We arrived at Arashiyama in an hour and a half instead of the planned two hours, which allowed us to make it in time for our lunch reservation afterward. I'm glad I went to Shirakawa-go with this bus tour, which I had always wanted to visit. The guide provided recommendations for spots to check out, which helped with our exploration. Shirakawa-go, which I had always wanted to visit. I participated in this bus tour during my trip to Kanazawa. I joined as a solo traveler, but the bus seating and lunch arrangements were accommodating for solo participants, so I was able to enjoy myself without any worries! The bus guide and the driver were friendly, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. There was plenty of free time in Shirakawa-go, allowing me to explore every corner and have a great time. While it can be a bit challenging to reach by public transportation, the bus tour made it smooth, and I learned some great tips along the way, so I’m really glad I participated! It was a series of clear days, and although the water level was the lowest of the season, we finished our boat trip in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Three boatmen took turns guiding us from the bow, middle, and stern, and each of them engaged us in very enjoyable conversations, making the time fly by without a dull moment. Shortly after departure, there was a bit of fog and it was cold enough to need a down jacket, but it cleared up along the way, and we had a pleasantly warm and comfortable ride down the river. It was truly a great experience.

晴天続きで、今シーズンで最も少ない水量とのことでしたが、1時間40分で船旅を終了しました。3人の船頭さんが交代で船首、中ほど、船尾と持ち場を変えての案内でしたが、どの方も、とても楽しい会話で飽きることなくお客さんを楽しませて、時間があっという間に過ぎていきました。出発直後は、やや霧が立ち込めダウンを必要とする寒さでしたが、途中から快晴となり、ポカポカとした丁度良い快適な川下りとなりました。本当に良い経験でした。

I wanted to see the autumn leaves, but my 82-year-old mother has difficulty walking. I thought we could enjoy it without walking if we took a boat, so we participated together. My mother was worried, saying, "I can't swim," but the boatman reassured her, saying, "You definitely won't sink, so it's okay." We enjoyed the autumn leaves from the river, felt the terrain from the front to the back of the mountain, and had a great time laughing at the boatman's guidance and stories. After a 10-minute ride on the JR train from Saga-Arashiyama Station, I arrived at Kameoka Station. It took about 5 to 6 minutes on foot to reach the boarding area while seeing Kyocera Stadium on my right.

After completing the check-in, I was guided to the boat in less than 10 minutes of waiting, and the adventure of the Hozu River boat ride began. The skilled navigation and chatter of the three boatmen entertained all the passengers on board.

The colorful autumn leaves were vibrant, and everyone was taking lots of photos. The excitement of getting splashed with water while going down the rapids was also fun, making it a memorable 1 hour and 50-minute boat journey.

Thank you to the boatmen from that time!

嵯峨嵐山駅からJRで10分亀岡駅に到着。京セラスタジアムを右手に見ながら徒歩5,6分で乗場です。
受付を済ませ、待つこと10分足らずで舟に案内され、いよいよ保津川下りの始まりです。3人の船頭さんの巧みな操船とお喋りが満員の乗船客を楽しませてくれます。
色付いた紅葉は目にも鮮やかで、皆さん写真を撮りまくっていました。

I joined thinking it would just be a relaxing boat ride while enjoying the scenery, and I was looking forward to eating oden at the end! However, there were three boatmen who provided explanations and stories throughout the trip✨ Since I was at the very front, I was able to engage in conversation and had an amazing time‼️ More than anything, the explanations were great, but the jokes and banter made it incredibly entertaining. It rained, but I think that added a unique touch to the experience, making it a memorable one in a different way‼️ I will definitely go again.

ただ船に乗って揺られながら景色をみて、最後におでんとか食べるのが楽しみなやつ！と思い込んで参加しました。が、船頭さん３人居て終始説明やお話をしてくれました✨1番前だったのもあって、会話も出来てものすごく楽しめました‼️なにより、説明もそうだけど、冗談やツッコミもあって最高に面白かったです雨だったけど、それもなかなか味わえないかと思うので違った形で思い出になりました‼️また絶対行きます

The weather was clear from the morning, which gave me a good feeling, and as expected, not only did I get to visit Shirakawa-go and Takayama, which I had wanted to see for a long time, but I also had a wonderful day thanks to the veteran guide's wealth of information and excellent hospitality!

Guide Kuroda provided valuable insights not only about Shirakawa-go and Takayama but also about local souvenirs from Kanazawa, which was greatly appreciated coming from a local. After returning home, I was able to savor delicious souvenirs (like Tsukiyomi Yamaji and Shiso Monaka) and relive the experience. Speaking of souvenirs, I honestly didn't have high expectations, but the senbei I tried at Sasara-ya during the senbei-making experience was incredibly tasty. I found out that the shop is not too far from where I live, and I’m already thinking about going back to buy some!

Back to the tour, the clear weather provided many photo opportunities. I felt a bit rushed in Shirakawa-go, but I think if it had been rainy or cold, it might have felt longer, so perhaps the timing was just right.

Also, with various food preferences, I was honestly worried about the limited lunch options, but even I found the lunch to be delicious!

In Takayama, I quickly checked out the Jinya and then leisurely enjoyed walking around the old town and tasting local foods.

It was such a satisfying tour that I want to visit in a different season as well!

朝から快晴だったこともありいい予感がしていたのですが、期待通り、ずっと行きたかった白川郷と高山だけでなく、ベテランガイドさんの情報量と素晴らしいおもてなしで素敵な1日になりました！

ガイドの黒田さんの情報は白川郷や高山だけでなく金沢の(お土産)情報など、地元の方だからこそありがたかったですし、実際帰ってからも美味しいお土産(月読み山路、紫蘇もなかなどなど)で余韻に浸ることもできました。お土産といえば、正直あまり期待はしていなかったのですが、せんべい焼き体験で立ち寄ったささら屋さんのおせんべいがとっても美味しくて、地元からそう遠くはないところにお店があることもわかり今度買いに行きたいと思ってるほどです！

話は戻ってツアーに関してですが、快晴でシャッターチャンスも多く、白川郷では少し時間が足りないと感じましたが、もし雨だったり寒かったりしたら長く感じたかもしれないのでちょうどいいのかなと思いました。

あと、食の好みもいろいろあり、正直選択肢のないお昼は心配ではあったのですが、そんな私でもお昼は美味しくいただきました！

高山も陣屋をささっと見てから古い街並みでの食べ歩きもゆっくり楽しむことができました。

また違った季節にも行ってみたいと思うほど大満足なツアーでした！

We had the best time with Taka San - we felt like we were great friends by the end of our day in Kyoto. He immersed us in Japanese customs and traditions and thoroughly explained the nuances of each temple and shrine. His local knowledge made our experience in Kyoto better than we could have ever imagined. He even found us a great ramen spot for lunch - he even pushed my grandma in a wheelchair up a steep slope so she could see the beautiful temple. He is truly one of a kind - and we will call him every time we visit Kyoto and the surrounding area. Thank you, Taka San, for an unforgettable experience. The driving tour and his knowledge were so amazing! Having him drive us around and explain everything in such detail was such a special experience! Could not recommend him more!!

Despite being just over an hour long, the bus tour felt like an attraction. It was very enjoyable. It was great to see Tokyo Tower from various angles, and the strong winds at Rainbow Bridge were quite an experience. You don't get to experience that often.

I had been refraining from traveling since the pandemic, but I decided to start again this year. For now, I thought I would stick to domestic travel, aiming for the autumn leaves in Shirakawa-go, which I've always wanted to see. I wanted to avoid crowds, so I planned my visit on a weekday.

Since I'm coming from Sapporo, I was unsure whether to depart from Nagoya or Kanazawa, but choosing Kanazawa turned out to be the right decision. It had been a long time since my last visit, and I was surprised at how modern it has become. I really enjoyed walking around.

As for the tour to Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, the guide was absolutely wonderful, and I learned a lot. There were also foreign participants, so the explanations were provided in both Japanese and fluent English. It was a great opportunity for me to learn how to convey information in English as well (laughs).

It rained a bit, but the autumn leaves were stunning, and there was plenty of time for free exploration, which made the experience truly enjoyable.

Thank you very much. I highly recommend this tour.

コロナ下になってから旅行を控えていましたが、今年から再開。今のところ国内かなと思い、念願の白川郷の紅葉を狙っていました。人込みを避けたいので平日に。
札幌からですから、名古屋発にしようか金沢発にしようかと迷い、金沢にして正解。昔一度行ったきりですが、随分モダンに変わったのですね。散歩しても楽しかったです。
肝心の白川郷・五箇山行きのツアーですが、ガイドさんがとても素晴らしく、大変勉強になりました。外国の方も参加されていたので、日本語・流暢な英語で説明してくださいました。これを英語ではこう伝えるのだなと英語の勉強にもなりました（笑）。
ちょっと雨は降りましたが、紅葉が素晴らしく、且つ自由散策の時間がたっぷりとられていて、本当に堪能できました。
ありがとうございました。

It seems the water level was a bit low, so we were on the boat for about an hour and 45 minutes. However, we did get splashed a little. When the boatman signals, everyone on the left and right should definitely lift their seats. I get seasick on the ocean, but not on the river. (^.^) Next time, I would like to visit during the peak season for the autumn leaves.

なので、混雑していませんでした。
船頭さん方のお話楽しかったです。
水量が少なめだったらしく１時間４５分位乗船してました。
