Reception at Arashiyama Tusen North Pier
A private yakatabune (houseboat) that leisurely cruises around the Oi River upstream from Togetsukyo Bridge. While floating in the refreshing air, spend an exceptionally luxurious time amidst the scenery of Arashikyo gorge.
Skilled boatmen use traditional techniques to navigate the yakatabune with a single bamboo pole, a unique experience. Arashiyama Tusen, established in 1912, continues this manual boat handling tradition.
We offer a meal featuring “Beef Sukiyaki” or “Beef & Pork Shabu-Shabu” from Kyoto cuisine restaurant Matsuo Kawayo. Enjoy your meal onboard while spending a relaxing and leisurely time on the boat. (Includes tea)
*Hot pots are not provided individually; one pot is shared among up to four guests.
Enjoy snacks from the Kotogase Chaya 'floating store' during your cruise.
*The shop boat (Kotogase Chaya) operates irregularly, so we cannot guarantee whether the shop boat will be out. Please come and enjoy your boat ride with the anticipation of whether you will encounter it or not.
