There is a sense of excitement on-site that cannot be captured in photos. I believe it is worth it, even more so than the exhaustion the next day. The trolley path along the way became an enjoyable journey thanks to the guide's explanations.
写真では感じられない現地での迫力があります。翌日の疲労困憊にも増してその価値があると思います。途中のトロッコ道もガイドさんの説明を聞くことで楽しい道中になりました。

At first, I walked along a gentle trolley path. It was very enjoyable to walk on a trail full of nature. After that, I walked on steep paths like stone stairs and wooden paths. My feet were a bit sore, but when I reached Jomon Sugi, I felt an unprecedented sense of accomplishment. It was drizzling a little, and I couldn't see the distant mountains, but I was able to experience beautiful scenery that I usually don't get to see, like moss with raindrops on it and snow that hadn't completely melted yet. Thank you to everyone who climbed with me!
初めはなだらかなトロッコ道を歩きました。自然たっぷりの道を歩けてとても楽しかったです。その後は、石の階段や木の道など、険しい道を歩きました。足は少しつらかったですが、縄文杉まで登れたときはこれまでにない達成感を感じられました。雨が少し降っていて、遠くの山は見ることができませんでしたが、雨の雫がついた苔やまだ溶けきっていない雪など、普段見られない景色が見れてとても良い経験ができました。一緒に登ってくださったみなさまありがとうございました！

I wanted to see Jomon Sugi at least once in my life, so I decided to join the tour alone. I hadn't done much hiking since elementary school, and I usually only walk about 4,000 to 5,000 steps a day, so I was very anxious.
About 60 to 70% of the trail was paved with wooden boards, but since it was March, it was quite slippery as we approached the summit, and some people fell.
It was a long journey, but encouraging each other with the group and walking in the magnificent nature of Yakushima to see the majestic Jomon Sugi was an incredible feeling of accomplishment! The guide welcomed us warmly from the moment we met and took many photos for us. I felt like our group was relatively young, so we might have walked a bit faster than other guides, but I think it was good that we were able to walk at a comfortable pace.
人生で1回は縄文杉を見てみたいと思い1人で参加を決めました。私は登山も小学校以来したことがほぼなく、普段も4〜5,000歩ほどしか歩いていなかったため、とても不安でした。
道は6、7割は木の板で舗装されていましたが、3月ということもあり山頂に行くほど滑りやすく、転んだ方もいました。
長い道のりでしたが、グループの皆さんと声を掛け合い、屋久島の大自然の中で歩いて荘厳な縄文杉を見れた時の達成感はすごかったです！
ガイドの方は初めて会った時から優しく出迎えてくれて、写真もたくさんとっていただきました。私たちのグループが比較的若い方だったからか、他のガイドさんよりも少し早めのスピードだった気がしますが、余裕を持って歩けたのはよかったのかなと思います。

It started with trekking in the rain while wearing rain gear from the trailhead, but the Jomon Sugi, shrouded in misty rain, was mystical and truly beautiful.
As a solo traveler in my senior years, I prepared for concerns about my physical stamina by trying to walk as much as possible without using public transportation and by doing longer hikes on low mountains. However, after reading reviews, I was worried that some people had unpleasant experiences with certain guides, which lingered until the day of the trek.
In reality, the group was organized mainly with people of similar ages and other solo participants, which eased my mind. Most importantly, the guide managed the pace by adjusting the timing and length of breaks, and shared stories about plants and history at key points that I wouldn't have known without guidance, making the long walking time feel less painful. They also took beautiful photos for us. Thank you very much!
I wished I could have taken more time to enjoy the scenery, but considering the distance for a day trip, there was nothing that could be done about that. The long, long trolley path was daunting to walk through with a headlamp in the dark on the way there, but on the return, I was moved to realize, "I walked through this," which felt refreshing.

Asumi Spiritual involves quite a bit of walking on rocky mountains, so I think it's pretty tough. Plus, going around everything is a race against time. Even for someone like me who enjoys visiting historical sites and is used to mountain climbing, I found myself cutting it close to the meeting time while taking photos and videos.
It would be great if there were options for those who stay here and those who go to Yanbaru. For those staying, if they could be picked up on the way back from Yanbaru, I think even those without much stamina could manage.

In the moss-covered space I expected, I was energized by the various trees, including Yakusugi, which grow tall and firmly root themselves even in limited soil. The guide took many breaks to accommodate us and was very knowledgeable, teaching us a lot of things we didn't know, which made the experience really enjoyable up to a certain point. However, at one point, they brought up something we didn't want to discuss, and it seemed like they thought it was a joke, as they continued to mention it on the way back. When we showed signs of being upset, they said, "Oh, you're sulking," and continued the conversation with malicious questions and reactions. I'm glad I could participate in this tour that I gave up on last year. Since I can't drive and I'm traveling alone, I think it's a great opportunity for people like me to join. The Oishi Seirinsan course was easy to walk. I managed to walk two courses (it was great). I also thought it was nice that I could listen to the audio guide on the bus. The seafood lunch was really delicious. The tour guide was cheerful... We were blessed with good weather, and I was able to achieve the main purpose of this trip, making it a satisfying experience.
昨年はあきらめたこのツアーに参加できてよかった。

I thoroughly enjoyed the trekking at Daishi Forest Mountain. Since there were only six participants, we had plenty of time in our itinerary. The guide's talk was enjoyable, and the bus ride was fun as well.
大石林山トレッキングを堪能できました。
参加者が6名しかいなかったので行程に余裕がありました。

I heard that due to the severe cold wave, it has often been difficult to reach Jomon Sugi recently, so I thought it would be nice to at least make it partway there. However, thanks to our guide Yoshioka's appropriate encouragement, perfect pacing, and consideration, I was able to reach the end. Walking in the snow was challenging, but he taught us how to walk properly, so I started to get the hang of it. I learned a lot, not just about mountain climbing but also various other things. I'm really glad I participated because I was able to see such beautiful scenery.
大寒波の影響でここ最近は縄文杉までたどり着けないことが多いと聞き、途中まででも行ければいいかと思いながらの参加でした。

When I made the reservation for February 18 last September, I was informed that "there might be snow in February." You can enjoy sightseeing all the way to Cape Hedo, the northernmost point, in just one day. The seafood lunch was as delicious as others have commented. The melt-in-your-mouth squid sashimi was amazing to taste in this tropical setting! For those who are not fond of sashimi, the vegetable tempura was also said to be delicious. After lunch, we were served shikuwasa jelly and cake on the bus. Eating and drinking are allowed on the bus, so you can enjoy dessert while taking in the scenery from the window. Participants from China, South Korea, English-speaking countries, and French-speaking countries joined the tour. I was impressed by how the guide managed to bring together such a diverse group with just the right amount of distance. Thanks to this tour, I was able to have a great time without needing a rental car!

The tour guide was very nice and assisted us in both Japanese and English. For lunch, we had a delicious fish dish. My companion, who doesn't eat fish, was accommodated with a tempura lunch instead. I am grateful to the tour guide and the restaurant staff. We also enjoyed the weather at Yanbaru National Park and Cape Hedo. It was a well-planned tour.

This was our first time in Yakushima, and it was my elementary school daughter's first trekking experience as well. Since we were a bit anxious about going alone, my husband arranged for a private guide.
The trekking was so much fun thanks to our guide, Sachi, who explained about the Yakusugi trees and plants in detail using a whiteboard! Additionally, she took frequent breaks to match my younger daughter's pace, allowing us to climb at our own speed. Along the way, we were thrilled to see deer, which made the kids very happy.
The final ascent was tough, but the view when we reached Taiko Rock was amazing, and we all exclaimed, "Wow!" The sense of accomplishment and the scenery from the top is something I will never forget. I believe we were able to reach Taiko Rock because of Sachi's guidance. If it had just been our family, we might have given up along the way (laughs).
Trekking with a guide versus without is completely different, so I highly recommend this tour.
Even now, our family often reminisces about the trekking experience. Thanks to Sachi, we've fallen in love with Yakushima, and we want to go back as a family again. Thank you, Sachi!

また、下の娘のペースに合わせ、こまめに休憩を取ってくださったので自分達のペースで登れました。途中、鹿を見れて子供達も大喜びでした。
最後の登りはきつかったですが、太鼓岩に着いた時の眺めは素晴らしく、思わずみんな「わぁ〜〜‼️」と声が出ました。登り切った時の達成感、景色は一生忘れないと思います。
今回、太鼓岩まで行けたのはガイドのさちさんがいてくれたからだと思っています。家族だけだったら途中で諦めてたかもです（笑）
ガイドさん「ありorなし」でのトレッキングは全く違うので、このツアーは本当にオススメです。
今でも家族でトレッキングの思い出話をよくしています。さちさんのおかげで屋久島が大好きになったので、また家族で行きたいと思っています。

This is my fifth time in Okinawa, but I had never been to the northern part, so I joined this tour. As usual, most participants were foreigners, but this tour provided earphone guides and pamphlets tailored to each participant's language at the beginning. During the tour, when the guide signaled "Please turn on your earphone guide," the next sightseeing explanation was provided in each participant's language through the earphone guide.
There are tours where explanations are mainly in Chinese, leaving Japanese participants behind, so I thought this was fair and well thought out.
There were about 15 participants, but they arranged a large bus, allowing us to enjoy the sightseeing comfortably.

I had only ever toured the beaches and Shuri Castle, but this time it was a very interesting and enjoyable trip as we were able to experience history and nature that we didn't know about. Since we didn't have a driver, we joined a one-day tour, which was a great deal and packed with highlights. We safely arrived at Jomon Sugi, but unfortunately, it was completely white with fog. It was said to be the second least visible situation in 25 years. However, it was a rare experience, and I was very glad that everyone returned safely without any injuries.

Only three family members participated on New Year's Day. The grandeur of the Yakusugi trees was breathtaking, and although the temperature was 3°C, the humidity exceeded 70%, making the moss incredibly beautiful and soothing. It turned out to be a fun trekking tour that wasn't too strenuous. The guide took many photos for us, which we received via AirDrop at the end. They made us delicious miso soup for lunch. It was quite cold at the end of the year. The trolley path on the way there was frozen, and crossing a bridge without handrails made me nervous, thinking I could break a bone if I fell. With a headlamp in one hand, I kept walking, walking, walking. I took a heart-shaped photo at the Wilson tree and felt healed. From here, due to the deep snow, I put on crampons and set off. After climbing up and down the snow-covered mountain path, I finally reached Jomon Sugi. I took many photos from two observation points. What a magnificent size it was. I had to return before the 5 PM departure of the return bus, so I couldn’t take my time. The poor footing on the trolley path made me look down while walking, causing pain in my neck and shoulders, and I continued walking while enduring calf pain. With five members encouraging each other, we were able to return without anyone dropping out. Thank you to our guide for the strict yet precise instructions.

Our guide provided detailed and enjoyable insights into the history and nature of Yakushima while walking at a comfortable pace. The older participant made it to the moss-covered forest, while the others fully enjoyed trekking to Taiko Rock.
