I thought there would be a large number of people, but there were just a little over ten, so it didn't feel too cramped. My relatives from abroad came to Japan. Since it was their first time in Kyoto, I wanted to create a special memory, so I made a reservation. My child and I had just traveled to Kyoto five months ago, so I thought it would be nice to experience something we wouldn't normally do on a typical trip. Since it was summer, we opted for a riverside dinner. I had always wanted to go to a riverside dining experience in Kyoto during the summer. I planned it as a surprise for my relatives without explaining the details of the dinner, as it was also a day when they could meet a maiko.

The sukiyaki we chose was very generous in portion. The meat was tender and delicious. The riverside was cool, and the sound of insects was refreshing. The lanterns reflected beautifully on the river surface, adding to the ambiance. The charming maiko greeted us with a smile, and we were able to take many photos. The staff were also quick to take pictures for us and were very accommodating with refills of tea and other requests. The bus driver was also very friendly. My foreign relatives and my child loved it, and it was a great decision. Being able to see the maiko's dance up close created wonderful memories. I would love to go again!

選んだすき焼きはボリュームたっぷり。お肉も柔らかく美味しい。川床も涼しく、虫の声が涼しげ。川面に写る提灯も情緒たっぷり。そして可愛らしい舞妓さんがにこやかに応対してくれ、写真もたくさんとらせていただきました。スタッフのかたも写真を撮ってくれたり、お茶などのおかわりも、すぐ快く対応してくれました。バスの運転手さんもとても愛想のいいかたでした。外国人の親戚にも、子供にも大好評で、大正解でした。舞妓さんの踊りを間近で見ることができ、素敵な思い出になりました。またぜひ行きたいです！

After reading the excellent reviews I had to book this activity for me and my 16-year-old son (mid July 2023) and I have to agree with the other reviewers: it was a lot of fun and a unique experience. The instructor was really nice and helpful, he explained everything to us in English and was very patient and supportive. We had time to choose our "ingredients" and both our ice cream sundaes turned out really well. Due to the perfect packaging we brought them back home safely. We highly recommend trying it yourself!

I had never seen rakugo before, so I was interested and joined with a friend. The plate spinning and magic tricks (which I learned are called wazuma) were quite fun. There were many foreigners present, and during some of the magic tricks, they even revealed how they were done, so I was able to participate without getting bored. I think I'll show it to my acquaintances. Haha!

Although the explanation was in Japanese, the staff made sure I understood what to do and even showed me exactly how to proceed. It was a wonderful experience and a fun way to spend a couple hours.

This time, a friend from out of town wanted to meet a maiko, but since a real okiya experience costs several hundred thousand yen, I made a reservation for a beginner-friendly option. As it was my first experience, I thought I might not be able to achieve the design I envisioned with my skills, and I made a few mistakes along the way. However, when I asked the instructor for help with corrections, they managed to cover up my errors.

There were various things that caught my attention when viewed up close, but for a first attempt, I was quite satisfied with what I created, and I would love to try it again if I have the opportunity.

There's a tablet with Google Translate available on-hand to help move through any language bumps, and staff was incredibly accommodating towards all levels of Japanese proficiency. I definitely plan to bring english-only friends back here on a future trip.

This time, we had a one-day tour course in the heavy rain caused by the typhoon during this season. It was a bit tough for the elderly. However, thanks to the kind assistance of the guide and driver, as well as the friendly atmosphere among the fellow travelers, we were able to enjoy the day fully even in the heavy rain. It had been a long time since my last visit to Nara (maybe several decades?), and I made some wonderful memories. On the final return day, June 3rd, the Shinkansen stopped in the morning and resumed service in the afternoon with significant delays, making it a trip that was memorable in many ways.

Since this was a two-night, three-day course, there are still places I want to visit, and I am considering returning to enjoy Nara again. I would like to use the regular sightseeing bus during that visit as well.

いやはやこの時期の台風影響で大雨の中での1日周遊コース。年寄りにはやや厳しいコースでした。ただガイド・運転手さんの親切な応対や同乗した人々の和やかな雰囲気で大雨の中でも1日充分に楽しめました。奈良には久々（数十年ぶりかな？）の来訪でよい思い出ができました。最終の帰省日の6/3はam新幹線ストップpm運転再開も大幅遅延、色々な意味で思いで深い旅行でした。
今回は2泊3日コースでしたので行き残している場所もあるので改めて訪問し再び奈良を堪能したいと考えています。その際にも定期観光バスを利用したいと考えています。
