt grateful to have participated in this tour and to have had such a unique experience.

驚くような雪の中バスは白川郷へと走っていきます。心の中では戻ってこれるのかという一抹の不安もありました。

ところが、素晴らしいドライバーさんの運転と楽しいガイドさんの案内で雪の白川郷と高山の街並みを堪能させていただきました。

あの白川郷を大切に守っている方々のご苦労を思います。

なかなかできない体験をすることができ、このツアーに参加して良かったと思いました。

We gathered at Kanazawa Station at 8 AM, and the bus was mostly filled with foreign tourists. It was an older sightseeing bus, and there was no restroom.

Since we arrived early, there weren't many people around, and the snowy scenery was charming. After a while, it became crowded with foreign tourists, which surprised me.

As soon as we arrived, we had free time. I hurriedly walked to the farthest point while taking photos. I couldn't stroll around because of the time constraints, so personally, I wished I had a bit more time.

For lunch, we had a healthy course meal with plenty of wild vegetables at a restaurant with the tour group. The portion was small, but it was just right for me. The grilled meat on the magnolia leaf was very delicious.

When we arrived at the second location, Gokayama, the snow started to fall heavily. There were hardly any people here, and it was quiet and picturesque. I preferred this place more.

Finally, the cheerful smile of the bus guide, who provided explanations in both English and Japanese with some humor, was great. I was satisfied to be able to visit the snowy Shirakawa-go and Gokayama!

外国の方で埋まってました。ちょっと古めの観光バス、トイレはありません。

現地に早く着いたので、あまり人もおらず雪景色が風情があった。少し経つと外国の観光客で溢れかえっていて、びっくりした。

着いてすぐフリータイム。急ぎ足であちこち写真撮りながら一番端っこまで歩く。時間がないのでブラブラはできず、個人的にはもう少し時間欲しかったかな。

ランチはツアーの人とレストランでヘルシーな山菜多めのコース料理。量は少なめだけど、私にはちょうど良い。朴葉焼のお肉がとてもおいしかった。

二箇所目の五箇山に着くと雪が本降り。こちらにはほとんど人がいなく静かで趣深い。こちらの方が好みであった。

最後にバスガイドさんの明るい笑顔で英語と日本語での笑いも交えながらの説明、良かったです。雪の白川郷、五箇山に行く事が出来て満足です！

This tour efficiently takes you through routes that are quite difficult to navigate on your own by bus! We stopped at roadside stations and enjoyed a delicious Hida beef wrapped in bamboo leaf miso grilled lunch in Shirakawa-go without any waiting, making it a fantastic experience. The guide was excellent, providing necessary explanations and maps in advance, as well as giving commentary along the way!

個人ではなかなか難しいルートをバスで無駄なくまわってくれるツアーです！道の駅へ寄ったり白川郷内での飛騨牛の苞葉味噌焼きランチなど並ぶこともなく効率よく楽しめて最高でした。
バスの中で必要な説明や地図を事前に配ったり、道路沿いの説明をしてくれたり、段取りの素晴らしいガイドさんでした！

Shirakawa-go had more snow than usual this year. Due to an avalanche, we could only reach the observation deck by shuttle bus, but we gave up because of the long line waiting for the bus. It was nice to see the filming location of "Saiai" as well.

例年以上の大雪の白川郷でした。
雪崩？のために展望台へ徒歩では行けず、シャトルバスのみでしたが、バス待ちの長蛇の列で諦めました。「最愛」のロケ地も見れて良かったです。

The guide was an excellent person who was fluent in English, Chinese, and Korean. They distributed maps and provided detailed explanations to each individual, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. The other guests were quiet and punctual, and although there was a bit of a traffic jam waiting for parking at the entrance to Shirakawa-go, we were able to get through quickly, which was good.

However, it was disappointing that while the two-hour exploration of Takayama was nice, two hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough, and I couldn't make it to the observation deck. The shuttle bus had a long line, and I tried to walk but ended up taking the wrong path. If the tour can't be extended due to the driver's working hours, I think it would be better to have an hour and a half in Takayama and two and a half hours in Shirakawa-go.

The foreign students I brought along (from Vietnam) were very moved and said they created lifelong memories, so it was worth taking them. Thank you very much.

ガイドさんが、英語、中国語、韓国語に堪能な優秀な方で、地図を配り一人一人に丁寧に説明してくれて、とても親切だったのが
凄く良かった
同乗のお客さんも静かで時間厳守してくださり、白川郷の入り口では少し、駐車場待ちで渋滞していたがすぐに抜けられて良かった

ただ、残念だったのは高山２時間散策は良かったが、白川郷、２時間は足りなかくて、展望台まで行けなかったのが残念だった。
シャトルバスは長蛇の列で、歩こうとしたが、道を間違えてしまった。運転手さんの労働時間とかの関係で、ツアーを長く出来ないのであれば、高山１時間半、白川郷２時間半でもいいのではないか
と思います

A few days ago, I was worried about the tour due to heavy snowfall, but I felt relieved when I received a confirmation SMS the day before. The driver was well-trained and provided a lot of helpful information. Unlike group tours, I had the freedom to choose where to go and the timing, which was great.

数日前まで大雪とのことだったので催行が心配でしたが、前日確認のSMSが来て安心でした。ドライバーの方はきちんと研修を受けているそうで、いろいろな情報を教えていただき助かりました。団体ツアーと違い、行きたいところや時間など自由になり、とても良かったです。

Initially, I had planned to take a highway bus, but there were no available seats, so I used this service for the first time. They picked me up at the station and dropped me off right in front of the hotel, which made it very convenient as I didn't have to worry about my luggage. I hadn't done much research beforehand, but I was guided to recommended places and shops, allowing me to experience locations I wouldn't have visited on my own, which was a lot of fun. The female driver was very chatty and even took photos for me, making for an enjoyable time.

当初高速バスの予定でしたが空席がなくこちらを初めて利用しました。
駅に迎えに来てもらい、ホテルの目の前まで送ってもらえるので、荷物を預ける必要がなく、とても楽でした。また、事前にあまり調べていませんでしたが、おすすめの場所・お店をガイドしてもらい、自分たちだけだと行かない場所や経験ができて、とても楽しかったです。
女性ドライバーさんでしたが、たくさんお話をしてくださり、写真も撮ってもらえて、楽しい時間でした。

Both the guide and the driver were kind.
Gokayama Ainokura had almost no other tourists besides us, allowing for a quiet and very moving sightseeing experience. I highly recommend visiting.
The shuttle bus to the Shirakawa-go observation deck was suspended in the morning due to an avalanche on the pathway. The guide provided detailed information on when to take the shuttle bus to ensure we could reach the observation deck in time for the return bus, which allowed us to tour efficiently.
In February, Shirakawa-go is very crowded, and those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal inside may not have enough time to visit the observation deck. I bought food that I could eat while waiting in line for the shuttle bus.
It was also nice that the bus seats were assigned. On tours without assigned seating, the auxiliary seats are often overflowing with foreign tourists, making it quite cramped.

ガイドさんドライバーさん共に優しかったです。
五箇山相倉は我々以外の観光客が殆どおらず、静かに観光できてとても感動的でした。是非行ってみて頂きたいです。
白川郷の展望台に向かうシャトルバスの通路が午前中に雪崩が起き運行中止となり、再開時刻や帰りのバスに間に合うように展望台へ向かうには何時までのシャトルバスに乗ったら良いか等、細かい情報をガイドさんがお知らせしてくれたので効率良く観光できました。
2月白川郷は大変混んでおりゆっくり店内で食事したい方は展望台に行く時間は足りない可能性があります。私は食べ歩きできる物を買って食べながらシャトルバスの列に並びました。
バスの席が決まってるのも良かっです。決まってないツアーのバスだと補助席まで外国人観光客で溢れかえっててかなりキツイです。

I participated in a tour of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama. I was a bit anxious about the bus ride, which took over an hour one way, but thanks to our guide's interesting stories, the well-organized itinerary, souvenir information, and the driver's safe driving, I was able to enjoy an efficient and worry-free visit. This time, we experienced heavy snowfall and deep snow, but I would love to join again in a different season to see the changing expressions throughout the year. It was a wonderful tour. 白川郷、五箇山のツアーに参加しました。片道1時間超のバス移動は少し不安でしたが、ガイドさんの興味深いお話しと見学コースの組み立て方やお土産情報、ドライバーさんの安全運転のおかげで安心して効率的な見学を楽しむことができました。今回は大雪で深い積雪の中の見学でしたが、別の季節もぜひまた参加して、四季折々の表情を見てみたいです。素晴らしいツアーでした。ありがとうございました。
