When you exit Cancun Airport, there are a lot of people trying to attract customers. Since Uber is not available near the airport, it's best to make a reservation in advance.

This time, someone in easily recognizable clothing was waiting for us, so we were able to get to the pickup point right away! We gathered after everyone arrived, but we were able to depart in about 30 minutes, which I think is pretty good!

It took just under an hour from our arrival until we actually boarded the bus. There were others who had been waiting longer than us. I felt that the local transportation staff were quite inefficient. If time is a priority, I think taking a taxi would be better.

I used this for transportation from the airport to the hotel. When you exit the lobby of Cancun International Airport, you will be overwhelmed by the number of local taxi solicitations and shuttle service pickups. There were quite a few people, so I couldn't tell which one was the company I had booked. Be cautious, as there are also so-called "scam taxis" among them. I asked a couple of people about "Speedy Shuttle" and finally found it, but the sign they were holding said Expedia, which was a bit confusing. After waiting a little for the ride, I shared the shuttle with two other groups. The driver spoke English, and since there were three groups in total, it took over 30 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel as we stopped at three different hotels. That said, I felt reassured knowing they were waiting for me outside after going through the lengthy immigration process. I strongly recommend booking in advance as the prices are reasonable!

Just when I thought we were finally on our way, we headed to a different terminal. In the end, we departed an hour after arriving. It was such a waste of time that I decided I would book a private transfer next time. The weather was nice (the forecast said it would be cloudy), so I wanted to see the ocean quickly, but I never expected to lose time like this. It was really the worst.

The waiting area has no shade, so while it's fine during the dry season, I think it would be tough in the peak summer heat.
