We are Canadians from Toronto and first time visitors to Japan. We had a total 1 week's time to visit 3 cities - Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. We had planned to spend 3 days in Tokyo and wanted to cover the most tourist places. Japan has a very advanced and amazing railway system, especially in Tokyo with multiple local train lines meshing the city providing excellent connectivity. We decided to take a day pass on JR Rail and see the important places ourselves. We took 1-day pass and could see only 2-3 places and were tired by end of the day due to long walks. Then we found out on the net about Tokyo Hop-On Hop-off bus for 1 or 2 days. We took 1 day pass on the Hop-On Hop-off bus and were pleasantly surprised that we could cover most major visiting spots within a day. With guided tour and convenience of hop-on hop-off it was a lot more relaxing as there was minimum walking. There was flexibility to get on to the next bus at scheduled time plus we were able to see most of Tokyo by taking all 3 Hop-On Hop-off bus lines. Staff was very courteous and helpful. It was raining for some part of the day and we were provided raincoats. We enjoyed the Hop-On Hop-off bus and we will recommend other friends to take this tour for quick tour of Tokyo.

I strongly recommend using Hop-On Hop-Off buses as it is really a great deal. We have seen several places in Tokyo beforehand. However, by using these special buses we have a general sense of view of the Tokyo. My suggestion to the tourists is to have a plan to use the 2 days trip. By paying a quite reasonable price than 1 day you are able to have a trip over the whole thee lines including Green, Purple and also Blue. Be aware the buses for all three routes are red and you should ask the staff which one is which otherwise you need to wait for at least 1 hour for the next bus. you should take the time table and try to choose the lines in a way that you are able to minimum the waiting time in between. On the first day you can sit on the bust and having a look around if there is any places you would like to stop by you should make a note for yourself including which line it is and what station it is then on the next day you can just stop on the favorite places you have chosen. As a last point you are better off getting off the Tokyo station as it is pretty close to the Mitsubishi station compare to the other stations. Hope you all enjoy the trip!

I rented a pocket wifi during my last trip to Tokyo. The reservation was done online and the device was ready for me when I checked into the hotel. Very easy to set up and I had constant internet connection. Very helpful when shopping, using the GPS, or maneuvering the subway system! Drop off was easy as well. I could drop it off at any convenient store but since I was provided a prepaid envelope, my hotel let me dropped off at the counter at check out.

I rented a router via veltra after reading good reviews here. I had my unit shipped to my friend's place in Tokyo, and it was waiting for me there.

I turned on the router (it was fully charged), Find ID in my laptop and iphone settings, and I was good to go. I had no problem during my stay.

It says "Pocket WiFi Router Rental in Tokyo" but actually you can use anywhere in Japan. It worked great in Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki etc.

I'll use it again next time. Thanks!

Fun but mixed

This was mostly a good experience. But there were some areas that needed improvement.

The audio was always "off." The announcements of the audio typically came after we had passed a location -- the audio was late or the driver was fast. In the beginning there was no info on the first 10 minutes of the trip at all. The ear plugs need to be up-graded. The style you have is very uncomfortable for some people, including me. Finally, the audio box for one of us (we were two travelers) was not working -- the volume could not go sufficiently high to hear.

There was an issue with whether the bus was stopping or not at the marked locations. For example, we would have wanted to get off at Asakusa to visit the market and the temple, but the bus did not stop there at all. The brochure indicated that the bus should have stopped there. But there was no announcement or offer to stop, and the bus did not stop. That was very disappointing to us.

We hope this info is useful and we appreciate the two-for-one offer in exchange for us providing this review. Please process the credit at your earliest convenience. Also, the ponchos were great and the woman at the Mitsubishi box office was super helpful.

Great 24 hour deal, routes are timed nicely so you can finish on, and join the next, good spread of sites and activities, staff very friendly and knowledgeable, buses in nice condition.

Good thing is that you get 24 hours from the time of your purchase / arrival to get your ticket, so if you show up at 2pm (like I did, because you had activities the night before that prevented an early start) then your 24 hours starts at 2pm and ends at 2pm the following day, nice idea :)

I would recommend the saving the bridge route until the evening (or just go through it again in the evening) as the lights on the bridges at night are awesome and well worth seeing!

It was my daughter's first time in Tokyo as a sixth grader, so we decided to visit various well-known places that we had heard about! Although it was a bit hectic, we were able to cover all three courses in one full day, and we were very satisfied. As mentioned in the experiences, most of the guests were from abroad, which was nice as well. We had a bit of trouble figuring out the Asakusa station after taking the train from Skytree to Asakusa, but that's also a memorable experience! Thank you very much! (^^)!

VELTRA is arguably the best place to get a reliable and fast Pocket Wi-Fi in Tokyo. It was so easy!I had it delivered to my rented apartment, and we did have a missed delivery. However, VELTRA has excellent customer service, and redelivered it the next day with multiple communication emails in between. I was impressed. I can't praise them enough.

The Wi-Fi is LTE, works ALL over Japan (I took it with me to Osaka and Kobe for 3 days) battery life is great, so convenient, and the price for a two week rental CANNOT BE BEAT! It is such a great service, and wonderful to have in Japan. I can't tell you how many times I needed a reliable Wi-Fi connection to access maps, TripAdvisor, GuruNavi, and Google on my cell phone and tablet.

It is about the size of a small bar of soap, boots up fast, and the battery life lasts almost the entire day. It comes in a zippered pouch with charger and cable, and even some discount tourist coupons. You just match up the Wi-Fi name in your devices, and enter in the password and save. Your devices will automatically hook up to it every time it's on. EASY.

The price of rental was better than every other site I checked on the internet, and delivery was simple. The best part was returning the unit: You pack it in the included envelope and fill out the return address form, and walk to your nearest Lawson, 7-Eleven, or FamilyMart konbini, and give it to the clerk. (Your neighborhood convenience stores are used as Post Offices) They fill out some info on the return slip, stamp it, and send it back for you. SO EASY!!

I can't wait to write this review. The pocket wifi is amazing work of technology. It is so simple and yet powerful stuff. I am a wonder to myself and to get connected to Internet everywhere I go within the city. I don't have to rush back to my hotel for anything ( especially alongside my power bank). Once I hit the road, the hotel people never see my back until close to midnight. Yet, this pocket wifi never looses its power. Thank you and thank you. It makes my holiday a memorable one.

I highly recommend this Pocket wifi to anyone that want to have a fun filled holiday .

Unfortunately after my above review, my bag was stolen and this pocket wifi was one of the items lost. The company charged me ¥31000 for the lost router! Please keep the router securely at all times.

I rode an open-top bus for the first time. It was refreshing and interesting to view the places I usually walk by from a higher perspective, almost like a tourist. It might be unavoidable since it's an earphone guide, but it was a bit disappointing that the explanation would abruptly cut off when the area changed. They were explaining things I surprisingly didn't know, so I was left wanting to hear more. I felt it was a great deal since I was able to conquer three routes in one day.

I chose this tour because the points I had were about to expire, and it was the same price as the number of points. My son was looking forward to it, and since we had a free day, I was determined to ride all three routes, but I ended up getting bored along the way. However, I think this season is particularly pleasant. It's fun to see the traffic lights and trains from a different perspective. The ability to get off at various stops and switch to other routes is also appealing.

I rode two routes on three buses. There was a female guide, but one person had very poor manners and behaved in a way that was quite unprofessional, which was very unpleasant. It seemed that the guide on the second floor could communicate with the driver via a built-in phone, and she would frequently scream and report things she saw or thought over the phone. The driver also received calls quite often. I wish they would stop during the drive. They might be friendly, but they should be more reserved while working. Moreover, she even gave nicknames to foreign guests and made jokes, which should not be said in front of us customers. Other guests were also looking at her with disapproval due to her inconsiderate behavior and loud voice, but she continued to talk loudly without caring, and the content of her conversation was not what one would expect from an adult. We rented Veltra's pocket wifi for 7 days. we asked that it be dropped off in our hotel. however, upon arriving in the hotel, we were informed by the front desk person that it has not arrived yet (that was around 11am). I was actually expecting that it will be there when we arrived, so this was quite disappointing for me. however, when our time for our check in has come, the receptionist handed it to me already (around 1pm), so i was happy already.

it was very useful especially when navigating around Japan. it helped us check the right routes to take. it was able to save us when we almost got lost when we accidentally missed our train stop.

We were not able to use the device however for one day because there was no signal. this was in Koyasan. Not a big deal however, because the place was small and we did not need it much for navigation.

The drop off was also very easy - we just left it in a box in their small booth in KIX airport.

Overall, we will still use Veltra when we go back to Japan.

I had been looking all over the internet in regards to my options for using a phone or portable wifi device while in Japan. Most companies wanted about $14 USD per day. I'm so glad I found veltra! I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Japan. I took it as far as Hiroshima with no service issues. It didn't always work in certain department store buildings, but that wasn't an issue for me at all. It helped me to navigate through the Tokyo train system by myself and keep in touch with family back home. If you are going to Japan for any length of time, you should rent this device.

The WIFI portable router was waiting for me at my hotel in Kawaguchiko. Used it everywhere - on bus trips, in train, on long walks, - good coverage and signal. Search for restaurants, looked for maps and read reviews . Returning was easy. Just re-pack it - don't tear to throw the plastic bag it comes in - and fill the forms and go to any convenience store which are all over the place in Japan for delivery. I just passed it to the hotel reception to sort it out.

no problems with pocket wifi

I rented the pocket WiFi for two weeks and had no problems with it. It was easy to carry around. It fit in my bag or pants pocket. My smart phone and my tablet were connected to the WiFi at the same time and it worked fine.
Returning the product was easy too. The envelope is prepaid, so I just dropped it off at the front desk of the hotel. The pickup by the transit company was a few hours later. I could have dropped it off at the convenience stores, too.
I will be renting from Veltra again when I go back to Japan in Sept.

My husband and I are traveling in Japan. In order to prevent unwanted roaming data charges from incurring on our phone bill we decided to rent the pocket wifi. The device was delivered to our hotel on time and after opening the package it was evident that it was compact enough to fit in your pocket or a small bag. The device was on all day and provided wifi for 2 iPhones without any problems. Data service was fast and constant. We were able to stay connected for business and leisure situations. The device was very helpful. Thank you.

Wonderful Tokyo 素晴らしき東京

I had been interested in the open-top red bus for a while and thought I would ride it someday. Wanting to have an interesting experience with my friends, I made a reservation this time.

You can choose to exchange your tickets either near Tokyo Skytree or Tokyo Station. We opted for Tokyo Station. The one-day ticket allows you to choose from three courses: Roppongi Course, Odaiba Course, and Asakusa Course. We initially chose the Odaiba Course because we thought the views would be beautiful.

Once we boarded, I was surprised by the height of the bus. It departs from Marunouchi, and the various buildings I usually see looked completely different from up high. It's amazing how much your perspective changes with height.

There was a lot of greenery and beautiful buildings, and I felt proud to be living in such a beautiful city. The bus headed towards the bay area, and surprisingly, it even went onto the expressway! I was a bit nervous about that.

It was a very sunny day, so the views of Odaiba were stunning. About 60% of the passengers were from overseas, and when Odaiba came into view, everyone cheered! We also passed by the Rainbow Bridge!

After that, we had lunch in Odaiba and returned to Marunouchi to join the Asakusa Course. Unlike the Odaiba Course, there weren't many scenic views, but we went under elevated tracks multiple times, which felt like an attraction.

At first, I thought I might get bored quickly, but it was so much fun that I didn't want to go back at all. Next time, I plan to dress warmly! I want to ride again!

緑が多くて、キレイな建物がいっぱいで、私はこんなキレイな都市に住んでいたのかと誇らしくなりました。
湾岸の方に向かうバス。なんとこのバス首都高にもこのまま乗ります。ちょっとドキドキでした。
すごく晴れていた日だったので、お台場の景色がキレイに見えます。乗客は6割くらいは海外からの方でしたが、お台場がきれいに見えた瞬間わ皆さん歓声があがりました！レインボーブリッジも通りますよん！
その後私たちはお台場でランチしてまた丸の内まで戻り、浅草コースに参加しました！
お台場コースと違い、景色に花はないですが、高架下を何回も通るのでアトラクションみたいな気分を味わえました。
初めはすぐ飽きちゃうかなと思ったのですが、すごく楽しく、寒全然帰りたくありませんでした。
今度は厚着して挑もうと思います！また乗りたいです！
