This was my first time participating in the tour, and I was amazed by the cleanliness of the facilities and the abundance of equipment! It was also very interesting to be able to walk around the training facilities. I got to see the simulator in action and observe the process of changing the seats in the cabin!

The explanations provided by the cabin attendant who guided us were clear and easy to understand.

They not only accommodated my requests but also efficiently guided me to recommended spots, allowing me to visit many attractions in just four hours. Since I could leave the time management to them, I was able to enjoy sightseeing without worrying about my flight schedule. This time, I was attended by a female driver, Ms. S, who was full of interesting topics, making the sightseeing experience enjoyable. This was my second time participating, but I was disappointed that I couldn't see much of the training in each area, possibly because it coincided with lunchtime. During my first visit, I was able to see all the training sessions... However, I do recommend the facility tour itself. The locker area and the tour check-in were particularly good.

In addition to the Snow Festival, I was hoping to take my son to Asahiyama Zoo, so I looked for a bus tour departing from Sapporo. We took a hotel shuttle to Euglena Port and then a high-speed ferry to Iriomote Island in 45 minutes. The mangrove cruise was blessed with good weather, allowing us to enjoy the magnificent natural scenery while listening to explanations about the mangroves and interesting stories as we observed them up close. We even had a welcoming sighting of a crested serpent eagle! After traveling by bus, we went to Yubu Island, where the water buffalo cart ride was a timeless experience, and the flowers on Yubu Island were very beautiful. We then took a bus to Taketomi Island, where we rented bicycles to explore the town and see the traditional Ryukyu architectural style. At the Nishi Sanchō, during low tide, we were able to see many tropical fish, giant clams, and sea cucumbers. It was a fulfilling and great value tour.

It was my first time participating alone, but I was given very detailed information about the sightseeing content, meeting time, and souvenirs, so I was able to enjoy the tour without any worries. Originally, I planned to participate in an event, but since I happened to get a ticket for the last flight the next day, I decided to include a bus tour as well. A tour where I don't have to drive is relaxing, and I can enjoy unlimited delicious beer! I thought it would have been even better if they had offered beer during lunch, but overall, I was satisfied.

The travel time was quicker than I expected, and I was able to stop by the Ice Festival and Bear Ranch, which weren't on the itinerary, making it a fun experience. If you're looking for a light sightseeing option, this seems more than sufficient.

Now, to the main point. I am 59 years old and will soon be 60. I felt uncomfortable because it seemed that the guide was wary of my age, thinking I might retire or cause trouble. Although I may not look it, I have backpacked through 61 countries and have even climbed to the top of Mount Fuji. I always participate in hiking and mountain climbing abroad. Early in the tour, the guide mentioned to the group as a whole, "If I feel this person cannot make it to the top, they will retire." I was told this directly, and others felt the same way. I thought it would have been better if the guide had just told me directly if they thought I couldn't climb. I know that in climbing, the slower people go ahead, but it felt like they were judging me solely based on my age, creating an atmosphere that suggested I would be slow and unable to keep up, which really brought my spirits down before we even started climbing.

2. When I was not around, another woman asked the guide from behind, "Is there an age limit for this tour?" and the guide mistakenly thought I had asked and replied, "Just one more year." Everyone heard this conversation. Is it appropriate for a guide to disclose personal information in front of other participants? Is it acceptable to share personal information on the Jomon Sugi tour? The guide also made comments to an older man, saying, "You're born in the year of the horse, right?" and "I share the same zodiac." (It seemed like they just wanted to appear younger by mentioning their age.) I felt that personal information was not being handled properly here. It is common sense in society that personal information should not be disclosed. Furthermore, after returning home, I confirmed that the age restrictions for this tour were only two points (10 years and older, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian), and there was no mention anywhere that those over 60 were not allowed. This was the worst tour, and I really wished they had declined my participation from the start due to concerns about my age. I would have preferred to join the group with the other older guide. Since the guide mentioned it, please make sure to clearly state the age limit for this tour as 60 years old in the future.

I believe that guiding members to their destination within a time limit is a job that comes with pressure. However, it is disappointing to see such worries reflected in the guide's demeanor. ②私のいないところでガイドさんの後ろから他の女性が「このツアー年齢制限あるんですか？」と聞いたところ私がたずねたと勘違いして「あと1歳」といわれました。みなさんこの会話を聞いていらっしゃいました。個人情報を他の参加者の前で勝手に公開するのはガイドとしていかがなものでしょうか？縄文杉のツアーでは個人情報は出しても大丈夫なのでしょうか？他の年配の男の人にも「〇〇さんは午年ですね？」「私も同じ干支なんですよ」と若いアピールをされていました。（自分の年齢を言って若いと言われたいだけですよね）こちらでは個人情報の管理は守られいないということを感じました。個人情報は絶対に言ってはいけないというのは社会の常識です。更に帰宅後再確認しましたがこのツアーの年齢制限は2項目（・10歳以上・18歳以下は保護者同伴）のみで60歳以上不可ということはどこにも明記されていませんでした。最悪のツアーだったので、本当に最初から私のことを年齢が心配だからと言ってツアーに入るのを断っていただきたかった。私はもう一つのおじいさんのガイドさんのグループに入れてもらいたかったです。ガイドさんが言われたので今後、必ずこのツアーの制限年齢を60歳までと明記してくださいね。
時間の制限のある中メンバーを目的地に案内して戻ってこなくてはいけないガイドはプレッシャーがかかる仕事だと思います。ただ、こちらにそういう心配が見えてしまうのは残念です。本当に本当に10時間ずっと不愉快でした。なぜならほとんどの参加者は初めは「楽しみ」「わくわく」感をもって参加しているからです。そのことを今一度認識していただきたいと思います。

There are quite a few paths without handrails and slippery areas, but thanks to the tour guide's constant reminders, I was able to concentrate on trekking with peace of mind. There were only three Japanese participants, including us, on a fully booked bus. Despite that, our guide skillfully used both Japanese and Chinese to kindly and thoroughly explain the sights we saw from the bus, as well as recommend souvenirs and food, making it a very enjoyable tour.

Traveling around Noboribetsu, Lake Toya, Showa Shinzan, and Lake Shikotsu without a rental car can be quite challenging. However, this tour allowed us to reach each destination while receiving various guidance during the bus ride, and we had a reasonable amount of free time at each location, so it wasn't the typical rushed tour. It might have been a coincidence, but the fact that participants from overseas also managed to keep to the schedule without being late was likely due to the free time that was allocated. I'm grateful to everyone who participated together.

バス満席の中、日本人の参加者は私たちを含め3名だけ。そんな中ガイドさんは、日本語・中国語を上手に使って車窓から見えるものや、お勧めの土産や食べ物など親切にそして丁寧に説明してくれ、とても楽しいツアーでした。
登別、洞爺湖、昭和新山、支笏湖をレンタカーなしでめぐるのはとても大変です。でも、このツアーはバスに乗って車中いろいろなガイドをしてもらっているうちにそれぞれの目的地に着き、それぞれの場所ではそれなりに自由時間もあるので、よくありがちな急ぎ足のツアーではありませんでした。たまたまなのかもしれませんが、海外からの参加者の方も集合時間にほぼ遅れることなく行程が進めたのも自由時間が確保出来た一因なのかもしれません。一緒に参加された方々にも感謝です。

The bus company mentioned that due to the marathon, there might be delays with the ferry to Taketomi Island, but they coordinated with the ferry company regarding which ferry to take depending on whether we arrived on time or not, so we could participate in the tour without any worries. The bus guide was also great at singing and made the tour enjoyable with humor. It was wonderful!

We really enjoyed the mangrove cruise and the water buffalo cart ride, as there were plenty of explanations provided, making it a great experience for us first-time visitors.
