In Northern Thailand, the Loy Krathong festival and Yi Peng Lantern festival usually happen at the same time making it a special and exciting time to visit the region. The famous festivals both take place in the 12th Thai lunar month, which often falls in November. The ceremonies are quite the wondrous sights as thousands of decorated baskets (krathongs) and paper lanterns (khom loi) illuminates the river and the sky. Make wishes come true!
