  • Osaka Museum of History
    shutterstock_560030641 Opened in 2001, this museum was built at the site of the ancient palace and provides the visitors with interesting historic experiences. You can get a picture-perfect view of Osaka Castle from the 10th floor of the building within walking distance!
  • Otemon Gate
    shutterstock_1088861222 Make your way to the magnificent main gate of Osaka Castle, where you can see the huge stone walls and moats of the castle.
  • Houkoku Shrine
    shutterstock_267099938 Located inside the Osaka Castle compound, this Shinto shrine was built in honor of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a famous warrior and daimyo (lord). It is colorfully embellished from season to season, and is particularly beautiful during the cherry blossom and autumn leaves seasons.

    Picture-perfect pond in the Osaka Castle compound You can enter the Castle Tower Museum to get great panoramic views of Osaka from the observatory or try on a warrior costume on the second floor.
