On the bus, the guide shared information about Kanazawa and Shirakawa-go while I dozed off, gathering information.
It was a chilly day with rain. During our free time in Shirakawa-go, I warmed up by soaking in a hot spring (it was convenient since it was our lunch spot; the bathing fee was 600 yen and the towel was 150 yen).
I think the time allocation was just right.
In Gokayama, we only visited the Ainokura village, but I was able to stroll quietly through the village.
The guide also provided explanations about other villages from the bus window, allowing us to enjoy the experience without any prior research.

The guided tour picks up at Ikebukuro or Shinjuku station. Our tour guide was Nobu and he was quite wonderful! The bus ran right on time. It wasn't full for the day we chose because it was an overcast day. Mount Fuji peeked out of the clouds for just a moment while we were at the top so we got to see it!! It was awesome!! The tour hits up the Mt Fuji 5th station shop, includes a lunch at a French restaurant (with special accomodations for the vegetarian in our group). You get a $3 souvenir or ice cream voucher too. The cruise on the lake was the best part! If I was making a suggestion, the top of Mt Fuji and the amusement park could be 15 minutes longer and the lake area could be 30 minutes less in exchange. Other than that it was the absolute best and I would recommend to anyone!

The tour was ok. It was good to have a tour guide to help explain things. We were only on the mountain for 30 minutes which was no where near enough time. We needed at least an hour. The boat ride was nice too. The ropeway was closed due to wind so they took us to an aquarium close to the mountain. The aquarium was absolutely awful. There were dead turtles in a few of the tanks. I would have preferred to have headed back to Tokyo a little earlier and skip the aquarium. Most of the folks on our tour complained about the aquarium. Not having a reserved seat on the bullet train was also a disappointment. I would recommend a reserved seat on the bullet train to and from the mountain if you can do it.

The tour was good. I enjoyed.
I like that during the bus the guide was talking about some interesting things about Japan.
During the Cruise in Lake Ashi, you only can see Mt. Fuji almost when you have to leave de ship. I think this is not a good lake, a better one its the lake next to the Ashi Lake.
The lunch was very tasty but too small. I could eat more.
They have no pick up and drop off service from Asakusa area.
The tour was OK.

During the first stand-up paddleboarding tour, I was able to enjoy the mangrove forest, and in the next cave tour, I experienced the mystical scenery.

On the landing tour to the coral island of Barasu Island in the afternoon, I was grateful for all the photos taken! I was very satisfied with the guide's extensive knowledge and careful guidance, and of course, I was able to leave with great satisfaction from the natural beauty of Iriomote Island. The best course for playing from morning to evening! The plan that includes mangroves, a limestone cave, and landing on Barasu Island is not offered by other shops, allowing us to fully enjoy Iriomote Island. The forest walk and cave was the highlight of the day. The cave was suprisingly a lot harder than I expected, but still very fun even if it was slippery. Was very thankful they provided the jumpsuits and helmet as I would have got very dirty /wet otherwise.

I came to Ishigaki for the first time. I wanted to explore the surrounding islands, so I went to Iriomote Island. I heard that Iriomote Island is rich in nature and is called the "Galapagos of the East," so I signed up for a tour to experience nature.

There, I went to do stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), visited a limestone cave, and went to Barasu Island, which is made up of a few corals. I was a bit anxious since it was my first time doing SUP, but the guide taught me patiently, so I was able to do it well. Even though my friends pushed me in, playing surrounded by nature that I don't usually see became a great memory. The impact of the heavy rain disaster in May and the onset of the rainy season, along with unstable weather and delays at the time of departure, filled me with anxiety as I set off for Yakushima. Arriving at Yakushima Airport was a miracle, especially since it was a connecting flight. It was also miraculous that the mountain bus service resumed on the day of trekking, and despite heavy rain the night before, the weather was clear that day—truly a miraculous start to the trekking adventure.

However, I felt a sense of reassurance from the words of our guide, Shimozono-san, who said, "It will be fine. Let's do our best to go as far as we can."

On the day of the trek, I teamed up with my friends and two young women, making a group of four. "Today is the best," said Shimozono-san. With the June sunshine filtering through the deep green foliage, even though we were sweating, the breeze was refreshing. He helped us manage our pace as trekking beginners, and we successfully reached Jomon Sugi. The miso soup he prepared for our lunch was comforting.

We also took many great photos. Although I had continuously declined invitations to trek to Jomon Sugi, the sense of accomplishment of "I did it too" was overwhelming. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories.

５月の豪雨災害の影響と梅雨へ突入、地元出発時の気象の不安定と大雨で遅延と条件付きと、不安材料満載の中で屋久島へ出発となりました。屋久島空港に到着も奇跡、しかも乗り継ぎで。トレッキング当日に登山バス運行が再開となったのも奇跡、前日は夜間も大雨だったのに当日は晴れたのも奇跡で、ホントに奇跡尽くしのトレッキングの始まりでした。
しかし、前日にガイドのシモゾノさんからの「大丈夫でしょう。行けるところまでがんばってき行きましょう。」というお言葉になぜか安心感がわきました。
当日は友達と、他に二人の若い女性との４人でトライしました。「今日は最高だよ」とシモゾノさん。６月の晴れ間で深緑の隙間から光がさし、汗をかいても風が涼しく、長ーい道のりをトレッキング初心者の４人のペース配分して下さり、無事に縄文杉までたどり着くことが出来ました。用意してくださった昼食のお味噌汁浸みました。
いい写真もたくさん撮れました。
誘いを拒否しつづけてきた縄文杉トレッキングでしたが、「私でも出来た」という達成感は半端なかったです。
良い思い出を本当にありがとうございました。

I participated with a friend. We chose to bike around Taketomi Island! We were able to explore very efficiently from morning until evening! If you're wondering which island tour to join from Ishigaki, I definitely recommend this tour!

Biking on Taketomi Island might be tough during the humid rainy season, haha. A bus might be better. The roads on Taketomi Island have a lot of sand, making it difficult to pedal and quite challenging.
