The tour of Ishigaki Island was very satisfying. The pickup was on time, and the tour guidance was truly thorough. However, the water buffalo tour on Taketomi Island was quite disappointing. When I communicated that we wanted to take the bus to the ferry terminal since everyone was gathered, the staff member silently waved their right hand as if to say "hurry up and get on." When we arrived at the ferry terminal, we were dropped off at a distant location and had to run through heavy rain to reach the terminal. I was really looking forward to it, so it was quite a disappointing tour.

フェリー乗り場に着いたと思ったら、場所の離れたところで降ろされ大雨の中走ってフェリー乗り場に移動しなくてはない始末。
楽しみにしていただけにかなり残念なツアーでした。

In a word, I highly recommend this fun-filled tour.

It was my first time seeing mangroves, and my wife and I leisurely paddled along in a canoe. The guide was fantastic and took a lot of photos for us. It rained a bit, just a light drizzle, but it added to the nice atmosphere.

For lunch, we went to a local restaurant at our own expense (as mentioned in the tour description). I'm glad I brought cash.

In the afternoon, we took a boat to Balas Island for snorkeling. Since we wore life jackets, we didn't sink. The water was clear, there were corals, and we even saw fish from the movie Finding Nemo. The guide took many photos during this time as well. I borrowed prescription goggles for snorkeling, which allowed me to see the fish clearly. I also rented a wetsuit, which helped keep me warm when returning to the boat after snorkeling.

Overall, the guide was very enthusiastic and provided great guidance while taking photos, making the experience really enjoyable.

The trekking experience was enjoyable as expected, even in light rain. Although there was no view from Taiko Rock, I was satisfied since the moss-covered forest was the main attraction. The rental of shoes and raincoats was very helpful.

Changing the reservation due to schedule changes was smooth, but the response to emails via Veltra was slow, and the phone calls were fast-paced, making it difficult to understand the follow-up calls from Veltra. Additionally, when using listings from other sites, I found some items that were not available. The rental shoes and tour guides seem to be outsourced, and the correction of the size I communicated over the phone was not conveyed, which made things less smooth. I also wanted to confirm the time for the next day, but the response was "We don't know" and "I haven't heard." On the day of the tour, there was a pickup oversight with the lunch, which required us to turn back. The tour guide even asked, "When did you make your reservation?" despite having booked well in advance, which highlighted a lack of preparation.

The front windshield of the shuttle vehicle was so foggy that it was hard to see, which made me feel it was dangerous as they drove slowly and wiped it down. I was surprised by the difference compared to another tour company I used the day before, especially since this company primarily deals with rental cars.

I understand that many young guides have left due to COVID-19 and that Golden Week was busy, among other circumstances. The rental staff were polite, and the tour guide was kind and doing their best, but overall, it felt like a somewhat frustrating tour.

レンタルシューズ.ツアーガイド等は委託なのでしょうが、電話で伝えたサイズの訂正が伝わっておらずスムーズではありませんでした。次の日の時間等確認したい事も「こちらでは分かりません」「聞いてません」との回答、当日のお弁当はピックアップ忘れで引き返したり、
ツアーガイドさんも昨日連絡があって貴方たちはいつ予約したの？と聞かれたり…ずいぶん前から予約をしてるのに準備不足が目立ち、なんだかなぁと思いました。
送迎の車のフロントガラスが全く見えない位に曇っていたので、ゆっくり運転したり拭いたりしていましたが危ないなぁと感じました。レンタカーが主体の会社なのにと思い、前日利用した他のツアー会社との差があり過ぎてびっくりしました。

コロナで若いガイドさんが沢山辞められて大変な事、ゴールデンウィークが忙しかった事等、色々と事情もおありでしょう。レンタルの方は物腰も柔らかく、ツアーガイドさんも親切で頑張ってらっしゃいましたが、なんとなくモヤモヤとするツアーでした。

The Miyako Blue sea was so beautiful that I can't put it into words. I was able to swim with sea turtles in such an incredibly stunning ocean!! The drone footage also became a wonderful memory of our family trip. The staff were kind and fun, making it easy for me to relax and participate, even though I can't swim. Trekking to Jomon Sugi with my husband, who is celebrating his 60th birthday, and my wife, who is close to 60, was blessed by the rain god of Yakushima, and it was almost entirely rainy.

I am truly grateful to our guide, K, who adjusted the pace to accommodate our lack of stamina. He kindly encouraged us multiple times, saying, "Our goal today is for everyone to safely descend!" He also quickly attended to my husband when he felt discomfort in his knee, helped him up when he fell, and kept our spirits high with engaging conversation. We were really well taken care of.

When we arrived at Jomon Sugi, the rain stopped, and light shone through, creating a very magical atmosphere. I believe we were infused with energy for the return journey from Jomon Sugi. Thanks to K and the kind-hearted group, we successfully conquered the Jomon Sugi challenge.

We were able to see turtles right away, and the children were very happy. It was great that they took us to a fishing spot as well. The guide was kind to the kids, and they quickly got comfortable, allowing us to enjoy the tour. After the tour, it was nice that they recommended some shops to us.

I visited Yakushima for the first time during Golden Week and joined a tour to see Jomon Sugi. I was worried about the long trekking time, but I was moved to reach Jomon Sugi safely! In the morning, I made a mistake by following an unfamiliar old man who resembled our guide, which caused me to get separated from my team at the starting point and worried the other tour participants. Fortunately, I was able to reunite with the group at the end of the tramway, and from then on, the guides warmly said, "I'm glad you made it back safely" every time we passed each other. It was a rare experience and became a wonderful memory!

ゴールデンウィークに初めて屋久島を訪れ、縄文杉を見たくてツアーに参加しました。長いトレッキング時間を心配していましたが、無事に縄文杉まで登れて感動しました！朝は早とちりで担当のガイドさんに似た知らないおじさんについていってしまうというミスをおかし、スタート地点からチームとはぐれて進んでしまい、ツアー参加者の皆さんを心配させる騒動を起こしてしまいました(^^;;トロッコ道の終点で無事にメンバーと合流でき、その後はガイドの皆さんに「無事合流できて良かったね」とすれ違うたび温かい言葉をかけていただけました。なかなかない経験をすることができ、とても良い思い出になりました！

The advance communication was thorough, and I felt that my concerns and uncertainties were addressed with care. The day before and the day before that, the tours were canceled due to bad weather, so I was worried about the weather and the condition of the mountain paths. The trekking experience, where we changed our shoes, allowed us to feel the river's water temperature on our skin, bringing back the joy of childhood. I was advised not to bring my smartphone, so I left it behind. Instead, they took photos at key moments and sent them to me via LINE. Such great service! Even when we were quite behind during the canoeing with kids, they kindly chatted with us to lighten the mood, creating great memories. Everyone was cheerful and pleasant. スマホは持っていかないようアドバイスがあったので置いていきました。変わりに要所要所で写真を撮ってくれてラインで送ってくれました。すごいサービス精神！海外だったら完璧に買わなきゃいけないところです。

子連れカヌーでかなり出遅れていたときも世間話をして和ませてくれたり親切にしてもらい、いい思い出になりました。皆さん明るくて感じよかったです。

I was picked up at Yakushima Airport and went straight to Shiratani Unsuikyo. Our guide was the veteran Mr. Yanagida. He is said to be over 70 years old, but he was very youthful and much more agile than us! He was also a guide with a wealth of knowledge.

Since we had planned to trek to Jomon Sugi the next day, we gave up on Taiko Rock and opted for a trek to the moss-covered forest. Thanks to the rain the day before, the trees and moss sparkled with water droplets, shining in the sunlight—it was truly beautiful. The guide shared stories about the 600 types of moss, numerous trees and flowers, the sounds of birds, fallen trees, granite, and feldspar, and he was really knowledgeable!

Among all the stories, the one about how ancient people coexisted with the gods of the mountains, forests, and trees was fascinating, as it allowed us to feel the presence of humans in nature. Fortunately, we also got to see a mother monkey holding her newborn baby.

Thanks to our guide, we were able to fully enjoy the charm of Shiratani Unsuikyo, including the highlights, timing for breaks, snack time, and photo opportunities. I truly appreciate it. The only regret is that we couldn't go to Taiko Rock. I would like to visit again.

翌日に縄文杉へのトレッキングを予定していたので、太鼓岩はあきらめて、苔むす森までのトレッキング。
前日の雨のおかげで、木々や苔が水滴でキラキラ、木漏れ日に輝いて本当にきれいでした。
600種類はあると言われる苔や、たくさんの樹々や花々の話、鳥の鳴き声、倒木更新や花崗岩・正長石の話等々、ガイドさんは本当に知識が豊富！

中でも、山や森や樹々に神様を感じながら共生していた昔の人たちの生活の話は、大自然の中に人の姿を感じることができ、興味が尽きませんでした。
幸せなことに、生まれたばかりの子ザルを抱いた母猿に逢うこともできました。
見どころはもちろん、休憩のタイミングや、お菓子の時間、写真の撮影まで、ガイドさん無くては、白谷雲水峡の魅力をあれほど堪能できなかったと思います。
本当にありがとうございました。

Since I wanted to explore the islands on Ishigaki Island for the first time, I chose a hotel near the terminal. Iriomote Island is full of nature, including mangroves. On the way to Yubu Island, we suddenly encountered a downpour! The water buffalo was lively, though! I had to buy a raincoat to get to the restaurant, and as expected, the downpour stopped right after, and the return trip on the water buffalo cart was sunny (laughs).

Lunch was a standard bento, and nothing particularly memorable stood out. The water buffalo cart on Taketomi Island had great weather, and the water buffalo, Manei-kun, was lively too! We toured the island while listening to the brother's sanshin song, even though walking was clearly faster. It was a cycle of walking a few steps and stopping in the shade. We took a sightseeing bus to the beach with star sand and managed to find and pick up a little bit of star sand. It was nice that there was someone from the same hotel among the tour participants.

I wasn't quite sure about the bus tour details until I participated, so I'll outline the route I took. First, we spent about 15 minutes searching for star sand at Kaiji Beach. The guide will show you how to look for it. If you want to take some home, it's a good idea to bring a ziplock bag for the star sand. We didn't stop at Kondoi Beach, so if you want to go there, consider the rental bicycle plan. After that, we took a stroll down the streets of traditional houses on Taketomi Island. Along the way, we enjoyed ice pops from a local shop and took photos on the street.

This tour involves checking in in the morning to receive tickets for the boat and activities, then gathering at the designated time to have your tickets collected before moving on to the experiences. You'll travel on the same boat as customers from other tour companies.

Seating on the boat is first-come, first-served, so if you want a window seat or to sit with your family, make sure to arrive at the time indicated for boarding. Canoeing in the mangroves was very pleasant and allowed me to experience something out of the ordinary; it was fun. The day before, we were unable to land on Barasu Island due to rough seas, so we quickly switched to a tour of Yubu Island, which was also enjoyable as we leisurely explored while riding water buffalo, creating great memories. The guide was also very friendly and engaging, which was nice. I recommend bringing a change of pants and underwear, as your bottom and lower legs will get wet while canoeing. It was also great to be able to take a shower afterward. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

It was my first time on Iriomote Island, and thanks to our tour guide Tacky, we had a fun day. My husband and I chose canoeing, but I think stand-up paddleboarding would be great for those with more stamina. They also took photos and sent them to us for free! Due to the weather, we couldn't go to Barasu Island, but it was nice that they suggested a combination with another tour the day before. Since there are no transportation options like taxis, they kindly stopped by a supermarket and recommended delicious restaurants before taking us back to the hotel, which was really helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour company when visiting Iriomote Island.
