First time on a yakatabune (houseboat). 初めての屋形船

This was my first experience on a yakatabune (houseboat), and I made a reservation for two with my daughter. The food, especially the freshly fried tempura, was all very delicious. We enjoyed various flavors with the dipping sauce and salt (there was also matcha available)! The dessert was something I had never tried before, and it was delightful. The clam rice was tasty, and the warm miso soup was delicious as well.

Additionally, all the staff members were very kind and friendly, engaging in conversation and even taking photos for us. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much! If I have the chance again, I would love to come back. Everyone, please take care of yourselves and keep up the good work!

I thought two and a half hours might be long, but we stopped twice along the way, which gave us time to take photos on the deck, making it just the right amount of time. I liked that the freshly fried tempura was served one piece at a time. The final rice dish was also delicious. The female staff were friendly, and I had a great time.

At first, I struggled with the pressure and how to approach the carving, making many mistakes, but gradually I was able to do it as I intended. With the staff's advice, I managed to complete my piece. It was challenging, but creating a one-of-a-kind item was very satisfying. Thank you very much.

As expected, we couldn't cut as perfectly as the samples, and my elderly mother struggled a bit, but in the end, the staff helped us finish the pieces and even took photos to make them look great. The service was also very attentive.

I was able to create a simple wisteria pattern quite well, so I got a bit carried away and tried the bellflower, which was difficult and I struggled. Being near Odaiba and the Tokyo Skytree, I was able to go up on the roof of the boat and enjoy the scenery while feeling the gentle breeze, which was wonderful.

We had a magnificent time with our instructor for the food class! He was instructive, patient, and made the experience the best it could be. You can really tell he loves what he does, and teaching people about it. If we ever come back to Japan, we will definitely be taking another class.

I also want to note: these classes can be taken in English is need be. Our instructor apologized for his “bad English” - and then spoke perfect English the whole time. I was like “no- WE apologize for OUR bad Japanese >_<“

Great fun for all ages. I took my husband and his guy friend, and they loved it more than they thought. Just 10/10 experience.

I booked this experience for my boyfriend's birthday as he's a big fan of plastic food, so we wanted to learn how to make it and try it out for ourselves. If you're worried that this experience may only be fun for kids or families, we're both in our early 30s and had a really fun time of it!

The owner told us about the history of the craft while he taught us how to make our plastic fried rice, and it was really interesting to learn about!

They have a lot of fun trinkets and jewelry for sale as well that make amazing gifts for friends and family!

Would highly recommend this experience for anyone interested.

We were blessed with clear weather, enjoyed the cherry blossoms by the shore, savored delicious tempura, and had a very enjoyable time. There was a comfortable distance from the neighboring table, which made chatting with the people next to us delightful. The staff were also very kind. I think the 2 hours and 30 minutes was the perfect length.

Booking online was straight-forward and easy as well :) Do note that to purchase additional in-store merchandise (sample food made by the store eg keychains) require cash, which we unfortunately did not bring. Otherwise, the course itself was engaging, straight-forward, and fun even for adults. Would definitely recommend!

I was quite worried about how it would be since it was very cold, but inside it was warm, and the beer and sake were delicious, which made me very satisfied. I experienced this about 40 years ago, and I'm not sure if it's the same company, but the food was also delicious, and there was so much that I couldn't finish it. My American friend was also very pleased and extremely satisfied.
